Dell :: Truemobile Bluetooth Connector Pinout

Jun 24, 2008

Dell Truemobile bluetooth connector on the motherboard just appears to be a USB port.

What I wanted to do was use a generic bluetooth module and wire it to the Dell Truemobile bluetooth connector but I need the pinouts. There seems to be 10 pins but on USB there is only 4.

I have an Latitude X300 and disassembled the laptop entirely looking for a contact points for a possible USB connection on the motherboard. I thought there would be some because there are many USB hubs listed in device manager but only 2 ports on the actual laptop itself, but I couldn't find any so I am trying to work with the Truemobile connector.

Dell :: Bluetooth 355 Card For M1330

Jun 10, 2008

I just purchased an M1330 without bluetooth and I'm looking to install the Dell 355 module (needs to be Vista compatible) but there are several listed on Dell's site;

[url]

There is one listed specifically for the M1330 and then there is one that says "For Windows Vista" The one for the M1330 is $11 more than the others and I'm just curious if the others are the exact same (dimension wise too)

Which one should I get?

It also looks like the Truemobile 360 which supports BT 2.1 may also work. Only real difference between it and the 355 seems to be the chipset (355 uses Broadcom, 360 uses CSR) otherwise it appears that physically they are the same dimensions and all

Dell :: Adding A Bluetooth Card Into M1530?

I've searched the forum and found a service diagram on installing the bluetooth card into the M1530 notebook. My question is, I never choose to have it put in by dell, so I know I need to purchase the card and I'm going to guess that the cable will need to be purchased as well.

Dell :: Installing Bluetooth Card In Studio 17

Mar 11, 2009

I ordered a Bluetooth card from Dell for my Studio 17, and I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these yet. I already have the WLAN card installed which is for the WiFi operations and Im wondering how hard of a job it is to install the Bluetooth card.

I already added a second hard drive to my laptop so going inside of it isnt a problem I know what Im doing but have no clue where the Wireless cards are mounted. Im hoping the Bluetooth slot is marked so I know where it goes.

I have a Latitude E6420 that came without a Bluetooth card. Is it possible to add the Dell TrueMobile 375 Bluetooth module to this machine? I looked in the Service Manual for the 6420 but it did not show where the Bluetooh moduel cable the plugged into the motherboard. In fact, I opened the case and found the slot where the Bluetooth module would be mounted but did not see a place to plug in the cable.

Dell :: USB? Bluetooth Internal Card On Old Inspiron's (i9300 Etc)

Feb 11, 2010

Does anyone know if the internal Bluetooth card that slots into the underneath compartment on old Dell Inspiron's (like the i9300) uses a USB connection?

What I mean by that is, if I were to chop the plug off the end of the connector cable and replace it with a female usb socket, would I be able to run any USB device off it? I need an extra usb socket for a pretty extreme casemod I'm doing at the moment and it ideally (definitely!) needs to be on the underside of the laptop.

HP/Compaq :: Wireless Card And Bluetooth Upgrade

Jul 10, 2009

I have a question concerning self-upgrading of the wireless card and bluetooth.

Long story short, I have a Lenovo T61 that has bluetooth and the Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card. However, both the inverter and graphics card (nVidia quadro 140M) have failed. I have determined it is best to buy a new laptop.

I am planning to either buy a HP Pavilion dv6t or dv4t. However, I would like to know if it is possible to forgo getting bluetooth and the wireless-n card when I order this laptop and install these components myself as I already have them from my Lenovo T61. My Lenovo T61 is just going to collect dust, and I am willing to take it apart for the individual parts.

Is it worth the work? I believe I will not have problems taking apart the HP Pavilion and the Lenovo T61 as I am aware of the websites that show you how to take apart these models. But will the HP Pavilion motherboard support the wireless-n card and bluetooth if I originally did not order such components? Will the warranty be affected?

Additional information: I shall be buying the HP Pavilion from Costco.

Dell :: Bluetooth Disappears After Standby. Vista + Bluetooth 370.

Jul 19, 2009

I noticed a few other threads around the internet about this issue, but couldnt find a definitive answer on how to get it fixed, so I thought I would try it here.

The problem is that when I go into standby and wake from it, my bluetooth icon disappears and bluetooth doesnt work.

I have a Dell Studio XPS 13 running Vista 64 with the Dell bluetooth 370 minicard. Ive tried using the generic windows bluetooth drivers as well as Dell's drivers.

Nothing appears in device manager as well. I have to manually go into bluetooth settings, disable the device, then re-enable it.

Acer :: 1810T: How Do I Disable Power Management On Bluetooth; Keep Bluetooth Fully Powered

Feb 8, 2010

My Bluetooth keyboard goes to sleep after a period of idle and it takes 15 seconds for the Acer Aspire 1810T to wake up and notice the Bluetooth keypresses.

However, I found out my Bluetooth keyboard works reliably when I have a second Bluetooth device connected and active at the time (such as either a headset or bluetooth tethering to a cellphone as modem), the computer doesn't have a 15 second lag in noticing the Bluetooth keyboard again - the keyboard works almost right away even after being unused for sometime.

So that means the culprit is in the power management on the Acer Bluetooth module. Is there a way to force the Bluetooth module to never go to sleep? Any checkbox somewhere, a register setting? Even going as far to purchase a different Bluetooth driver? Or any other option? Sometimes the sleep is useful, but it definitely isn't useful with the Bluetooth keyboard. This problem does not happen if I use an external Bluetooth dongle.

(With BatteryBar Pro, I notice that power consumption falls suddenly whenever the Bluetooth module goes to sleep when the keyboard goes idle for more than 30 seconds, and at this point, it has difficulty 'waking up' when I start typing on the Bluetooth keyboard. But the problem also still happens when the laptop is plugged in!)

Acer :: How To Enable Bluetooth On D150 Without External Bluetooth Button Under LED

Aug 12, 2009

I have finally tested the Acer Empowering Technology software on my Acer D150.

Great news, the software works to enable/disable the Bluetooth module on the netbook without physically pressing the button. This is great for people like me that do not have the button on top to push the button inside. There are two software needed for people to get this running on the D150. First is the required “Acer Empowering Framework” software and the second is the “Acer ePower Management.” Once both software are installed on the system, the setting to enable/disable the Bluetooth module is in the ePower Management.

Power profiles within windows will probably be reset to default, so those would have to be readjusted if a user changed them. I am actually running Windows Vista on my Acer D150 with the Acer Empowering Technology software for Vista. I am not 100% sure if the software will also work on XP, but from the notebookreview forums, I believe it should work just as fine (but more options on other Empowering Technology software).

(in XP, the driver also works, but need XP edition, not vista editon).

Dell :: Bluetooth 365/370 Modules Failing-multiple Platform,multiple Bluetooth Versions

Apr 17, 2010

I have need to use Bluetooth stereo audio functionality (A2DP profile) almost exclusively when I use my laptop.

I had owned a M1330 with the Dell 355 Bluetooth Module for several years without issue. Last November, I decided to upgrade and purchased an M15x (laptop #1) with the Dell 370 Bluetooth module included,running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Not more than one day out of the box,the 370 module failed while watching a movie. It literally disappeared from device manager and no uninstalling/reinstallation of drivers alleviated the situation. The only way to get the radio to be recognized by the operating system was, and is, to shutdown,reboot into bios,disable the card in bios,reboot into windows,restart,boot into bios,enable the card and then reboot into Windows. The card would then work for awhile but eventually fail again. The module works for short periods of time but if put under an extended load,fails. That and other issues with the M15x caused me to return it.

Contacted Dell and returned the M15x and bought and built a Studio XPS 1645 (laptop #2) to replace it. Received the unit and literally within the 1st few hours,the 370 module failed exactly like the M15x.I thought o.k. a bad card and had tech support send out a new module for the XPS 1645. Received and installed it and the exact same problem happened. Failed when under an extended load. Again called tech support and was then dispatched an onsite tech to replace the entire motherboard and card. No resolution-card failed again. Spoke with a resolution specialist and returned it and again purchased a M15x (laptop #3-really liked the M15x over the XPS 1645)

Received the M15x-Bluetooth failure again. At this point, was considering dropping Dell altogether but thought I'd try the Studio 1558 (laptop #4) with the Bluetooth 365 module, in order to rule out the 370 card, first. Ordered and was delivered on the 5th of April, same exact issue-failure of card under a load. I am returning this defective Studio 1558 and again getting a M15x (laptop #5). I realize that the M15x Bluetooth card will fail again-in fact,am 100% sure it will fail,but have bought a Sony Bluetooth transmitter as a workaround.

What appears to be happening is that the card will shutdown when it gets warm.This is either a Broadcom manufacturing defect or a Dell engineering issue. I know now through personal experience that there is a serious issue with Dell Bluetooth cards.

If this was happening with only one laptop, I'd be ok with it but, this is occuring across multiple laptop platforms, with both Broadcom Bluetooth cards that Dell brands and sells.

This is either an oversight by engineering-maybe they didn't test the card under a heavy load, or Dell is knowingly selling defective equipment.

Dell :: M4400 Internal Card Reader Cannot Read Some SD Card

Feb 22, 2010

I have a brand new M4400, running W7pro x64. The M4400 came with an internal SD card reader. Now this card reader cannot read some standard SD cards (other work fine). Especially,

I have a Transcend SD 4GB 133x (http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com/i...ard-detail.jpg) that is problematic.

When I put the card in the reader, W7 tells me to format the card. This I do not want to do, of course. If I open Disk Management, it takes ages to open, and eventually shows the card as "Unallocated".

I've been having problems with my video card. (M1710 with a 7950GTX card). The card was overheating and even after applying AS5 and cleaning the vents it was reaching around 100c in games. After about a year, i started to also get memory parity errors...

Long story short, i contacted dell and they mailed me a new mb and a new video card.

I just got it now, and i am going to open the rig and replace the video card.. I am just not sure about the mother board, should i replace it as well ?

The parts that dell sent are refurbished parts, and as i know that my m.board is working i am not sure whether i should replace it or not.

When I put the 2GB card in, Windows Vista says it has to be formatted; at this point the card is already unreadable in the camera and must be formatted againg there.

If I try to format on pc, the process stops at about 90% with an error.

Dell :: Bluetooth

Oct 28, 2008

I have experienced a strane problem with bluetooth. Generally it works fine, but sometimes when I connect some some kind of device (Nokia 6300 phone) and after some time turn off bluetooth(the switch on the right side) without turning of bluetooth in the phone, the whole BT module in Vista just hangs. The BT icon is available but no BT adapter is found (the system does not recognize the Dell Bluetooth Module) and it does not help to turn on and off for few times. But the worst is the fact, that after the BT maodule hangs i cannot turn off or suspend the computer. It just hangs at the Shutting down screen forever the only thing I can do is to turn it off by holding power button for longer time... When I first disconnet all BT devices and then turn off the BT module everything's OK and no other problems occur. Is this a driver or hardware issue ?

I have XPS M1530 with Vista SP1 (all updates applyed)

i'm new to this forum and got problems with my Dell bluetooth 370 card.
i somehow managed to software disable my bluetooth card before completely formatting my HDD.
now after installing windows 7 i'm desperately trying to install the bluetooth drivers. no success. it always says "Press fn+f2 to aktivate bluetooth" but that won't work. the hardware switch is ON and i tried a few other things like resetting the bios to factory settings, removing bluetoothcard and installing windows 7 without it (reinstalled it afterwards).
i also tried this file http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&fileid=213714 (R159805) but it won't work for my bluetoothcard saying "no capable devices found".

Dell :: No Bluetooth 1645

Mar 28, 2010

All of the sudden, bluetooth stopped working on my laptop.

I installed the Dell driver when I first got the computer and everything was going fine. I was listening to music through some blue-tooth headphones this morning, when suddenly they unpaired.

Now, the BT light is on on the front of the computer, but the icon disappeared from the task bar. I tried reinstalling the driver, but got hung up when it asked to turn on blue-tooth with wireless button. The button doesn't do anything for turning on/off bluetooth that I can tell.

So now I'm stuck.

In Device Manager, there is no bluetooth 370 card. But I do have errors in the USB category and the "other devices" category.
