View 10 RepliesWas using Google Earth Pro and the screen blanked out for a second before being restored. The error was as below
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
The references to this error seem to infer that the GPU is close to death, and the error will get progressively worse. Anyone else had this error and survived? I've had the laptop less than 4 weeks.
I'm really not keen on getting the laptop replaced and possibly ending up with a poorer display i.e. more screen bleed.
dell is no longer offering the Nvidia 8600m gt, they only offering only the 8400 in this system,
is this just coincidence? they gonna finaly take out the m1530 and m1330 systems? and if we, happy customers of the m1530, get in some trouble with this graphics card, they probably gonna replace with a Studio XPS 16? of similar specs? cause they wont have 8600m for replacement
i dont know about u but i dont like te studio xps 16, first bigger, heavier, and not as stylish as the .
Is the 8600M GT good enough for games such as Battlefield 2? I read a 4,000 plus benchmark somehwere...but others were mid 3000s on 3Dmark06...That's not much, but I think it's faster than my X800 XT is in the XPs desktop which plays BF2 fine.
I'm going to be going with a new gaming desktop within a year or so, but I still want the laptop to be able to handle BF2!
Anyone own the 1530 yet? Found good reviews?
Currently my M1530 has the nvidia 8400M GS chip in it. I'm thinking about swapping the motherboard out for one with an 8600M chip on it.
My question is, will it make much of a difference? How much greater is the 8600M w/ 256mb versus the 8400M w/ 128mb that is currently in my machine? Look forward to your responses.
I'm trying to figure out something: Is my GPU heating a little too much when I play World of Warcraft?
GPU Temperature in WoW: ±72°C
Driver: 175.97 (recommended by a lot of users here)
What temperatures are you guys getting in WoW?
So, doing some research it seems that the Matrox dual or triple head2go is the pricey solution to running more than 2 external monitors. Are there other solutions to running 2 or more external monitors without shutting down the laptop screen?
I was thinking hdmi to one screen then 2 usb to dvi to the two other screens, but don't know if this will shut off the screen on my laptop.
cannot find one for the life of me, on dells webpage they only have a 8400 or 8400 gs?
yea thats nice, anyone doing any overclocking on vista? what driver are you using if so?

while the previous release said it was a driver? I mean whats the actual difference? And any idea why they haven't released this new graphics controller for the other models with the same graphics card? This one is apparently for the "Inspiron 1318"...
I just installed the 185.20 beta driver (which supports the 8600m gt ddr3 without the need for a custom inf), I didnt have any crashing or glitching, and I will let the pic do the talking
this is the first stable 18X.XX driver I tried, and its weird that the 8600m gt doesn't need a modded inf lol
download the driver from LV2Go but dont download any modded infs because you dont need them
When i changed to 185.85 i noticed that the temperature of my video card lowered. Now im moving to 186.81. Do you think its a good decision, or know a better driver?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFair enough my hdd is only 5200rpm not 7k+ but 4gb ram and 2.4 intel core duo my FPS in WOW can drop to like 5 and thats with lowest gfx settings.
Beaware WOW has developed and a new add-on came out last year with better graphics...
I don't know what to do I love the portability of M1530 but the GFX side of things seems . I know its only a mid ranged gaming/performance laptop but its a shame you cannot upgrade it...
Anyone know any alterative laptops with like double gfx performance with same portability
i'm using 176.44 (driver date: 9/3/2008) from Dell.
anybody have good experience with NVDIA driver from laptopvideo2go or NVIDIA website?
I have an M1530 that has the 8600M video adapter in it.
Currently I am using the Dell 176.44 driver and I am wondering if that is best. I notice from time to time that my desktop display gets very slow where the window tracking is not smooth like normal.
I don't play games on this laptop, as it is purely for business use, but I do use programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, GIMP.. and other design applications.
I'm looking for a stable driver for use with Windows Vista SP1 64-bit on a Dell XPS M1530 with 4 GB of RAM and a GeForce 8600M GT 256MB GDDR3. I tried 174.34 but it was unstable and caused some issues.
I require that it uses WHQL no modified INFs, games that I am playing are CoD4, UT3, NFS Most Wanted, and Company of Heroes.
what is the best driver for the 8600M GT?

View 10 Replies View RelatedDell XPS M1530 is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. The only thing that I can't get to work is the Bluetooth.
Before (with Windows Vista), I was able to connect my Dell 968w printer and Blackberry Tour to my laptop via Bluetooth with no problem.
Now when I try to print with my printer or send files to my Blackberry via Bluetooth,
it doesn't work. I've looked everywhere but I can't find the right fix. I'm guessing that maybe I need to update my Bluetooth driver, but I can't seem to find the right driver for Windows 7 32-bit
I'm thinking of updating the graphics driver on my M1530 from Dell's 176.44 version to the latest 185.20 version from Laptopvideo2go.
Wanted to ask a few questions before doing so, mainly:
Are there any problems when "waking up" from sleep with these drivers?Anyone got any benchmarks or comments on performance for these drivers? Mainly play COD4, Fallout3, Farcry 2...Notice any difference in temps.?
Anyone who has installed them i would appreciate your comments!
Should mention I'm running Vista SP1, 4GB RAM, T7250 and i usually overclock my card to 610/902.
I've just bought a DELL XPS M1530 and I'm so worried about the error of Geforce 8600GT Video Card that DELL and nVIDIA has reported!
So would you mind giving me a suggest of updating new driver for my video card? If in case I should update my graphic card, please share me the lastest driver for my Geforce 8600GT.
I recently did a hard drive format to install Windows 7 64-bit and since then the integrated array mic on my M1530 has not worked. I am not sure but I believe the integrated mic is run by the sound driver.
I have tried to update my sound driver from the standard Microsoft High Definition Audio one to the Sigma Tel on the Dell drivers website but when I but when I try to install it says "Object not present please restart system and try again."
I have tried this countless times now and have tried uninstalling the MS driver before installing the new one but after restarting Windows automatically re-installs the High Definition Audio.
What do you recommend me? I read somewhere that i should get the realtek hd drivers

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I upgraded to windows 7 and everything works fine but when I am in a fullscreen game (CoD 4 or WoW) I have no sound through the speakers.
Using the HDMI for sound works, but as this is never really an option, this will not do.

Have you ever noticed that HD 3450 on Studio 1537 works much better than 8600M GT DDR2 on Vostro 1500?
It plays AVCHD Blu-Ray m2ts smoother and performs Vista Aero great even in power saver mode w/ battery..
Which is the better graphics card the 8600m gt on the m1530 or the new ati 4670 on the xps 16?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIt's been a long time since i've posted on this forum, but i was wondering wether or not a 6800 go is better than the 8600m gt? The reason for this is that my 9300 seems to be on its last legs (after three keyboard replacements, two motherboard replacements, a 3d card replacement, and various other little problems) and i was wondering if they replace my 9300 with a 1720, would i be satisfied? (im already worried about it not having a DVI port as i regularly connect my 9300 to my 20' monitor).
