Jun 21, 2009Earlier i changed my window vista home premium to window 7, but then i changed it to window vista ultimate.
when i had window 7, my graphics card which is nvidia work perfectly fine, but after i change to window vista ultimate, i " lost " my nvidia driver. i downloaded nvidia driver at ww.nvidia.com but when i tried to install it, i get an error " The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hrdware. Setup will now exit."
I really want to install that driver, i have nvidia graphic card but i cant install the driver

Mar 25, 2013I just bought this new computer, an inspiron 17r se 7720 and whenever i try to open the nvidia control panel it says that in the system there isn't an nvidia graphic card when actually its there.Â
The graphic card its an nvidia gt 650m with 2gb of dedicated ram. I tried to flash the bios to the latest update but nothing. What can i do?

May 8, 2014I have a Dell inspiron n5110 with a dedicated graphic card. My laptop was running fine till yesterday but today as i started gaming on my laptop it started to shut down. I tried many things but to no avail. Then i uninstalled my nvidia graphic card and tried to run the game again it wroked just fine but as soon as i installed my nvidia card and triend running it on it the laptop again got shutdown. i searched the internet and found its wither my Power unit or my graphic card has become faulty.

Dell :: Inpiron 9300. I Want To Boot From USB External CD Drive
Jun 19, 2009I recently had my CD/dvdrw drive crash. It plays DVDs but not CDs and I need the CD portion to work.
Unfortunately I think I'm going to order one from dell and its going to take 5 business days (7 days cause of the weekend) and I need to boot up an operating system via CD for work.
My bios says that it can be started from a USB storage device, but my external CD drive doesn't even seem like its powered up when I restart.
In my bios, I have the boot option set to USB storage device and have it set as priority over any other boot option. I just paid for this external drive today, and things are still looking grim.

Apr 27, 2013My laptop was working correctly and then I booted up one day, the bios worked fine but then the screen went black. I connected an external monitor to the lap-top and the laptop display works fine. As soon as I remove the external monitor, again, I get a black screen on my lap-top.
I have run the full system option of the Dell diagnostics and have 2 errors, battery and dvd flash rom. I have ordered a new battery. I have also noticed that my lap-top does appear to get quite hot.

Feb 6, 2013I am working on my mom's Dell Inspiron n5010 Laptop. I have replaced motherboard, LCD and video/camera cable. Still getting 8 beeps until windows starts up. The video test worked fine on LCD.Flashed BIOS to A15, updated video drivers. Not sure what is still causing issue. I have also removed memory and replaced it. I am at my wits end.

Dell :: Switiching HD From 6400 With NVidia Card To Intel Card?
Sep 25, 2009Just swapped out my e6400 with the nVidia 160M GC fro a 6400 with the Intel card (due to heat issues).
I tried just swapping the hard drives so that I wouldnt have to reinstall the OS.
Its not letting me start Windows.
I think the issue is that I dont have the drivers on my older HD for the new motherboard/GC.

Oct 7, 2012I have an issue with my Inspiron N5010 screen, it doesn't work when switching on my laptop on Battery or AC mode. It happens a lot of times when I turn on the laptop the power button, the power indicators at the bottom turns on normally and the laptop is running without any weird sounds. But the screen is pitch black even doesn't show up anything when I concentrate on it in with a lamp or any light.
When I press the power button again even after 5 mins from the start time of being running the laptop just turn off immediately and doesn't take time to switch off as If the windows wasn't loaded!
I was resolving this problem by disconnecting the AC adapter > removing the battery > Pressing and hold the power button for 20 seconds technique.but today it doesn't work anymore, If there's anything I can do to get the screen backlight to work normally ....

I confirmed is not the problem of the fan of gpu and guess the noice is from the circuit board of gpu..

Nov 23, 2007I'm getting a weird white vertical line , about 2 inches thick, all over my display, it doesn't matter if I'm browsing software, or just at boot screen, the line is there.
Weird thing is, it seems to randomly dissappear sometimes, but appears again when trying to shut down the lappy, is the first time this thing happen to my display and I shuted down my lappy, hoping its propably a heat problem.

A quick call to the XPS service line has a new motherboard on the way to be installed.
This is the point were it gets interesting, I asked about the warranty enhancement from the dell blogs here
and was told that policy states because I am having a replacement in warranty I do not qualify for any warranty extension. I questioned the tech rep on were this policy was coming from, but she didn't really have a good explanation of the policy .....

Dell :: BAD News, Graphic Card Error After Warranty Is Out
Aug 7, 2007I was playing CoH, the game froze in the middle of a game. Tried to Ctrl Esc to get to windows, only part of the windows task bar showed up. It just stucked there for 2 minutes, and blue screen cam e up with error msg about nv4_disp.dll. So I was forced to shut down and waited 10 seconds to turn on again.
After turned on, I see some dotted lines all over the screen (even in bios), not so much that i can't see the bios, but it's definitely not usable. It tried to load into windows (with the dotted lines the whole time). The screen went blank after the waiting bar of winxp is finished. Nothing happens, so i am forced to shut down and turn back on again.
This time, i went into the diagnose before the windows load, and found the error 5300:0119 in the video memory. Called dell xps canada, I was told it's memory burne and it's out of warrantee , and it would cost me $650 to get 7900 gtx shipped to me to replace it myself.

The card i need is a Nvidia 8600M GS 512 meg version im finding it difficult to find this card does anyone know of any companies. i did manage to speak to one company and they said they were out of stock but they told me i could use an nvidia 8600M GT card instead.
