I have an acer aspire e1-571 g and since last week ,my internet connection (broadband or wireless ,no matter wich i use) drops randomly ..and i can't reconnect untill i restart my laptop..i've tried to change MAC,drop ip,reinstal windows,reinstal drivers of ethernet and wireless,no result.. I'm starting to think that my motherboard is faulty..??

I bought my Acer Aspire E1-57G 2 months ago. U put win7 64bit on him and installed som drivers. All worked fine for some time. 1 week ago my internet slowed down randomly, and only on this notebook.
I googeld a little bit and i decided to go for win 8.1 and original drivers. I installed everything but the problem with WLAN adapter was still there. If i started loading a web page sometimes it loads completely with no problems and everything is fine for some time (5 min) then pages start to loading slow or not at all. And like that all the time.
When I download something it ether downloads "fast" like 500 - 800 kbps or not at all 0kbps. On other notebooks wireless connection is ok, and at the same time when thisone is slow others do well. Win update is not slowing connection (OFF), firewall is ok, power management set to be max for wlan adapter. I tried every solution that i found on the internet.
So what is the problem (is it WLAN adapter) and how to fix it?
My laptop has just started doing the same thing, at least every 5 minutes it drops the net connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor).
FYI I have run diagnostics several times & the one thing that stood out was this:

I own a Z series Z540. After multiple Vista reinstalls and driver reinstalls, the wireless connection always drops. It would maintain connection for about 5 minutes, then it drops again. The wireless light stays on though.
I tried going on XP and ssee how that works out. Same problem, except that it drops when I MOVE it. And when it drops, the wireless light turns off, and when I move it back into a certain position again, the wireless light goes back on, and the wireless is back.
However, when I am on vista, the connection just drops for no reason, even without touching it, every 5 minutes. The light does stay on, though.
I just got my new x100e laptop today, and i really like it. But, it has a problem.
I am connected to my wireless network at home, and it works properly on my other computers at house. But on the x100e, the connection drops from time to time. Suddenly, the internet is gone, but ten seconds later, the network is back up again.
It's not that big a problem, but it is frustrating to lose the internet from time to time. It happens from every 5 minutes to once 30 minutes.
For a while now the wireless connection on my laptop has been very unstable. I had used it for about six months without experiencing problems, but a month or two ago I started getting very frustated with it.
The wireless can be turned on just fine and has no trouble finding available networks. No problem here. But when I try to connect to one it rarely works, and the few times were it does connect, the internet is incredibly slow. I would say it works flawlessly and fast about 10% of the time. The rest of the time it's like I just explained; it either won't connect or is too slow.
I don't know what suddenly caused this, since it worked perfectly when I bought it. Updating the wireless card drivers didn't work.

Maybe it's late and i'm missing it somewhere but would anybody be able to point me in the right direction.
I just purchased the Ideapad S415 Touch. The wifi connection drops OFTEN. It still shows that it is connected, but there is no internet pages load, email stops working, etc. If I hit "disconnect" on the connection, then hit "connect" again, it works great . . . . for a few more minutes or an hour or whatever. I went into "properties" and changed the settings on roaming and power management per an article I found on this site. I think this may have worked a bit, but it's still happening.

I have Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 installed. I went out to Intel's website and have the most current driver.
Recently i buyed a laptop (Acer Aspire 571 pg) this laptop is very good for browsing and watching videos, etc... I'm happy that it can handle those things perfectly But i have a big issue when i try to play some games.For example GTA IV. I start the game normally and after a couple of minutes the game stutters/ drops fps constantly. I mean... It runs well in the first 4-5 minutes, then it starts to run slow for a couple of seconds and then goes back to run normally for another couple of seconds, and then again the game runs slow, and this keeps going and going as long as i play.

So I really don't know what to do, this fps drops are really annoying. I've tried:
-Installing new video drivers [They're up to date]
-Installing new audio drivers [They're up to date too]
-Changing battery settings, doesn't make much difference in balanced mode or high performance
-Low the settings and resolution of the game [This keeps happening even on the lowest settings, it stutters/ it still gives me a fps drop]
-Defrag my hdd [Nothing changes]
-Updated my bios [The problem still persist]
-Turning off vertical sync and other various settings on the Nvidia control panel.
The thing is that i used Nvidia inspector just to check the gpu temperature and i notice that when the temperature reaches 60 to 70 celcius degrees the game starts to run slowly and stutter. I've this cooler connected to my lap: [URL] ... I've the same pad just in color black.But even with that thing connected the temperature still goes up. Maybe i need a better cooling pad? What should i do to get the fps stable?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm really trying to like my new Acer 1410. Everything was working great until I tried to connect thru the wifi. Turned out the connection was really weak. This is in my house where all my other laptops have had no problem connecting.
So I try for a couple of hours trying every setting possible on my router and on my laptop settings. Finally, I open up the bottom of my laptop and find out the black wire that goes to the Intel Wireless card isn't even connected! In fact the metal connector itself is missing entirely
So me not knowing much about electronics, I cut off a 2 inch wire (with connector) from my old laptop's wireless card and taped it to the new laptop's open black wire. Plug it in and now the signal is better, but it still sucks. Any advice anyone? I really would rather fix it myself if I can. Would it work better if I solder the two wires together? Or is the Intel 5100 a POS and nothing is going to help it?
I contacted HP support yesterday because my HP Spectre 13 Pro notebook has a lot of difficulty getting wireless internet access. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works then drops out; and it is never able to connect using my iPhone as a hotspot for more than 10 seconds.
HP support person instructed me to install 2 updates. Now my laptop is completely not working!! It says "Boot Device Not Found". I have to wait for a technician to completely replace the hard drive, then wait a week for a USB plugin to load up a new system.
Basically just moved house and got Eircom broadband installed, my girlfriends laptop connected automatically, whereas my Compaq CQ60 Presario Notebook WindowsVista will not connect.I have checked so many different forums trying to fix this problem, but to no avail im afraid... it looks like there is an excellent internet connection.... but cannot go on the internet because it says "Unidentified Network local access only"
The router I have is "atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi adapter", and the o/s I have on my laptop is Windows Vista 32 bit.
In our previous residence we had UPC broadband, and I had no problems at all connecting.
I think something similar has been posted here before. In essence, I find that when I use my VX Revolution (or is it MX? Whichever one is the mobile version), the mouse occasionally loses its wireless connection to the computer, and so I have to click multiple times to get it to register.
This is annoying enough for me to consider getting a wired mouse, but I want to know if I get something like an MX518 if I'm still going to run into the disconnect/lag issue.
In other words, is it a wireless issue or a Logitech/PC/Mac conflict issue? I experienced both with and without the Logitech software installed. The software is currently installed.
I got a new Acer a few months ago and it worked fine in the beginning. In the last few weeks, it has been randomly shutting down. It does not show the normal shut down message you would see when using power button or Start Menu but just shuts off. When it comes back on, it says Windows did not shut down properly.
I seemed to have narrowed this down to when I move the screen or move the laptop.
I am one of those where the tightening of the screws didn't work. The screw in question "over-turned" when I wnated to fix it so I do not get my battery running. Then I tried to open the back as you describe. I removed all the screws.... but.... still couldnt open it. The back-panel is somehow else fixed... I can ot remove it. Is there any trick or whatsoever or am I missing something else here?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Aspire V3-371-596F. Since the first boot, I have been having problems with the touchpad freezing randomly. The two finger sroll is reversed and I cannot access any settings to change the direction, either. I downloaded the suggested Synaptics driver from the Acer website, but Windows will not let me install the driver for the touchpad.
When I go into Device Manager -> Mice and other pointing devices, there is only one device listed: HID-compliant mouse. It says the manufacturer is Microsoft, and not Synaptics. When I try to Update Driver, I select the downloaded Synaptic driver it says the best driver for my device is already installed.
How do I tell the computer that it does not have a Microsoft mouse installed so I can use the correct Synaptics driver?
I should also mention that a Synaptics HID Device does show up under Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices. However, windows does not seem to recognize that this device is the mouse.
Has anyone had issues with their DV5 with a Nvidia 9600mGT ? and FPS issues? I am playing DoDS, and for the last while (since I had my DV5 repaired by HP) My FPS in games always drops then comes back up and then drops again. I have installed many drivers with a clean driver install. (Used driver sweeper) I have even went as far as completing a whole system recovery again, to still run into these issues. It has become so bad, It ruins all gaming for me. Also, I think i have notice big CPU spikes, which might be causing issues... the specs are in my sig,.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have problem a with my Switch 10. The internet connection drops frequently. It is followed by the signal strength icon showing 'Limited'. I then turn off WI-FI and turn back on and it does not recognize any networks at all. I then go into network settings, run the troubleshooter and it does its stuff, re-setting the network adapter, and then informs me that it could not find an issue. After resetting the adapter it works fine again.I have tried uninstalling and installing latest drivers but the problem persists. The problem lies within the adapter itself or the driver.
My adapter shows as being REALTEK and i read on here of similar problems with the Broadcom adapter, which makes me think that the driver is causing the problem. Someone suggested that the Bluetooth was causing a conflict, so I removed bluetooth and it made no difference. (I have re-installed bluetooth. All drivers are latest ones.My switch is not a month old yet and this happens a couple of times a day. and am close to returning the product. I like it, but cannot put up with such an important issue as the internet randomly dropping.
That is, the wifi connection randomly disconnects and reconnects, which is especially annoying when she is on MSN or whenever she is logged on to a HTTPS site (she has to log in again on the next refresh).
maybe Acer has a new driver for the 5100?
the OS installed is the factory Vista (with the usual bloatware - I deleted most of them). Can deleting certain Acer bloatware cause wifi issues?
My Acer 7740G has been acting strange lately, it makes a beeping noise of approximately 45 beeps (not exactly sure, because as they are quite quick) when it is restarted. When it is turned off and on everything is fine, the beeping is only when it is being restarted.
Also it freezes randomly no matter what games/programs/apps are running. For example it freezes while playing heavy game, and also while playing Minesweeper with nothing else running in the background. I had to reinstall Windows several times, but the freezing keeps occuring without bsod. Also when restart is needed during installation it beeps like that every time on startup.
I recently started having some trouble with my laptop, the screen wouldn't come on during powerup, fans and hard drive sounded to be running. This has happened 3 times since it started a few days ago. I was able to get the screen on by plugging in my parents old monitor into the serial port, it just popped up in the same instant I plugged it in. I have also had my usb ports stop functioning.
On a forum somewhere that I cant find again, people with similar problems were told to take the back off the laptop and hit some sort of reset button on the motherboard. Should I try this? How can I find it?
