When I run off the battery, my windows glitch when minimized, maximized, or dragged across the screen. Everything is fine if left stationary, but when I move them it causes the glitching.

I just got vista ultimate fro my xps m1730 specs intel core 2 extreme processor 4GB RAM nvidia gforce 8800 gtx SLI I need to know what special drivers do i need.. I have fps drops going from 70 to 30 every 2 min. Would greatly be appriciated if you guys give me a link for the little lcd monitor i cant find the driver. I'm such a nub.
I have installed vista 64 but in the process had to format the hard drive. I have downloaded a few bits from acer website but cannot find a lot of other stuff.
I need the arcade thing to play blu ray films, nti backup thing, nti dvd writing software. Basically all the software apart from the games.
I used to have Vista 32-bit on here and I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. The problem is that the Sony website doesn't release Windows 7 64-bit drivers for my model as it is only sold with Vista 32-bit.

As you can see, there is no drop down menu anywhere to select which operating system I have.
And here: [url] it says that Windows 7 is not supported. (I have ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and my computer seemed to check out and pass all the system requirements.)
where all necessary driver updates for my computer are, as many things I've noticed either don't function the same or at all as they used to when I had Vista?
Here's a list of all the problems that I've noticed so far.
- Scroll on touch pad didn't work (Resolved by downloading Synaptics drivers)
- Plugging into the headphone jack didn't do anything (Resolved by downloading Realtek drivers but Windows Update keeps insisting I install their Realtek drivers which brought up the problem again)
- Volume buttons change the volume in very tiny increments and doesn't show the levels on screen (Major issue for me.)
- Doesn't support Dual/Multi Monitors
- Doesn't recognize MIDI Controllers (Resolved. Not sure how.)
- Card reader doesn't work. (Another major problem.)
- Webcam doesn't work. (Built-in mic seems to work fine.)
- "AV Mode" button does nothing (I've never had a use for this button but before it would make the whole screen go black.)
I have a precision m70 and I wanted to know if I can use the geforce 6800go video card that was for an inspiron 9300? Also, can I use the 17" screen from inspiron 9300 or XPS gen 2 on a precision m70? I prefer to use the XPS gen 2 screen because of the darker bezel.
I searched but couldn't find anything on this. I had an 8600 processor originally and got a QX9300 for my M6400. Nothing else changed (yet) and I'm running W7. The fan hardly spun up to an audible degree with the 86, but now with the QX I hear the fan all the time...
Is this normal? I mean, I know it's a quad core vs. a dual core and the clock speed is slightly faster (2.53G vs. 2.4G). But I can just have the laptop sitting doing nothing and the fan is kicked up pretty much all the time....
I have an XPS M1710 Core Duo, with an upgraded 7950 GTX GPU which I'm going to be changing to a Quadro 3500M for OpenGL.
If I change the CPU from a T2500(2 GhZ) to a T7600(2.33 GhZ). Will my Mobo run at 64bit or not? My brothers seems to think not, and I'm not sure on this one!.
I was thinking of buying this laptop Acer AS5738PG-6306 and wanted to check if the GPU can be upgraded for better gaming?

i just upgraded to windows 7 home prmium 64 bit on my laptop .but the ricoh memory stick device and sd memory card device does not appear on my computer although in the device management window i can see it is and has no problems.and i cannot shrink my volume more than a 100gb(note that when i was using vista i was havaing 4 partitions with 91 gb each).so this means i can only create one additional partititon.is there ay other way to increase the shrink volume?
I installed a Samsung 840EVO 500GB SSD in my Precision M4400 last weekend. I managed to get it working but it only works in ATA mode. All others modes I tried brought me to the windows splash screen quickly followed by a blue screen that flashed so quickly I couldn't read it before the system rebooted. If I let it reboot it continues to do the same thing over and over. As I understand it I would really benefit from the performance AHCI offers, particularly when running multiple programs at once.
I've got my Dell Inspiron n5040 for almost 14 months, on which I upgraded to Windows 8, and now it doesn't start anymore. It tried to start in repair mode, but then it just shows a black screen, which doesn't change.
After running diagnostics I've gotten error info:
Error Code 2000-0142Validation 63358Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N WD-WX51A8109114, self test unsuccesful. Status = 7.
I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5520 to Windows 8 and now the media buttons don't work. Is there a Dell driver or update that I need to install to bring back this functionality in Windows 8?
I just upgraded to a T9300 CPU, I bought it in ebay for £120 only, brand new (not an ES), and it is great. It is much cooler than the T7300 I had. Idle temp is around 32oC where before were around 40-42 oC. Of course I don't know if that was because I put fresh AS paste on the CPU where before the T7300, I think, had a thermal pad (melted on the core).
To be honest though, changing the CPU wasn’t as easy as I was imagined. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos as I didn’t know what I was doing but in the end all went well. I had to remove the graphic card and in order to remove the heat sink I had to remove a couple of other screws of the back chassis so I lifted it a bit to slide out carefully the heat sink. Then you remove the old CPU, clean the heat sink with ethanol and then place the new CPU, put some AS paste on the core and slide the heat sink in carefully and screw it tight on its place.
It is slightly faster in the games and much faster in using other software like movie maker. The games are running much smoother now but that is with games that are close to 21-24fps. World in Conflict uses a lot of that CPU. I ran the benchmark and with High physics and the CPU usage was 98-100%, both cores. During gaming is much less around 35%, explosions produce CPU usage spikes. Temp of CPU is around 65oC most of time during gaming, but it can go up to 68oC if you demand more from the CPU. My wPrime 32M score was 41s-42s with the T7300 and now is just below 30s (29.687s). My 3Dmark06 score increased as well from 4240 to 4567. I am very pleased with the end result.
Next thing is to upgrade to fast RAM like the 4GB (2x2GB) HyperX Kingston CL4 667MHz or 800MHz, then 320GB WD hard drive Black Scorpio and maybe try to upgrade to a new graphic card compatible with Acer 5920G with at least 512MB memory (9600M GS perhaps).
yesterday upgraded cpu in ferrari one with 2.4GHz AMD Turion Dual Core TL66 processor, also upgraded Ram to 4gig. laptop is a bit random, but works ok, have tested a couple of games on it and it seems ok for now, although is running a bit hot? not sure if this is going to cause any problems? have also flashed bios..any ideas as to what could go wrong? ram and cpu from my dead ferrari 1100
The original cpu was a 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual coreprocessor, acer tech guys said it was not upgradeble...
I received my Windows 7 free upgrade disks today, and installed without any problems from Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I have a Vaio FW490. I also installed the Windows 7 companion dvd drivers which came with the Windows 7 DVD. I did an upgrade, not a clean install.
Everything ran smoothly, but for some reason my Logitech Bluetooth mouse is no longer recognized. I tried the add wireless device, without any success. I then tried to find the bluetooth drivers in the device manager without success. I would appreciate help in locating which driver I would download from the Sony site.
After three stripped screws and re-applying the thermal paste three times, I am now happy with upgrading to t9900 from t9950. Idle temps are just a few degrees higher then the t9550. Load temps are higher too. My gpu temps are now the same as before which is a miracle since there is only one heat-pipe and fan cooling everything (cpu, gpu, and chipset). Was it worth it? Yea, the upgrade gave me a great experience with my laptop. I can now open my laptop without looking at any documentation
I've been reading up and thinking about purchasing the upgrade for my OS I am currently running OS X 10.5.8 so I am here to ask those who have upgraded to Snow Leopard, is it worth it? What I am getting different with this upgrade?
I admit that one should take this with a grain of salt but still, the fact remains that an upgrade path now exists for the previously-tricky 5920G, and possibly for ALL Acer MXM models!
I have an acer aspire 5515. Great machine for me. I am interested in finding out if the processor can be upgraded. It currently has a AMD Athlon™ 2650e 1.6ghz in it. I have not been able to find information on the motherboard for this laptop. Acer site was not much help but I figured it was because the laptop came out around 12/09 but i dont no for sure. I happened upon the emachine site and there is one that looks exactly like it and has the same specs. So I have to wonder if this is an emachine with acer plastered all over it. Does anyone no what the motherboard model is or for sure what the highest processor i can upgrade to, if possible. I see where others say they have put higher processors in it but want to no for sure.
