I recently did a hard drive format to install Windows 7 64-bit and since then the integrated array mic on my M1530 has not worked. I am not sure but I believe the integrated mic is run by the sound driver.
I have tried to update my sound driver from the standard Microsoft High Definition Audio one to the Sigma Tel on the Dell drivers website but when I but when I try to install it says "Object not present please restart system and try again."
I have tried this countless times now and have tried uninstalling the MS driver before installing the new one but after restarting Windows automatically re-installs the High Definition Audio.
I can't seem to get my headset to work with the M1530. I believe that I changed the settings for the sound inputs etc to get the headset to work with EVE, but now I'm trying to get it to work with CounterStrike Source. But I can get anything. I'm plugging it into the front mic port as it's a non-USB headset. I know the headset works as I've tested it on my PC. I'm pretty sure that it's simply a settings issue and that the port itself is fine.
I've tried reinstalling the sigmatel software but it didn't help.
I have reinstalled my original Vista Home Premium 32bit using the recovery partition. All is well, except I can't make the webcam recognizable to the system. Therefore, I can't use my Skype video call function. When I had the factory installed OS, Skype video call worked perfectly.  I have been all over the Internet trying to find software - YouCam, Quickplay, SP37849, SP46565, SP38361 and SP 45866 - all to no avail. None of the software would install, except Quickplay (SP38361).  In the Device Manager, under Imaging Devices, there is no webcam driver listed, only my HP 6700 All-in-One printer/scanner. Is there a possibility that only one imaging device can be installed at one time?
I am installing Windows XP on my Compaq Presario R3200 (servicetag R3484EA). My problem is that I cannot find the driver for the Bluetooth device.
According to device control it concerns the HP integrated Bluetooth module. Under details the following information is displayed:Â Â USBVID_03F0&PID_011D-010C65A2BF4.
Dell XPS M1530 is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. The only thing that I can't get to work is the Bluetooth.
Before (with Windows Vista), I was able to connect my Dell 968w printer and Blackberry Tour to my laptop via Bluetooth with no problem.
Now when I try to print with my printer or send files to my Blackberry via Bluetooth,
it doesn't work. I've looked everywhere but I can't find the right fix. I'm guessing that maybe I need to update my Bluetooth driver, but I can't seem to find the right driver for Windows 7 32-bit
I'm thinking of updating the graphics driver on my M1530 from Dell's 176.44 version to the latest 185.20 version from Laptopvideo2go.
Wanted to ask a few questions before doing so, mainly: Are there any problems when "waking up" from sleep with these drivers?Anyone got any benchmarks or comments on performance for these drivers? Mainly play COD4, Fallout3, Farcry 2...Notice any difference in temps.? Anyone who has installed them i would appreciate your comments!
Should mention I'm running Vista SP1, 4GB RAM, T7250 and i usually overclock my card to 610/902.
I've just bought a DELL XPS M1530 and I'm so worried about the error of Geforce 8600GT Video Card that DELL and nVIDIA has reported!
So would you mind giving me a suggest of updating new driver for my video card? If in case I should update my graphic card, please share me the lastest driver for my Geforce 8600GT.
So I am trying to find the AHCI driver for my m1530 but I dont see it under drivers for my service tag, does this mean I dont need it? In my BIOS I have that as an option though!
First off, just want to say I have just found this forum and it's been so useful.
Well I'm hoping that someone can help me with a question, I'm looking to buy a Dell either a Inspiron 1525 or Dell XPS 1330, my options are getting a really high spec 1525 or a base spec XPS 1330.
But the one thing that I really need to know is whether I will be able to watch MKV and HD content on the Integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator X3100 graphics card, because if I can't, I can rule out the Inspiron 1525.
I recently upgraded to windows 8, and my laptop worked smoothly, and then randomly after maybe a week of use my webcam is no longer recognized.
I can't find it in device manager to update the driver or pretty much anything! the microphone still works perfectly, but its as if my camera ceased to exist, as if it were not at all connected to my laptop. I tried finding the driver online, but only managed to find the driver for the xps 17z, which I thought would work, but it wouldn't install as it gave me the message, you must have Windows XP SP2 or higher installed.
I'll be buying an XPS M1330 soon. The only option I'm still confused on is the graphics card. I'm not a gamer and battery life is important to me as I'm on the road every week for work. However, with Vista now - which I have no experience with - is it true that you need a discrete graphics card to efficiently run Vista (and I guess certain options such as Aero).
Specifically, my questions are:
1. Will an integrated graphics card impair the ability to use Vista in any way and, if so, how?
2. What's the difference in battery life when using a dedicated vs integrated graphics card? I.e., how much extra battery life will I gain by choosing integrated?
3. Will an integrated graphics card cause my system to just not operate as efficiently in general - just every day navigating even - since Vista relies so heavily on graphics? And, if so, how does any inefficiency manifest itself? Slower time bringing up screens? Computer running hot because of a strain using graphics?
I have a Dell Latitude E4300 laptop that came without an integrated camera.
I am thinking of adding a camera to this laptop by ordering:
a) A new LCD Front Bezel and rear LCD cover b) a Dell camera
I would love your advice on the following questions:
1) Is this possible? 2) Do all E4300s have a slot for adding a webcam on the mother board? 3) Will I need to update the BIOS or anything else to enable it?
I can't find anything allowing me to turn it back on anywhere. It's as if Vista doesn't detect it even being plugged in. Where should I start looking for an option to turn it back on or reinstall it? I have looked and looked and can't figure this out
I have an XPS m1530 with the built-in webcam along the top of the screen. When running XP Pro on this laptop I can see a USB device called "Laptop Integrated Webcam" in Windows Explorer, and when I click on that device the camera instantly comes up on my screen
