I am using inspiron n5110, it shows connected in network and sharing but the net applications are not working,they show as they are not at all connected to internet.

I have tried installing the drivers on the Dell website by entering my specific security tag, but they say they aren't compatible. I have even gone as far as to restore it to factory settings and nothing still.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm trying to set up an ad-hoc connection to share internet between my laptop and another laptop but it will not let me turn my internet connection sharing on, when i go into adapter settings my wireless network connection has a red 'X' next to it and if I run the diagnostics its tells me 'problem with wireless adapter or access point' and I cannot connect to any wireless connections either, i have an internal Dell Wireless 1702 802.11 b/g/n on windows 7 home premium edition, All drivers are up to date and I am using a Del N7110.

I have the drivers and utilities cd and have tried installing all of the drivers on it, some have checkmarks and some dont so i am confused. What do I do if i installed them in the wrong order? My internet is still not working and there is a yellow box with an exclamation point by the following items: ethernet controller, network controller, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller, universal serial bus controller, and unknown device. I had this problem last time the hard drive was replaced and somehow fixed it using this CD but I cant remember how.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had this problem with local internet area disconnecting and reconnecting (one second it shows it is enabled, other ethernet cable is unplugged, and that keeps repeating), which was caused by Ubuntu, I highly suspect.So I updated Bios to A11 and it charmingly fixed everything.
However, problem arose again. I've installed Ubuntu again on dual boot and tried updating Nvidia drivers which did not work well and broke Ubuntu again, which caused this internet problem again on windows 7 somehow (yes, this happened for second time . But this time I can't update Bios, or overwrite it's update).
I did not expect that after bios update this would happen again. I tried downloading various drivers from dell driver support. So, is there a way to overwrite same version of Bios, or (downloading some sort of drivers i might have mist, ect.?)
I have a problem with the USB..Only the one on the left is working. The one on the back and on the right are not working. I've tried to update from the Windows 7 driver manager and it didn't work. I've installed the drivers from the dell website and it didn't work. It is possible that I haven't installed the correct drivers?

A few days ago I opened my laptop for cleaning using service manual and after carefully putting it back together the display wouldn't turn on.
Using external monitor I ran diagnostics and everything was fine. I double checked cables and such but it didn't work.
I bought a Dell N5110 last month but about 2 weeks ago, the USB port to the right side stopped working completely. And just today i noticed the USB port at the back has also stopped working. I now only have the left side port working and fear that may seize to work soon.
When i go to the device manager and click on "Other devices" i have this device in list "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" One of which have a yellow error icon of some sort. When i double click either of them this is the message i get:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) &There is no driver selected for the device information set or element,To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I own an Inspiron N5110, and dunno why, but the wireless stops working after a while. I had this problem in both windows 7 and ubuntu, and why this problem occurs.
And when it stops, it really means STOP, cause it stops detecting networks, when usually there are like a dozen of these around, and no matter what i do, how many times i disable and re enable it, it never seems to work, until i restart my laptop.
In ubuntu, this problem occurs whenever i download large files, and in windows 7, whenever id start any virtual machine.
My Sleep button stopped recently. I installed TuneUp Utilities 2013. will this be a problem? There are three buttons on the top right of the key board. First one is working fine but the remaining two are not functioning. when I press them, button is glowing in white for a couple of seconds and nothing happening.
I generally use my lappy to listen to music and while it plays, I used to put the monitor off to save power. But suddenly it stopped working. Is this a hardware problem or something else? I tried restoring the power options but didn't solve the issue.
And my laptop is taking so much (around 15 minutes) for re-booting. Of course I have installed many programs. I make sure to remove all the un-necessary start up programs. I have a 8 GB RAM. But when compared to other laptops, it is taking really huge time to start!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to reinstall my Dell Inspiron N 5110 (after my wireless connection was disabled (I dont know how) and my efforts to reenable the wireless connection were useless). While I tried to install the drivers, the drivers suitable, as identified by dell software, was for ethernet and none of the wireless/bluetooth drivers where selected as suitable. When I go to the device manager I couldnt see any wireless adapters that need drivers.

If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on other laptops, tablets and mobile. I have Mcafee antivirus, and it could not detect any malware or viruses. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.

I am trying to figure out some issues with my father's new laptop when connecting to the internet. There was a problem with finding wireless networks which was attributed to a problem with the wireless network card driver. I deleted the driver, figuring I would just connect to the wired network only to find that the laptop will not see my lan connection.
I tested the lan connection in my laptop and it worked great.
When I go into the network connections it shows 1 broadband connection that is disconnected through something called a WAN Miniport (PPPOE). I have no idea what this Miniport is, and when I try to connect, it does not connect.
The second connection shown is the Local Area Connection (LAN), and it says the network cable is unplugged.
I have been having this problem for a long time now and a friend pointed me here to beg for some advice. My internet connection works fine for general browsing purposes and i have a good quality of signal strength where i usually use it.
The problem is, every time i run a game such as Football Manager or World of Warcraft my internet connection will be lost. This can happen as soon as 5 minuites after starting the game or can take up to an hour, but without fail it will happen. After this disconnection my wireless adaptor is still shown as being turned on however i am unable to detect any networks in range. The problem is not solved by turning the adaptor on and off and i am forced to restart the system.
I'm not sure what the cause of the problem might be, CPU and memory usage looks normal. I was wondering if perhaps overheating could cause issues like this? My laptop is generally quite warm but with the graphics card coming into play as well... I tested the internet connection whilst connected to world of warcraft but keeping the game minimised and i was not disconnected. I also installed Speedfan to monitor my core temperature and it measures at 55C idle, but after one minuite of switching to and playing the game this rose to around 75C. Not sure if i should include anything else sorry if i overloaded this a little but not very good with computers so wasn't sure what info i should include.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs above I keep losing internet connection on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and often have to turn off to get it back. I have had the laptop for over a year now and have had this problem from day one. Often there are no connections to be seen at all. I can be on a site fine one minuete then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking dissconnect then reconnect will resolve the issue. But most of the time I have to switch off, leave it off for a few mins then reboot. This does not always work so I have to do it again.
As above, I have had this issue from day one. When I got it home there were no connections to be seen. I took it streight back to PC World they switched it on and connections were there. When I got home, switched on others were there but not my own. After switching off and on again mine was there. After that it was okay for a week or so then I started getting the problems I have now. My son sitting about three feet away from me on his lap top has no problems at all so I know it is the laptop and not my router. Also my wifes, my son's and my phone are on the internet through the router when this goes off. Now and then it will be okay for a couple of days but most of the time it goes off several times a day.
I have just purchased an Acer Aspire E5-511, it repeatedly loses internet connection (wifi) despite still showing as being connected. I have read that numerous other people have experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. I have tried updating the driver and changing the battery power settings etc. I have spent ages transferring all my files accross so am reluctant to have to send it back now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP G71-449WM HP notebook. It was all messed up and wouldn't let me restore to an earlier point at all so I reset it to the factory settings. I didn't make a back up because there was nothing I wanted to save. I am unable to connect to the internet now, wirelessly or by hooking up to an ethernet cable. It gets an error while going through the initial set up where you set your password for the pc, the time, etc. when it gets to the spot for connecting to the internet it gets an error, freezes up. I turn it off and turn it back on and it just loads like a normal computer, but can't connect to the internet no matter what. I've reset it to the factory settings about 5 times in the last 3 days and am getting the same problem each time. I have no recovery disks or anything.

Driver: RALINK microsoft driver 3.0.0.41 (up to date when i do a search)
When I remove the ac power external internet is lost. The wireless connection still appears to be up but there is no traffic. I cannot ping anything when this occurs.
The only way to get this up and running again is to
1. insert ac power
2. restart the dhcp client service (sometimes have to do this more than once). The service hasn't stopped, but for some reason this gets it up and running.
I have also tried disabling the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power". But this did not work....
i am having problem with the wireless connection in my laptop. My router is of W-link. my operating system is win 8.1 Enterprise
