One of my mates has a dead M1330. I told him about the "oven" trick but his wife might hurt the both of us. It is however possible to replace the motherboard with the integrated X3100 motherboard correct?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a second hand M1330 on ebay with the intel graphics. I can't seem to get a driver installed no matter which one I use. I've tried both Vista and Windows 7 but in both cases when I'm trying to install the drivers, I get an error message saying
The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
Setup with exit.
I've tried both drivers from the intel site as well as the dell site but no luck. Any ideas?
I just ordered a new Dell XPS M1330 with the Intel X3100 chipset and then I saw this:

My question: Does it matter what graphics chipset I have? Can I run 2 external monitors with the Intel chipset? If so, that would be very cool!
I have just recently purchased an HP 17-e049wm. This laptop has the AMD Radeon HD8650G integrated graphics with up to 4206MB of total memory. I understand that this graphics "card" uses the onboard memory to act as video memory. How can I increase or decrease the amount of memory allocated to the graphics? I don't seem to be able to make any changes from the BIOS. Is this something that adjusts automatically?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI had my LED(Toshiba) and motherboard (nvidia 8400) replaced on my xpsm1330. Now, when I watch videos if I'm not sitting directly in front of the screen the picture looks washed out.
If I move to the left of the right I can't make out the image. The replacement screen is a toshiba also.....
Recently I've been having trouble with my M1330's GPU overheating. It's been idling at 70-85C and can sometimes get past 100C when under load.
Since I'm going to be in Japan for the next few months, it doesn't seem like there's a simple way for me to send my laptop in to get a new GPU or motherboard, if that's the issue.
So I've been trying various things to try to reduce the temperature. I bought an aluminum laptop cooler with 3 fairly large fans on it, but it hasn't had any significant effect.
I also downloaded the latest BIOS, since I heard that the newer ones increase the fan speed.
I own an acer aspire 3104 wlmi from 3100 series. It has a Sempron mobile CPU and i'd like to change to a Turion X2. I bought a Turion X2 TL-52 and tried to upgrade it.
With the last bios the Turion is recognized by the motherboard and the very first time started well on win xp pro. But just when windows installed "ACPI Multiprocessor driver" then it didn't reboot nevermore. With a system test software i tested the cpu. This software tested cpu1 and cpu2, but it failed only the "processor control cpu2 test".
Now i understand that maybe the motherboard doesn't have the multiprocessor support or it doesn't have it enabled. I looked for a jumper but nothing...
Also the service manual shows in the cpu compatibility list the Turion TL-52
Surely if i reinstall the sempron cpu, notebook works flawless
I am trying to activate the infrared sensor, but there is no "advanced" tab in the BIOS.
Is there a trick to getting to this tab, or getting it to appear? I have tried pressing the "m" key instead of F2 when the POST screen is on, but nothing happens; it just goes on to boot the OS.
Was having an issue on bios A12 (I think it was) with the brightness (function keys were not adjusting it properly), so updated the bios to A15 and the latest intel drivers as advised. (have intel, not nvidia).
Now the screen on boot is either blank or with only blue lines.
Can hear it booting into windows so the system on the whole seems fine.
Have got it working successfully on an external monitor via the vga port. I have tried to reapply the A15 bios and reinstall the intel drivers but not changed anything. The display properties in windows shows the laptop monitor as stuck on 640x480 and low colours. screen is off on 640x480 and if upped to the only other option 800x600 gives blue lines.
My XPS M1330 is about a year old, I run windows XP, and I use the copper mod since it used to overheat when playing games. It's been perfectly fine for the last few months though.
Recently, sometimes when I try to play a video file or open specific programs (so far, photoshop and certain games) the screen turns bizarre colors and then quickly crashes .....
Will the M1330 HDMI output 1080p video and 5.1 audio at the same time? I can't seem to find the answer to this. I'm planning on getting a Plasma TV with a DVD 5.1 Audio system.

Â
Oddly, the problem child's Intel driver is 8.17.0010.0029, and the AMD driver is 8.741.1.1000, dated 6/22/2010.
Â
But the problem-free laptop has Intel driver 8.17.0010.1043, and AMD driver 8.771.1.0, dated 9/8/2010.
Â
Huh? The only difference between the two is the "bad" laptop has a i7-720QM ICU whereas the "good" laptop has the slightly more powerful i7-740QM. So why the different drivers?
HP Mini 110-3100. When power up, get the HP logo and then a blank screen with curser flashing upper left hand corner.
Ran diagnostics --- everything passed.
Cannot get into System Recovery
Cannot get into Safe Mode
I do get into the Setup Utility but  nothing there that fixes the problem.
I do get into System information, but again, nothing there to fix this start up problem.
Â
Estimates at local shops to fix start at minimum $110 - obviously could be higher
However, Amazon selling HP Mini 110-1030NR for $110
Â
Questions:
1. Â How I can recover to operate the HP MIni 110-3100 I have?
2. Â What are the differences in 110-3100 versus the 110-1030NRÂ
3. Â If I decide to buy the -1030NR instead of having the -3100 repaired, what I am giving up and ALSO, what does the NR stand for?
i know theres a clear difference, but does the 9400 clearly blow the x3100 out the water? also; i heard the white macbook was being discontinued. why do the new whitebooks not have a 2.4 processor. How much difference is 2.0/2.1ghz vs a 2.4? Why isn't there a 2.4 + 9400m option? is it a heating issue?
View 7 Replies View RelatedPurolator left me a message saying my Dell laptop will arrive tomorrow morning. Ordered the Inspiron 13 on Sep 10th. Would I be able to run Counter Strike Source on high with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100? I was able to run Fallout 3 on medium with GeForce 9500M GS. How does Intel X3100 compare to NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS?
I don't play any computer games. Had Fallout 3 for PC when my Xbox 360 broke again. I'm not going to play any games with this new Inspiron 13, but still just wondering. I have a 16" Acer right now, I wanted a smaller laptop to carry around and faster CPU. I hope the T8300 does its job.
I have an Acer 5720Z with GMA X3100. The BIOS is very basic and there is no way to change the RAM size from there. So I would like to know if there are other ways to change the video RAM size from the default 8mb to the maximum 358mb
View 4 Replies View RelatedIm running Vista 32 on a 6710b and I want to install the latest X3100 driver from the Intel site, but it tells me the driver is not made for my laptop and to get the driver from the manufacture of the laptop. Ive seen this come up with a google search, but in every instance, there is no solution. Is there a way to install the latest drivers from Intel, or do I have to wait for HP to make them available on their site?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got an Aspire 5315 laptop and have been slowly getting it set up to run XP instead of Vista. However, the one problem I am having at the moment is with the Intel X3100 Graphics Accelerator. I have looked all over the internet and can't seem to find any info on how I can define the memory that is allocated to the card, it's all well and good the card using dynamic memory allocation but it's not allocating enough memory. I want to have a fixed 128MB dedicated to the graphics but I can't see any way of doing this either via the Intel software or the BIOS.
I thought I ought to be able to assign a minimum memory amount via the BIOS but graphics memory is locked on my BIOS setting. Would flashing to a later BIOS fix this?
I just bought an Acer-Notebook with the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator x3100.
I did not buy the notebook for playing games, but sometimes I just want to play. First it is all fine with World of Warcraft. Low FPS at all, but everything normal.
But when I am trying to run Warcraft with the notebook I get bluescreens. I know this have been discussed several times yet, but I can't get it running with the given hints.
First I did:
-opengl on shortcut (Bluescreen)
-swtnl on shortcut (Bluescreen)
Then I tried several drivers to run. The latest and some older drivers from the official Intel page.
Another hint is to install drivers of the version 14.33 or older. But I can't find anything like this. The links posted in some posts i found here didnt work and in the archieves of the Intel page are just newer drivers.
First off, just want to say I have just found this forum and it's been so useful.
Well I'm hoping that someone can help me with a question, I'm looking to buy a Dell either a Inspiron 1525 or Dell XPS 1330, my options are getting a really high spec 1525 or a base spec XPS 1330.
But the one thing that I really need to know is whether I will be able to watch MKV and HD content on the Integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator X3100 graphics card, because if I can't, I can rule out the Inspiron 1525.
I recently upgraded to windows 8, and my laptop worked smoothly, and then randomly after maybe a week of use my webcam is no longer recognized.
I can't find it in device manager to update the driver or pretty much anything! the microphone still works perfectly, but its as if my camera ceased to exist, as if it were not at all connected to my laptop. I tried finding the driver online, but only managed to find the driver for the xps 17z, which I thought would work, but it wouldn't install as it gave me the message, you must have Windows XP SP2 or higher installed.
Sure it sounds ridiculous, but from the pics of the reader online, it looks as if its practically dropped in in place of the right speaker panel.
What complications are there in doing something like this?
I'll be buying an XPS M1330 soon. The only option I'm still confused on is the graphics card. I'm not a gamer and battery life is important to me as I'm on the road every week for work. However, with Vista now - which I have no experience with - is it true that you need a discrete graphics card to efficiently run Vista (and I guess certain options such as Aero).
Specifically, my questions are:
1. Will an integrated graphics card impair the ability to use Vista in any way and, if so, how?
2. What's the difference in battery life when using a dedicated vs integrated graphics card? I.e., how much extra battery life will I gain by choosing integrated?
3. Will an integrated graphics card cause my system to just not operate as efficiently in general - just every day navigating even - since Vista relies so heavily on graphics? And, if so, how does any inefficiency manifest itself? Slower time bringing up screens? Computer running hot because of a strain using graphics?
I recently did a hard drive format to install Windows 7 64-bit and since then the integrated array mic on my M1530 has not worked. I am not sure but I believe the integrated mic is run by the sound driver.
I have tried to update my sound driver from the standard Microsoft High Definition Audio one to the Sigma Tel on the Dell drivers website but when I but when I try to install it says "Object not present please restart system and try again."
I have tried this countless times now and have tried uninstalling the MS driver before installing the new one but after restarting Windows automatically re-installs the High Definition Audio.
I have a Dell Latitude E4300 laptop that came without an integrated camera.
I am thinking of adding a camera to this laptop by ordering:
a) A new LCD Front Bezel and rear LCD cover
b) a Dell camera
I would love your advice on the following questions:
1) Is this possible?
2) Do all E4300s have a slot for adding a webcam on the mother board?
3) Will I need to update the BIOS or anything else to enable it?
