i was hoping to try to get XP on my dell studio 17. I've tried to install XP before but it wouldnt work because of SATA drivers and such. If anyone has done this before, can you help me find some drivers for my Hitachi hts543232l9a300 hard drive.
View 4 Replies View RelatedDid anybody manage to get the latest official Catalyst package from the ATI website installed on their machine? When I tried it wouldn't want to install the drivers, only the utilities.
I had to use the one supplied by Dell, which is fine, but I was wondering if there were a way to use the official ones.
where i could get a hold of the Studio 1537 XP Drivers, ive seen 1535 drivers but i dont know if these will work or not,
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter installing some core drivers, I still could not see the Dell symbol and the Studio XPS 1640 series in My Compyter/ Properties.
Moreover, the eject button of my DVD slotload doesn't know anymore, even if I have check I downloaded the lastest driver of it. (but I can eject by right click in the DVD driver in My Computer and my laptop still reads CD/DVD as usual)
In addition, after install ATI 3670 drivers, I do not see the ajustment for my graphic card anymore.
Any one knows which drivers and software I should install to get my Dell as a new Factory Image Dell Studio XPS 1640 with Windows 7 64 bit, please let me know.
Here are the details of my laptop:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz)

The Dell Driver Downloads page for Studio 1555 still doesn't have Windows 7 32 Bit listed. I tried editing the url for Windows 7 64 bit by replacing W764 with W732 and it seems that is the appropriate page.
Its still a work in progress and doesn't have some of the drivers (webcam being the significant one). Following is the link:

I will be installing Windows 7x64 this week on my laptop. Dell seems to not have much drivers or info for it on the support page....
Anyone know if I'm going to have trouble with the following:
Bluetooth
Creative X-Fi MB
My Wifi for the 5300
Dell Webcam Central
Dell Support Center
Fast Access
I'm hoping we have the same level of power setting options like we do in Vista...
Can anyone direct me to a place i'm able to obtain windows xp 32 bit drivers for my xps studio 1640? Currently i'm running vista 64bit, but due to a few problems i want to go back to XP 32 bit.
I've looked on dell's website and it seems they only provide vista and windows 7 drivers now. Since XP is still commonly used surly i can get the drivers from some where?
These drivers are intended for the Studio 1745. The intended use is for a fresh installation of XP_Pro_SP3 32bit. All files are Zipped, and safe. (But always scan any files you download with a good Virus Scan program such as BitDefender, Kaspersky, and Norton)
The links should allow you to just download them without any aggravation. If you notice anything wrong with links or files, please let me know. I don't mind correcting mistakes. After all, that's when you learn.
These files and links could be updated, and replaced accordingly to updates I come across. When reinstalling XP, I recommend installing the below drivers & software in the order of the listing....
New owner of a Dell Studio 1735 that came loaded with ( of course) WIndows Vista. I was told by the rep at Dell that sold it to me " oh yeah, you can get the XP drivers for it".....yeah right!!
I was able to create a slipstream Windows XP install CD that loads SP2 files and the SATA HDD drivers to avoid the BSOD that I got initially in trying to load XP..so far so good I thought.
Ran Vistaboot to dual boot but that corrupts the NTLDR and I cannot dual boot into anyting but VISTA as I get the message statingthe NTLDR is either missing or corrupted . If I run a repair and then type FIXBOOT , I can then get back into XP.., but of course..., no longer can boot into VISTA ( no big loss but it would have been nice ) and only have XP.
I cannot find the XP drivers for audio , video ( ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 ) or wireless and an UNKNOWN DEVICE. I've looked and looked, but incredibly there seems to be no XP drivers for these devices.
I just feel that Dell has the XP drivers for these devices but somehow is just not releasing them. It's really unfair to be "locked" into one OS ( which , by the way...sucks!) and feel like a idiot for believing the sales rep.
Drivers are available here for Vista x64.
The are NVidia version 178.75 and should help with stability when using Hybrid SLI.
i installed a fresh copy of windows 7 32 bit on my machine and on dells website the drivers are on ly offered in 64 bit, most of them do not wrk on this os.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi'd like to install Windows 7 on my Studio 1735.
Questions are:
- Do i have to install the, quite old, Dell Notebook System Software driver?
- Do i have to install the (Vista) Chipset drivers from the Dell Download page or can i download the newer ones from Intel.com? If yes to the latter, which one do i need?
- What about the ATI HD 3650 Video drivers, should i use the , old, ones'from the Dell Download page or can i find newer ones from ATI?
- can i just use the drivers delivered with Win 7 only and use Windows update for some uninstalled devices?
Unfortunately, Dell only provides Vista drivers, there will be no Win7 for the 1735.
What are your experiences on installing Win7 on a Studio 17(35), by the way?
I just got a new studio 14 laptop from dell with Vista OS
I need ti install XP SP1/SP2 in that
tell me the procedure what settings i need to change in the bios to install windows os
any link where I can get the drivers for the Studio 14 laptop
Does anyone here have a list of what drivers they are using with Windows 7 64 bit ?
I am about to rebuild my laptop and I am wanting to use the latest versions - including any from any 3rd party vendors like Intel, ATI etc.
When updating to Windows 7 the audio drivers look like the right ones for the studio 15 or any with the IDT,
it is not it is generic and you will need the updated driver from the Dell support site, it adds the surround and bass that will be missing and I noticed a big difference.
I have finally managed to compile a complete set of drivers for Windows XP Professional, seeing as Dell don't provide any for that OS.
So far, everything's been running fine for me. The graphics driver resets occasionally (just like it does on Vista) but doesn't seem to cause any problems.
I'm just glad to get rid of Vista - that was horrid!
The .zip I've compiled is 354MB
It contains the following drivers:
- Intel Chipset
- RICOH Flash Media Controller
- IDT Audio
- LAN
- Wireless LAN
- Bluetooth
- Infra-red
- AMD HDMI Audio
- Touchpad
- Webcam
- Graphics (Catalyst 8.9 - modified using Mobility Modder.NET) *
- Mobility Modder.NET
- .NET Framework (v1.1, v1.1 SP1, v2.0 and v2.0 SP1) - required for CCC and Mobility Modder.NET
I've not found Quickset drivers yet

Manufacturer: unknown
Location: PCI bus 9, device 1, function 3
Device Status:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
Updating the driver through both the internet and searching through my computer has not found a driver. Any ideas on what the issue might be?
I Â recently had to replace the hard drive on my Studio 1558 laptop and reinstalled the operating system using the disk that came with it. All went well until I had to reinstall the device drivers to get my device to access the internet via wifi. So far, I can't seem to get the driver for the device that allows my laptop to see any wireless connections and have to plug in a network cable to go on the internet. how I can get the right device drivers other than using the device driver disk?

Now I have on item still not working after that upgrade. Â Â The integrated biometric (fingerprint reader) refuse to work. Â Windows 7 x64 did detect that it was an Authentec device, and installed it driver.
But If I installe the software for the reader. Â It refuse to install and give this as the reason (No driver installed for the reader) Â I've tried to replace the windows driver with the original Authentec drivers, but windows 7 replace the drivers with it's own.
Any windows 7 drivers out there for my Authentec integrated device ? Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if Dell modifies the video card drivers that they post on the driver download website specifically for their machines?
Or do they just download the latest drivers from the Nvidia webiste test on a particular machine for a little while and either pass or fail the driver for official use?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a Dell 7520 and it has four 3.0 usb ports. However, I have discovered that one program I use does not support Intel 3.0 USB ports only USB 2.0 ports. So the only port that program will use is the Realtek USB card reader on the 7520 because that is a native 2.0 port.
According to a poster Innogen on the Intel support forum "The BIOS in my Dell Inspiron 7520 allows me to disable it so that the USB 3.0 ports revert to USB 2.0 functionality." but I can't find any such functionality in my BIOS (using version A06).

I tried uninstalling the Intel USB 3.0 drivers in WIn 7 Ultimate hoping that when I rebooted it would install USB 2.0 drivers but it simply reinstalled the USB 3.0 drivers.
I would really like to get this program working on my computer and while I am not happy about losing USB 3.0 functionality I can live with it until the vendor gets its act together and starts to support Intel USB 3.0.
