Acer :: New AS1410 2GB Memory

Oct 6, 2009

I just purchased an AS1410 and have been researching memory modules. Amazon has one for $32, which is a 200 pin 667 Mhz stick. I bought the laptop from ebiz and they have several modules for sale but don't list exact applications. They list a DDR2-667 SODIMM 2GB/128x8 Value Notebook Memory; is this the memory that will fit my AS1410?

Acer :: AS1410 4400mAh 11.1V Battery

Nov 29, 2009

I see where one can get the 5600mAh battery for the 1810 for $90 [url], but cannot find the smaller capacity battery anywhere.

I keep find batteries for the 15" 1410 that has a 14.8V battery, but nothing for the 11" 1410

I am still waiting for my 1410 to be shipped, but know I need an extra battery for international flight.

Does anyone have a part number or link to where one can be purchased for a reasonable price?

UPDATE 12-3-2009
==============
After receiving the as1410 I have found the following:

AS1410 ships with the battery model number: UM09e31 - 6 Cell Battery
A 5600mAh Replacement Acer UM09E31 6 Cell Battery can be purchased for $90 here:
[url]

AS1810 ships with battery model number: UM09e36 - 6 Cell Battery
A 5600mAh Replacement Acer UM09E36 6 Cell Battery can be purchased for $85 here:
[url]

I would assume these two replacement batteries are actually the same, since they have the same specifications and nearly the same cost.

Found one post that said the battery for the Acer Aspire One 751 may fit, but the bulge on the bottom would be on the back instead of middle of the battery. I am not sure if this will work or not, but the batteries have the right voltage and cost a lot less. It has a part number of um09b31 and can be found lots of place with various capacities.

Acer :: AS1410 (Comparison With Asus N10J)

Sep 23, 2009

I owned an Asus N10J-A1 for about a year and ended up selling it. It was a great little machine, but I didn't really think I needed a netbook any more. Plus I grew tired of issues with the stupid 1024x600 resolution and anemic Atom N270. It was a fun toy to tweak, but in reality, it wasn't practical. Nice to have a strong GPU like the 9300m GS but the other components really didn't push it to its full potential. Plus watching flash based video like Hulu and YouTube was less than ideal, manageable, but not ideal.

My biggest issues with netbooks have been the keyboard size, screen resolution, and enough CPU power for flash video (i.e. Hulu, YouTube, etc). This notebook seems to correct that. The keyboard looks close to having regular size keys, and the screen resolution is at least somewhat normal (16:9 and with compatability with 1024x768). The CPU is much more powerful than the Atom can ever want to be, and battery life isn't compromised really. I think it's better on this Acer than the N10J anyhow.

I was waiting for the ION platform, but it seems that will be a while and still contains the Atom CPU. It will have its caveats as well to work out. Since I realize it would be nice to have a smaller, lighter notebook with a longer lasting battery, I decided on the Acer AS1410. I have ordered it but haven't received it yet. The specs to me are perfect, and dimension-wise it's not much bigger than the N10J (only 0.4" longer and wider).

Here's the specs:

Acer AS1410
CPU: Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 @ 1.4GHz
Chipset: Intel GS45
Screen: 11.6" 1366x768
Memory: 2GB expandable to 4GB (comes with 2 slots, and only one populated with a 2GB module - nice!)
Hard Drive: 250GB 5400RPM
GPU: Intel GMA 4500MHD
Network: Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
Ports: 3xUSB, 1xVGA, 1xHDMI, 1xMic, 1xheadphone, 1xwebcam, 1xcard reader
Battery: 6-cell
No Optical Drive
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium.............................

Acer :: Aspire One 752 11.6" "Netbook" (Formerly Known As The AS1410)

Mar 17, 2010

Looks like Acer is moving the Acer Aspire 1410 notebook line into their netbook segment with the Aspire One 752. The 752 looks identical to the 1410 and will ship with the same Celeron processors as the current 1410 line.

There is also a new TimelineX 1830T which looks like it might be replacing the 1810s.

Dell :: Memory Speed Affecting Windows Experience (memory Operations)

Oct 13, 2008

A friend just showed me his new Dell Vostro lappy. He has 4 GB of DDR2 800mhz memory on it when compared to my 4 GB of DDR2 667mhz memory on my XPS 1530

However, under his windows experience score - he gets 5.9 score for memory operations while I just get a 5.1. I can't believe that a couple of hundred mhz can result in such a drastic difference.

Is there something optimized for his system but not for mine?

HP EliteBook 8540w :: Identifying Correct Memory Slot For RAM Upgrade To Enable Dual Channel Memory

Jan 12, 2015

I just purchased a used Elitebook 8540w with i7 quad core and four memory slots (I love it!).  It is running 64 bit Windows 7 Professional  It came with one 4gb memory module and I purchased an additional 4gb module to bring total RAM to 8gb.

I have the HP document that shows for two 4gb memory modules, one should be in memory slot 1 and the other in memory slot 3 for correct functioning of dual channel memory.  All set right?

Not quite.  In the Elitebook 8540w, the primary memory slots under the keyboard are clearly labeled "1" and "2"  However, the expansion memory slots on the underside of the chassis are also clearly labeled "1" and "2"  Opps!  There is no "3" and there is no "4"  In which of the unfilled three slots do I install the second 4gb module for correct functioning of dual channel memory?

Acer :: 5315 Memory Upgrade

Jun 22, 2009

I've just completed a CPU upgrade on my 5315 (to a T7300, which took 15 minutes!). I'm now thinking of upgrading the memory from my current 2GB @ 667 MHz (with the new CPU the memory runs at 667 MHz rather than 533 MHz with the old CPU) to 2GB @ 800 MHz.

However, I've read that the performance increase between 667 MHz and 800 MHz is very little, thus, it's not worth spending the money, even if it is only $AUD40.

Can anyone provide any input, benchmarks or experiences?

Acer :: Aspire 5517 Memory

Oct 18, 2009

I recently purchased a 5517-5779 from best buy. Got a nice deal on it and i think im starting to see why...its only a 160gb HD which im kinda kicking myself for getting. To start with i was sitting at about 105gb with nothing of my own installed.

a week later im sitting at 99.6gb. i have still installed nothing. i have used many HP's and havent had this problem.. there seems to be a memory leak somewhere. Are these prominent with Acer products? I should have familiarized myself with Acer a bit more before purchasing one of their products. If i could resolve this issue i would be 100% satisfied with my newest purchase.

ETA-The pc has already had the geek squads "optimization and restoration" done.

Acer :: Aspire 7720G Memory Cover

Sep 20, 2008

I wanted to open my box to check the ease (or not) of a memory upgrade but had a helluva sweaty time trying to get the compartment cover off.

After undoing the 4 screws and getting it open a bit, it still seemed VERY firmly held in the vicinity of the fan vent area.

The plastic cover is pretty thin and I was terrified of breaking it, so tried a little prying, a bit of heaving, some levering, tugging, jabbing, swearing, praying etc. I even had the computer overturned and was looking for a way through the keyboard where I was convinced that a bolt must be holding the memory cover down.

Anyway it DID finally come loose but it was a bit scary, so I've made a couple of scans and added some notes on the lugs which were holding it in place in the hope that it might prove useful to others in the same predicament.

One scan is of the actual lid and the other is of what's inside, in case you get to feel like pushing a screwdriver in there - (don't).
