I am having trouble enabling wireless on my Acer Aspire 5612WLMi. The sliding button on the front of my laptop does not appear to be working and is saying No device detected. My husband's laptop has had no troubles picking it up so assume it is something with mine. I am running Windows XP.
Initially configuration was easy (through available connections)and i could use net at ease. Bue couple of days I happened to "Disable" two network which used to connect automatically the moment i used to turn my laptop ON.But after that, I never saw them in the available connection. Although i can see those network available on my phone, but on laptop i unable to detect them. I tried configuring them by using "wireless network connection properties" and i could even chnage their preference too. I tried disabling/enabling wireless network, but its not working at all.But at the same time I can see coupls of other wireless network which are in range, but i can not connect to any of those as they dont belong to my hotel.
I have a laptop (Acer Aspire 5583) which support VT and is locked off. I have tried enabling in the Bios Setup but there is no option to turn it on. I have written to Acer for help but they ain't helpful.
I am running VMware and need the VT to be enable. Wonder if anyone have an idea how to go about enabling it?
My laptop specs as follows: Acer Aspire 5583 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500, 1.66 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB Intel Mobile 945GL Express Chipset Motherboard Phoenix Bios v1.3508
I was playing around with some settings of the software that came with my EM770W 3G module of my 1810TZ.
Now I am able to submit USSD codes and to abuse my 1810TZ as a phone

This could be simply accomplished by editing some configuration files. So notepad.exe is the "hacking tool" of choice
Make sure, you back up these files before editing them. Also, some files are write protected, so you need to change this before the modification. It is recommended to re-apply the write protected flag when you're done.
Enable USSD support
Step 1: Navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Acer 3G Connection Managerconfig Edit file: PluginsConfig.xml In section
PHP Code:

just bought a computer: Acer Aspire 5739G wireless card: intel wifi link 5100 -all drivers up to date
when i started to connect my wireless network 9 feet away(it has full connection) it said could't connect to network. Then i desided to try right beside the router and it worked. then when i walked from the router(5 feet) the connection sais limited connection. 8 feet no connection the same happened when i tryed to do it at my friend.
I bought an Acer Aspire one, it is perfect, it works perfectly when connecting to the internet if i have the power supply plugged in.
I take the power supply out and the screen dims.... no internet, or the internet i have is working, non working.....
I have tried the settings, i have tried redoing the wireless connection... its just not happening! Im close to taking it back to the shop as i have only had it three weeks!
got the laptop and everything works great except the wireless. It connects to wireless fine, but if it goes into standby mode (like when you shut the cover or leave it for a wile), I am not able to get the wireless mode to come on. I press the easy launch button that enables and disables the wireless. After pressing the button, it says wireless enabled or disabled, but nothing happens, the orange light does not come on, and it doesn't even try to connect. When I manually serach for networks, it doesn't see any.
It's like the wireless function is still disabled. I have no problem connecting if I reboot and no problems with other laptops connecting.
i recently got an Aspire 6930g , very nice lappy etc, the only issue i have is , when i'm using the wireless and the laptop is not on charge , the wireless will disconnect itself , then reconnect, 3 times already whilst typing this, edit 4 times , it doesn't matter how much charge is in the battery , it still does it
when on charge the wireless works perfectly , i've had my other Acer laptop connected at the same time , and that works ok whether on charge or not , so its deffo something in the 6930
changed settings as much as i could , but to no avail
I recently purchased an aspire 1410 and have found the wireless card to be extremely unstable. Unless I am standing within 3 ft. of the modem/router, I lose the signal.
Not what you imagine when you purchase a netbook to use around the house. And I have had another notebook that picked up the signal flawlessly, so this is either the wireless card in this machine or a driver issue.
The Aspire One is a great machine that, for me, was mildly crippled by a finicky Wi-Fi connection. There has been some discussion about this on other parts of the web. For some people, the actual wireless module turns on and off occasionally. For other people, the wireless connects and works just fine, but then won't work for a few minutes - but doesn't disconnect from the router. After a brief wait, the internet works again.
I had the problem of the module remaining connected but not working. Fooling with various settings helped, but it was still not as good as it should be, so I decided to replace the module with an Intel 4965AGN wireless module. This is the easiest fix for those who have this problem and have been frustrated by a solution. I say "easy," because it was easy to spend $35 for the module on eBay and install it, rather than spend another 3 hours fiddling with the settings.
I followed the disassembly guide here to take the keyboard and top panel off. This guide is great, and the author did a nice job with the descriptions..............
I want to disable the wireless lan from connecting to the internet every time I reboot the computer. It is driving me nuts with all the securutiy connections and I think it makes my laptop crash, because it is trying to do stuff.... Actually I have no idea, I just dont want to have to push the disable wireless lan connection every time I reboot.
I would like to push the button to connect to wireless lan if I so choose to do so.
I'm having probs connecting wireless my Acer Aspire 8730. I had this issue 5 days into buying this laptop. It seems to be an intermittant problem as sometimes it connects fine but other times it doesn't. Sometimes it finds other available networks but not my router. Comet sent the laptop back to Acer who insist there's not a problem with the network card. I did find a setting on my router for extended range that we have checked but the problem still persists. If I connect via the ethernet cable then no problems but if I sit the laptop next to the router it still doesn't connect wireless. It seems to have completely lost the plot over Christmas and can now find absolutely nothing wirelessly. I could try changing the router but I'm a bit loathed to do this as we have aother laptop that runs fine via my router. I'm not sure where to go from here as I know both Comet and Acer will deny there's a problem.
I got an Aspire 1360...has worked great since the last month. The wireless has been having a mind of its own. All of my other wireless computers are working and theres no router conflict. I can stand right beside the router and there will be no connection. I took out the wireless card underneath and put it back in hoping that it would do something to make it work...but sure enough its going all wacko. Sometimes it'll stay at 54/sec or it'll go down to 24, back up to 36 and then to 1mbps all within a matter of like 3 seconds...
I got a acer aspire v5-571 and the wireless is not turning on.. it has windows 8 installed on it, when i try t turn on the wireless its grayed out.. it does not seem to have a physical switch to turn on and off the wireless.. when i use the fn+f3 keys it only turns of an on the airplane mode thing... i went to the site an installed the update of the bios, chipset and wireless with no joy.. what am i missing
I have an Acer Aspire 5950G laptop and 2 weeks ago I purchased a new Asus DSL-ac68U modem router. After spending an hour on the phone with Asus getting the wretched thing set up, we are finally up and running. Last week I was asked to reboot the modem and ever since then the laptop has not been able to see any wireless devices, or if it does, they aren't the right things.  For example it may display a NAS drive but it's actually showing a playlist on the main pc, it sees a pvr but the files can't be accessed.  If I try and input the IP of the NAS it claims the user can't be authenticated, however sharing is turned on on the NAS.  I can connect to the internet wirelessly and browse to pages on the laptop with no problem but it just refuses to see the recognise the correct thing as the NAS drive and permit access to the files on the PVR.  The laptop is running Windows 7.
I got my Acer Aspire 5050 by September 2007 and filled it with many applications already until I found that its performance was depressing. Then I decided to format my computer and re-install the Windows.
After re-install everything, I just found out that I got a separated CD for the wireless adapter (Atheros AR5007EG + Realtek Ethernet) from the reseller. But I already installed the driver from the original Acer CD.
But it appears that the wireless doesn't work properly as the figures for Received/ Sent packet data are very extreme (this morning I tried and they were 126/ 6) <=- is this a problem? It also got timed out when I tried to connect to my home server, which is located just a staircase away, from my room.
When I go online downstairs, putting my laptop 2 metres from the router, the connection is going just fine.
I tred to install the driver from the separated CD and even searched for the newest update of the device on the internet, but both didn't really help. I got good connection only after I installed the drivers. But after I turned off the laptop for several hours, it couldn't connect to the internet just as before.
The battery of my Acer Aspire v5 died while it was copying files over wireless. The batter was very low, but i thought that i could squeeze in the file copy any ways. Well, I was wrong. The battery died, and now it refuses to charge. When i try to turn it on, the battery light flashes 5 times and it does NOT turn on.
I just got a Aspire 5520 from a friend. Before I restored it to factory i was able to connect to my secure wireless network. Now that i have restored it, I can connect but then the enet mangatment will connect but then disconnect. but the windows icon says its connected. but it will not get past my router or anything and if i try to acess my router from my aspire it will not load the page. my router is fine i have several other devieces connected to it that have no problem. I have checked my router settings to make sure the settings in the comp is right i have a wpa2-personal with a apk securtiy. the router itslef is a belkin n600. since this machine is not under warrenty i cann't ask acer support. Â Also i can connect to any unsecured with no problem
I got windows 8 when i got the computer from the store 1 year ago, and I install windows 7 now and i cant get the wireless internet to work for me. i have tried the HWWVendor detector and it says that i got broadcom and i downloaded those drivers and its not working.
I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5698 running Windows 7. Â I never want to connect to the internet wirelessly. Â I only want to connect rarely with a wired connection. Â I can disconnect the wireless by pressing Fn+F3 but I never see a "Launch Manager". Â The problem is when I turn off the computer and turn it back on, it defaults to connect wirelessly. Â I went to Manage Wireless Networks in Control Panel and selected Manually Connect to my home Network. Â That did not work. Â How can I stop it from connecting automatically wirelessly? Â
Since getting my new v13 notebook. Problems with unable to search for wireless router . Wifi icons not out at time. Have to restart few times to be able to have the search for wireless device. When able to connect, notebook will hang upon surfing net. Notebook always hang and have to press off button to restart.
For a while now the wireless connection on my laptop has been very unstable. I had used it for about six months without experiencing problems, but a month or two ago I started getting very frustated with it.  The wireless can be turned on just fine and has no trouble finding available networks. No problem here. But when I try to connect to one it rarely works, and the few times were it does connect, the internet is incredibly slow. I would say it works flawlessly and fast about 10% of the time. The rest of the time it's like I just explained; it either won't connect or is too slow.  I don't know what suddenly caused this, since it worked perfectly when I bought it. Updating the wireless card drivers didn't work.
Acer Aspire E 15, Windows 8.1 Â Background (in as much detail as possible): Â Earlier this week I wanted to use Pokerstars, but I was due an update (I already had it installed). I updated and loaded it up, although it seemed to lag at the log in screen, so I CTR+ALT+DEL and ended it in task manager. I reopened the program and had the same issue, so I task manager'd it again and it still didn't work. So I rebooted. When I rebooted, all of a sudden I had no option of connecting to a wireless network - only ethernet and VPN in the settings. Â I have been into device manager and can see that I have a Qualcomm Atheros Driver in my network devices, although it has an amber warning with code 52 (driver unsigned).
I tried going onto Acer website and downloading the latest driver, which comes with a set up package - unfortunately this didn't work. I tried uninstalling the driver and pointing to the driver that I had downloaded manually; but every time it tells me 'You have the best driver set up for this device' and reverts back to the unsigned driver.  I have tried FN + F3 to disable and enable flight mode - no impact.  I read somewhere about updating bios settings - but there are none in the download section when I put my serial number into the Acer website.  I also tried downloading drivers from other external website and downloaded some third party program called 'Driver Assist' as the way the page was set up fooled me into thinking that was the legit download - it didn't work, and I have subsequently uninstalled it  I have only had the laptop just over a month new, and all had been working until then. Extremely unlikely to be any other spyware as the only things I have installed on here are Steam (FM15) and Pokerstars. I don't even really use this for browsing, just those two apps.
Further info - not sure if relevant but I installed the Acer WLAN + Bluetooth setup as a potential fix, and the bluetooth element seems to be functioning fine - not sure if they're on the same integrated card?
I have an Aspire 1640 laptop with an internal Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG network adaptor. Since upgrading my Windows XP to Windows 7, as a clean install the wireless will not work.
I have an Acer Aspire 5920G, with the Intel 3945AGB wireless card. I've had issues with the wireless for some time, where it would suddenly lose connectivity and I would have to reboot for it to find any wireless networks. Yesterday, however, it lost connectivity again, and now is unable to connect even after several reboots.
The wifi switch is on and lights up. Acer eNet manager tells me there are no wireless networks, whereas Windows Vista's network manager tells me that I'm either a) Connected to my wireless network but with a limited connection or b) Not connected at all, but wireless networks (including my own) are available. It always fails to connect. My wireless router is a Dlink DIR-615.
I've tried inputting the WEP key again, no results. I've tried rolling back the wireless device driver (to 11.1.0.86), no results.
My husband has an identical laptop, with an identical setup, and everything works just fine for his laptop.
I did nothing out of the ordinary last night when this happened - no settings were changed, etc. The only thing I did do that I don't do every day, was that I ran the disk cleanup manager, and it cleaned out a few temp files, but I thought that this was a harmless operation...
I have an acer aspire e1-571 g and since last week ,my internet connection (broadband or wireless ,no matter wich i use) drops randomly ..and i can't reconnect untill i restart my laptop..i've tried to change MAC,drop ip,reinstal windows, reinstal drivers of ethernet and wireless,no result.. I'm starting to think that my motherboard is faulty..??
