Lenovo T400 / T500 :: T431s Left Mouse Click Does Not Work When Disable Trackpad For Cursor Movement

Jun 3, 2013

As a confirmed trackpoint user, having the mouse built into the trackpad of the T431s is causing me all sort of grief, including sore wrists - but there are two problems I can't seem to diagnose.

1)  When clicking the pad for left mouse click, it often does not work until I click it a few times.  I notice this more when I disable the trackpad for cursor movement (which I had to do because the cursor moves when I try to click) - but its there even when that is enabled.  It comes and goes.  I guess there could be some foot trapped in there, but I've only had it a week and been pretty careful.  I'd rather not learn to remove the keyboard on day 6.

2) The right click gets into a condition where, when browsing,a click brings up a new tab of the link I clicked on, rather than showing me the options (open in new tab, incognito window, save link, etc).  If I connect a real mouse, it is normal.

Apple :: New Aluminum Macbook 13.3

Feb 22, 2009

I just wanted to say that, I purchased a Macbook and iWork 09 and loving it! The laptop is amazing, it just works...

I've previously had a windows laptop which gave a lot of trouble and got sick and tired of windows. So I decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did. I'm still trying to learn how to use and get around leopard.

Apple :: Macbook Aluminum W/ 3gb Of RAM

Mar 2, 2009

I was thinking about upgrading my new Macbook Aluminum to 3gb of RAM. My Macbook is currently running with the stock 2gb configuration. The plan is to swap out one of the 1gb SODIMM for a new Crucial 2gb DDR3 SODIMM. Are there any downsides to running two different brands/different sized SODIMMs?

Apple :: Aluminum Macbook- Upgrading RAM

Aug 22, 2009

I just have a brief question regarding upgrading RAM on my Macbook. I have an Aluminum Macbook which I purchased at the beginning of the year. It has a 2.4 GHz processor, 2 GB DDR3 memory, 250GB HDD, and the 9400M graphics.

My question is:

1) Does upgrading from 2 to 4 make any significant difference in terms of photoshop and basic gaming? Would these differences also apply to regular use?

2) The memory speed is DDR3 1066 MHz. Does upgrading to a faster memory, for example, DDR3 1333 MHz make any difference? Or is the speed limited to 1066MHz, no matter how much faster the upgraded memory is?

Apple :: Durability Of New Aluminum Macbook Pro

Mar 20, 2009

I guess I'm rough on laptops because this one is starting to wear out and I haven't had it a year. How does the aluminum unibody hold up to heavy usage? I'm specifically looking at keyboard(I type fast and hard), mouse, and cd drive. Well, I guess I might be a little rough in handling too. I really like the construction if the new macbook pros and would love to get the new 17".

Apple :: Vents On The Aluminum MacBook

Jun 7, 2009

In OS X my MacBook is very, very quiet. You can't hear anything at all, at least compared to my Inspiron 6400s. I haven't heard the fan kick in yet while in OS X. Now, in boot camp, there's another story. I almost always hear the fan! What's up with that?! It frightens me knowing that the notebook is working extremely hard while just idling in XP, I'm afraid to play 3D games for too long, even though there's no lagging or fps drops or anything.

So here's the question. I'm certain that too much heat is a bad thing, but where the heck are the vents? On my Dells they're clearly on the back. On the MacBook i see absolutely no exit points for heat. This scares me.

Apple :: Aluminum Macbook 2.0 Ghz 9400 NVidia For Gaming

Aug 7, 2009

I just sold my old black macbook on eBay. Lo and behold, an opportunity presents itself in the form of the Aluminum Macbook in the NBR Marketplace.

Anyway, how does the 9400m compare to the 9300ms that is in the Asus N10J?

I already have a Clevo laptop for gaming, this would strictly be for ultaportability and perhaps some gaming while on the road for clients.

Apple :: Aluminum Macbook - Odd Restart - Indicating A Boot-up

Feb 17, 2009

I'm experiencing an odd restart issue with my Aluminum Macbook (see sig for specs). It is an occasional issue, happening maybe once every week or two.

Basically, it goes like this. I restart my machine for whatever reason, and as it reboots I get the apple (indicating a boot-up). Instead of booting up in 30 seconds as usual, the apple just sits on the screen for a while and then finally turns to an X. This continues each time I reboot. The only fix, I have found is to disconnect the power and remove the battery for thirty seconds. Then everything reboots as normal.

This has happened to me several times, the same scenario.

Does anyone have a hint for me on what might be happening?

Apple :: Aluminum Versus Polycarbonate Macbook- Fact From Fiction

Mar 14, 2009

I HEAR alot of people say Aluminum is more sturdy...

I HEAR alot of people say Aluminum Warps easier and Polycarbonate is better..

Iv'e read Articles such as [url]

And Yet alot of forums iv'e read Say just the opposite...

Iv'e read a bit about Aluminum macbooks having warping issues?

Iv'e read just as much about the plastic ones having cracking (Polycarbonate is supposed to be near unbreakable?)

One of the biggest reasons I am looking at a macbook is the build quality rumored around it. Which Factually is a better build? The White Polycarbonate Macbook or the Aluminum Macbook? I don't mind paying the extra $$ if the Aluminum is Factually a better build.

Apple :: MacBook Pro - Mouse Doesn't Respond As It Used To

Jan 16, 2009

My MacBook Pro is behaving funny after wrestling with my wife. Unfortunately the laptop was on a table side when my wife jumped on me and we were wrestling away.

She got my arm and twisted it behind my back i was desparate to get out of the arm bar and neck choke she was applying on me. In desparation I got out of her dealy UFC choke but as a consequence I kicked the laptop off the table by accident.

The laptop flew a few metres and landed hard on the floor. As you could see, this is no way to treat the laptop. Now my laptop is behaving strangely the mouse doesn't respond as it used to.

Will this be covered under warranty?

Apple :: Macbook Pro 13 - Displayport - How Do I Connect To The External Monitors

Apr 1, 2010

I bought the Macbook Pro 13" on March 21st, couldn't wait for the refresh.

Now my question is, how do I connect to the external monitors, as in which Mini Displayport do I need to buy? I see a lot of displayports at Fry's for under $20 for Mac but don't know which part number exactly do I need for my MBP.

Another question is, I might want to get the Mini Displayport to DVI. Would DVI to HDMI work from the Apple Mini Displayport? Would DVI to VGA work from the Apple Mini Displayport also? I have alot of DVI to VGA/HDMI adapters so I was wondering would it work if I just bought the Mini Displayport to DVI.

Lenovo 11e E540 E/Edge :: How To Disable The Trackpad

Jan 9, 2014

I have an E540 and today I spilled some liquid on the trackpad and now my cursor is moving around and clicking randomly. I use a mouse so I don't need the trackpad.

I've read online how to disable the trackpad but I don't have any of those options. Like disabling it in BIOS or in the driver(Control Panel -> Mouse) - I just have uninstall. If I uninstall windows 8.1 will just automatically reinstall it after reboot.

How can I disable the trackpad?

Dell XPS 15Z :: Trackpad Never Really Shut Down When Using Usb Mouse

Jun 29, 2011

I'm using either a usb or bluetooth mouse with my new XPS 15z, and i'm  getting tired of a problem...

The trackpad is impossible to shut down for good... i mean: indeed you can  disable it, turn it off, and even tell it to turn off when usb mouse is plugged, but it never really does, it always, always, always stays on for a second before shutting down...

In other words: my trackpad is disabled, both buttons and touch, and i use a bluetooth mouse. but even it is disabled, if i pass my fingers on it, the cursor moves for 1cm before shutting down... then i wait 2 minutes, and i pass my fingers on it again, and then again the cursor moves 1 cm before stopping moving.

So it is never really shut down, with the consequence i never can type text without my hand touching it and putting the cursor somewhere in the page and i have to put the cursor back to where it was,

For example it happened 5 times when typing this very text....

I have updated the cypress trackpad drivers to last up to date version...

Apple :: MacBook Air As Main Computer With External Monitor /keyboard/mouse

Mar 1, 2009

I'm thinking on using my MBA as my main computer, therefore I'm considering buying the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and the Mighty Mouse and hooking up to my HP Monitor for when I'm at my desk for long periods.

It's very easy to hook up ... this MBA seems quick enough and a usb hub can be added if need be ... why not use it as a main pc?

Further, the only windows app I'm really going to miss is Publisher, I'm thinking on being daring and installing Vista on the Mac with Bootcamp and then run Publisher in Windows. If that worked well I could get rid of the T500... (I have a desktop I could use for heavier app's, movie/music downloading) ...

Seems like a lot of work for such a small little machine, lol, can it handle it? Has anyone there done this before with success?

Sony :: Trackpad + Mouse + Sleep +vista + Vaio Z

May 19, 2009

This is specifically occurring on Z590, but may be there in all Z's.

If you have a USB mouse plugged in, and you go to sleep mode, and then disconnect the USB mouse, then when the laptop wakes up again, the trackpad does not work. If you plug-in the mouse at this point, the mouse works fine, but the trackpad is still entirely disabled. Vaio Control Center indicates the trackpad is still enabled, but no response at all from trackpad.

If you unplug the mouse, go to sleep, and wake up, the trackpad now works fine.

I am not sure when this bug was introduced, but can anyone replicate it as well? The trackpad seems to get disabled upon wakeup from sleep if the USB mouse was unplugged AFTER going into sleep mode.
