Sony :: Vaio Graphic Card Underclocked
Feb 17, 2010I read that Sony Vaio FW's ATI Radeon 4650 is underclocked. I'm wondering if this is only exclusive to FW's 4650 or all Sony dedicated graphic cards are underclocked?

How to replace the 9300M GS with a 9600M GT or something that are faster.
There must be a way to speedup the graphic... and we can construct a better cooling design.
I think a faster graphic card, like the 9600M GT, is better for the laptop, because, they have more pixel pipelines and all that.
I think if you underclock the graphic card, it will be much cooler and you can play much better games... in better performance, and much cooler as with the 9300M GS.....
Sony :: Vaio Tz RAM Underclocked
Mar 20, 2009I have a TZ250N with the stock ram. When I check the ram with "memtest" it shows :
177 MHz (DDR 354) / CAS 3-3-3-9 / Single Channel (64 bits)
Normally the ram should be DDR 667 .
I tried to replace the ram with another 2 gig stick from another laptop and I had even worst result 154 MHZ

Apr 3, 2009i just opened GPU-Z to see that the speeds are: 450 mhz clock speed and 700 mhz memory speed.
arnt the stock speeds meant to be 600/700?
i used amd gpu clock tool to put them up to 600/700 but the fan is constantly on and the temps are about 55-58 constantly.
anyone elses 3650 at these clocks? mine is a ATI 3650 HD 512mb GDDR3 version.

Jun 21, 2009Earlier i changed my window vista home premium to window 7, but then i changed it to window vista ultimate.
when i had window 7, my graphics card which is nvidia work perfectly fine, but after i change to window vista ultimate, i " lost " my nvidia driver. i downloaded nvidia driver at ww.nvidia.com but when i tried to install it, i get an error " The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hrdware. Setup will now exit."
I really want to install that driver, i have nvidia graphic card but i cant install the driver

Jul 10, 2009I just want to show you how much overclock you can expect from the HD4650 Mobile graphic card. Wait for 1080P Full HD results.
I don't have external monitor to do 1280x1024 standard test, I'll post the results next week when my monitor arrived.
( Due to poor 128Bit memory controller VGA can't handle 1080P res gaming even with No AA/All settings Low & Crysis FPS stay below 25. However 720P gaming is superb & Crysis stay above 36FPS all time with NO AA/ All Medium setting)

Nov 27, 2009My Z decides to give me a bluescreen whenever it wakes up from hybernation (under stamina and speed) and whenever I try to play newer games such as l4d. Older games such as ut2004 run fine...
I updates the Bios to R2, updated to the nvidia drivers and everything is running fine (brightness etc in both modes).
I was thinking it maybe has something to do with the directx version (11) but that wouldnt explain the wake up blue screen.

I also noticed when I try to change the power settings from high performance to anything else, i get a blue screen as well (system_service_exception)

Mar 27, 2010It seems that I encounter a lot o problems with this new Vaio Z. In device manager everytihg seems to be ok except the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter which by the way has this error code: This device cannot start. (Code 10). Anyway, I guess that the above one is the actual graphics card and that one seems to be ok.

May 2, 2009I'm trying to update my Sony VAIO VGN-CR510D/W graphic's driver (GM965). Intel's site has the newest one 7.15.10.1666 and mine is currently at 7.14.10.1295. I go to "Update Driver" in my Device Manager but It does not find a new one. I downloaded the new one manually but it won't let me install it (Not supported). I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

May 11, 2010I have been using the Vaio Z and it has run flawlessly. I even have been playing games such as Splinter Cell Conviction, Mass Effect 2, Dirt 2, and others. Recently however, I have been having lag issues with my graphics card. It happened first when I was playing Splinter Cell where every 4 seconds it would become choppy. I thought perhaps I was running it too high, but ever at the lowest everything (640 res, lowest everything) I had this stuttering issue. I started having this issue with all the games I use to be able to play perfectly. I have once uninstalled my nvidia drivers, but I reinstalled the nvidia drivers from sonys site and the latest physx drivers from nvidia.

May 6, 2009Does anyone heard a noice coming from the "circuit board" of graphic card when you are running a game or during the gpu test in 3dmark? The sound like "si si si si" is quite annoying.
I confirmed is not the problem of the fan of gpu and guess the noice is from the circuit board of gpu..
Dell :: Graphic Card Is Broken
Nov 23, 2007I'm getting a weird white vertical line , about 2 inches thick, all over my display, it doesn't matter if I'm browsing software, or just at boot screen, the line is there.
Weird thing is, it seems to randomly dissappear sometimes, but appears again when trying to shut down the lappy, is the first time this thing happen to my display and I shuted down my lappy, hoping its propably a heat problem.

Nov 20, 2009i bought a acer gemstone 5920G M laptop a couple of years ago and the graphic card has blown up had someone look at it and he told me to buy a new graphic card to replace the blown one.
The card i need is a Nvidia 8600M GS 512 meg version im finding it difficult to find this card does anyone know of any companies. i did manage to speak to one company and they said they were out of stock but they told me i could use an nvidia 8600M GT card instead.

Jan 4, 2010i have acer 1810tz the problem is when im playing h.264 coded videos in fullscreen mode i have some strange line in the middle of the screen not always just sometimes specialy when there is movening in the video its like the video been divided into to pieces and then tried to put next to each other so it would be one picture,
in original size it works normal i tried all media players you can find and it still there i guess something is wrong with my graphic card

May 7, 2009I purchased an HP G70T directly from hp.com for my husband. I forgot to add the dedicated NVIDIA 256mb graphic card to my order. He's has the notebook for about a week now, and we're looking to see about getting the graphic card added to the notebook. I have contacted hp.com, but I'm getting conflicting answers. One technical support person emailed to say that a graphic card cannot be added after purchase. Another emailed me the link to the HP Parts Store, saying that I could purchase the graphic card there.
So, which is it? Can a dedicated graphic card be added to the HP G70T? Or would I have to send the laptop back as a return/exchange in order to get a G70T *with* the dedicated graphic card?
Dell :: M1330 Graphic Card Warranty Enhancement
Feb 3, 2009Well after just less then a year of service my M1330 was hit by the nvidia failure. With 17 days to ago on the warranty I guess this is the best time for it to happen if its going to.
A quick call to the XPS service line has a new motherboard on the way to be installed.
This is the point were it gets interesting, I asked about the warranty enhancement from the dell blogs here
and was told that policy states because I am having a replacement in warranty I do not qualify for any warranty extension. I questioned the tech rep on were this policy was coming from, but she didn't really have a good explanation of the policy .....

May 9, 2009I have a m1330 laptop with a 8400gs graphic card. I want to know if the card can share the memory, because I have 3 gb of ram.
If it can, I can use games that minimum requirements are 256 mb and take the other 128mb from the ram. If it can, will be best to later upgrade to 4 gb of ram?

Dell :: BAD News, Graphic Card Error After Warranty Is Out
Aug 7, 2007I was playing CoH, the game froze in the middle of a game. Tried to Ctrl Esc to get to windows, only part of the windows task bar showed up. It just stucked there for 2 minutes, and blue screen cam e up with error msg about nv4_disp.dll. So I was forced to shut down and waited 10 seconds to turn on again.
After turned on, I see some dotted lines all over the screen (even in bios), not so much that i can't see the bios, but it's definitely not usable. It tried to load into windows (with the dotted lines the whole time). The screen went blank after the waiting bar of winxp is finished. Nothing happens, so i am forced to shut down and turn back on again.
This time, i went into the diagnose before the windows load, and found the error 5300:0119 in the video memory. Called dell xps canada, I was told it's memory burne and it's out of warrantee , and it would cost me $650 to get 7900 gtx shipped to me to replace it myself.
