I have an acer 3680 (aspire)
The FN function key drivers I can not find anywhere......
I have looked and looked launch manager I thought for sure would work but they aren't...
Can anyone help me out with the FN key drivers? for the 3680?
I have everything else installed from launch manager to chip set drivers...still no fn functions...
Considered removing the device, but wonder if doing that would worsen problem when I try to reinstall. Can't seem to find what's wrong.

And now my issues: I cant find drivers for bluetooth.... USBVID_04CA&PID_2009&REV_0112 (wifi works) cant find drivers for...USB2.0 CRW .. Aspire E3-112-C7LY. It had inside windows 8.1 64b. But it was difficult for her, so he bought a Windows 7 Home Edition. I did a disk deep delete and installed them. But... no drivers. I couldn't find drivers for USB ports and many others. How can i get a recovery disk? Because i cleaned totally the disk (delete also the recovery parition on it, been on GPT so i can install the Win7).
Also while in win7, i get a lot of BSOD...
I've bought Lenovo M490s notebook one week ago without OS. I've installed Windows 7 Professional x64 retail.First of all I could not find software that controls Function keys. After installing every driver and software from support page (M490s) my function keys just doesnt work except Fn+F1 sleep, Fn+F2 turn off the screen, Fn+F6 disable touchpad and play buttons. Also no information was displaying on the screen after pressing such buttons - no volume and brightness level.
After doing some research I've found and installed Hotkey Features Integration from Lenovo M490 (without S) support page. Every function key is started to work, information on the screen also begin to display (volume and brightness level).Now I spotted a huge problem, after 3 or 4 hibernation volume and brightness keys (fn+up,down,left,right) just stopping to work!!! Fn+F1-F12 combinations are working normal. Then after reboot brightness and volume keys are working again!!

I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 5935G and downloaded and installed all drivers from the Acer website. I currently am experiencing the following probs:
1. The Acer PowerSmart Button is not working (cannot find drivers / application to make it work)
2. Cannot switch from the onboard video card (Intel) and the "discrete" one which is an ATI Radeon Mobility 4570 HD
- Both video cards are installed

I am working on an Acer 3680 Laptop for my son.
The internal IDE port got fried and cannot be recognized by the laptop so I came up with the bright idea of installing an OS on a USB drive and booting from that.
XP appears to be the only OS that will install onto an external drive. But, when booting with XP, I get a BSOD..
VISTA won't install to a USB drive so I installed VISTA on the external drive using a workstation, but then when I tried to boot up with the laptop, it got the solid B/W bar at the bottom and just sat there.
Is there any option to boot an ACER 3680 with an xternal drive?? Or is this laptop now useless?

I had to format my laptop Vostro 3450 but I cannot get which drivers I have to install to visualize screen icons when a function key is pressed.The keys are working, so if I press Fn+F2 i can switch on-off my wireless connection but before formatting a spash icon was appearing on the screen and now is not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 8 on my HDX 16 and I quickly found out the drivers for the network adapters are not installed by default. When I go to HP's website, there are no drivers for Windows 8, just Windows 7. When I tried installing windows 7 drivers, it told me it was the wrong verson. That was for the Ethernet port. For my wifi, it's telling me I need to have .net framework 2.0 or higher, and won't let me install that driver. After making sure I installed the latest version, it still doesn't detect that I have the latest .net.

Ive searched on ebay for Aspire 3680 mobo but all have different model numbers to mine. My model number is DA0ZR1MB06D1 REV.D. Also on the RAM socket it has another number which is MBAZL060017090E53B2505 and below that it has 31ZR1MB00I0. I cannot find one on ebay with the same numbers as above. Will it make a difference if I get one which has a few numbers/letters which are different to my current one?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a 3680, upgraded to a 320GB hard drive and switched to xp from Vista. Runs great but the speakers sound like they are down in a well literally. Could it be the drivers or do I need to replace the speakers? Anyone else have this problem? The reason I believe the speakers are ok is when I use headphones it sounds the same.

I need step by step instructions on how to dissasemble the notebook. I got it mostly apart but i just can seem to separate the thing in half to access the DC/USB board. Any online resources, videos, manuals that would show this process of dissasembly?

I tried doing a system restore from safe mode and it got stuck I turned it off and tried ALT+F10 and XP started up!
Well....I say it started up. It has been on the WindowsXP start up page with the blue bar on the bottom moving for about 45 minutes.
I can't buy another computerright now nor do I have money to fix it.
Ive had my Acer 3680 since 4/07. I bought it brand new.
I keep it on the charger 85% of the time, and when its not on a/c power, I switch over to "power save" mode.
I was surprised about a month or two ago when my battery icon had a red "X" through it.
It would be there whether it was charging or on battery power. When I switched to battery power, it would be at 100%, but then be down to 7% in like 2 minutes and shut off. I was able to get a new battery on ebay and now I have no problems. I cant help but wonder though, how long are people reporting with their 3680's?
We have a Dell laptop at work that we've had for 5 years with the original battery. Im not trying to diss Acer or anything. It could be I just got a fluke battery. I'd like to see how long your 3680 battery lasted before you had to replace it?
I Bought and Xp Disk but, It doesnt detect my harddrive (Classic Sata Problem)
So I hear there are two ways to get around this...
1.)Change AHCI in Bios, which doesnt work for me because my laptop doesnt seem to have this Option in Bios, so thats out...
2.) And Slipstreaming which I have found drivers that people have refferred to other people but I dont quite understand how they work...(The tutorial I was reading and the drivers I downloaded didnt add up)
So I was hoping someone could give me specific instructions( for my model) for either of these methods to install Xp (Spent lot of cash on the disk dont want it go to to waste)

I recently formatted the hard drive and re-installed Vista.
Upon re-installing, Acer Arcade and all the software that was previously installed is gone.
Where can I download all the Acer Software that I previously had?
I also tried to do a recovery by pressing ALT + F10 at startup and it does nothing, D2D Is enabled.
Basic issue is that all of a sudden the touchpad has stopped working and that little icon that was in the systray has dissapeared. it was working fine a few weeks ago. i currently am using a USB mouse, but i need the touchpad at uni as the desk space is very limited. its a shame this issue has came up now a day before a MAJOR assesment is due, and i cant finnish it because i cant use the mouse at uni.
Anyways, so i have tried the FN+F7 thing, doesnt work. Tried Re installing and rebooting the drivers, still doesnt work. tried a system restore to when it was working. still doesnt work i have basically tried EVERYTHING mentioned on various forums and on google. nothing seems to work. the drivers appear to be installed but wont work for some reason. i will attach photos to the main options so you can see how it appears to me.
there are no bios otpions i looked for those. seriously its so weird, nothing works and its very frustrating! in the past few weeks i have installed adobe illustrator CS3, dont know if that could be the reason for it not working, but i dont think so. I have windows XP SP2. when i try installing the original drivers off a backup cd my dad made, it just installs and does nothing. i downloaded the newest drivers from the website and still the same thing. the program does appear in the program files, and the control panel/add remove, but just doesnt seem to run!
This laptop has new install of WinXP Pro. All drivers are good, and it is working fine. It has a short history of headphones not working when connected.
I have found a fix, if you could call it that. When XP loads, connecting the headphones mutes the speakers, but there is no audio on the headphones. If I close the computer lid down and it drops into sleep mode? When it wakes, the headphones work fine for the entire session. Works every time!
Realtek drivers and software run the audio. I have exhaustively scrutinised all the settings but have found no anomoly.
my acer 3680 had crashed andi has nstalled an xp cd from dell which went fine..but in the device manager under other devices theres yellow question marks next to everything under that tab..drivers i need im sure its all to do with internet not working..but dell driver wont install..so what do i do for these drivers the acer had vista to begin with..evrything else works fine just cant or dont know how to get the drivers..

The yellow exclamation sign shows up next to them in device manager.Out of the 4 USB ports I have, only the two on the right side work.

As you can see, I overclocked my friend's Acer Aspire 3680. The Celeron M 440 went from 1.86ghz to an amazing 2.35, for an increase of 490mhz! Now, this is definitely not going to be the most safe overclock, and it will consume a lot more power and heat up much quicker, but it is just to show how much you can overclock the Acer 3680.
Here is how I did it:
1. Download CPUCool. (Costs $18 to save your stuff, otherwise it won't for the shareware version)
CPUFSB did not work for me but it may work for you. It is free. Try it
2. Install CPU Cool and say yes to a desktop shortcut and running under windows start up. Now, restart your computer as it tells you too.
3. Go to Functions, change CPU FSB, and then select I don't know. A PLL drop down menu should show up.
4. Make sure it is ICS on the left. Then, go down and choose 954310 all the way at the bottom. Click fine tuning, click ok, and then it should show your frequency. If it doesn't show 1866, and a number less, then download Rightmark CPU Clock Utility and select throttling under profiles and set it to 100%. Unforunately you can't change the voltages.
5. Click fine tuning in CPU Cool, now it should show 1866mhz. Just add 60, 10, or .10 or so mhz by click + 60, +10, or just +. I recommend 2000mhz for the best balance of speed, power, and longevity.
6. Check both boxes as the right under Tray Frequency 1. Click set frequency, ok, and then minimize to tray. Do not close, because your clocks will be reset!....
i got the New DC/USB power board today and installed it. Put everything back together and its still Dead. Could something else have been damaged. The old DC/USB board smelled burnt and it had a little smoke coming out by the board. Which led me to believe it had a short and burned up. Now I dont know what do do. Any suggestions to trouble shoot this? I allready got a now AC charger and battery so i know thats not it.
