Nov 17, 2014Flight mode won't switch off - it's greyed out and is ON.I've Googled the issue and an upgrade to the BIOS was recommended - it took me from 2.6 to 2.9 (I think) but still stuck on flight mode so no network connections to my printer etc. This is a fairly new machine. Upgraded to Windows 8.1.

Oct 28, 2014I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat Bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.
The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

and updating the bt driver downloaded from the ACER Drivers and Manuals webpage. However, the installation procedure were interrupted as the installed bt driver appears to be "later".

Just finished installing all drivers in Win XP but I can't get the HDMI audio to work.
When I go to "Control Panel" then "Sounds and Audio" and change to "NVIDIA HDMI Audio" the volumebar is down at its lowest and the entire bar is "greyed out". Also if I play some music I hear a "thumping" sound from my TV:s speakers.
The driver I am using is 1.0.0.30 taken directly from the drivercd that I burned out together with recoverydiscs so its an "orginal" Acer (although Vista) driver.
I have also tried 1.0.0.26 to no luck.
My graphic driver is 180.70 with the modded .inf from Laptopvideo2go.
The other device is "Realtek HD Audio output" and it works fine, that driver ought to be me primary audio driver if I'm not misstaken.

If you look very, very closely the desktop display seems to be there but we don't know how to change the colour/contrast etc. Is it as simple as that do you think or is the problem deeper. Whenever I run games or graphics-intensive program such as the adobe premier pro, the program will continue to run using the Intel HD graphics and not the Nvidia driver.
I've tried changing the settings in the Nvidia control panel to use Nvidia graphics driver for all programs, but running the optimus tool will show me that the Nvidia GPU is not being used for any of the programs.

After two days, I could not get on internet anymore due to some proxy server errors. I also noticed there were many junkies installed.
So, I would like to have a complete clean up by resetting it to factory defaults. The Amazon box did not come with any system CD.

When you adjust the brightness on your device (any laptop or tablet) in 8.1, how many steps is it from dimmest to brightest? The brightness bar goes up many steps, but after doing function + arrow keys 3 or 4 times im already at max brightness from the bottom. It feels like there should be many more increments of brightness.

Mar 2, 2015I have problem a with my Switch 10. The internet connection drops frequently. It is followed by the signal strength icon showing 'Limited'. I then turn off WI-FI and turn back on and it does not recognize any networks at all. I then go into network settings, run the troubleshooter and it does its stuff, re-setting the network adapter, and then informs me that it could not find an issue. After resetting the adapter it works fine again.I have tried uninstalling and installing latest drivers but the problem persists. The problem lies within the adapter itself or the driver.
My adapter shows as being REALTEK and i read on here of similar problems with the Broadcom adapter, which makes me think that the driver is causing the problem. Someone suggested that the Bluetooth was causing a conflict, so I removed bluetooth and it made no difference. (I have re-installed bluetooth. All drivers are latest ones.My switch is not a month old yet and this happens a couple of times a day. and am close to returning the product. I like it, but cannot put up with such an important issue as the internet randomly dropping.

Dec 26, 2009My girlfriend gave me a brandnew Aspire Timeline 1810TZ with build in G3 (UMTS) for Christmas. When i played around with the preinstalled system (Windows 7 Home Premium x64), I could use the hardware switch in the front of the chassis to enable/ disable the build-in G3-Module.
But as you know, the preinstalled OS are normally very slow, so i formatted the System and installed Windows 7 Professional x64. After installation of all drivers from the Acer website, the switch for enabling the G3 didn't worked anymore! I reformated again with Windows 7 Home Premium x64, but there was the same Picture: No, response from the G3-Switch.
The funny thing is: G3 and WLAN share the same physical hardware switch (you have to flip it to the left to enable/disable G3, and to enable/ disable WLAN you have to flip it to the right).
Flipping the switch to the right activated WLAN without any problem!
I have no idea how to fix this (tried every driver i could find).

Nov 15, 2014So, I've had this problem from some time now. When I put my switch 10 to sleep, and then re-open it, the keyboard is not working anymore, like it has problem recharging drivers. Same issue happens sometime when I use it in tablet mode and then reconnect the dock to it, I've a very hard time trying to make the keyboard and touchpad working again. The fact is that the usb port on the dock doesn't seem to have any problem at all, only the touchpad and the keyboad. I can't figure out if that's a software or an hardware problem.

It downloads anywhere from 60% to 95% of a particular download, then goes no further even though it indicates it is still downloading. I have left it in this "downloading" state for 10 minutes with no further progress. Of the few smaller zip files it did download completely, I got an error message of "Unspecified Error # 0x80004005" when it tried to unzip some of those.

Jul 2, 2014I have this problem of wireless in my 15R 5537. I upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 recently only to know that wireless driver was incompatible. I then visited the Dell support site and downloaded the wireless driver for the model i'm using and the OS installed. But when I tried to install it I got "Activate Bluetooth using wireless switch" error message.
I didn't know what wireless switch was since (fn+f2) was not working either. I came to know that there is wireless option in bios menu from various posts. But there was none in my laptop under "Advance" option in bios menu. I run bios version A08.
I tried to reinstall old windows 8(with a different CD this time) but wireless didn't work in this one either...

Jan 24, 2010Just wanted to share my upgrade experience with my Aspire 4736z. My model did not come with bluetooth installed from the factory and it only has 3 usb ports and I wanted to keep them as free as possible.
So I found a place that sells the bluetooth module and cable needed.
I installed the module and cable and everything works great. Installed the driver and now my bluetooth button works as it should.
