Acer Aspire One D250 :: Black Screen - PC Don't Work
Dec 29, 2014
I have an Acer Aspire One D250 of 2009 that does not work anymore .. Pressing the power button the computer turns on, the cpu fan starts then stops (as usual) but then nothing happen .. black screen, no error beep, hd stopped, no lights turned on ... I tried to remove ram, hd, battery .. nothing. I decides to change the motherboard and I found one identical new sealed. After installation..same problem !!
Screen went black and turning on off does not get it to work. After searching tried a few of the suggested fixes for other models and no luck. Does not work with external monitor either. Are there any known bios fixes for this model...
The current video bios on the emachines em250 has screen rotation disabled. The emachines em250 is a clone of the acer d250. Anyone know if any of the acer machines allow screen rotation? Tempted to try a bios upgrade. the emachines technical support was horrible, rude, and kept referring me to their pay support service rather than offering any help at all.
I just got an Aspire One D250 netbook. It runs Win XP SP3, but I can upgrade to Vista or Win7.
Does anybody have the Aspire One with Win7? If so, how does it behave? Should I upgrade my memory? Also, the netbook is equipped with the low end embedded Intel graphics chipset, can it hold Win7 or Vista?
I have a problem with my Acer Aspire one D250. One week ago my HDD didnt work and I bought another HDD. I dont have CD for reinstall windows XP that it was installed. Now I wanted to install windows 7 starter but impossible. He says he can not because the BIOS might not be compatible with the operating system and then tells me that if I want to load drivers. I'm a little desperate. I changed in the BIOS mode IDE hard drive to AHCI and vice versa. If I put IDE and try to install windows 7 does not recognize the disk (I have to put in AHCI).
The message I get is:You can not install windows on this HDD. It is possible that the hardware of this equipment is not capable of booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. Another warning he gives is:The installation program can not create a new system partition or locate an existing one. See the log files installation program for more information.
Alright I have looked at every single piece of literature I can find and I am stumped. I have an eMachines EM250 (mechanically identical to the AO D250) and I can not for the life of me figure out what the small card slot on the bottom of the computer is. I know the memory slot and the HDD slot but the third slot is a mystery. I think it is a mini-PCI slot for a solid state memory module but I'd like to find a definitive answer before I go any further.
I just got my Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G-75NJ today and I find that the backlit keyboard doesn't work... I type Fn + F9, and no reaction at all. I wonder if there has any solutions or I have to send it back. Also, I found that there has a tape written with "Opened" on the case... I wonder what is that mean... Moreover... why there has a paper lip stuck in the gap on the surface... But the biggest problem is how can I activate the backlit keyboard?
how can i fix acer aspire V5-572? it turns to blackscreen/blank screen after i've downloaded an application? i turn it off but when i tun it goes still the same..
My problem is that when i start up my Laptop (its about a week old) i just get a black screen and nothing else. The only way of solving this problem is to take out the power lead and the battery and start it up again. I dont want to have to do this everytime i start up my laptop.
This first happened after my laptop crashed (Frozen screen bussing through speakers) there was a lot running at the time, virus updates, windows updates etc.
just got my replacment 1810tz. last book had some trouble with the keyboard. now the brand new just wont boot up. has some fan blowing and once harddisc access and then nothing. i already tried Fn + F5/F6 keys, no result. also attached via hdmi to monitor - but not any flickering. even let it lay there for some hours wiithout batterypack attached. no result.
how to remove the bios battery, maybe this could solve it...?
I've been experiencing a few issues recently with my Acer Aspire V5 so I did a return to factory settings (Full wipe).
I've come home today and the screen keeps on going black even though the computer isn't asleep. I move the mouse, and I see the desktop again, but then after less than a second, it goes black again.
My aspire s3 screen suddenly goes black. When I connect it to HDMI I can see the display on the HDMI device. When I disconnect HDMI the screen display comes back but again goes black after some time. It is a hardware problem or some settings to be done. This display problem happens when I restart or power on the note book.
My acer aspire v5 is on black screen. This happened when i forced it to shutdown while a disk check up is on progress, coz it stuck up for about an hour it didn't even move an inch. my function keys are not working.

There is no screen saver applied. This is probably user error, but how do I resolve without having to take it to the repair shop.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium preinstalled (with no installation nor recovery disks delivered).
I accidently hit the arcade button on the cinedash panel, instead of the power button. The computer started directly up into arcade deluxe, after a short install. Nice feature
I thought, and choose to exit arcade through the exit feature. Then I noticed that the computer prepared to hibernate, but instead it shut off after it finished.
After turning the computer on, a small complaint about improper closing the computer popped up, and I choose to start windows normally. Now the boot loader ran, and when I expected the logon screen, instead I met a black screen with a working mouse cursor. I eventually had to force power down, since crtl alt delete didn't work.
Since then, all boot options, safe mode etc leads to the same black screen.
Vista looks like it's going to boot normally then goes to a black screen with a working mouse pointer. The hard disk light just pulses every couple seconds.
I tried extracting the battery but it doesn't work.
I tried to alt+f10 - Vista Recovery page, so it gives me menu called "Edit Boot Options". There is the path to winload.exe and this: "Partition: 2 Hard Disk: b8f0ffa4
[ /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN ]" That's all what I have when I press ALT + F10.
I could type "Enter" = nothing happened "Esc" = shutdown the system "F8" = go to recovery page.
Hit f8:
Goes to a "Vista system recovery" or something like that, i'm not quite sure what its name was. Anyway it had about 6 options, including "Get windows to check for and correct the faults on your disk" in a little bit more high tech talk. And "Restore to a earlier point". Since the "Checking and correct faults" said it was recommended, i thought i'd go for that.
It ran its tool, told me to click the restart button. Runs it again, tells me to restart again.
And now it enters its final state - Its virtually dead :|. If i turn it on, it will go to the black screen, that talks about an improper shutdown, with the options for Safe Mode, Safe mode with networking.. etc. Any of these 4 options all result in the same black screen displaying only the mouse cursor.
I was not trying to install or upgrade nothing, was not trying to change form vista to xp or so.
I have not deleted any hidden partition (as far as I know...)
After logging in I get stuck in a black screen with cursor. Have tried shift or control with f8 and f12 to get out of this with no success. Understand I may have to reinstall video driver or BIOS?
If I leave laptop on all day it is working by the time I get home from work.
I know I have read several posts about this issue but Cntl+shift+Esc not solving issue. Notebook with black screen upon startup. I hear Windows 7 booting up but have a black screen. Was troubleshooting a monitor issue again when black screen happened.
Purchased in 2009 with free upgrade to Win 8.1 Pro. Has been a great computer up to now. On power up, LED's and fan come on but screen is black. Can not see anything behind screen when shining a torch on it. Has worked twice since fault appeared, once on re-boot and once when pressing DEL key. Replaced battery on motherboard and tried combinations of the two RAM boards. Still not working. Have recovery disks, but they are for the old Vista software.
I have a relatively new Aspire E1-522. Was in the middle of watching Netflix when it conked out. Now, when I turn the power on very little happens...the blue light comes on, the fan comes on and the screen backlight comes on...and then goes out...and then comes on again...etc.
Basically, turning it on doesn't even get to the Acer logo. Cannot get into the BIOS by any means. In my research this sounds exactly like the Aspire One black screen of death, although I haven't found references to it with respect to the E1.
I think the BIOS is fried. How to re-flash it on the E1-522? I cannot boot windows, so I can't use the self-extracting EXE. I need to be able to flash it from the bare bones hardware like the fix for the AA1 ....
I have repaired a few laptop in my time so when a friend said his screen was black but he could read it with a flashlight I guessed right away it was an inverter problem.
I got a new inverter off of *bay, carefully removed the display bezel, swapped in the new inverter and powered it up. Successfully boots into Windows ! Shut it down, screwed the inverter down, put the bezel back on and now the display comes on for 1 second, just long enough to see that "Acer" splash screen, and then goes black. Yes you can still read the screen with a flashlight.
Checked the power in and out wires, they look good. Re-seated both connectors. unscrewed the inverter board from the display so that it is :floating". Nothing. Swapped in the old inverter and it acts the same ?
I have an acer 7513 wsmi the screen went black no backlight. It worked using the blue video cable connected to a TV. I replaced with a new screen now have a backlight but no images etc. still works with TV though. I up put windows 7 on it so it has no acer drivers at all. I have tried alt 5 etc but no joy.
When powering up I get the Acer screen for about 10 sec and then black screen. Immediately before this there was a Windows update for the graphics card, if I remember correctly. I have tried hard power down 3 times but on the 4th time I do not get the message "preparing for automatic repair". I am unable to get into Safe Mode.
So my Acer Aspire e5 571 which ive been using for about 3 days just had a windows update. Now it starts up fine but I get a black screen once I log in. However some programs are still able to see and popup randomly. I also tried going into my bIOS but it asks for a password which I do not know.
I have an Acer Aspire 5517 that was turning itself off and few weeks ago, which I wrote to the community about. It stays on now, but the screen is black. I was able to update the BIOS before it went black permanently. It does turn on, but nothing comes up on the screen..How do I trouble shoot it, when I can't see anything???
Aspire 9410 no operating issues but sometimes when booted only black screen Whenever this happens, I connect an exterior monitor and then the screen on my comp pops back on and will stay on even after I disconnect the exterior. It doesn't do this all the time and will flicker (rarely) when in use but never goes completely out when in use. Anyone know why this is and how I can get rid of this problem permanently (outside of getting another computer!)
Notebook used very little, so jam shocked at the dysfunction I've experience since a recent windows update. Was looped in a repair function, and I was able to restore. Now it powers on, fan runs but black screen and no keyboard function.
I have an Acer 7535-5020 that will not boot up. A few times prior to this happening it said that Windows was not shut down properly - this was right after a batch of Windows updates was installed. Now, it will not start at all. I have tried pressing every F button in hopes of it catching the Bios - we had noticed a few times that it was not set to start from the hard drive and changed it but for some reason it was not holding the changes, we think.I have googled and found that many Acer's (different models) seem to run into this problem and for many, it seems that something called flashing the Bios takes care of the issue. I would like to know which Aspire 7535 model BIOS I need to use as well. I think there are 2 different models listed.
I attempted to update my bios for my Acer Aspire 5745 notebook and chose the wrong file. The computer is giving me a black screen now. When I push the start button the lights come on the fan blows and thats all. I found a few sits on line giving me the procedure to flash an aspire one system. Here is the steps I took to do so to no avail.
1. When to the acer site and put the SNID number to my laptop to pull up my suggested downloads for my system. 2. I downloaded the file to my working computer. 3. I extracted the file and opened the file that said DOS. 4. I renamed the file zg5ia32.fd 5. checked my flash drive to make sure it is set to ( FAT ). 6. Transferred the file to the flash drive. 7. Pluged in the flash drive to my dead laptop while it was pluged into a powersorce. 8. Held down the FN and ESC buttons while pushing the power buttons. 9. Released the FN and ESC buttons when I noticed the power light blinking and the flash drive light up. 10. Waited for over 15 min. but had no success.
I also opened up the backside to the laptop and removed the little battery that was plugged it with a small white connector assuming it was the cmos battery but still nothing happened.
