I have an Inspiron 14R N4110. It recently died in the middle of a session. After that, it would occasionally power up normally, but now it does zilch.
When I press the power on button, it doesn't even light up. The only thing it does is, the small LED on the edge of the laptop lights up. The LED stays lit and won't go off even if I press the power button. The only way to get the LED to turn off is to remove the battery. Nothing on the screen. I have tried removing the battery and using just the AC cord, and it does the same thing.
The laptop is barely a year old and, of course, 3 months out of warranty.
I have a dell inspiron N4110 and i have recently replaced the power jack on it. when it is plugged in the led comes on and says it is charging but it will not power on at all it diden't beep or have any power up signs.
The minute I turn on my Inspiron N4110 it turns itself off it just had it's hard drive replaced from a previous Dell Laptop. The first time I tried booting up three beeps after that no beeps.
I have received numerous shocks from my Inspiron N4110 when handling the case. Shocks come from sides and from underside of case--usually when reaching out to put the computer down after having it on my lap. This has happened when operating while plugged in (do not recall if it has happened also when operating on battery). On two occasions, it was sufficient to kil the screen and turn it into horizontal static lines. (See photo below.) No loss of data, and was able to power up again immediately. This unit is some 15 months old. What is causing this? Room is carpeted and air may be a bit dry, but this seems too strong a jolt to be static electricity.
Last week I purchased a dell laptop on line and received it one day after the shipping notification. That's the good news. During the setup process everything went well except the wireless connection. The laptop was connecting to the router intermittantly and now will not connect at all. I have checked every setting I know of and talked with my internet provider last night to see if they may be the problem. All the people I have talked with tell me that the problem is most likely the Intel Centrion wireless-N 1030 card and site issues documented on other sites.
My attempt to get information from dell on Sunday evening was a nitemare and so I sent an email via customer service but have not yet received a reply. Here is my gripe. This is a new laptop and I should not have to find a fix for this problem. Also, I am computer literate to a point and don't feel I should have to spend my whole weekend "trying" to get a wireless connection on a new machine. It usually takes seconds. I am trying this forum to see if I can get some answers but honestly I will probably return the laptop that is if I can find the spot on the dell website that will let me request that.
I have a MiniDV camcorder with lots of old cassettes I want to convert. I have tried unseccessfully to get an S-Video converter to work. Based on my research, my best option is to hook it up to a PC via a firewire. Unfortuately my recently purchased Inspiron from Dell does not have a firewire port. its possible to add a firewire port to this laptop?
I don't know what's up, it just turns off all the time. Then I have to go into the mouse settings and just re-click "apply" and it will be there again (even though it's still enabled).
Dell support is completely useless when I try to chat online with them.
I also have another issue where the top of my windows won't reach the top of my screen. There is a 0.5cm gap between all maximized windows and the top of the screen. It's just an empty space that shows through to my wallpaper. Once again dell support completely useless.
As you can see in my pic, I try to highlight the top of the screen but it just disappears.
I just changed mine Windows 7 64 bit os to windows 7 32 bit os. After setup all of the driver were installed beside Network Controller which i think the wireless lan is. My laptop is N4110 inspiron.
I been reading threads about dell beep codes problem. Mine comes up after days of expired waranty. Very dissapointed with it because I now that my 1 year waranty expired I can not contact Dell support anymore.
It's been unclear if the what's the problem cause but one thing is for sure. I am very dissapointed in Dell, looks like their product has only 1 year life span.
I have dell inspiron n4110 laptop. Every time i boot the system it takes 20 to 30 mins. But after booting my system works fine with out any hang. But booting alone it takes very long time even i formatted my system and tried. So i ran the diagnostics i got the below error
Error Code 200-01 42
Validation 10522
Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N 5WS2Q5WB, self test unsuccessful. Status = 7
I have a Dell Inspiron N4110 laptop, 64-bit operating system using Windows 7. Today, twice actually, it turned off with a blue screen appearing that said it detected a problem. I am worried there might be something wrong with my hard drive. And I know I should definitely back up my files. I am not very experienced with how to do this except I know I should put it in safe mode. I have a blank CD also.
I have an Inspiron 14R N4110 (bought 6 months ago) and recently the touchpad has been going crazy everytime I am using the mouse. It flicks back and forth between abling and disabling the touchpad, so much that I am unable to use the mouse because it continually engages and disengages. Some times it can happen 30 times in 1 minute. I went into the mouse properties and disabled the touchpad altogether but it still keeps doing it. I have run the diagnostic from the Dell site and downloaded all the required drivers, but nothing is working.
When I turn the laptop on it gets to the Dell logo screen then screen goes black with a cursor in top left corner but then it restarts again.Regardless if the F2 or F12 keys are selected or not, the systems restarts again. This cycle continues indefinately until I turn it off.
I have replaced the memory stick (brand new), the hard drive (brand new), the motherboard (used from ebay), and the processor (used from ebay) and still the same thing. I have tried it without the cd drive installed and same thing. I have tried it without the battery installed but with the power supply and same thing. I have tried turning it on with the windows disk in the cd rom drive and same thing.
I own a Dell Inspiron N4110, Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.
Today when I wanted to access my BIOS settings, I found out that I had already set one. It has been more than a year since I last accessed my BIOS. Now what the pass-code is. I looked up Google on how to recover the pass-code and none of it worked. A post I read on Microsoft said to ask the computer manufacturer if there is a "universal pass-code" ( something like that ) so that I can use it to access the BIOS and then reset the pass-code.
If you cannot seem to get a universal pass-code, I'm open to other methods on how to reset the BIOS pass-code.
I have a Dell Inspiron N4110, which I recently installed a new windows on. I can't seem to connect to the internet. Before the new installation the WIFI worked fine, but now even connecting through ethernet doesn't work. I looked through my Network drivers and there are only two.
I've tried download and installing others but no hope.
I have a Inspiron N4110 and I was wondering if I could upgrade or change my specs to increase gaming performance.
HERE ARE MY SPECS:
Windows 7 Home premium 64-Bit (6.1, Build7 7601)Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz6144 MB RAMDirectx 11Intel(R) HD Graphics family32-bit Right now
Inspiron N4110 When I shut the lid it enters sleep mode. Until now when I would open lid and push the power button it wakes up. Now it does nothing and I have to hold power button down to force shutdown then restart.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop, the power light (light on the power button) and the left front LED white light blinks every 5 seconds. It doesn't power on at all.
I have an Inspiron E1705 that will not power on. Was sitting in its docking bay when I went to bed and in the morning it would not turn on. Pressing the power button will cause the power and hard drive lights to blink once and then nothing. Pressing the power button with the Fn key causes the power and hdd lights to blink once and the three lock icon lights and wifi light to the left of the power button to all blink once at the same time. The fan is not coming on as far as I can tell.
I have re-seated the ram and tried each stick in each of the slots separately with no success. Reseated the hard drive, as well. The AC adapter is working properly (green light is lit when plugged in) and appears to be charging the battery. The battery is fully charged and shows 5 lights when the test button is pressed. I have tried all of these tests with just the battery and with no battery and just AC adapter plugged in.
I have a Dell inspiron n4010 that will not power on, the battery light flashes on for a couple of seconds when I plug the AC power adapter in, and then switches off. The laptop does not respond when I try to power it on.I have tried unplugging the AC power adapter, holding the power button down for 20 seconds and plugging it back in - that did not do the trick either.
I have a year old Inspiron N4010 that as of this morning will not power up. Until that time the charging lights and battery were all indicating the batrery was fully charged and everything was as it should be. This morning when i went to power up there were no lights, the laptop made no sounds....it was dead.
I have checked the power transformer and cord and it has a green light and power. I have taken the battery out and tried to power up. I have taken the battery out and reseeded it. Nothing is working.
I cannot try disabling the touch pad using the key to the right of the F12 key.
I have an Inspiron N5030 laptop. It won't power up and emits a steady beeping when turned on. I let it beep up to 15 times before i turned it back off. the screen stays black and although 2 lights on the front of it come on when i first turn the power on, the second light goes back off and just the first light stays on during the beeping. i have tried pulling the battery, tried powering it with the battery in and the battery out. When i looked up the beep codes, a steady beep was not one of the codes.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 that will not power on. After ordering a new power cord and battery, still nothing.I went on line and found videos on how to disassemble the laptop to check the power port. I found that mine was broken.I ordered a new one and following the instructions I replaced it. Still nothing when I press the power button. No lights on the computer at all.
I just unboxed my new Dell Inspiron 5748 (17 inches, core i7 etc. etc.).
I noticed a strange thing: there is no evidence that the notebook is powered up, apart of LCD screen lit.
When the screen goes off, you don't know if laptop is on or off.
There is a led in the left right edge of the front, but it lights up (after a BIOS update to A05, it was always dark with A04 BIOS) only when the power supply is connected.
When powering up the laptop with battery, the led lights up, but after one second it starts to dim until it is completely dark.
It is annoying, especially with Windows 8.1 that, when powering off the laptop, shuts off the screen several seconds before the laptop is really powered off.
I had a long phone call with technical support, but it seems that this behaviour is by design.
I also miss a HDD activity led, that could be a sign of the computer activity, in the lack of power led.
My dell Inspiron 14 refuses to power on. When I plug the power adapter to it, the indicator light on the power adapter goes off and wont come back on for some minute. Till this moment my PC of about a year and 4 months wll not poer on neither is it making any attempt. It just remains dead. What do I do?
My laptop turn will not power up, circumstances I shut it down yesterday, packed it up, when I tried turning it on an hour later at school I couldn't get it to turn on.
A. I have checked the power chord it works on my older backup Inspiron17, I two power adaptors the work. the original Dell and an after market rocket fish. both work on my older model Inspiron 17.
B. Without the power chord: open the lid, press the power button, it does not turn on the computer on or light up, none of the indicator lights do not light up.
C. When I plug the power adaptor in to laptop:
1. the power indicator light on the laptop does not light up showing it is plugged in.
2. pressing the press the power button it does not turn light up or turn the computer on, none of indicator lights do not light up.
3. (Original Dell power adaptor) the blue light at the end of the power chord goes out.
4. (Rockfish aftermarket power adaptor) the blue light on the adaptor goes from a solid blue to a blinking blue light.
I have a Inspiron 9300 notebook and when I push the power button the system will show 3 lights (caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock) then shuts off in 2-3 seconds. I did notice the scroll lock stays lit just a little longer.
I have removed all components including battery and running straight from power adaptor (which is good) and still same issue. There are no beep codes for missing memory. I walked through Dell's online process but it did not really indicate what the issue was .....
