Sometimes when I am typing on my Mid 2009 macbook white there is a sort of buzzing sound, I have ruled this down to the magnet on the top left of the screen as if i put somthing magnetic near it i can hear the magnet moving slightly, I havent had this issue with my 17" MBP
Is this anything to worry about or is it a common problem? it only happens when the screen is at certain angles
While watching a DVD last night in OSX, I noticed a buzzing sound in the right speaker when I was above 70% of the volume.. At half the volume, I don't hear the buzzing noise. It's kind if annoying especially when you're watching long movies. Anyone else have this problem?
Oh yeah, and my CPU temperature went up to 90C. Is watching a DVD that cpu intensive?

I just opened my first ever macbook pro from its box. I've noticed immediately that when the unit is tilted in any direction, sideways, back, any direction, an electrical "buzzing" sound will emit from the components under the keyboard.
It sounds very much like the "zzzzzzzzzzzz" sound one hears as they drive by power lines on the side of the road....only toned down quite a bit, obviously. But it's definetly an electrical noise. It's only emitted when I move the computer, but it's already annoying...I hear it every time. And I move/adjust/reposition this laptop around allot.
I just got my FW 590 CTO a week ago, and two days after I got it I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the display when the brightness is set to anything other than maximum.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI therefore have felt the need to come back, because I now now have a new problem (well its actually been around for a good few months). This problem is also a buzzing noise, but this time from the speakers and in particular, what sounds like the subwoofer. They randomly start making a crackling/buzzing/distorted static sound at random intervals when listening to music or videos or when using Skype, etc.
I've had this problem for a while and it hasn't bothered me as normally going to 'Acer eAudio Management' and simply swapping to '5.1 Output' and then back to 'Built in Speakers' solved the problem, albeit temporarily. Its been more of an annoyance than anything.
However, on Tuesday (2 days ago) I got my copy of Windows 7 through the post to replace my Vista installation. 7 is fantastic it really is, but since I have installed it all hell has broken lose with my speakers. The buzzing noise is now much more frequent, particualry when simply opening something such as Skype or Windows Media Player, whilst listening to iTunes. Swapping between the '5.1' and 'built in speakers' does stop the buzzing, but now, it comes back almost instantly.....................
Whenever i plug in my headphones into the audio jack i get a buzzing sound that is quite loud and irritating. However, the normal speakers are working fine with no buzzing sound.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently taken delivery of an E7240 with the FHD touch screen option. I am generally quite impressed with the laptop except for one thing, the touch screen buzzes. The sound is similar to a hard disk working, a bit random .. not a constant noise. Â The sound will immediately stop when I put a finger on the screen though which makes me think it's related to the touch screen itself.Â
Rebooting etc. makes no difference... shaking the laptop, smacking it (gently) etc. has no affect.....
I realise these laptops are new so perhaps there isn't much experience out there...
I've recently bought an Acer Aspire 6930G and am overall very pleased with it.
However, in the few weeks since i've bought it there has been one concern I have had.
Whenever the laptop is unplugged from the mains, it starts to make a faint buzzing sound. The sound seems to come from the 'tube' near the subwoofer on the back (where the power socket is on one side, and the Kensington Lock is on the other side). The buzzing also only seems to be coming from the right side of the laptop above the number pad.
What is also strange is that i am able to stop the buzzing by tipping the laptop sideways or moving the screen. This seems to indicate that something might be vibrating, but again only when the power cord is unplugged?
Like i say, i don't think its enough to take the laptop back (unless somebody tells me differently), but i am concerned enough to ask on here if anyone with the same or similar laptop has any ideas as to why this might be happening.
just got myself new MBP 13.
Everything is perfect except for one thing. I installed simple chinese characters support. It works fine, but after it goes to sleep or I close the lead, or after an hour or two of use, I choose pinyin option again, but when I type, it doesn't reflect chinese characters and just types in English, as normal.
The only solution to fix this is to restart, after which it seems to type normally again. Any idea what causing it? and how to get rid of it.
Also, is there any good 3rd party program for pinyin, like google pinyin for windows?
I was wondering why, on occasion, my AC adapter has a little buzzing noise (sporadic) coming from it?

I have tried to update to all kind of Realtek drivers, and I have done several system recoveries -
I have a one year old DV9774ca which suddenly overnight started a slight brrrrr sound from the cooling fan. Its definately the fan because if I watch it and the fan stops for a while then the noise coming from it stops.
At first I thought it sucked up something. I can't see anything, so I blew it out with compressed air, through the fan and through the vents, and it never helped.
I can only assume its the bearings in the fan. Theres no wires or anything sticking down.
I had a similar burrring fan noise once on a computer and if i tapped on the top of the cpu cooler fan the noise went away for a while.
My question is if theres bearings actually at all in these tiny little fans? Or what else it could be. I ask this in case anyone has had experience with these noises and have you either pushed/pulled on the fan blades and it stopped?
I have no issues changing the HSF myself as I build computers for myself and family. So its nothng new to me to pull things to pieces. I have been perusing ebay, etc, for a hsf model 434678-001, as I gather thats the correct one. I can't stand HP's prices so I will source it any where else!

About two weeks ago I noticed something weird with the brightness regulation of the display. When I tried to change the brightness
(always set up to the maximum) to a lower degree using the keys (Fn – F5) a high pitch noise can be heart coming from the screen (to be more exact -
from the lid of the laptop, below the VAIO logo), and it is very noticeable in a quieter environment. Continuing lowering the degrees of brightness would cause higher or less noise. The nosier setting is at 90% of brightness
Well After my first DV5T had really annoying buzzing, I asked for a replacement. Got the replacement and have been playing with it for about 3 days now and the buzzing is about 90% quieter.
I know a few others were experiencing this, but with the laptops side-by-side, there is a night and day difference between the two

View 10 Replies View RelatedI received my 1555 today and am absolutely over the moon. Trying to installing Windows 7 RC on at the moment and apart from some small hiccups - due to user erroor everything is going smoothly. BUT
From the moment I plugged in the a/c power adaptor I noticed that every so often it produces a buzzing noise? It happens every 20sec to 1min or so and last between 1sec to 10sec each time. Does anyone's do that? Not only that, it gets pretty hot as well, when I put my hand on it(on the label side) it feels really hot, in fact so hot that I have to take my hand off unless I 'made' myself stay there. Is this normal?
When I am burning a cd or dvd, the drive makes a really loud buzzing noise that sounds like its coming from some sort of vibration.
If I push the drive in and up just a bit while this happens, the vibrations stop and the noise goes away.
When the laptop is under video stress there is a loud high pitch buzzing sound coming from the back left of the laptop(GPU?) Is this normal?

I am talking about the pack that's in between the laptop plug and the sock plug. I'm sitting about a foot away from it and I can hear a little buzzing, plus it is hot to touch (I can touch it for a few seconds though).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought my y510p brand new from Lenovo about 11 months ago. About 2 days ago, my fan suddenly started making a very loud buzzing/grinding noise. Prior to this, it was perfectly quiet. The fan makes this noise inconsistently, and at this point, leaving it on a flat surface keeps it quiet. However, any tilting or jostling of the laptop makes the fan start buzzing again. I have noticed that running the dust removal utility will stop the fan from buzzing, and this seems to be the only way to return it to producing a regular sound after it has started.

I really don't think my fan needs to be replaced, but I am unsure what is causing this problem. I have never dropped my laptop--and its spent almost its entire life on my desk. The only thing that's changed is I moved it after it had remained in the same spot for several weeks--because I am currently traveling.

The inconsistency of the noise and the newness of my computer tends to make me think the fan hasn't worn out yet.
i transferred contents from my last computer using Migration Assistant, but it's happened twice where the sound icon on the top menu dissapears (without me doing so, and noone else uses this computer)

I have a DVI to HDMI cable that covers video and it works fine but so far that makes it work like a really REALLY big monitor. Since DVI doesn't output sound what do I use to get the sound to output to the tv as well?

The headphone jack emits a buzzing noise when I have it connected to my Logitech speakers.
It only makes the annoying sound when the AC Adapter is plugged into it. Is there any quick fixes for this problem????

It starts after the unit has booted. It tends to happen when the machine is idle. It's the same if the battery is in or out.
