I'm about to install itunes 64-bit on my Vaio Z550n but I've heard that some Windows 7 64-bit users are having difficulties syncing up their iphones after doing so.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOriginally i had photos from my iphoto synced up to my iphone. This was when i had the original drive on my mbp. Since then i upgraded to a SSD but i didn't restore from time machine. Recently i synced up my phone again to the new machine and since the photo album didn't exist in the new SSD, itunes erased the album. I don't have the photos on the old drive anymore since i formated the drive. Itunes made a backup of the phone before it synced but i looked through the backup and can't find the photos.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Sony Z116 and love it, the picture quality and speed of this computer compared to my MB Air is awesome. Anyway I don't know if it is a apple thing but since i have installed iTunes on my Vaio (I have a iphone so need iTunes) iTunes is incredibly SLOW, example I want to make a ringtone in iTunes and if I right click on a song to get the songs info it can take 30 seconds to give me that info, normally on my MBA it is instantaneous.
One last thing I bought the Vaio bluetooth mouse and it keeps loosing its signal and I have to reboot to get it again
I know iTunes is full of bugs and I'm really starting to get annoyed but this maybe the straw that puts me over the edge to finding an alternative. I've tried 2 different brands of CD's and even one that was a friggin "Sony CD-R". Still when iTunes burns my disks it'll finish like normal and mount the finished product in the sidebar, and upon first inspection it looks fine but when I play through the CD all the ends of my songs are cut off and some skip and then some are just plain not there (towards the end of the disk).
I've looked at the individual song properties and none of them specify a start or end time and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I know CD's aren't expensive but when I only burn like 1-2 a month, and I buy a five pack and it messes them all up that's money I'm just "burning" (pun intended). Could it be a problem with the buffer under-run? In that case it's HW and I'd need to RMA it to Sony... or is there some special tool I can use to see if I can calibrate the drive or something? the drive in QTS is an Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 with the released firmware update.
What do you all use to convert itunes music to mp3 format? Is there an automator action that can do that? Or what third part software do you use?
My daughter just got an mp3 player, and I want to easily get music onto it as it doesn't support the m4a files in our existing iTunes library.
I am trying to help my parents with their CD collection. A couple of years ago, my dad bought this ridiculous CD player that holds 400 CDs. What should have been a foreseeable problem is that there's really no real way of having any idea which CDs correspond to which numbers. As of right now they lined up the cases and made a photocopy and then numbered the paper printout, but it's just silly and I want to make it simpler.
What I want to do is just put everything into an iTunes library, but since I want it all at audio quality (which iTunes can do, yes?) then I need to keep the library on an external drive. How do I set this up, so that uploaded CDs are automatically store on the external HDD?

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop that has a couple of files I want to keep in sync with the Macbook Pro.
I have one hurdle already down with Dropbox - I sync my important documents/files between the desktop and the Mac. However, I would really like to have my music synced between the two iTunes libraries as well. I did a quick Google/forum search on the issue but it seems like people haven't arrived at a conclusive answer or it involves programming with rsync, which I'm not familiar with at all.
Is it possible to make iTunes store different artist, but same album into 1 folder instead of spreading it out? I hate having multiple folders for the same album in my library. I makes it so confusing when looking for my music.

Now, down the side (taking more space away from my collection views), and I have to go to a menu to select between the different options its lists.....
Honestly Apple, why? Its crappy, out of place and makes me scroll accross because before I actually had enough room to get all the info I needed on my screen (track, artist, album, track number).... now.... not so much!

I'm getting a new computer. My old one is at my parents house and has my entire iTunes library on it. I know I can't just plug my ipod into a new computer and upload the songs onto it, but I'm sure there's a way to transfer the library from my old computer to my new one.
How exactly can I do that? I assume it has something to do with an external hard drive, but I'm not sure.
Forgive me if this a stupid question. I'm a Mac newb. In windows I had my music sitting in my "My Music" folder and Itunes pulled from that. If I deleted something out of there I couldn't listen to the song.
When I got my Mac I moved all my music to the "Music" folder. I then dragged them into Itunes. Some time later I noticed the mp3s seem to be duplicated in the "Music" and "Itunes" subfolders.
My question is: Can I clear out my "Music" folder?

iTunes 9 has neat little new feature: it will automatically import any music or videos you throw into a specific folder.
That folder is called “Automatically Add to iTunes”, and after installing iTunes 9 you’ll find it tucked away inside your “~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/” folder.
Anything you drag into it will be imported into iTunes immediately – and it’s worth noting that the original file (the one you put into the Automatic folder) promptly disappears afterwards. It doesn’t get trashed, but moved to the appropriate place inside the iTunes Music folder.

Also, my iPhone 3G seems to work just fine sending and receiving MMSs, while my girlfriend's iPhone 3GS doesn't seem to work. She can receive MMS, but anytime she tries to send one, she gets a red ! next to the photo saying "Error Sending Message. Try Again". I followed the same procedure to enable MMS as I did on my iPhone. OS 3.1 then updated carrier settings via iTunes 9.0.1.

Anyways, my Dad has this list of purchased apps in his "purchase history". However, when clicking "Check for available downloads" iTunes reports that all the apps have been downloaded.
And no, my dad doesn't have them on his iPhone anymore because it's a jailbroken one and I had to wipe out everything and make it new again.
How do I re-download all his apps (that he bought) from iTunes? and by the way, there's no "Applications" in his sidebar in iTunes, because he has none on his HDD.

Apple iPad users targeted by 'iTunes' virus
It may have only been on the shelves in the US for a few weeks but the Apple iPad has already been hit with a virus.
BitDefender has reported that it has found malware links are being sent to iPad users which disguise themselves as an iTunes update.
The malicious link comes in an email, explaining that if you update your iTunes you will be given "…best performance, newer features and security".
Once clicked, any sensitive data stored on the users' iPad may be used for exploitation.

BitDefender said about the virus in a release: "Identified by BitDefender as Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY, the piece of malicious code inadvertently downloaded injects itself into the explorer.exe process and opens up a backdoor that allows unauthorised access to and control over the affected system.
"Moreover, Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY attempts to read the keys and serial numbers of the various softwareinstalled on the affected computer, while also logging the passwords to the victim's ICQ, Messenger, POP3 mail accounts, and protected storage."
The dodgy link is primed for the iPad as it seems that Mac users are unaffected by the link.
The Apple iPad has a delayed UK release date of 'May' – hopefully without a virus.
When I click "download all free updates" it says that they cant not be purchased because i do not have write access to the iTunes media folder. I do because I checked out all the folders and they say read and write, plus I can add music to the library from other sources than iTunes store without a problem.
