Acer :: Travelmate 2482WXMi - Mouse Will Only Work When I Connect An External Mouse When It's In Normal Mode
Jun 19, 2008
i have a ACER Travelmate 2482WXMi, i have done a fresh install of windows XP home, i have done a full format of the hard drive, but i have issues the touchpad will not work only in safe mode. I have installed most of the drivers through safe mode, but the mouse will only work when i connect an external mouse when it's in normal mode.
Also i do get some bad sectors on the hard drive, and it takes over 2mins to shut down the comp. I havent installed programs yet, except PC Wizard 2008. Also the laptop is not the base model with 512MB ram i have added a 1gb stick and it works fine. I am thinking maybe its the hard drive. If
Just recieved a lot of the new Yoga S1 laptops. I have searched the board and found others had this problem but the dates were old. Is there a new patch or fix?
THe Keybaord and touch pad stopped responding, put in a USB mouse, and that works. It crashes when you try to shut down, and holding down the on/off switch does nothing (the whole keypad has died, but lights still work).
Remove battery, and reboot, F2 works to get into BIOS. Alt F10 does nothing on bootup so i can return to factory defaults.
Press F8 and boots into safe mode, keyboard and mouse work fine. Reboot into normal mode, keyboard and mouse no longer work (mouse works if you moce it as windows starts to load, then it just stops). Have to remove battery to reboot.
Complety removed all partitions and formatted, then tried to restore with my backup disks made long ago, but as soon as windows boots, same problem.
Alt F10 still no longer works on bootup, although it is enabled in the BIOS.
It is an Acer Travelmate 2310,
I have even tried to install a new version of XP, from a standard disk, but half way through install, keyboard stops working.
The fact it works in safe mode tells me it's cant be dodgy wiring, whcich usually means driver problems, but the fact ti does it with restore or new install is very confusing.
I have an issue with my touchpad on my Acer Travelmate B115. After a while of working as expected - my mouse goes crazy. Like someone touches wildly and randomly on the touchpad including left and right clicking.Searched in the web and didnt found something that worked. Some Information that should be important: - Problem on windows should be solved by reinstalling mouse driver...- It is a fresh installation. Tried several linux distributions and none worked longer than 5 minutes.
I got my wife an HP DV2 for Mother's Day. She was extremely excited because she has needed a new laptop for quite some time. Anyway, we opened it and started to boot it up everything was looking good. I then happened to glance down at the mouse buttons and noticed that the left button looks as if it was pressed. There is definitely a gap when running your finger across the buttons. When pressing the right mouse button, it moves down as far as the left button sits while unpressed.
Now, I should clarify that the left button still works, it is just sitting lower than it seems like it should. I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with their "brand new out of the box" HP DV2. My wife and I were both extremely bummed out, only because I equate it to buying a brand new car and noticing that the headlight is pressed in a little it and is uneven. Are we being too picky? To us, it seems ridiculous that a $700 laptop would have a quality issue like this.
I'm attaching a couple pictures showing the issue - in one, you can see me pressing the right button down to the level of the left unpressed button.
I have also already tried turning off and on again the "turn off mouse pad" button that the computer has. And it's only sometimes when I boot up the computer it won't responed, then I have to turn it off and turn it back on again in order for it to work.
Just bought an Aspire ES1-511. Not my first Windows 8.1 laptop, but my first with UEIF firmware.
I've been trying to boot Driveimage from CD to do an offline backup, and guess what, it wouldnt recognise the CD as bootable. Fixed that by setting the boot type to "Legacy" in the BIOS and it boots fine.
My problem is that the mouse doesnt work after booting from the CD. Watching the behaviour of the mouse, it powers up when I press the power button, but powers off immediately the POST completes.
If booting Windows from the HD, power to USB is restored as soon as windows loads to the lock screen.
Here are my problems as most of you are already familar with....
Mouse freezes when system is woken up from sleep mode.
Speaker crackles and I am unable to update driver. Tried several times.
How do i make sure all my drivers are up to date? Do i have to check each one manually?
Here are the steps I have taken to try and fix these problems....
20 hours on the phone with hp tech support. (i speak fluent indian now) tried to download speaker driver - unable tried to install updated mouse driver - unable installed updated Bios - caused the dm3 to go into blue screen 3 times re-installed windows 7 - problems still exsist...............
I noticed this problem with my studio 1537, I usually use a external bluetooth mouse at home, but I don't bring it to school. When I do use the mouse I disable the mouse touchpad.
However the problem is that if i kept the mouse on and connected and allow the laptop to sleep, when I turn it on the next day at school I don't have mine external mouse with me and the touchpad is still disabled, which I thought it would have automatically enable itself since it doesn't detect an external mouse.
I was just wondering if anyone does this and might have already figured out a way to solve the problem. So far the only way I can fix this problem at school without using external mouse is to restart the laptop all over after I wake it up from sleep first.
I have a g62 laptop with an external mouse and the cursor jumps all around when I am typing . I installed touchfreeze and unchecked "Hide Pointer While Typing" and neither worked. I also reviewed a suggestion to turn off "Touchpad" or something like that, and I can't even find this in my system.
When I'm using the laptop to write documents... or emails my hands brush over the touch pad and the slip act of swiping the neatly organized lines of text becomes jumbled gibberish
How do I disable the touch pad when using an external mouse?
Seriously sick of randomly clicking because my hands are too fat. I know that my previous dell had an option where it would automatically shut off the trackpad if an external mouse was detected. Is that available on the 13?
I got a new Twist a couple of days ago. When in tablet mode, the mouse pointer will come up and start moving around the screen. I think it may be one of two things. 1. The ghost of my former laptop is haunting the Twist or 2. The keyboard/mouse is not disabled in tablet mode and the back of my screen is causing the movement when I am using it in tablet mode. Is there a setting to disable the keyboard/mouse in tablet mode or am I the only one having this problem.
I'm thinking on using my MBA as my main computer, therefore I'm considering buying the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and the Mighty Mouse and hooking up to my HP Monitor for when I'm at my desk for long periods.
It's very easy to hook up ... this MBA seems quick enough and a usb hub can be added if need be ... why not use it as a main pc?
Further, the only windows app I'm really going to miss is Publisher, I'm thinking on being daring and installing Vista on the Mac with Bootcamp and then run Publisher in Windows. If that worked well I could get rid of the T500... (I have a desktop I could use for heavier app's, movie/music downloading) ...
Seems like a lot of work for such a small little machine, lol, can it handle it? Has anyone there done this before with success?
I have an HP Pavilion g6t Select. How do I set up my notebook to run as a basic desktop, i.e. with the cover closed and an external mouse, keyboard, & monitor?
New ThinkPad T440p and the first issue I encountered is there is no option to disable the touchpad when an external mouse is detected. I don't want to do it via the bios or some other hack as I use the touchpad when it is not convenient to use an external mouse. So it should be able to do the switching as needed, this is a simple feature that other manufacturers have had for years and years.
I already upgrade the UltraNav Driver to the latest v18.0.7.57 and that didn’t present a solution. I am running Windows 7 SP1 - 64bit.
have found the keyboard on its own for a bargain price, however it does not come with the USB bluetooth adaptor, just the keyboard on its own.
My question is will the keyboard (and the mouse if I ever buy it seperately) work with my Studio 15's built in bluetooth?
I have googled for ages on this but can't get a definitive answer. There have been mentions of 'no' some people say yes but you have to change the bluetooth stack e.t.c.
I have a MacBook Pro (MBP) with OSX 10.5.6. I use Logitech Bluetooth (BT) mouse and it works OK under OSX.
However, in Boot Camp running Windows XP SP2, the scroll wheel does not work. Everything else, like left and right buttons work. I tried it with another BT mouse and it's the same thing.
If I tried using regular wireless mouse, everything works.
I have a mighty mouse (the one with the scroll nipple), and for some reason I can only scroll upwards properly, scrolling down does not work or scrolls down slow and jerkily.
I bought precision m6700 and WM713 wireless mouse.I turned on my mouse, connected to my precision by usb which came with mouse, and it paired with my computer, device and printers shows there is WM713 wireless touchmouse. But after these steps my mouse didnt work. Mouse was turned on but doesnt track my pointer or click every role of mouse. Im using windows 7 64 bit. And when i go toWM713 wireless touch mouse application, There was battery level section but it says not connected, but i already connected my mouse by usb to my precision.
Solved issue of fan-noise in my T430 Lenovo thinkpad. I bought it 1 and half year before. Now I have following problems those I noticed recently in my machine.
(1) Two fingers mouse scrolling has stopped working.
(2) Whenever I press volume buttons I can not see the volume bar on the screen. Same when I press CAPS LOCK i can not see the notification on my screen.
i recently upgraded my g500 from windows 8 to windows to 8.1. But ever since then, my mouse does not work and the keyboard only works after standby. I tried to restore to factory defaults but that hasnt worked.
As a confirmed trackpoint user, having the mouse built into the trackpad of the T431s is causing me all sort of grief, including sore wrists - but there are two problems I can't seem to diagnose.
1) When clicking the pad for left mouse click, it often does not work until I click it a few times. I notice this more when I disable the trackpad for cursor movement (which I had to do because the cursor moves when I try to click) - but its there even when that is enabled. It comes and goes. I guess there could be some foot trapped in there, but I've only had it a week and been pretty careful. I'd rather not learn to remove the keyboard on day 6.
2) The right click gets into a condition where, when browsing,a click brings up a new tab of the link I clicked on, rather than showing me the options (open in new tab, incognito window, save link, etc). If I connect a real mouse, it is normal.
Well I havent had this problem before but when I installed left 4 dead it ran very good 60 fps but my mouse became jerky and laggy..its like i cant control it.. i move to the right it goes to the right with a little lag.. when i stop moving the mouse there is nothing..the game runs perfectly. Its also on CoD 4 : Modern Warfare the game runs smoothly and thecrazy mouse ruins everything i tried a diffrent mouse same result I am using a Acer Aspire 6920G with the T5750 Intel core Duo processor 4 GB Ram 250 GB HDD and the Nvidia 9500M GS Videocard
I have a Acer Aspire 5735-4624 and I just need to find out out to disable the annoying mouse zoom on Firefox and Internet Explorer. I was hoping some one could enlighten me on how to disable it.
