I imported photos (JPEG) into iPhoto and deleted the original folder (backup is on an external drive).
Where is that 'folder' now, if iPhoto has control of it? Can I access that folder instead of going through iPhoto?
I have trouble, conceptually, of how to edit photos on Photoshop Elements 6 with the accompanying browser.

I don't need the entire CS4 Suite just photoshop and I am current college student so I get the discount. I was checking on Amazon last night and I can get the student edition for about $200, I could of swore I saw it for $150 a while back....
I was considering dropping down to Photoshop Elements but have grown up on the full version and am timid to drop to PSE...
I want to buy a notebook for everyday use and i`m gonna to take to the university so i need a notebook with at least 5 hours of battery life. I also want to have an opportunity to do heavy tasks like gaming, photoediting etc.
I`ve considered Macbook pro new 2010 line. The macbook pro 13 inch is perfect with its weight, battery life, design but.. performance with 320M card.. How is it ?

1) How is Mac OS for photoediting ex Photoshop CS4 ? Will 13" Macbook handle converting Raw photos to Jpg?
2) How is Mac OS in games ? How long does the battery holds when gaming om Mac OS?

4) Will I be able to play on macbook pro 13" Gta4, Splinter Cell Conviction - on medium setting?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used Aperture for quite sometime now and have quite a few thousand photos in the Aperture library from my DSLR, I just installed Lightroom as a trial to give it a whirl and see how it compares to Aperture. My question is, how do I import all the photos that are in my Aperture library to Lightroom? I haven't seem to found a way and links from a google search suggest that the photos that are imported through Aperture are stuck in the Aperture format, so I can only view them through the program itself not as an individual file in Finder, is this true?

View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have a bunch of photos and 2 hours of video. I'm searching for the best software to create some type of dvd with music/photos and video. I've done one of that kind (without videos though) with iDVD last year and the result was great I'd say. A couple of chapters with different photos and songs. If iDVD is a good option, can I add videos in the presentation easily? My video is uncut for now, all in one piece. If there a software to bring it from the camera to the computer and cut parts I don't want, make chapters (smaller movies) and put em in the presentation with the photos (with music).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've installed Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 on my Macbook Pro (15", 2.8Ghz, nVidia 9600M GT), but under Preferences>Performance, the GPU Settings section is greyed out with the message: "Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable. You will need to upgrade your video driver and possibly your video card."
I have tried re-installing Photoshop, trashing preference files etc. But the problem still exists. I can't find anything on the web about the 9600M GT or the 9400M not being recognised by Phothop CS4, so what could be causing this?
iam planning on getting the macbookpro15 with the 3.0 processor with 4gb ram. my main goal is to use photoshop and finalcut express. my current system as a thinkpad x200t and the canon 7d files are taxing the system badly. do you think this is the way to go?

So Photoshop CS 4 is giving me corrupt graphics. It's very random, I've only come across it a couple of times.

Now, down the side (taking more space away from my collection views), and I have to go to a menu to select between the different options its lists.....
Honestly Apple, why? Its crappy, out of place and makes me scroll accross because before I actually had enough room to get all the info I needed on my screen (track, artist, album, track number).... now.... not so much!

I purchased this new Acer laptop because from the reviews and specs I was confident it could handle PE13. I've had nothing but problems using the program though. Not sure if it's the laptop, the program, my own limited knowledge, or a combination.

I had returned the unibody Macbook I bought last December primarily due to the low quality screen. I'm wondering if anyone has comparison photos between the two (especially at different viewing angles), as I'm seriously considering purchasing the 13" again.

I purchased this model primarily to evaluate the 128GB SSD. This configuration has two 64GB Samsung MMCRE28G drives configured in RAID0 (Stripe). I'll post a new thread on my findings this weekend, if somebody else doesn't beat me to the punch. I also have a VPCZ11FHX/XQ on order with the 512GB SSD.
I DON'T HAVE MANY COMMENTS ON THE MACHINE AS I JUST FINISHED TAKING THE PICTURES BELOW. I will say that the previous generation Z charger works with the new Z. I haven't taken the new one out of the box.
I also have a video of the first-boot sequence that I'll try to upload this evening. In addition, I did a video showing the duration from power-on to loading Windows with the RAID prompt enabled and disabled. This will go in the SSD thread.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 3-month old Sony Vaio SR laptop is taking an age to open up photos - and I think it was since I installed IE8.
Since the window boxes within Windows Vista are run using IE technology, I am thinking it is to blame?
So when I open a photo in a photo album, it takes about 8 seconds to open. The photo sizes are only around 1mb each. Once the first photo is opened, I can browse to the next photo quite quickly. But if I close the picture window down and open another, it takes another 8 seconds to load up the photo.
I have Inspiron 15R 5520 running windows 7 my webcam works fine with skype and msn but i cant access it to take photos and videos who i can do this do i need a special software or my laptop can do it just fine ....

90% of my PC use would be internet browsing, photoshop elements editing and rarely watching some normal dvd movies.
Will this configuration be good enough for this, or I *must* consider dual core.
Just got a Hp Compaq 6535b, and i cant get photoshop to start on it. IT just freezes on start...Installing it took too long, and uninstalling it took waaaay to long.
reinstalled XP and again, same problem.
Could a conflict with some drivers produce this? anything reported on this issue around the net?
On the other hand, the hard drive, from day one, makes a clacking noise everytime it reads anything...is this normal? Could a bad HD be the cause of this photoshop problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC tx1218au working on Windows Vista Home Premium and AMD processor and NVIDIA graphics. I have installed the latest updates for my laptop. The problem that I am currently facing started more than a year back and is still in continuity. I have uploaded photos on my laptop and on initial stages I was able to view and edit them with ease. Later on I was unable to view the photos. Even when I load any new photos from my camera I am not able to view them. The photos donot seem to be corrupt. I have tried attaching these photos to my email and opening the same on my desktop and viewing them from my desktop.
I have this desktop which runs on Windows XP and Intel Processor. Whenever I try to open any of my photos with any of the software programs other than Quicktime, the laptop immediately stops working and it does some memory dumping and then my laptop starts again. When I open these photos with Quicktime, it gives me a message that my image is corrupt and it cannot open this file. Most of the photos appear as corrupt on Quicktime except for a select few which opens but in such a way that the photo is painted in color blue or showing some shadowy images. Because of this above problem I am not able to work with my photos on my laptop.
