I've just recently bought my acer aspire e1-570g notebook, and it makes a short single beep at random times. Sometimes it does't occure for hours, and sometimes it happens twice in a minute.I've already checked the Ram, CPU, GPU, Hard Drive with tester programs, even reseated the ram, but the beep didn't disappear.

I googeld a little bit and i decided to go for win 8.1 and original drivers. I installed everything but the problem with WLAN adapter was still there. If i started loading a web page sometimes it loads completely with no problems and everything is fine for some time (5 min) then pages start to loading slow or not at all. And like that all the time.
When I download something it ether downloads "fast" like 500 - 800 kbps or not at all 0kbps. On other notebooks wireless connection is ok, and at the same time when thisone is slow others do well. Win update is not slowing connection (OFF), firewall is ok, power management set  to be max for wlan adapter. I tried every solution that i found on the internet.

So what is the problem (is it WLAN adapter) and how to fix it?
I bought my Acer Aspire E1-570G in february , and since then im having random blue screens with different codes . Im trying everything to fix this problem almost everyday, and believe me soon i will break it on 2 pieces . Nothing is fixing the problem ... I have bsod files that i can post for u to see them but i dont think they really matter because i get RANDOM bsods. Every time is different ( there are around 10 different codes given that i remember ). If its really needed i can post the codes.
I have sent the laptop to the main service in my country and they said that the laptop " passed the tests" . After coming home and turning my pc on .. BSOD . The laptop went to the service again - This time they changed my HDD . It didnt fix the problem . I cant change my laptop with the warranty because the service says that the laptop is okay .
My brand new m1330 (I've had it less than a week) has been making a high pitched beeping noise completely randomly. I havn't noticed any pattern in when it makes the noise either, whether it be plugged in, on battery, plugged in without a battery, battery settings on power saver, battery settings on performance, none of it makes a difference.
The kind of beep seems random as well, sometimes it is a single beep, other times it is a few beeps strung together like a chirping noise.
Nothing happens on screen when the beeps occur either. I've done some googling, and cant find an answer to why its beeping.
I guess my primary concern would be if this is a problem, and if i need to contact dell about it. Or, if anyone else has experienced this, and whether or not there is an easy fix for it. Its kind of annoying, and I've gotten a few funky looks in class.
My Latitude E6520 beeps randomly for no reason I can find.  It is not the power adapter itself that is beeping and I have had not problems with the system charging and staying charged. I have one charger at work powering a dock and a different adapter at home. The laptop beeps randomly both.

Now after some research I found out that the five beeps indicate problem with the CMOS battery, Am I right? And if so then why don't the beeps stick, why do they only happen at random? Why do they go away by restarting the system?I'm just wondering if this really is the battery or something else? And If I should replace it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new Acer a few months ago and it worked fine in the beginning. In the last few weeks, it has been randomly shutting down. It does not show the normal shut down message you would see when using power button or Start Menu but just shuts off. When it comes back on, it says Windows did not shut down properly.

I seemed to have narrowed this down to when I move the screen or move the laptop.
I am one of those where the tightening of the screws didn't work. The screw in question "over-turned" when I wnated to fix it so I do not get my battery running. Then I tried to open the back as you describe. I removed all the screws.... but.... still couldnt open it. The back-panel is somehow else fixed... I can ot remove it. Is there any trick or whatsoever or am I missing something else here?

Â The two finger sroll is reversed and I cannot access any settings to change the direction, either. Â I downloaded the suggested Synaptics driver from the Acer website, but Windows will not let me install the driver for the touchpad.Â

When I go into Device Manager -> Mice and other pointing devices, there is only one device listed: HID-compliant mouse. Â It says the manufacturer is Microsoft, and not Synaptics. Â When I try to Update Driver, I select the downloaded Synaptic driver it says the best driver for my device is already installed.

How do I tell the computer that it does not have a Microsoft mouse installed so I can use the correct Synaptics driver? Â

I should also mention that a Synaptics HID Device does show up under Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices. Â However, windows does not seem to recognize that this device is the mouse.
I have problem a with my Switch 10. The internet connection drops frequently. It is followed by the signal strength icon showing 'Limited'. I then turn off WI-FI and turn back on and it does not recognize any networks at all. I then go into network settings, run the troubleshooter and it does its stuff, re-setting the network adapter, and then informs me that it could not find an issue. After resetting the adapter it works fine again.I have tried uninstalling and installing latest drivers but the problem persists. The problem lies within the adapter itself or the driver.
My adapter shows as being REALTEK and i read on here of similar problems with the Broadcom adapter, which makes me think that the driver is causing the problem. Someone suggested that the Bluetooth was causing a conflict, so I removed bluetooth and it made no difference. (I have re-installed bluetooth. All drivers are latest ones.My switch is not a month old yet and this happens a couple of times a day. and am close to returning the product. I like it, but cannot put up with such an important issue as the internet randomly dropping.
That is, the wifi connection randomly disconnects and reconnects, which is especially annoying when she is on MSN or whenever she is logged on to a HTTPS site (she has to log in again on the next refresh).
maybe Acer has a new driver for the 5100?
the OS installed is the factory Vista (with the usual bloatware - I deleted most of them). Can deleting certain Acer bloatware cause wifi issues?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Acer 7740G has been acting strange lately, it makes a beeping noise of approximately 45 beeps (not exactly sure, because as they are quite quick) when it is restarted. When it is turned off and on everything is fine, the beeping is only when it is being restarted.

Also it freezes randomly no matter what games/programs/apps are running. For example it freezes while playing heavy game, and also while playing Minesweeper with nothing else running in the background. I had to reinstall Windows several times, but the freezing keeps occuring without bsod. Also when restart is needed during installation it beeps like that every time on startup.
 I recently started having some trouble with my laptop, the screen wouldn't come on during powerup, fans and hard drive sounded to be running.  This has happened 3 times since it started a few days ago.  I was able to get the screen on by plugging in my parents old monitor into the serial port, it just popped up in the same instant I plugged it in.  I have also had my usb ports stop functioning.

On a forum somewhere that I cant find again, people with similar problems were told to take the back off the laptop and hit some sort of reset button on the motherboard. Â Should I try this? Â How can I find it?

I have had my aspire e1 touch for a couple months now and a couple weeks in it randomly wouldn't detect the touch ability. Â I have to shut the laptop down and back on again for it to work (simple restart won't work) Â It's a new computer so I haven't upgraded any os, it's running with the Windows 8.1 it came with and I have chrome as the browser. Â It seems to happen when I wake it from sleep, not in the middle of using it. Â When the touch is not working, the device manager doesn't even detect that touch is an option (it's hidden, but grey and cannot be enabled)....

It's gotten so bad that I can't even use the computer at this time because the pointer won't stay in the same place long enough for me to type or select anything. I typically use the laptop in the screen forward configuration so I don't use the touch pad and nothing is touching it. I use the touchscreen about half the time and use an external USB mouse the rest of the time. It makes no difference which method I use or whether the external mouse is connected or not. as my fancy 4-month old laptop is essentially useless at this point.

Both are having issues with the trackpad where it will randomly freeze or the pointer will disappear. At first my mother thought it was just being slow and freezing all the time. I had a look and found that the touch screen worked fine when the mouse froze or disappeared. Now, immediately I assumed it to be a driver issue, so I updated the trackpad driver.Â

I can't find any info on this and even though I bought the week before christmas ACER are saying my warrenty has run out and I don't have the time to find a scanner to scan my receipt. I am a day or two away from returning this laptop if no solution can be found.

This freezing happens ALOT, to the point my mother is using the 4 year old dusty laptop with missing keys. I assume it's something to do with the touchscreen and the trackpad interfering with one another.

I have the InsydeH20 bios. Â Any beep codes I can get ? I tried removing the memory 1 at a time, and same thing still happens.
The number keys on the right are locked and I cant use them. When I press the numlock key it just beeps and a pad lock open and shut on the screen.
I bought this laptop especially for these number keys.
My laptop is an Aspire V3-571-6447 with windows 8.1 os.For the past month or so it starts beeping and then the screen goes dim and then it beeps and brightens up again. This might go on for 3 or 4 minutes and then it stops. Is this an indication of a problem? It doesn't seem normal to me and from what research I have done it seems that beeping is not a good thing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had to order a replacement screen to replace the original one which cracked after being stepped on by my boyfriend. The computer still worked then though if plugged in through an external monitor (like VGA or HDMI), but since I replaced the screen, even that won't work. I might have severely messed up by being impatient and forgetting to take the battery out before replacing screens. After I replaced them, realized my mistake, and took the battery out and put it back in again, it still wouldn't get past the problem: When I turn it on, charging or not, the power light and sleep mode light blink very slowly (blue), and the laptop beeps every ten seconds or so. The screen won't turn on at all either, even if plugged into an external source. I've tried it with and without the battery in and it hasn't turned on either. After further research of the problem, the most promising thing seemed to be reinstalling the BIOS (google "Acer Dead Screen Problem"), and I downloaded it off Acer's website and tried running it via flash drive as all the tutorials wanted me to. Nothing happened. The only difference from the tutorial is there's supposed to be an executable file with the BIOS download, but it wasn't in the folder.

You would have to "F2" to the BIOS then exit the BIOS, then start up screen to come up again, beeps again repeat "F2" back to BIOS, but eventually XP would load. Unfortunately everything was sluggish, keyboard wouldn’t work right. So in my limited computer knowledge I decided to reformat the notebook. I could not find any back up disk that came with the notebook so I created a back up disk from factory settings via the Acer eRecovery Management process. I have ran this recovery disk twice. Both times I have installed the recovery disk I get NTLDR missing as well as the beeps have not gone away. From some online research beeps mean computer is telling us something is wrong with the hardware. Number of beeps tells what specifically; unfortunately I can’t find what continuous beeping means. NTLDR missing I found usually means that the computer is looking in the wrong place for the file.
I have no idea what I should do next to resolve the problem. Should I go out and buy an OME copy of XP Pro. Will friends XP Pro disks work as long as I use the XP Key found on the bottom of my laptop? How can i figure what hardware is causing the notebook to beep?
Ideally what I would like to achieve is a clean install with the most limited amount of Acer bloat ware installed. I am trying to find a list of what programs are needed and what programs are bloatware.
i have a acer aspire 3000 i got from some relatives but when i turn it on it turns on i can here the fan kick on an the dvd drive go click click and stuff but then fan stops and it goes dead silent and the screen never shows anything from the beggining by any chance do those little switches that shut off the screen when u close it ... .do they ever brake ...? ive tried hooking it up to another monitor but it doesnt show a screen of anything but it must send some type of a signal cause its just a plain blank screen and once i unplug it it sais no signal no signal all over
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm a ENVY 17-j092nr Notebook PC (windows 8.1) pc user with all drivers and OS updates working fine, nevertheless sometimes im getting an annoying error that makes windows vibrate like crazy, the problem is a little odd to explain, it makes the BAR on explorer.exe folder flick and other "content frames" from several software, on Firefox for instance the upper bar which is orange start flicking useless, or in vlc it flicks the same, and then the worst on the windows log screen, that makes my picture flicks fast from the left to the middle several times per second, making impossible to write any password and its especially annoying when simple pass stop working.

-Changing mouse and installing video, display, mouse and other drivers besides updating them.
-Using Windows build and external software fix and repair utilities.
-Updating OS (Why? dk but i was trying alternatives).
-Disconnection electricity when this happens didn't work.
-Cleaning fan and avoiding any external particle on mouse laser.

Recently I noticed that my touch screen sometimes starts to hits randomly at the bottom of the screen. This problem cause some windows became minimize and maximize on its own and when i'm watching video, the video keep pause, play and pause again. I tried to find any crack on the screen but found nothing.Â

If you have never heard about Windows tax, Windows refund or anyone ever getting refund for Windows OS then perhaps it is time to look it up.
I don't think many people are aware of the fact that it is possible (and you have the all the rights to) to get a refund for Windows OS if you aren't planning to use it.
Getting Windows OS refund is like returning unused/unneeded product to get your money back. For example, if you are using Linux on your computer, why should you pay for Windows OS? Or, if your study institution provides FREE premium Windows OS, why should you pay for the crippled one that comes with your computer? Why should you even be forced to use Windows?
I decided not to pay for Windows OS. It is in the principle.
Please note: The key in getting Windows OS refund is in DECLINING the EULA agreement the first time computer boots up (or not turning computer on at all). If you accepted the EULA you are out of luck!
Here is how I got Windows OS refund from Acer Canada:
I purchased my Acer Aspire 1410 from Canadian Staples Business Depot. For 5 days I played around with it by booting Ubuntu Linux from SDHC card to make sure it was working correctly, there were no defects, etc, and after making the final decision of keeping the notebook, I picked up the phone and called Acer Technical Support (1-866-706-2237).
After getting a hold for an agent I explained that I would like to get a refund for Windows Vista Home Premium that came pre-installed on my laptop and quoted EULA agreement:
