View 9 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an e4300 last week. Whenever I try to stream hulu, or sometimes vids from youtube the computer locks up. It is really starting to get frustrating. I seem to have the latency issue in check. I read in a thread to download intels matrix storage manager, and that helped. I have also disabled the esata ports and LAN. I am running vista buisness x86 sp1. I am just using the drivers that came on the install cd. I am hoping that someone can help me out, because if I cant get this fixed I might just return it. I really like this computer and dont want to have to do that.

I was looking at the dv2z but the slower processor was a concern for Flash-based video and other processor intensive streaming video. Am I safe going with the dv2z, or should I be looking at the dv3z? Or even the dv4t? All three seem to be in the same approximate price range. More compact is better, but acceptable performance is most important.

Do 4810t stream multimedia content better if running Windows 7? I guess i can wait till then.
Videos from Vimeo and Streetfire.net ( i work in automotive media ) are slow, stuttering or just plain unwatchable. Some of it isn't even HD content, and even when you wait to cache up and load then play it still is choppy.
when switched to dedicated graphics, do the dedicated and integrated graphics work side-by-side together.
I kind of got this impression since one reseller listed the VRAM on the Pros as being 512 and 768, respectively.
If a MacBook Pro model was announced that is 1.2"-1.3" thick (.25"-.35" thicker than the current 15" model), and it came with a 280M GTX, would you buy that over the thinner model with a slower video card?

I havn't opened it up yet but I've always been curious about why they show 9400M and 9600M GT are there 2 video cards in this notebook ?
Daughter told me that her MacBook Pro looks like it lost the video card again. I plugged it into my MacBook Pro and got her homework files off of it. I'm going to bring it into the Apple Store this morning where they will most likely replace the motherboard but it will be down for a week. The system is a few months shy of three years old so the extended warranty should cover it.
My question is do current MBPs still have the video card problem? This is the second MB replacement for this computer so I expect the replacement motherboard to last about 1.5 years. I would probably want to buy a replacement before then so that she doesn't lose her system during school. I think that we have enough in the way of spares so that she can get by - I'm probably going to give her my Dell XPS M1330 for the week but I'd like a long-term solution. I don't think that I will give her my MBP as she games and I don't want to lose my system.
I just want to get an idea of the power of the 9600m GT video card that comes with the macbook pro's. Now on my desktop computer I have a 3 year old ATI 1600x 512mb PCI-e video card which is definitely getting old. My question is can anybody tell me how the 9600m GT compares to the ATI 1600x, is it better? this way I can get an idea of the power of the 9600m GT because I know pretty well what the 1600x is capable of.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to get a new Macbook Pro for Christmas and I am pretty decided on everything but processing speed. I will be using my laptop for web design (Adobe Creative Suite CS4-sometimes multiple programs at same time), video editing (Adobe Premiere CS4, Final Cut Pro) and possibly sometime in the next 3-4 years, animation (Maya). I have two 2 TB hard drives and I'd be editing with video footage on them most of the time. Not playing any games. I'm pretty decided on getting a 15" (have one now and like the size for traveling+editing), 320 GB 7200rpm hard drive and 8 GB memory. However I have no idea what processor speed would be best for me between 2.56, 2.66 and 2.8.
What processor do you think would be best for me? Is there a big difference between the three making the higher ones worth the money? Is there anything in my current setup that I should change for optimal results?
Also, you can get a spare battery and use it as a second battery right? I'll be traveling a lot (like round the world) so extra battery time will be needed.
I'm trying to stream radio from here. It said I have to download Flip4Mac, did that. Still not working though.
View 4 Replies View RelatedTo start I should remind everyone that i'm not a mac user. I have never owned a mac or used OSX properly before today. As such, my opinions should be taken as coming from someone who has much knowledge and experience as far as PC's are concerned, but who is a total mac n00b.
First Impressions
When I first walked over to the Macbooks I was quite taken aback. The build quality is out of this world. In fact, I immediately walked over to the latest PC laptops to compare and immediately thought "manufacturing FAIL". Really, the Macbooks are italian sports cars, and PC's are 30 year old farm tractors to use the typical "car analogy".
The Macbook
I really only had any interest in the Macbook when I first went to the Apple stand, but came away with the intention of buying a MacBook Pro. Let me explain:
The MacBook's build quality is awesome. It's solid, no creaking plastic or flexable build, completely and utterly solid. Awesome.............
I have been speculating over this prospect giving the direction that Apple took with the starting price of the 24" iMac (upgrade everything else and downgrade the VRAM).
I mean, this is something I would like to see, but I wonder if it is a smart move on Apple's part given how much they make off the current MBP's with the so called Apple Tax.
And, if they made this move, one has to wonder if it still would be considered a Pro.
This is going to be my very first Mac. I'm really excited about it, but I don't know which one I should go for... I narrowed it down to these two models. Which one should I go for and why?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a black macbook this summer and every night when I'm in bed trying to do work I can barely see which keys is which. Obviously this wouldn't be a cheap fix but is there a way or is it possible to install the new light up keys of the new macbooks onto a pre-remodel macbook?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded this updated for my unibody Macbook Pro, and I think it's pretty vital. However, it gave me this error when I tried to install it: "You cannot install Macbook, Macbook Pro software update on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.5 or newer." Now don't tell me that I have selected the wrong partition to install the update, or that I need to update my OS to 10.5.5 because I already have 10.5.6 and I chose the Macintosh HD partition to install the update.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I'm definitely getting a 13" Macbook or Macbook Pro. Apple has some great prices on refurbs so that's probably the route I'll be going however I'm having trouble discerning the difference between the 13" Aluminum Unibody standard macbook and the 13" Unibody Macbook Pro. From what I've read they both have the upgraded screen, they're obviously both unibody, both have the large button-less trackpad, and both have the 9400m. They even have the same dimensions and the only difference I can see between the images is a slightly different case bevel (also the firewire and sd card ports, both are useless to me).
Unfortunately, none of the Apple stores or BestBuys in the area have a non-pro unibody 13" Macbook for me to actually handle and compare. So, basically, what makes the pro version with the slower cpu and smaller hard drive at the same price point worth it?
If I make an image of my hdd from my white macbook with disk utility onto a hard drive I take out of a unibody macbook pro will it work and boot properly?
I will do this by taking the 250gb hdd out of the unibody macbook pro and putting it into a sata external usb hdd enclosure, then making an image of my current 120gb white macbook and writing the image onto the 250gb. After, I plan to put the 250gb hdd back into the macbook pro and boot it up normally as if everything from my white macbook was just copied onto the macbook pro.
Was curious what is the difference between the short-lived aluminum macbooks and macbook pros. Only thing i could spot is the illuminated keyboard.
View 8 Replies View RelatedShe has a white macbook with leopard I think, and has a separate partition in which she has boot camp, she uses specialized software that can only run in windows (doesnt run in vm). She got a new macbook air but wants to keep everything intact.
Do programs like duper clone drives with all files intact, including partitions? Keep in mind that the windows side is more important, installation of this software can only be done remotely from Russia, so it's a bit of a hassle if we screw up, we have to contact IT at a specific time and get them to do it.
Would I have to take the drive of the macbook air out? Or can i just clone to an external hard drive and then move that to the mba hard drive, in target disc mode or something.
I really love the black color of MB404, but is it good? does it crack easily?(is it plastic?)
Hows screen quality?
What do you think? which one should i buy?
I really wanted to buy Alu one before i hear about slanted keys and loose battery covers(i know %99 of them don't have that, but it's hard to risk when there's no way to fix it in here), because there's no Mac center in my country and i'm SO picky.
i9300 owner here. It's killing me that I can't get HD video streaming (Hulu, Youtube, Slingbox, etc...) to work smoothly on the 9300.
Any suggestions on how/if I can make this happen. It's killing me as I'm getting a new desktop that will stream HD just fine but I wanted to retire the 9300 to my media watching machine at work?
I just pin modded to 2.3ghz, have max memory (2gb), running windows 7, a 6800 go gpu ( with NBF MobileForce Se7en 190.38 drivers ), 60gb 5400 HD.
I want to know to hook up my laptop to my tv to watch movies.
1. Am I capable of watching at full 1080p? My laptop has a blu ray drive.
2. How do I stream to my tv?
Sony VAIO® VPCEB17FX/B 15.5 with a Sony flat panel with HDMI?
The VAIO has HD and HDMI.
I've been looking at basicly two models, both got almost the exact same price tag here in Norway, so I'm not sure which one to go for.
The first ones is a MacBook Pro 15" with High-resolution 1650x1080 glossy screen, featuring the top of the line Intel Core i7-620M CPU the other is a MacBook Pro 17" with even higher resolution (1920x1200) glossy screen, featuring the slightly slower Intel Core i5-540M.
I don't list the other specifications as I don't really care about them, I already got a pair of 4GB 1600MHz CL7 (2x2GB) DIM's and a Intel X25-M 80GB SSD that I'll be using anyway.
There will be lots of movies and series played on my MacBook Pro, that's why I don't really considering paying a premium for the anti-glare screen, even though I love anti-glare and tend to struggle with glossy screens I don't see the point in actually paying more for it. And when watching movies and series, in often very dark rooms the glossy screen actually have some advantages.
The hard thing to decide here is slicker and lighter, with smaller screen and lower resolution, but better CPU versus the bigger, more heavy but featuring bigger screen and Full-HD+ resolution but slower CPU.....................
Similar to a post about the T530 I used to record streaming audio (internet radio, youtube, playback etc.) with Snagit on my old computer, now on new W530 I cannot find "line out, mono out, wave out," devices to record from, only "microphone".Â
On the Lenovo W530 using Windows 8 Pro I followed the follwoing steps posted elsewhere for the T530:
Â
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Recording ... right-click to check Show Disabled Devices, then choose Stereo Mix as Default (may also want to right-click on Stereo Mix and double-check Properties: make sure Listen level is not at zero)Â
Â
After showing disabled devices on the sound > recording tab the tab still shows only one device, the "Microphone".Â
Â
If it is possible how on  Windows 8 or the W530 (and possibly other models) do we get the line out / mix out / mono out / whatever they call it for the sound that comes out of the computer? Â
I used to record streaming audio (internet radio, youtube, playback etc.) with Audacity on my old T43; now on new T530 no matter how I configure Realtek sound and Audacity I cannot. On the T43 I recorded using "SoundMAX Digital Audio: Wave out". Wit other soundcards it could be "Stereo mix". I get no option of choosing either Wave out or Stereo mix in Audacity.Below is an extract of Audacity WIKI page: URL....According to this information the issue might be Lenovo disabling the possibility of direct recording???
Â
"Sometimes "Stereo Mix" can only be made to work by using the control panel supplied by the sound card manufacturer - this is often reported with RealTek inbuilt sound devices. Try launching the sound device control panel from the Windows Control Panel or the system tray (by the clock). If you see a volume control for Stereo Mix, try clicking to select it. Confusingly, some RealTek devices "select" an input by muting all but one, so in this case, mute everything except stereo mix. If you don't see Stereo Mix, click the wrench icon and enable Stereo Mix in the dialogue that pops up.
In some RealTek versions the option to check is "Enabled recording multi-streaming". You should now see a volume control for Stereo Mix. Remember to select or unmute it as above. Be aware that on some machines, the "Stereo Mix" option will never work because it is disabled internally by the driver settings due to copyright concerns. This is a known issue with Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, but sometimes editing the driver files can enable stereo mix."
I've got two quick questions. Ones an issue, ones more of a slight curiosity bordering on issue.
A, when watching streaming movies on Hulu in full screen, high quality, the video is jerky. I can watch hidef rips just fine, but streaming high quality is very poor.
And it's not my connection, as both my desktops and my other laptop (an older M2000) handle it just fine.
I have an HP laptop 2000, Model # ??. I recently have experience my computer freezing while on a youtube video or even an audio freezing after a few minutes unless I move the mouse/cursor. How do I correct this?Â
