I'm trying to get the latest video driver from Intel, but I couldn't install it. It gives me a message saying something like the product compatibility is not verified for my system. How do I get the latest driver for my gm965 chipset?
Was having an issue on bios A12 (I think it was) with the brightness (function keys were not adjusting it properly), so updated the bios to A15 and the latest intel drivers as advised. (have intel, not nvidia).
Now the screen on boot is either blank or with only blue lines.
Can hear it booting into windows so the system on the whole seems fine.
Have got it working successfully on an external monitor via the vga port. I have tried to reapply the A15 bios and reinstall the intel drivers but not changed anything. The display properties in windows shows the laptop monitor as stuck on 640x480 and low colours. screen is off on 640x480 and if upped to the only other option 800x600 gives blue lines.
I bought a second hand M1330 on ebay with the intel graphics. I can't seem to get a driver installed no matter which one I use. I've tried both Vista and Windows 7 but in both cases when I'm trying to install the drivers, I get an error message saying
The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
Setup with exit.
I've tried both drivers from the intel site as well as the dell site but no luck. Any ideas?
Round 1 was the GPU and thanks to that ordeal I made my share of posts in the venerable "Vertical Lines on Reboot & Crash & Vertical Lines" thread.
To insure I wouldn't have to go through a mobo swap again, I also did the infamous Cu Mod - which, btw, worked flawlessly and I still support the concept, regardless of which revision nVidia GPU you may have.
So talk about my astonishment when my 1330 just powered off instantly last night while I was doing some 3D work (*and* charging the battery...). At first I thought it was an OS glitch but after noting that I couldn't power the 1330 back on, I realized I was dealing with another issue.
Round 2: Symptom, diagnosis & prognosis:
>1330 will not power on and the external PS's blue LED is not lit.
>Connecting the 1330's PS (adapter) with the 1330 causes the PS to immediately switch off (fail-safe circuit).
This is easy to determine because the infamous blue LED goes out and stays out until you unplug and replug the adapter to the AC outlet (mains). Reconnecting the 1330 with the PS causes the PS to once again switch off. And so on.
>Hence, my second Mobo replacement is on order... sigh.
There's the slight chance that it's only the so-called "charger Board" which is actually connected to the mobo (see my pics - link in my sig. below) but the last time they replaced my mobo, they replaced the charger board along with it.
I'm experiencing some weird flashes, driver stops working and recovered, random distorting dots etc recently. I'm 99% sure its the video card's problem. Luckily the display card can be exchanged. But before going ahead to change it I wanna ensure its video's fault. So I wonder theres any way I can turn off the NVIDIA 8600M GT ,use the intel graphic instead, and see if I still get any of those problems.
I don't seem to find any option in BIOS letting me to do so.
My 7950GTX failed and all replacement cards I've seen on Ebay, from the X1400, 7900GS or better are overpriced.
Since I won't be gaming with my laptop anymore, I was thinking of replacing my motherboard with the one with integrated onboard video, which is more cost effective.
Do you know if it fits, meaning will my current LCD connector fits this motherboard ? Should I expect a bad surprise?
I been having off and on BSOD issue and I was advided to possibly update my video driver via this site to the latest. The problem is that when I try to update it keep telling me that my laptop does not meet the minimum requirement and it would abort the update. However, I dont get why it wouldn't meet minimum requirement and it doesn't note anywhere within readme file what is the minimum requirement to install this latest video driver.
I installed the Intel X25-M SSD in my 1 year old M1330 today, adn installed Visat x64 ultimate on it. Initially i felt some performance increase, but maybe not as much as i had hoped for.
I then ran benchmark test (read) in HD Tune Pro, and averega eonly turned up as being 105 mb/s. I have read several test and reviews of the X25-M and none of them showed those rates.
Almost all of them showed about 210 mb/s (read). My burst rate is 82.5 mb/s, cpu usuage 26.3%.
Could any one perhaps tell me why there is such a big difference in the tests? I should have all the latets drivers and firmware updates.
I went with the integrated video card. I dont play games, but Will i still be able to watch movies or anything like that? Will the video card effect my SSd speed or CPU speed?
I periodically check Dell's site for updated video drivers but they are always sooo old. (Dell's driver-Version 7. something, Intel's-Version 11.something) Intel's site is much more up to date. Anyway, I'll download the Intel drivers and attempt to run the installer. It'll extract all the files but then close and show a message stating that the driver isn't "validated" to run on this computer and that I must get driver updates from my pc maker.
Why are others able to install the drivers, even on other Dell systems? Is it a business notebook thing due to the need for stable system images?
i would like to upgrade my video card, if it is possible and if it is worth it. my 1720 has the mobile intel 965 express chipset family. ive seen sigs (dr650se and someformofhuman) stating that they have the nvidia 8600m gt and was wondering if this is compatible with my 1720.
also i found out through this forum that i can upgrade my cpu (which is the measly t5450 1.66 ghz) to the beastly t9300, and add a 2nd hard drive (which is my first step in upgrading this dell because i only have a 160 gb drive).
i was looking for a new laptop until i came across this forum and found out the possibilities of my dell. i decided to stick with this and just upgrade it! thanks for the insight, and thanks in advance for all the help that i will be asking for!
I had my LED(Toshiba) and motherboard (nvidia 8400) replaced on my xpsm1330. Now, when I watch videos if I'm not sitting directly in front of the screen the picture looks washed out.
If I move to the left of the right I can't make out the image. The replacement screen is a toshiba also.....
If there a way to install official Intel video drivers on an HP DV5-1000us? A friends friend has one and I tried extracting the files from the .exe then updating the drivers thru the device manager but it won't take the drivers prob due to a hardware id # hp had changed to prevent people from installing all but thier own "optimized" ( my ) drivers.
And this DV5 is the one with the GMA X4500 video adapter in case anyones wondering.
Recently I've been having trouble with my M1330's GPU overheating. It's been idling at 70-85C and can sometimes get past 100C when under load.
Since I'm going to be in Japan for the next few months, it doesn't seem like there's a simple way for me to send my laptop in to get a new GPU or motherboard, if that's the issue.
So I've been trying various things to try to reduce the temperature. I bought an aluminum laptop cooler with 3 fairly large fans on it, but it hasn't had any significant effect.
I also downloaded the latest BIOS, since I heard that the newer ones increase the fan speed.
I've been encoding a lot of my DVDs to h264 using Handbrake for traveling, and I have my 1410 set up to do DXVA h264 decoding with Media Player Classic HC (on Windows 7 Pro RTM x64). I used this guide to set up DXVA: [url]
The DXVA offloading works well, and I get around 5-10% CPU usage on Task Manager. My issue is that the video quality looks poor compared with using Windows Media Player 12. H264 MKVs look great on WMP, but sometimes they stutter a little, CPU usage is around 10-20%, so I know it's doing some kind of DXVA of its own.
After reading this thread, I figured out my problem somewhat: Is there anyone that can play this H264 clip on Timeline SU3500 without 100% CPU load?
What I wanted to know is this: has there been any development in fixing the h264 deblocking bug with MPC-HC and DXVA? I'd like to use MPC-HC for my MKV viewing, because that plays video the smoothest, and it handles the audio and subtitles of several anime series that I have.
Just some background on my setup: I'm using a 1410 with the dual-core SU2300, Windows 7 Pro x64, latest version of MPC-HC, latest version of Haali Splitter, latest Intel 4 Series drivers (version 1986), and the ffdshow x64 audio-only filters. I'm also using the Divx 7 Tech Preview for thumbnails and improved performance on WMP.
My XPS M1330 is about a year old, I run windows XP, and I use the copper mod since it used to overheat when playing games. It's been perfectly fine for the last few months though.
Recently, sometimes when I try to play a video file or open specific programs (so far, photoshop and certain games) the screen turns bizarre colors and then quickly crashes .....
Will the M1330 HDMI output 1080p video and 5.1 audio at the same time? I can't seem to find the answer to this. I'm planning on getting a Plasma TV with a DVD 5.1 Audio system.
I've had good results from installing the Intel matrix storage driver v8.5 direct from Intel (newer than the Dell version) but tonight I tried the even newer v8.6 version from Intel and have had two blue screens, so having to revert.
I know a few people have installed Win7 on their Lattitudes and Precisions ...
I decided to try out a clean install but as I work through the driver installs I get stuck at the chipset drivers which refuse to install, saying "This operating system is not supported .....
I followed a couple threads on here on how to format and reload everything from scratch. It has worked perfectly and I'm much more happier without the Dell bloatware. That said, the only issue (not sure if it's really an issue) that I'm having is with the WiMAX 6250 driver. I downloaded the latest drivers from here:
They aren't even listed on Dell's website (not that I would use Dell's over Intels anyway).
The wifi and everything seems to be working fine. However, when I look under device manager, it's the only one that has an "!" on it. It says that the driver isn't loaded.
Again, I don't know this is really a problem since it's working, but I just wanted to make sure this won't hurt me down the road or if anyone else knows how to fix it.
I just made a purchase of a 1410 for about $340 with an Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 and 2GB ram. I plan to do a clean of install Windows 7 32-bit once I receive the laptop.
However one thing concerns me, how does the laptop fare with online Flash video streaming? I'm thinking it will do fine with 360p and 480p streaming, but is it able to run 720p or even 1080p smoothly?
Also, is this model able to multi-task somewhat? I'm not looking for anything extreme, but I'm wondering more about running multiple tabs in a browser or running Office apps with internet surfing, etc.
If not playable out of the box, are there tweaks to get HD flash playback smooth? I've heard of the new Adobe Flash 10.1 helping out with performance somewhat, but I'm wondering if it's a long wait before a cheap (sub-$400) netbook/sub-notebook can stream HD flash well that isn't an ION with Atom.
I've heard great reviews on the 1410 and like the purchase, but was just curious about some of the performance situations stated above.
i have windows 7 32-bit ultimate installed on my XPS M1330, and i discovered trouble on having the right bluetooth driver, i already check the driver using windows update, some of bluetooth driver from dell.com (exactly R226750, R159805, R140135) and none of them are solve my trouble, here some of the screenshot
seeing that Dell released a driver supporting 6300, I went and bought one to replace my 5100. Plugged it in, and it wasn't recognized. Fair enough, I went to reinstall the driver.. which immediately finished. Setup log said error discovering intel device, or something like that.
Problem is, the device is working fine as far as windows is concerned - it is detected, I can connect using windows networks screen. But ControlPoint Connection manager does not see it.
