Dell :: Ireland10% Price Increase On Small Business Site
Jan 12, 2009
I may be wrong but it looks like dell ireland have increased all the prices in their small business site by 10%! The base prices are the same but upgrading anything is now 10% more expensive.
Just from looking at precision laptops.
Upgrade to 64bit os was 50 euro, now 55 euro.
Component example, yesterday it cost 440 euro to update the graphics card on a m6400 from a FX2700M to a FX3700M, today it costs 490 for the same upgrade
Dell Canada shows the base price of the E4300 has increased from about $1,920 CDN to $2,140 CDN, or just over 10%. That seems very odd to me, given the general economic situation and the number of problems Dell has had with the E4300.
I browsed through both dell.com and dell small business and I was wondering what was the difference? Am I not allowed to order from dell small business if I'm not a business? Also which ones tend to have better deals if their inventory is same/similar?
I was attempting to buy a Dell Vostro 1510 yesterday, but Dell sent me an email saying they have declined my debit card due to incorrect details. Apparently this is something they've done to quite a few people.
It may be due to my having to supply a company name because I was buying through Dell business, and them expecting the company name I gave to be part of my official debit card address, which it is obviously not. I don't have an officially registered business.
In any case they are not being very helpful about it. I updated my details on my account on the website and removed my 'company' name and have asked them to try and redo the payment, but so far getting no response. I'm considering phoning them but I doubt that they will understand what I'm talking about and of course I will have to deal with the tricky aspect of my not really being a business, but ordering through dell business.
I'm concerned that they will ask me to repeat my order now that the special offer on the laptop is expired.
I just sold my m1530 on ebay cause i found this really nice deal for an SXPS13 on ebay which turned out to be a scam , now im low on cash so i was wondering when will there be price drops on the SXPS13 or 16..
And would anyone happen to know when dell is going to release new XPS models...
So I'm all set to buy a Latitude E6500, I'm just trying to save as much money as possible. Depending on whether I go through the small business or home office or whatever section on the Dell website..................
I'm looking at the configurators for the 32bit and 64bit Precision M4400s, and the almost the exact same configuration (difference is 64bit has 4gb ram vs. 2gb) costs about $50 less and comes with a free monitor (not really necessary...but getting rid of it doesn't result in any price drop).
Is this an error on Dell's site, or are they actively pushing 64bit and lowering the price of the system overall intentionally?

I'm looking for a vaio laptop at a reasonable price, rather I would prefer that came from Europe (depends on my qwerty keyboard UK or the U.S.). The main requirements are mainly the ownership of the processor family p9XXX and carbon-fiber casing with a silver color. It would be good if it came from a series of upward and z690 up the Z31.
Dell currently has a coupon code that knocks off the price down by 170$, but not on the canadian site.
Is it possible to purchase the dell from the US site and ship it to canada without having to pay duty fees? Or should I just wait for the deal to show up on the Canadian site.
Well my XPS M1330 finally succumbed to the nvidia gpu flaw. I called Dell on Sunday afternoon (it's now Weds AM) and within 20 minutes with tech support had arranged for on site repair.
Well Monday came and went, no call from the local tech to schedule my repair. Contacted Dell chat support yesterday (Tues) morning and within 10 minutes after checking on my status the rep said I should receive a call by end of business day. The rep then connected me to a supervisor for a quick survey...supervisor asked me some small talk questions and then gave me a # to call direct regarding my in home repair (800-654-1853). So now this morning, no call so I gave the # a jingle...it is some company named "Bangtech"? Gave them my Dell Dispatch # and the lady there told me they haven't received the replacement part yet (new mobo). I explained today is now the 3rd day, she put me on hold, then came back and said they anticipate delivery today and I would receive a call by 5pm today to schedule.
My question is is this normal timing? My Dell dispatch says "NBD". I figured it would be Tues for the repair since I called Sunday afternoon and nothing would probably get shipped/updated until Monday. At this point it's going to be Thursday at the earliest.
Standard English (not bilingual) keyboard, so full-size left Shift and normal Enter key
Arrow keys fully integrated into the keyboard so the bottom 3 arrows don't stick out and none are 1/2 size of regular keysWhite backlights and hinge lights,
which I think represent simplicityFlush screen (plastic cover) that hides the cam light and stuff,
so it seems all integrated and stealthy-lookinI actually like the fact that there is only 1 plate to remove on the bottom of the laptop, makes it seem more organized
I was googling for some info on how to make program windows bigger, but I couldn't find anything else except use magnifier or set font to Larger 150 %.
But i like Medium 125 % font and i just want to make text readable on Skype and Aimp2 1920 x 1080 resolution,
everything else is fine but some program windows are just too small
With Vostro models, from what Ive read they are designed for small businesses. Does this mean I cannot buy it as an individual consumer?Im a student,
and prefer the look and options available in Vostro, and the prices seem more reasonable.
But is this because they are offered to small businesses and you must show evidence of this on purchase? Im also still a little uneasy with purchasing a Dell, so any advice would be great
I have vertical lines on my m1330 but not the same kind that I keep finding in my searches.
My computer doesn't crash, it just has a few lines up and down the screen when I boot and they stay there.
A bit of history, the computer was dropped by the previous owner (one of my coworkers) and the screen was broken so I bought a replacement LCD for it and swapped it out.
Worked great for two weeks until I got the lines. Its still functional, the lines are just annoying and I'm worried about a burn in. I tried taking the screen apart again and checking my connections but the lines are still there
I recently ordered a Dell Studio 1558. Dell claim it has been shipped, and on clicking the Walsh Western link, it gives me the Customer number not found etc dialog. I tried the methods mentioned to input my numbers manually, but it still says not found. What can i do?
my friend doesn't want his 1730, and i do. however, he is a geek, all out. i don't want to trot around my school with a world of warcraft notebook, so i was wondering if there was a place where i could buy a skin that shows off the lighting affect, but hides the "World of Warcraft" logo on the lid.
I have owned a 10-month-old Latitude D830 (w/1680x1050 screen) for about 8 months now. It's a great machine, but I've decided to sell it in favour of something smaller.
Since I bought it, it has had a very small black speck on the screen that does not wipe away when cleaning it. To me it looks like dust behind the LCD surface rather than a dead pixel .....
i have a tz2000. i know people here have installed windows 7 on their TZs, but here's what sony's site officially says about the TZ and win 7:
"The hardware configuration of this model does not meet the minimum system requirements needed to run and provide the full experience of the Windows® 7 operating system. Windows® 7 installation is not recommended and Sony will not be providing Windows® 7 drivers for this model."
so, my question, specifically for TZ owners, is, what is your experience? i had another thread trying to figure out whether to upgrade to 32 or 64 bit. but now, i'm not even sure if I should upgrade. (see my sig for my system specs)
edit: on sony's site, i selected my model...haven't used the autodetect. microsoft's win7 upgrade advisor tells me i can upgrade to 32-bit.
i have problem my video card 7900gs head site damage. 20min work i have 80C, mabye anybody have this head site and could sell to my or recomend how this problem resolve.
I've been looking at the studio 1558 deal on the dell.ca website. The specifications say that the ram is 1333mhz, but on the customization page and review screen it says the ram is 1066mhz.
I'm looking at getting it with the i7 , so the ram speed matters. Which one is correct, the main site or the customization screen?
I have a macbook pro and I've watched flash foward on ABC's website a few weeks ago and now it just says loading but never gets past that,I've tried for a few days and finally used another laptop (PC) and it worked first try,I recently upgraded to Snow Leapard, could there be a security setting that needs to be changed?
So my Dell XPS M1730 finally got shipped this morning! (Yay). The thing is the dell person expedited my order and gave me free next business day delivery.
Since it got shipped today, shouldn't it come tomorrow (Hence the name next business day)? The dell estimated delivery date says the 29th ( Which I won't be home on )
