HP Pavillion touch screen windows 8.1
when trying to install the new version of itunes my laptop says 'key not valid for use in specified state' ??? how do i change the state?
I didn't realize that my motherboard was bad from the factory. From the very first day I was unable to do a full factory restore. I would always have to send it in to HP. I was sent a motherboard and after installing it I was able to do a full factory restore. It was amazing... However, I now have this error message on bootup. What exactly does this mean?
When I go into the BIOS, All the information about the system is xxxxxxx. When I go into HP support assistance. The product name, serial number, and product number is yyyyyyyy. I know this is wrong, why?
Pavilion p7-1108p, running Windows 8.1. Wi-Fi adapter keeps disengaging sporadically and for no apparent reason. I open the Network and Sharing Center, and under Active Networks I click on Connections and then on Diagnose. It resets the adapter and all is well. I have two other computers and a tablet on this network, and none of them have this issue. Do I have a hardware issue?
Further info: when I use the TroubleShooting tool to diagnose and reset the Network Adapter, I get 1 of 2 messages. It's either,
"WiFi doesn't have a valid IP configuration <fixed>",
or a two-part message,
" The connection between your access point, router, or cable model and the Internet is broken.<disregarded>” ;
" The default gateway is not available <fixed>"
have a DELL studio 1735 laptop that I upgraded from Vista home premium to Win 7 Ultimate. I formatted the HDD and did a complete install. I also increase the processor from T5600 to T8300. I have a BIOS of A04 and want to upgrade to A05. I get a message "Quote" you can't upgrade to A05 Bios cause your ROM IMAGE FILE IS MISSING. Though it is working fine I need the A05 bios.

in case i connect, some external device through USB to my laptop.

i have HP Pavilion 15-n043ee , after i formatted the laptop i can't install the network driver again.
it is windows 7 - 64 bit , contains ralink radio model RT 3290 .
I updated the HP Assistant and one of the items listed was an update to HP Cool Sense.
I downloaded the file and installed it. No snowflake icon at the lower right.
I went to Start and typed in HP Cool Sense in the search all programs and files box. No snowflake icon. There is an entry at the top listed under Programs, so I clicked that.

I have an HP Pavilion dv5 that cam,e with Win 7 Home Premium. I have upraded the OS to Win 7 Ulitimate.
I now am going to sell the dv5 and want to install the Win 7 Ultimate Upgrade on a different computer. Do I have to deactivate the Win 7 Ultimate upgrade license, or can I just restore the dv5 to factory condition using the Recovery Drive .
And then just install the Win 7 Ultimate Upgrade on another computer?
I keep getting blue screens complaining about igdpmd64.sys x00000050. I noticed on the day that I suddenly started getting blue screens Windows installed a bunch of windows 7 x64 updates. Does the recent windows updates can cause this?
At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
Brightness Hot Keys are not working after installing Win 8.1 x64. Along with this Touchpad Lock also not working. I am using Pavillion G6 2225TU Note Book x64 bit.

Everything is perfect, I downloaded all drivers, internet works fine BUT I've noticed that the speed of my broadband after few minutes goes down by 80%. My broadband speed is 30meg down/30 megs up. Download speed reduces to 2-3megs but upload speed remains the same...
My network card (shown in device manager) is Qualcom Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter. When I uninstall it, Windows automatically detects it and installs it back. Internet speed returns to normal but after few minutes or maybe 10-12 minutes speed again goes down, up speed is unchanged... I deleted it 10 times, all the same, tried to reinstall all ralink drivers found for Win 8 or Win8.1, but Windows says that I have the perfect driver and doesn't install anything else. I removed antivirus just in case, doesn't work. I checked the speed on other computer - no issues there, but on my laptop it persists. On Windows 7 i didn't have this problem, it started after putting Win 8.1.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a HP laptop - pavilion 17-f008sr Energy star (G7Y08EA). There was a Windows 8 operating system installed. To work on that laptop, I had installed a Windows 7 OS (64bit).
Than I started a system, I saw a problem with my USB in Device Manager (universal serial bus usb controller and Sm bus controller). As a result USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 didn't work. I spent a lot of time to find different drivers to try solve that problem, but I still have it. Intel usb drivers and and much similary drivers not working with my laptop or did not installing because I have not right system for much of drivers that I found.
my 12 month old Laptop Pavillion G6 (which has been the worst computer I have ever owned!) is stuck on an update. The screen has been showing the message "Keep your PC on until this is done... installing update 1 of 2" for 12 hours (overnight).
Just over 2 weeks ago it had a problem with connecting to WiFi - which also seemed to be related to Windows updates - I sorted that one out and it has been fine since then. Started an automatic update last night and now it is stuck.
I have an HP Pavilion Sleekbook Touchsmart 14-B132TX. My sound disappeared while I was working using it about a month ago. I phoned HP Hotline and the Tech Support told me to just uninstall it from Device Manager and upon restart, the driver will install automatically. Which I did.
The sound did come back but again it disappeared after about 15 minutes of use, so I called tech support again and they gave me links to HP Support for drivers to download and install which I did and restarted the computer and the sound came back again. BUT AGAIN, the sound disappeared. I phoned tech support and they told me to just do a system restore which I did and the sound came back again. But it again disappeared after about just 7 minutes of use.
These are the drivers I installed from HP's website: sp60642, sp64082, sp60464 and sp64031. After so many reinstallation of drivers. I cleaned my notebook with CCleaner and went to HP Support Assistant in the hope of getting a solution, there was an instruction there to download the QUALCOMM Atheros driver, and I installed again the said driver..The sound reappeared after restarting. AND AGAIN, it disappeared after just using the laptop for just about 3 minutes. This laptop is quite new, just bought it 10 months ago. I'm using the Windows 8 OS.
I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 notebook with a hard drive that is partitioned. One partition contains the recovery program, which will install Windows XP should I ever need it to do so. I have recently installed Windows 7 on the other partition, and believe it would make sense to install Windows 7 on the recovery partition, so that if it is ever needed, it would reinstall Windows 7 rather than Windows XP. How can I accomplish this?

Revovery discs were never generated. The hard drive and ram passed all tests.
I tried to reinstall a new Windows operating system using internal CD , but the system cannot be installed.

What do you all use to convert itunes music to mp3 format? Is there an automator action that can do that? Or what third part software do you use?
My daughter just got an mp3 player, and I want to easily get music onto it as it doesn't support the m4a files in our existing iTunes library.
I just bought a new Sony Z116 and love it, the picture quality and speed of this computer compared to my MB Air is awesome. Anyway I don't know if it is a apple thing but since i have installed iTunes on my Vaio (I have a iphone so need iTunes) iTunes is incredibly SLOW, example I want to make a ringtone in iTunes and if I right click on a song to get the songs info it can take 30 seconds to give me that info, normally on my MBA it is instantaneous.
One last thing I bought the Vaio bluetooth mouse and it keeps loosing its signal and I have to reboot to get it again
I am trying to help my parents with their CD collection. A couple of years ago, my dad bought this ridiculous CD player that holds 400 CDs. What should have been a foreseeable problem is that there's really no real way of having any idea which CDs correspond to which numbers. As of right now they lined up the cases and made a photocopy and then numbered the paper printout, but it's just silly and I want to make it simpler.
What I want to do is just put everything into an iTunes library, but since I want it all at audio quality (which iTunes can do, yes?) then I need to keep the library on an external drive. How do I set this up, so that uploaded CDs are automatically store on the external HDD?

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop that has a couple of files I want to keep in sync with the Macbook Pro.
I have one hurdle already down with Dropbox - I sync my important documents/files between the desktop and the Mac. However, I would really like to have my music synced between the two iTunes libraries as well. I did a quick Google/forum search on the issue but it seems like people haven't arrived at a conclusive answer or it involves programming with rsync, which I'm not familiar with at all.
Is it possible to make iTunes store different artist, but same album into 1 folder instead of spreading it out? I hate having multiple folders for the same album in my library. I makes it so confusing when looking for my music.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm about to install itunes 64-bit on my Vaio Z550n but I've heard that some Windows 7 64-bit users are having difficulties syncing up their iphones after doing so.
Before restoring my entire library I wanted to check:
I know iTunes is full of bugs and I'm really starting to get annoyed but this maybe the straw that puts me over the edge to finding an alternative. I've tried 2 different brands of CD's and even one that was a friggin "Sony CD-R". Still when iTunes burns my disks it'll finish like normal and mount the finished product in the sidebar, and upon first inspection it looks fine but when I play through the CD all the ends of my songs are cut off and some skip and then some are just plain not there (towards the end of the disk).
I've looked at the individual song properties and none of them specify a start or end time and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I know CD's aren't expensive but when I only burn like 1-2 a month, and I buy a five pack and it messes them all up that's money I'm just "burning" (pun intended). Could it be a problem with the buffer under-run? In that case it's HW and I'd need to RMA it to Sony... or is there some special tool I can use to see if I can calibrate the drive or something? the drive in QTS is an Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 with the released firmware update.
I didn't pay for the 3.0 software for my Touch because it wasn't (and still isn't) worth it to me. Everything was fine until the latest update to iTunes came out. Now Yahoo IM, Twitterfon and Facebook won't appear on my Touch. Is my only option downgrading iTunes?
