you can see here two vaio graphic cards ..
9600M GT and GT 330M
That really surprised me that 330M doesnt support DX 11
My VGA card Nvidia ((Geforce9600m)) has a 54c to 50c on Idle. gaming 87c to near 90c on playing Burnout paradise.
so, is that normal? or should I downclock my VGA? if so . how could I do it. note: my VGA card setting is default.
Does the NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 9600M GT video card in the HDX16T output 1080P thru HDMI port? (i have the 1366x768 display on my latop)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI thought hp discontinued the 15.4 inch notebooks. How does a 9600m gt fair in a 15.4 chassis. Is heat an issue?
[url]
I was hoping they would be *about* 500/1250/800 (the nvidia reference clocks)
Does anyone know the windows clock speed?
when the MBP first came out, but with no results other than people saying it would get too hot... maybe now people have had some experience with overclocking it on the MBP?
I gather you can essentially patch the firmware so it behaves as a 9700m GT. Are there other ways, as that sounds risky to me? Anyone overclocked theirs?
Alternatively, do any recent drivers give significantly better results?
Can the New Mac's NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M equal in performance as compared to the mobile 9800GTX ? or is the 330M worst off ? what actually is the 330M's performance like ?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am looking to buy a macbook pro 15 inch very soon and I decided that I will buy a good quality SSD with it, i know its expensive but I think it will be worth it, anyways I was looking at the following two SSD and it seems that they have pretty good reading and writing speeds:

my question.
which one is the better one of the two? and also I came across the following SSD, which states that it is a mac version!

I was wondering what is the difference between a mac edition SSD and a non-Mac edition SSD and will the above two SSD's fit into the new macbook pros and work properly?
I just want to get an idea of the power of the 9600m GT video card that comes with the macbook pro's. Now on my desktop computer I have a 3 year old ATI 1600x 512mb PCI-e video card which is definitely getting old. My question is can anybody tell me how the 9600m GT compares to the ATI 1600x, is it better? this way I can get an idea of the power of the 9600m GT because I know pretty well what the 1600x is capable of.

We need to collect as much information as we can about this.
I have had my 2008 unibody macbook for sometime now. 3 weeks ago there was a clunking sound in the fan constantly. picture a Ford Model T sound like " dugdugdugdugdug" or something i cant explain the sound. suddenly today it got a ton worse. now sounds like a lawnmower. Here is a video of someones macbook that sounds EXACTLY like mine.

i would just like to know how hot the 15 inch macbook pro unibody runs after being under load for a few hours. I will be playing games 3-4 hours straight some nights.
i heard it runs at 70 degrees celsius under load and it stays around there, but if its running that hot:
Is it uncomfortable to use on your lap? will you want to take it off your lap after a few seconds?
Any tips on keeping it cool? i dont understand how a notebook cooler helps that much, as there are no intakes on the bottom of the notebook. And because of that how does keeping the macbook on your bed affect its temps at all? as long as you keep the vents sucking air in and blowing air out clear shouldnt it not matter?
For some reason I always had an idea that it was a 32 bit machine but is it 64bit?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm planning to switch to Mac and I'm thinking about a MacBook Pro 15-inch with these specs:
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM3 - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
I'm wondering if it's compatible with Snow Leopard?
i have a 13 inch macbook pro and the latch cut-out area has cut my finger... yes, thats right, it has extracted blood from my index finger. I thought that the edges on the latch area where sharp but this is ridiculous. I want to call up Apple and complain about this.
Any of you ever had any issues with this? Look at your aluminum macbook and see how sharp those two points are where the opening lid latch is and you will see what i am talking about.
I just got the new Macbook Pro and its awesome! I was a PC user earlier .However I was wondering whether the Macbook Pro 17 inch ( newest model) memory can be changed, I got the 4 GB RAM and want to upgrade to the 8 GB ram.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI worked my off to get this laptop. So I want to protect it as much as I can for as long as I can. I realize that since this is aluminum, it may experience corrosive pitting if I'm not careful.
SO, what case is the best to prevent this and to keep scratches off? I dont care if it changes the look, just give me the best one!
Another question, how are u supposed to pull out the magsafe anyway? Everytime I try to take it out, it always feels like the edge is going to scratch near the ports
I had a chance to stop by at apple store today, and compared the anti glare screens on both 15 inch and 17 inch models. To my surprise, the 15 inch one was much brighter than 17 inch one. I made sure that both had max brightness settings, and it was clear that 15 inch one was superior. maybe this 17 inch display model was defect? anyone has opposite experience? (btw, I hate seeing myself and losing focus because of reflective glassy screens)
View 4 Replies View Relatedso tomorrow my friend will put his laptop together, (he will get the ati 3670 card, he could get the 4670 (if he paid some extra money) but he is not some super-gamer and said he could live with 3670 without any problem.
i knew that ati 3670 512mb and nvidia 9600M gt 512mb was pretty similar, but ati 3670 performs actaully better, (quite much better).

Are these safe to install on my DV7T? I notice HP has never issued an official graphics driver update for this notebook. The one and only version from them is from November 2008.
The release highlights has me salivating - particularly the bit about a 45% increase in Mirror's Edge with antialiasing enabled. Since there are about 7 months of driver updates in this release I should see some big improvements in my games.
Any one still experience the blackout problem when playing games in Windows? Is the problem fixed after updating the firmware to the latest one. Just want to make sure this is not a hardware issue cos I am buying a macbook pro very soon.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried downloading the latest Nvidia notebook drivers for x64 and installing on vista x64 and i get this error message
"The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
my macbook has a Nvidia 9400m
How do i install the latest nvidia drivers on my macbook. the ones that came with my are from 12/24/08 (driver ver 7.15.11.7753). And im trying to install 179.48_notebook_winvista_64bit_beta.exe.
can unpack the driver exe and force and update through device manager?
has anyone done that before? or is there another way to get updated nvidia drivers to work on my macbook.
this might've been asked but do the new unibody macbook/macbook pro gpu's (9400m, 9600m gt) have the same problems in manufacturing that caused higher than normal gpu chip failures in the last generation of nvidia gpu's (8-series)?
i've heard so much bad press about those chips but i'm not sure if nvidia has fixed the issue with their current 9-series chips.
Apple will mail me a new 17 inch MBP unibody(Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66, 4G memory, 320G hard drive) and I found out that I like the 15 inch MBP unibody more (lighter yet the same powerful machine). Is there anyway that I can take it back to apple store and exchange for a 15 inch MBP?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my sisters old macbook pro which is a late 2007 model with the following specs:
15.4 inch LED screen (1440 x 900)
160 gb 5400 rpm HD
2 gb of ram (the standard that it came with) - 667 mhz ddr2 sdram
GPU: nVidia Geforce 8600M GT with 256mb

Superdrive: 4x DVD+R DL writes, 8x DVD+/-R read/write, 4x DVD+/-RW writes, 24x CD-R, and 10x CD-RW recording
No applecare left on it
Condition: Very minor wear and tear, but its in excellent condition because its been in a speck plastic case from day one with all the protective casing features below and kept in a neoprene sleeve when on the go
Battery: there are two, one is absolute shot (as in it lasts about 1 minute before i get a low battery warning), the other is brand new and hasnt been opened yet
Accessories: it also came with a brand new (not even opened) battery, a full body speck plastic case, rubber keyboard cover, trackpad film cover, and rubbery/felt like cover for the part below the keyboard and trackpad buttons, oh and a 15 inch neoprene sleeve...my sister is sort of a freak about protecting it............
I just sold my old black macbook on eBay. Lo and behold, an opportunity presents itself in the form of the Aluminum Macbook in the NBR Marketplace.
Anyway, how does the 9400m compare to the 9300ms that is in the Asus N10J?
I already have a Clevo laptop for gaming, this would strictly be for ultaportability and perhaps some gaming while on the road for clients.
I've heard you can't, but don't actually see anything excluding that integrated 9400 on Nvidia's page.
Anyone know? (Or if you can't, can you force install the regular or notebook drivers through device manager as you can on Nvidia hardware under XP?)
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705, Core 2 dou, 2 GB Ram, Very powerful laptop. I have an ATI Video card in it that I've been trying hard to upgrade to a Geforce. I bought 6 till with no luck at all, I bought all of them off ebay, the last one was a couple days ago, when I got it, I installed it and everything was working perfectly, I was so happy cuz this is the first one that actually works, after 1 hour of using it, red flickers started appearing on the screen, I restarted, tried different drivers, tried placing it again.. no luck at all . Now I have different colored lines and blinking pixels all over the screen, the background changes colors.. yellow, red, green.. and its not just on windows.. Bios, safe mode, everywhere.. I put my old ATI back and everything is working fine. I'm planning to send it back again to the seller, I attached some pics. I have a 90 w adapter but I dont think its a heating or power problems.
