Acer :: Can't Install Realtek High-Definition Audio Drivers
Dec 27, 2007I have an ACER Aspire 9413 (9410 Series) laptop..
After a little problems i decided to format everything and reinstall Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Oke Everything went fine untill now:
When i install my driver the Realtek High-Definition Audio from official website of Acer. The install does everything fine, after reboot: No Sound...
In the hardware stuff i can't find anything of the installed driver (realtek). I know its This driver i need, because i had it working a while ago before i formatted my laptop...
Dell Latitude E6500 :: Audio Device On High Definition Audio Bus When Installing XP
Oct 14, 2008I ordered new E6500 that came with Vista on it and I wiped that and have installed XP Pro SP2 on the machine. I have followed the guide on this page and installed everything in the correct order. The only thing that didn't install was the dial-up modem. It errored out and said "No MODEM device was found". Typically on the Latitude laptops I seem to remember installing the modem driver and it taking care of this entry in the device manager, but not this time.
There is a dial-up modem on the laptop and this is the only device that looks to not be installed. There is no webcam, WAN modem, or anything else like that.
Has problem with installing XP onto a E6500? Is the installer for the modem driver just bad or is there possibly something else going on.

Jun 28, 2014I have HP envy 15 j002er laptop. Originally I got it with Windows 8 but then I changed operation system to Windows 7 Pofessional (64-bit).I can`t install IDT high definition audio codec on it. I guess that is the reason why I don`t have and I can`t use Beats Audio interface on my laptop (only speakers are working). There are no audio drivers for Windows 7 available for download on HP website. When I`m cheking for driver updates via HP support, it proposes me only updates for Chipset, Graphics, Network, etc.And no Audio Driver..How can I solve it and install IDT high definition audio codec?

Jan 28, 2010I have a sony vaio Sz691N laptop and got windows 7 64 bits installed. The high definition audio controller is always disabled after restarting. I have to go to device manager to enable it every time. it is annoying me. Has anyone had the same problem before and has a solution?

Mar 12, 2009having some issues with the IDT Audio driver.
For me, the issue is that sometimes on startup I get an error message that says the driver experienced an error and it closes and so I can't hear any audio out of my speakers until I restart. This happens randomly on some startups and today it happened when I opened iTunes for some reason.
I currently use driver version 6.10.6087.0 A which is what HP claims on their site is the latest version for my dv7t-1000.
I've read that some people use 6.10.6087.22.
And I just saw today that there is a 6.10.6087.60 C for the dv7t-2000.
My question is, can I use this new driver? How should I go about installing it?
Sony :: Raltek High Definition Audio No Digital Output

Sony Vaio VGN-FW370J with Win Vista Home Premium 64 with Aptio Utility.
I do have realtek hd audio card and this card should have digital output. My gf has a toshiba satellite with the same card and she has it but I don't. I called sony and they replied (twice with different technicians) that this feature is not available on this model. Both audio cards have the same chip so I suspect that this feature is disabled hw.
It is not a driver problem. The driver does not install the Realtek Audio Manager so within the OS there is no way to enable it.

Dell :: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Conflicting With Skype And Steam?

Basically... I upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit, upgraded from Vista) on Tuesday. Started actually using my computer on Wednesday, and immediately noticed a lot of issues.
Biggest one was that Skype would freeze after using it for about 30 sec - 1 min. I would shut it down, restart the program, and it wouldn't start up (usually; if it would start up, it would freeze almost immediately after).
I eventually just ignored the issue, and continued using my computer. One time after this problem with Skype occurred, I tried to open Steam to try to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and steam wouldn't open .....

Connecting my laptop to the TV with a HDMI cable worked fine then suddenly the next time I did this I had no sound and when I right click the sound Icon I noticed it read ATI High Definition Audio device not plugged in. It worked once and now it won't, I miss it. The driver is up to date.

I am writing this new post after getting really frustrated from Googling all through the internet and not finding 1 decent solution.
I have a Dell Studio 1555 laptop and after bearing the pathetic sound quality both from the speakers and external speakers/headphones for months I finally decided to do something about it.
Apparently its not a hardware fault as everything seems to work technically fine but the sound output is really pathetic/high on treble and noise. Theres a word all around the internet that IDT High Definition Audio Codec sound drivers are bad idea and the default ones provided by Windows are much better.
Well i tried to remove, IDT Audio from my laptop permanently but to no avail. There is no option to remove at Add/Remove programs, so i went to Device manager and uninstalled the sound drivers. Upon restarting the PC the IDT audio popped backed in. So, I uninstalled once again and deleted the IDT folder but upon restarting it was back on again. Only that it took 5-6 minutes to install.
Can anyone suggest a way to remove IDT drivers permantly in Windows 7?

I've recently bought a dell studio 15. It's got a tsstcorp dvd +-rw ts-t633a ata, Radeon hd3400 and high definition sound devices..... yet I tried to play a hd dvd and the dvd player just kept ejecting the dvd and couldn't play it.
is it possible to play hd dvd's on my laptop?
Sony :: 's Definition Of 100% Saturation
Jan 18, 2009I'm having a tough time nailing down what sony means by 100% color saturation, in particular for the duraview monitor on the Z series.
Unfortunately way, way too many folks here have simply quoted the sony specs (without explanation) for search to be useful.
After reading through posts for a half hour the only explanation I've found is one poster stating that "100% saturation" means it covers 100% of the NTSC gamut. I can't find any specific information on either the US or Canadian site that corroborates this idea and it seems an odd standard to compare against when sRGB or aRGB would be a more familiar in the computer world. The only Sony model that comes close to an elaboration is the AW model "with Adobe RGB color management" which also seems an odd way to say that it covers adobe rgb gamut.
Does anyone have some specific information that they can kindly provide a link to? Or any review that has detailed information on the screen?

Sep 3, 2009I recently bought a 5810 and Im having a far lower battery time then I expected. Even when running everything at maximum power saving in W7 I get no more then 3-3.5 hours or so. This is a huge bummer for me as it was the main reason I bought the laptop.

Acer :: Aspire 5050 High CPU Load
Jul 8, 2008I'm having some problems with my Acer Aspire 5050 AMD Turion 64 2.0 GHz running Windows Vista Home Basic
After using it for a little over a year it suddenly has a CPU load around 75 - 90%, and the mouse is not reacting very well. Besides that, it's almost impossible to use to keyboard. Thinking it might be some sort of virus, I checked for that. I found nothing.
I tried to do a erecovery of the machine, but it didn't help! Now i tried formatting the partition and installed XP instead. But still: it didn't help. the problems is still there.
I found that if i start in fail safe mode, the notebook's working. both mouse , keyboard and cpu load.
I am really baffled about about what's the cause of all my problems. I'm thinking it might be the BIOS that's f***** up, but i'm not shure about it.
Acer Aspire E1-571 :: Fan Not Speeding Up In W7 X64 Despite Very High Temps
Feb 27, 2015My CPU is hitting around 90°. Inside of the laptop is clean, isn't a dust issue. Could probably do with reapplying thermal paste.
Most likely culprit, however, is the fan is not hitting full speed under Windows 7 x64 regardless of the CPU temps.
It works fine in the BIOS before the W7 splashscreen starts, so it isn't a problem with the fan itself, but as soon as W7 begins booting the speed drops substantially (I can only just tell it's spinning) then stays there. Given Acer's unusual way of handling their fans Speedfan and similar are no use as the fans don't show up.I've updated to the latest BIOS and even tried installing the ePower application, but the problem is still there.
Acer :: Aspire 5101AWLMI- Unusually High (100%) CPU Usage
Feb 20, 2009I've had my acer aspire 5101AWLMI for almost two years, and it's always worked fine, at times it was a bit slow, so I upgraded the given ram (1gb) to 4gb (the accepted maximum). However, recently A new problem has developed.
Sometimes when I run a program (it can be anything from a full-screen high-spec video game to a tiny browser-based flash video) My computer becomes really slow, until I minimise it. I checked on task manager, and my CPU usage jumps up to 100% when the program or applictaion is open, and falls back to around the usual when I minimise it.
It's not a virus, there are no extra processes running, just the process that /are/ currently running (espescially the one that slows everything down) take up way more of the cpu uses than normal. My processor is an AMD Turion 64 Mobile technology MK-36 (2.0 ghz, 512 kb L2 cache).
Acer :: Aspire 6530g Abnormally Show High CPU Usage
Jan 25, 2010High CPU Usage despite nothing showing on Task Manager or Process Explorer.
I was asked to have a look at a relatively new Acer Aspire 6530g laptop recently that was beginning to become almost unusably slow all of a sudden. The system (which comes with 4gb of ram) literally can no longer run a couple of simple applications at the same time. Displaying typical behaviour of high CPU usage, ie taking a long time to respond, typed sentences seeming to pause and then jump to the end, video noticably jerky accompanied by a crackling through the speakers.
The system had a fresh re-installation of Vista done, which seemed to solve the problem briefly, reappearing again after a week or so, and then upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 in an attempt to solve the problem, again the symptoms appeared to stop after the upgrade (or weren't as evident) and returned yet again after only another week or so.
First thing i did was check task manager for something slowing the system. I suspected perhaps some malware or a trojan on the system.
This is where it gets weird. Nothing. If for instance theres just 1 browser window playing a flash game, it slows to a crawl. CPU shows 75-95% usage, yet nothing is seemingly using it. To go a little deeper I installed sysinternals process explorer to see a little deeper into what might be causing it. Again, nothing. Showing overall High CPU usage, but nothing appeared to be using all of the CPU..................
Acer :: Aspire 1410 High Pitched Noise/Whine
Mar 17, 2010I ordered and received my Acer 1410 (Celeron SU2300, WD Scorpio Blue 250GB, Windows 7 64, 2GB RAM) a little over a week ago and while I like almost every aspect of it, I'm wondering if the high pitched noise / whine I'm hearing from it is normal?
Basically I only hear it when there isn't much noise around, but it's still mildly distracting. It mainly comes from the area near the indicator lights, but is most apparent under the laptop where the RAM / HD slot is. For some reason the sound is much louder with the AC adapter plugged in. On battery, the noise is basically gone (but will come back for short periods of time). I can also hear the whine through the headphone jack if nothing is playing (at least on AC power).
What might be the cause of this noise and is there any way I can get rid of it? The RMClock trick doesn't work since the option to "Run HLT command when OS is idle" is grayed out and cannot be selected.
If I decide to return this and get another 1410 later (since the online store I bought it at is sold out right now), would I be likely to get another one with this whine/noise?
Acer :: Fan Speed Goes High When Coming Out Of Standby (TravelMate 6463)
Aug 29, 2007my laptop has displayed this problem. Both on two Acer TravelMate 6413 and the current 6463, I've found that the fan speed varies with system activity. Elsewhere on these forums I've seen advice about altering the CPU speed and GPU speed to keep the fan speed down, but my problem seems to only be about coming out of standby.
Normally, the fan speed varies with the load on the machine. If I put the laptop into standby and bring it back out soon after, the fans quickly race up to speed and then vary with the load on the machine, expelling hot air.
If I leave the laptop in standby for up to an hour, then resume from standby, the fans come on at high speed, blowing cool air. This continues until I put the laptop under heavy load - then the fan speed comes down and starts to vary as expected once more.
Acer say it's a known microsoft issue, but I can find no evidence of it. I think it's probably an unresovled BIOS fault.
Acer Aspire V15 :: Nitro Black Edition - CPU Temps High When Plugged In
Jan 8, 2015Recently I have purchased the Acer v15 Nitro Black Edition gaming notebook. Though I've noticed that not very intensive games are stressing my CPU to about 80-90C, which I am not entirely certain is the norm. This seems to happen primarily when the laptop is plugged in, as temps seem relatively stable when unplugged. I recently turned my CPU power down a bit (to 96%), and that has seemed to keep my temps relatively stable.
I guess my question is: Is this normal? I feel like those temps are way too high, and I fear of burning out my CPU. I am going to pickup a cooling pad today, and start using it when I play games. I am relatively certain my fans are working, but my CPU temps jump around quite a bit. I know gaming laptops are built to get hot, but the last thing I want is to burn my new toy.
Acer Aspire 5733Z :: ETD Control Center High CPU Usage 50% ( ELAN Touchpad )
Dec 4, 2014I have an acer Aspire 5733Z and all of a sudden I am having an issue with the ETD Control Center (ETDCtrl.exe) using and average of 50% CPU usage.
It's causing my laptop to lockup and go slow.
This just started today and came out of nowhere, I've never had an issue before.

Apr 7, 2010I had vista installed on my laptop, Acer 6920, (first OS) and it was direct from factory so everything worked fine. I then installed ubuntu and everything still worked fine. I then deinstalled both of those to put on windows 7 RC where all my hardware was working perfectly (minus the fingerprint reader but i honestly couldnt care about that thing) so my computer eventually got pretty bogged down with crap to the point where boot was about 30 minutes. during this whole time my sound seemed to work, but near the end windows stopped finding any internal sound related hardware (the speakers and the mic). For other reasons i did a clean reformat (3 times) and reinstalled 7 Professional 32 bit and when i booted i downloaded all the drivers and everything seemed to install correctly, but when i rebooted the sound still didnt work nor did the mic. the exact error message windows is giving me is "No Audio Output Device found" however when i plug in a headset or a bluetooth adapter + headphones there is audio and it works perfectly. I really need sound to work as some programs crash if they dont detect a sound output and also for monitoring audio recordings.
I have tried installing all of Realtek's drivers. Literally all of them. None of them worked what so ever despite clean installs and deinstalls.
I now am running 64bit and ive almost given up on this problem. I bearly saved this computer and i dont wanna have to buy a new because of sucha stupid issue like this.

Under the hardware manager in windows there is no tree for sound devices. there was an unknown component which i put forceware on as i thought it was the sound device but no go.
