Acer Aspire E1-571 :: Windows 8 - Installing Wireless Internet
Dec 4, 2014
I got windows 8 when i got the computer from the store 1 year ago, and I install windows 7 now and i cant get the wireless internet to work for me. i have tried the HWWVendor detector and it says that i got broadcom and i downloaded those drivers and its not working.
1. bought a used Acer Aspire 7741G-6426 from my brother-in-law. 2. he had removed the hard drive, for security reasons 3. I bought and installed a Solid State Drive 4. I downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium from the Microsoft site 5. installed, successfully, Windows 6. Now, no Internet access. Device Manager shows an Ethernet Controller, but says the device driver for it is not installed. No wireless controller is found. 7. I downloaded the Broadbank LAN device driver from the Acer site (on another computer, of course; carried it over to the laptop on a USB drive). When I try to update the driver, Device Manager says it finds the driver but it is missing a file.
Is there another place to get drivers? Is there a self-installing driver available?
i have an aspire one. AO725 is the model. my wireless internet driver went wacky when i updated to widows 8.1 and i re-installed the driver. a day later it is not connecting to the internet again.
I have an Aspire 1640 laptop with an internal Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG network adaptor. Since upgrading my Windows XP to Windows 7, as a clean install the wireless will not work.
I got an Aspire 1360...has worked great since the last month. The wireless has been having a mind of its own. All of my other wireless computers are working and theres no router conflict. I can stand right beside the router and there will be no connection. I took out the wireless card underneath and put it back in hoping that it would do something to make it work...but sure enough its going all wacko. Sometimes it'll stay at 54/sec or it'll go down to 24, back up to 36 and then to 1mbps all within a matter of like 3 seconds...
My internet frequently disconnects from my Aspire S3-951 notebook with Athros AR5BWB225 wireless adapter. The adapter is loaded with driver version 10.0.0.227. Is there a newer driver that will prevent the frequent disconnects?
I decided to downgrade my Acer Aspire E1-470 to windows 7 64 bit! I did make a clean install no error occur during installtion! but after that some drivers was not installed! I cant connect to net and wifi

I've installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop HP Pavilion G6 2241sa. Everything is perfect, I downloaded all drivers, internet works fine BUT I've noticed that the speed of my broadband after few minutes goes down by 80%. My broadband speed is 30meg down/30 megs up. Download speed reduces to 2-3megs but upload speed remains the same...
My network card (shown in device manager) is Qualcom Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter. When I uninstall it, Windows automatically detects it and installs it back. Internet speed returns to normal but after few minutes or maybe 10-12 minutes speed again goes down, up speed is unchanged... I deleted it 10 times, all the same, tried to reinstall all ralink drivers found for Win 8 or Win8.1, but Windows says that I have the perfect driver and doesn't install anything else. I removed antivirus just in case, doesn't work. I checked the speed on other computer - no issues there, but on my laptop it persists. On Windows 7 i didn't have this problem, it started after putting Win 8.1.
The hard drive on my Aspire 5745 was replaced (same size 640 GB) when I install Windows, it hangs on the Windows logo as its swirling and about to start. I have checked in the BIOS to disable UEFI boot but unable to see this option.
Every time I put the bootable disk in to install windows xp it will get to the point of saying starting windows then I get the blue screen of death. How can I install windows xp? Right now it has vista home basic
I have aspire 6920 and I love the features this computer has but I am not very happy with vista. Can I install xp pro? I know that deleting the pq service partition is not wise but I would rather have xp pro. How do I delete pq service? Also, is this action reversible? If I can install xp can I ever go back to the manufacturer OS? I have created the restore cd's but will they work without the pq service partition.
I just bought a Acer Aspire 5740DG and I want to reformat it and put a clean version of Windows 7 on it without all the useless that comes on these laptops.
Is it possible for me to do this using another Windows 7 install disk I have, but just entering the existing CDKey for Windows 7 that came on this system or is that impossible?
I have a Notebook hp430 with Windows 7 64 bit ultimate. After having some sort of driver/virus that was freezing my computer, again i reinstalled my laptop with windows 7 64 bit ultimate .
Now it can't connect to the internet through wireless. I've tried all the basics: pressing the WIFI enable/disable toggle key on my keyboard, restarting my computer, enabling disabling the internet connection in the network area, etc.
Under Device Manager I see 4 devices related to the wireless internet:
1. Other devices >1> Network Controller 2>pci device 3> pci simple communications controller 4> Sm bus controller - all the above devices have yellow warning sign next to it - the error is for having no drivers installed.
What should I do? How can I get my wireless internet to work again?
Trying too install windows 7 ultimate using Acer recovery disk's,it's hanging up everytime at ( installing cleanup 43-44). It's a 8951G-9630 Acer aspire.
I just recently picked up an Aspire V 17 Nitro and imediately installed Windows 7 on it. Everything is working pretty well so far but I noticed the function keys are not working. The ones where you hold down the "Fn" key and then do thing like adjust the volume.
I'm An Acer Aspire 6930G user and it has vista home premium installed as OS. Today When I was trying to install Windows Xp on it A blue Error Screen Appear in the beginning of windows installing...I tried with 3 different Xp cd's but still the same problem.
Here's the full form of what that blue screen says:
The problem has detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage on your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow this steps:
Check for viruses in your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers.Check your hard drives to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
I have Acer Aspire 5742G notebook and I'm having problems installing the Windows 7 OS on my new SSD hard drive (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is failing and making blue screens all the time...)For the factory restore, I'm using restore discs. I burned the discs few years back when the laptop insisted me of doing it (by using eRecovery or something, 3 dvds total).
The computer tries to install the OS with the dvds (asks to insert a dvd and then press a key). The actual problem is that the installer is just going in loops, restarting and eventually freezing in the end.. Reboot -> Acer logo -> Windows is loading files... -> Starting windows -> Reboot -> etc. That kept going for more than a hour (on the first dvd!) and suddenly it just froze on the "starting windows" screen.. So I had to reboot and star over again.I can still use my old formatted HDD, should I make new set of recovery discs or use an USB drive?
I just bought my Acer Aspire V5-552g a week ago. Everything seems to be working fine. However, Windows advised me to install updates which I did. After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. What I need to do. Is this a result of updating Windows? How can I undo the update?
I have a HP Pavilion g7-1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I bought a new hard drive so I had to install Windows again. After the installation the laptop can't connect to the internet either by wifi either by Ethernet. After trying troubleshooting it says that windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.
At the device Manager I can see that there is an exclamation mark to these exact components:
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter BCM20702AO Ethernet Controller Network Controller PCI Device PCI Simple Communications Controller SM Bus Controller
Can I download all these from somewhere ? And of course I will download them to another PC as my laptop doesn't go online at all. I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet just fine.
i dont get is that this is what it says for networking Internet/Networking
Ethernet: Yes
Wireless: No
Dial-up Modem: Yes
It says no for wireless. So does it mean that this laptop cannot hook up to a wireless network and must be plugged directly into with an ethernet cable from my router?
Although, I just can't find a internet driver for my laptop model. I know there is one. I've seen HP experts provide drivers to other people on the forum while they downgraded as well just like me.
In device manager, shows this when I right click and go to details and hardware Ids
Driver for windows 8.1 ( Just need one for windows 7)
i got an Extensa 4420, and after hearing everyone say vista is out, I installed XP.
Im new to PC's [been a mac user for years] and this is confusing me. The laptop has 2 partitions - C: and D: Vista is on C: so i installed xp on D:
It appears that i can now only access XP and cannot ever boot into vista off C: is that true?
Also, when running XP i have no internet via the ethernet cable nor the wireless card that comes with this laptop. Can someone explain what drivers i need to install to make those work?
I got the Extensa_4200 driver folder off the website, but i am clueless as to which need to be installed - as im new to PC. Any advice is much appreciated.
I have successfully figured out the audio and video drivers but now i need the internet and wireless to work.
I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all.
Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.
I'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor).
FYI I have run diagnostics several times & the one thing that stood out was this:
Diagnostics Information (Wireless Connectivity)Association status: Fail 0x00038002Association reason code: 0x00000002 Result of diagnosis: Problem foundIssue referred to: RNWF MSM Helper ClassRoot cause: Windows could not connect to "ERICSSON"You can try to connect again. I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5698 running Windows 7. I never want to connect to the internet wirelessly. I only want to connect rarely with a wired connection. I can disconnect the wireless by pressing Fn+F3 but I never see a "Launch Manager". The problem is when I turn off the computer and turn it back on, it defaults to connect wirelessly. I went to Manage Wireless Networks in Control Panel and selected Manually Connect to my home Network. That did not work. How can I stop it from connecting automatically wirelessly?
I have just purchased an Acer Aspire E5-511, it repeatedly loses internet connection (wifi) despite still showing as being connected. I have read that numerous other people have experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. I have tried updating the driver and changing the battery power settings etc. I have spent ages transferring all my files accross so am reluctant to have to send it back now.
