Has anyone been able to get their Ethernet Controller to work on the Studio 17? I have the wireless working, but the Ethernet Controller will not load any drivers, automatic or manual. I have searched Intel's site and downloaded every 64 bit driver from Dell's Studio 17 download page.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had to format the wife's old Dell Inspiron 5100 and reinstall XP. I did not have the install CD that has all the drivers so I went to the dell website and downloaded all that I needed.
I got everything installed but the hardware manager says I have an "ethernet controller" that does not have a driver. It has a Broadcom network card in it and it says the driver is loaded properly and that the device is functioning correctly .....
XP has the controller flag in device manager (red) When I try to install the drivers I get setup.rul 380 error..is it a bad card?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a hp mini 210-2145. It had windows 7 home edition 32bit on it but I formatted it and put windows 7 professional 64 bit on. I cant get the wifi to work. I finally got the regular plug in to work but still no wifi. I have went to the driver site and installed both chip sets. and downloaded a bunch of the internet drivers listed on the network drivers list. After installing a bunch of them i noticed the system scan. It detected that i had a 802.11b/g/n WLAN. Thats the irst one on the site so i redownloaded and instaled it and it still isnt working. In the device manager it shows the yellow exclamation and just says ethernet controller.

I also tried to look on the dell website but unable to find proper driver
Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one.
Device manager just calls it "other device" Acer Aspire 9301awsmi.
I want to stop using my wireless connection on my laptop and plug an ethernet lead in.
But when I plug this lead in my laptop just stays connected to to my wireless network. I tried disabling the Wireless on my computer then putting the lead in but still it wont attempt to connect to the internet with the ethernet lead in. What driver do I need to download so it will recognize the lead is in the laptop and attempt to connect to the internet?

When I install the newest driver (here) for my Realtek Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC port, my download speed (from speedtest.net) drops from 20-25,000 Mbs to 5,000 Mbs
The newest driver is 7.4.713.2009... The one which installed when I loaded up the HP / Windows 7 discs was version 7.2.1127.2008, so when I saw my speed drop so much I rolled back to this driver... So what am I missing here? Why is the newer driver causing the speed to drop so much?
i have a HP 255 G2 Notebook PC that i bought last year. The pc came with windows 8 installed so when i tried to install windows 7 64 bit i noticed the hard drive was GPG encrypted so i had to open the laptop and take out the hdd to reformat it with another computer. That went well. I installed windows 7 but i noticed the ony driver that wont work is the Network Controller driver. I have internet in the computer through a flash usb but now i need to use my wireless internet instead. So i downloaded every driver from my laptop but it wont work so i wonder if the network card is broken. In every network card i've seen on laptops there are to cables connecting the card to the motherboard. One white cable and on black cable but this laptop has only a black cable.

I have a new Compaq CQ58-353EM laptop. It came with preinstalled system (Windows 8). Afterwards I installed Windows and HP updates.
The problem I have is with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (ethernet). In the device manager it is shown with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. In the device state it is stated: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
Laptop has all system and hp updates installed.
I tried the following to resolve the problem:
- 2 different bios versions (F.26 and F.25).
- several add/remove/reinstall of the Realtek drivers
- 2 different versions of Realtek drivers: 8.3.730.2012 and 8.20.815.2013 (from Realtek site).
Ethernet is working OK under Ubuntu.
The only thing Im missing to downgrade vista to xp is the sata controller I cant find it anywhere for the Extensa 4630Z.
I found Slipstream drivers but it was for downgrading a acer aspire laptop and they didnt work.
I checked intel's site for sata controller drivers they arent there.
When tried slipstream drivers I found filename called " iaahci.inf " I used nlite to intergrate them on cd im still getting a blue screen so they arent compatible.
Why doesnt acer's support site have these sata drivers?
My wireless is not working yet. I'm assuming its because Network Controller is not installed yet. How to install the Network Contoller driver for Inspiron 1525?
1) new hard drive installed
2) installed OS from Factory CD
3) I have followed the proper sequence for driver installation
4) I tried drivers using my Service Tag and not using service tag (it installed Ethernet but not the Network Controller)
5) i don't see any manufacturer info or model information in the sysinfo or Control Panel properties
Only way to possibly identify the wireless card is from the card itself and that isn't mush work either:

View 4 Replies View Relatedi recently installed WinXP on my Acer 5930G (went from vista). i managed to find all the drivers (including the ICH9M SATA ACHI-mode driver) except one called the SM Bus Controller which is showing up in device manager with a little yellow ! symbol. Does anyone know where I can find this driver? the Intel website and their chipset identifier tool seems to be quite useless. The chipset identifier can't identify anything except the I/O controller (82801MB ICH9M SATA AHCI-mode) which was installed from the '32-bit floppy configuration files'

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1220sa notebook which has A8 AMD and running windows 7 64 bit.
I had to reinstall windows manually as trying to make the machine a dual boot with the win7 and ubuntu resulted in me messing the partitions up. I have managed to do so and been installing/updating all the drivers. But in the device manager, the SM Bus Controller still has a yellow excamation mark next to it.
I have a Dell XPS PP09L laptop and Windows XP needs a driver for the built-in network controller and when I do a search for it on the dell website nothing comes up. I even googled it and the links that came up led me to a no results page on Dell. What is the model of the network controller that's in this model and where I can get a driver for it?
