I have an Acer Aspire One and thought I read somewhere that the SD card that fits in the slot on the left side of the machine could be used as RAM but haven't been able to find out how.
Did I imagine this and if not how do you enable it?
I have that laptop but mine is the upgraded 4gigs from 3 gigs of RAM. I'm extremely impressed with its performance so far!
My question is: Is it possible with this laptop/model to get an aftermarket graphics card? Or is that out of the question? I guess I'm just trying to get the best possible game performance out of this notebook.
I have a 5652 but no restore disks or restore partition. I cannot for the life of me get the tv card working, despite trying all the drivers from the acer website. I have no idea which card it is, apart from either a Liteon or Avermedia, but as I say, all the drivers from the acer web site come back with a code 10, device cannot start. I have been told that this is defo a driver problem, and once the correct one is installed, the card will work.
I have also changed Windows xp home to xp pro, and acer told me this could be a problem, and also don't have acer arcade, but have a couple of other apps that should be compatable. Is there any way of getting a hardware list from my lap top?
I purchased an Acer Aspire 5100 using it mostly for busines and writing. Now, I'd like to watch some videos, have an webcam, and play games, however, the integrated video card handles none of this well. It's slow and will sputter on something as simple as a short 60 second video clip.
I maxed out the 4GB Ram, thinking that Vista was using too much but it did not help.
Then I discovered this:
Quote:
For gaming, the graphics speed is enhanced care of the ATI Radeon Xpress 1100graphics card, with 128 MB dedicated memory. The card can tap into an additional 384 MB from shared system memory, for a total of 512 MB.
I did some research and found that I could go into the BIOS and change the memory from 128 to 512. I tried it, found the setting, changed it, and thought I'd find success. However, Vista somehow read these actions as an error and a failure to start, and would not start........................
I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 with the Mobile Intel GMA X3100 in it as standard on the motherboard. Granted this isnt a great card for a lot of (or any) modern games, but I was wondering if it's possible to have another (better) graphics card put in it?..
Maybe a better processor too, because its got a Celeron 550, but the graphics card is priority at the mo.
I have recently become aware that my 5920G has an upgradeable graphics card. Mine is currently an Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS 256MB. What cards can I upgrade to?
I am just wondering if my Acer Aspire 8930G has an integrated TV card or not... i believe its one of the lower-end 8930's
The product number is: 54G32Bn here are the specs; Intel Centrino 2 T5800 NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS (512MB) 4GB DDR3 RAM 320GB HDD inc. Blu-ray disc drive. 5.1 surround sound.
On the right hand side of the Laptop there is a TV-in port next to the Kensington lock slot.
I turned on the machine today and instead of the windows login page I was presented with a black screen with many strange characters. I dont understand what happened
I have used the GParted cd on this machine so I put that in and it crashed too.
i just recently bought this laptop and was first satisfied with it's features.
But then.... 64MB of system video memory?
Come on Acer. And so I was thinking if I could add some graphics like buying a decent video card for it.
I heard that video cards for laptops are in PCI express.
Can my Acer use it?
IF and only IF this Acer Aspire doesn't have the ability to use a new video card, is there any other way I could improve its graphics like getting some of the built-in shared memory and putting it in the video?
I have an Acer Aspire 5585WXMi laptop, approx. 2 yrs old purchased in Singapore. It came with Intel's standard Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and I was wondering if there was any possibility of upgrading to the NVidia GPU? When I purchased the laptop I could have paid a little bit extra for the NVidia add-on but decided against (regretting now) so as far as I can tell it should be possible to add on the GPU module?
Just bought one of these ACER ASPIRE 7720G laptop's from ebay afew days back. It comes with the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS, but i'm wondering if it's possible to upgrade this card with something that packs more of a punch.
If it is possible, what would be the ideal card for this setup?
The processor is the Intel® C2D T7300 Processor, 2 gb ram, 250gh hd space.
I know there has been a lot of threads questioning this and generaly speaking most people have said it is not possible, but i really dont want to believe it as its the only thing that lets my laptop down!
computer specification
processor: intel core 2 duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz Memory: 2GB OS: vista home premium Graphics card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family
is it possible to upgrade this graphics card?
if i cant then what would my best option be to have the same sort of specification as my current laptop, but with a decent graphics card? or invest in getting a desktop?
what this intel graphics card thing is and why it is so terrible for playing games?
Recently my Aspire 9113 started producing screen corruption during the boot process, looking something like an old version of space invaders, (text mode blocks) and then a hatched pattern in XP. It also would crash with a BSOD driver error related to the video driver. I removed the driver (FX Go7600 card) and at least the computer worked with the exception of the screen being slow to render.
I subsequently decided to investigate the BIOS and as a random act of faith decided to reset the BIOS to default settings. Since this, when the machine boots the screen is blank(black) during POST and XP boot up. I can still login to XP so I assume that everything else is OK.
As I removed the driver I don't think I can switch the display to an external LCD although if the card really is gone then I guess this wouldn't work.
I currently have a: Acer Aspire E Â Model Name: Aspire E5-511-P2D6Part Number: NX.MNYAA.002 Â Windows 8.1Intel Pentium N3530 Quad-core (4 Core) 2.16 GHz15.6" HD (1366 x 768) 16:9Intel HD Graphics with Shared Memory8 GB, DDR3L SDRAM1 TB HDD Â Is there a way that i can change my video card memory. It says im using 32MB but my maximum is 1792MB. How to I make it run at 1792MB?
I just want to know if my laptop video card is upgradable? I have the 4745G core i3 330M with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 514 VRAM. I want to know if it is possible to upgrade it to 1Gb or 2Gb any brand of video card.
i'm looking towards the future when the 240m graphics card that comes with the laptop will be obsolete. is it possible to change out the 240m mxm graphics card for the 260m?
Alright I have looked at every single piece of literature I can find and I am stumped. I have an eMachines EM250 (mechanically identical to the AO D250) and I can not for the life of me figure out what the small card slot on the bottom of the computer is. I know the memory slot and the HDD slot but the third slot is a mystery. I think it is a mini-PCI slot for a solid state memory module but I'd like to find a definitive answer before I go any further.
Recently bought a Acer Aspire Nitro v15 with windows 8.1 with a qualcomm atheros ar5bwb222 wireless network card. The connection is really unstable and often disconnects and have very few bars. This is not from the router since the connection on my phone and other computers are fine. The connection (when i have it) is also really slow compared to when i use my phone on the same network. I tried updating the drivers but it says my latest drivers are installed. Could this be a Windows 8.1 problem? this is my first time owning a windows 8.1 computer.
I have tried everything to get this SD card reader to work but to no avail. Even a fresh install of W7/32 ... nothing... Every time i insert an SD card in the slot... i get a message. USB device not recognized ... one of the usb devices has malfunctioned & Windows does not recognize it... I am also just using a 2 g SD card not an sdhc card.
In the Device Manager.... it shows up as "unknown device" yellow highlight... try to update the driver ... says i already have the best driver..... when i take the sd card out...unknown device disappears... i have also re-installed the drivers from here for the card reader... but nothing....
Furthermore... it seems to lead to an error code 43 ..
