Aug 19, 2009My studio 1555 with Radeon 4570 graphics starts the fan very often, when the GPU temp reaches 51C and stops when it hits 44C. It only takes 3-5 minutes to go from 44C to 51C and thats with me doing NOTHING on the computer. So I'm seriously thinking about going to a non-Radeon Studio 1555 as i like the laptop overall.
I just wanted to know for the 4500MHD owners, does your fan go off even if the laptop is just sitting there idle doing nothing at all? If you can download the program i8kfangui to monitor your CPU, GPU, and Chipset temps. I'd appreciate it if you could just turn the reply back with your Peak temps for the CPU, GPU, and chipset. (if you don't see them displayed go to Options -> Status Reading tab -> check the three boxes for the above items. Please click on Reset Peak Values then let your laptop sit idle for 10-20min.

Dell :: Quadro NVS 160 M Vs Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
Sep 7, 2009I have Dell Latitude D820 with NVidia Quadro NVS 120M, but its causing failures, probably NVIDIA GPU. There are vertical straight lines on the screen, sometimes it won't boot at all, sometimes it would go dark screen and never start... etc Its been approximately 2 years since Ive had it.
Im planning on buying Dell latitude E6500.
I have the following questions:
1) Most people's reviews about E6500 are very disappointing, is it really true that E6500 is worse than the D820 or D series laptops in terms of build quality and hardware failure problems?
2) Considering Im having trouble with the NVidia GOU (probably) and that some people have witnessed GPU failures in Apple Macbook Pro (which uses 9400M and 9600M GPUs) and E6500 uses 160M (9300M GPU), so its a 9-series GPUs failing. Should I consider having Quadro NVS 160M in E6500 or I should avoid it and get Intel's Graphics card for now?
3) How much performance affect is there if comparing NVS 160 M with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD ? regarding the basic 3D simulations, such as using Macromedia Director or Studio Max, or games? I mean to ask, is Quadro NVS 160M really worth it?

Feb 6, 2009wen i bought my studio 15 i go the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD for my gpu cuz i dont do any serious gaming... anyways i play this korean fps game and looked at the requirements and thought i would be ok, but i cant run it.
the system requirements for the game is pentium 3-800 mhz for cpu, for the graphics its atleast 32 mb, and the ram is 256mb. i mean my like 5+ year old desktop ran it and how come my studio 15 cant run it. i d/l and wat ur suppose to do is log in at the web browser at ie, then click the server and loads the game.
after it loads and its about to enter it, the screen just turns black, and stays there.
Dell :: Studio 1555 W/4570 GPUlow Desktop Graphics Score But High Gaming Graphics Score From WEI
Dec 17, 2009Just purchased a 1555 with the radeon 4570 512mb GPU, Windows 7 64-bit, and performance is generally very good apart from one strange result. Windows experience index reports the following -
Processor - 5.7
Memory - 5.8
Graphics - 4.9
Gaming Graphics - 6.3
hard disk - 5.9
So the only low result is the desktop aero graphics performance at 4.9, which seems strange when the 3D businnes/gaming graphics score is 6.3. Other results i've seen posted on forums of the Windows 7 WEI scores are usually the same for desktop graphics and 3D graphics in Windows 7, which I would have expected as I understood that aero uses the GPU similarly to games. If anything, it looked like in most results the desktop graphics scores were slightly higher than the gaming graphics scores.
Does anyone know why I could be getting a lot lower desktop graphics score compared to gaming graphics?
I've checked the graphics drivers are up to date.
Can anybody else post their Windows 7 WEI scores from the 1555 with the 4570 512mb GPU?
Dell :: Which Graphics Driver To Use Fr Studio 1555?
Oct 12, 2009Dell is offering driver version 8.631.0.0000 (A09) for the mobility radeon 4570HD on their site.
I'm currently running modded catalyst 9.9 and the current driver installed is 8.632.1.2000.
Any reason I should use the Dell driver in this case or should I just keep on using the modded AMD one (which will probably be updated on a more regular basis)?
Dell :: Studio 1555 Graphics Issues
Sep 6, 2009I purchased a Dell Studio 15 last June, and since I have gotten it has yet to continually play any game.
I have installed Call of duty 2, and call of duty 4. I can play call of duty 2 for about 30 minutes before I begin to have graphical issues.
On the other hand, call of duty 4 experiences graphical difficulties immediately when i begin playing.
The strange thing is though that I have played call of duty 4 without any difficulties. I have called dell and installed/reinstalled the drivers and it doesn't work

Aug 31, 2009as of 2 hours ago my high speed has been stuck at 1 Mbps, much slower then its usual 65+ that I've had over the last 6 days since I got my laptop.
I'm thinking I may have received a faulty wireless card, since when I checked my wired desktop downstairs it's still at it's usual 100Mbps, and my sisters Inspiron 1420 has its normal high speed.
Now when I restart my wireless adapter (Intel 5100) the speed fluctuates between 4-38 Mbps for about a minute before dropping- and staying at 1 Mbps once again.
I checked if there are any computers stealing my wireless connection just in case, and as I thought no one is .....
Dell Studio 1555 :: (P7350 With ATI Graphics Card 512MB) Won't Boot
Feb 12, 2013Dell Studio 1555 (P7350 with ATI 512MB Graphic card) is not able to boot.
1. RAMs seems good. (2 beeps when removed, and no beep after installation)
2. Display seems OK (8 beeps when disconnected, and no beep when connected)
3. HDD is good. (Tested with other laptop)
After pressing the power button (can see the power light ON), no display, no beep, & fan doesn't start.
Is it a motherboard FAILURE? What do I need to do ?
I can diassemble and reassemble it ????

I also tried playing a youtube video which showed up as a green screen. Ive looked around and it says i need to update my graphics driver. Apr 4, 2013I have an InspironR Special Edition 7520 and my AMD 7760 2GB will not activate or do any graphics processing. It is stuck on the Intel Graphics. I am running windows 8.
-My laptop is set on high performance and is plugged in.
-I ran NovaBench and it used the intel graphics card
-FurMark detected Intelgraphics as my main graphics card
-I ran a small game called "Slender: The Arrival" on the lowest settings it could barely handle it
-During the game and the graphics run I had Catalyst Control Center Up and it showed 0% usage of the graphics card, indicating it failed to switch
- All the drivers are up to date, per the windows solution and from downloading them from the AMD website.
I would like a solution to either, have the switch start working, or to change a setting so only the graphics card is constantly used. If this does not work I fear I'll have to return the laptop for faulty hardware.

Oct 10, 2009I know that the dv6000 is one of the worst laptops but I still tried to repair it and got a new motherboard.
Initial problem: fried motherboard.
Got a refurb one off ebay now my issues is as following:
Press the on power button, fan spins for 2 seconds and computer remains on with no boot posting. Hard drive light is OFF and I can't hear the harddrive but I don't think it is the hd because I should still be able to access the bios and monitor should still light on. screen doesn't display anything. cd drive works and when I put a cd such as a windows disc you will hear it work for a couple minutes.
I tried everything from resetting the power cycle, removed the memory, harddrive, connected an external monitor, changed the little battery inside the motherboard. all power cables and ribbons are connected. keyboard won't respond though (fn light wont light on and ctrl alt delete produces nothing) ! I hate HP. after opening the computer I realzied what a piece of junk.

Jul 1, 2009In my dell latitude d500,i am having intel 82852 graphics card and when i see report tab says me Maximum graphics memory is 64mb but memory in use only 5 or 7mb.Can someone help me to solve this problem because i can't play Counter-Strike on steam which is a game that released in 2000.
I believe that graphics memory in use is the problem that i can't play this game without having 60fps(i am having 15-30).

How does Intel X3100 compare to NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS?
I don't play any computer games. Had Fallout 3 for PC when my Xbox 360 broke again. I'm not going to play any games with this new Inspiron 13, but still just wondering. I have a 16" Acer right now, I wanted a smaller laptop to carry around and faster CPU. I hope the T8300 does its job.

Does Intel video card have something close? My old laptop had Intel video and it is very junk, it had blue tint to entire screen.
Dell Inspiron 1545 :: Intel Graphics Accelerator Has Crashed
Apr 4, 2012I am currently on Windows 7 and sometime randomly my Computer screen freezes up and I can't do anything but wait, then it says Mobile Intel graphics accelerator (XP) has crashed.
How and where do I get the driver for the Windows 7 version?
Also... I can't seem to update my BIOS version from A05 to A14 cause my battery is dead and it says I need 10% battery, that's crap, I don't care if I have battery or not I JUST WANT TO UPDATE IT.

Feb 9, 2010I have a 5810TZG basically it has an INTEL 4500MHD and a ATI HD4330 , I did a search and found only 2 other TZG results.
I bought a 5810T with only the INTEL 4500MHD , but returned it for a more powerful gpu.
So what does the Z in TZG mean.
What other versions are there.
Also the switchable graphics only work with the Acer drivers, I have tried v9.12 and above and get a blank screen unless i select dedicated ati only in the bios.
So it looks like we are stuck with catalyst v8.65 if i want switchable graphics or are we?

May 27, 2009I'm planning on making the switch to a Mac but I don't need a new notebook till Q3 09/Q1 2010. I know the next major hardware refresh is coming soon and I want a Macbook to last through uni but I don't know Apples sales strategies.
My main concern is the integrated graphics that the MB may come with when it is refreshed. What I wanted to ask is if anyone knows the likelihood that Apple will drop NVIDIA and go back to Intel.
Because if that was to be the case, I might as well buy one now (or once SL is released) because i'd rather have a Centrino 2 based MB w/ NVIDIAs iGPU then go back to Intel (harsh, i know... but it's the truth).
Even with all the benefits the Calpella chipset/Westmere CPU would bring i.e. USB 3.0, SATA-III, Bluetooth 3.0, native SSD support, removal of FSB, integrated memory controller, DDR3-1600, improved wireless tech (w/ finalized 802.11n spec), lower power consumption, 32nm Nehalem.
Man I wish Apple would stick with NVIDIA for their next platform. NVIDIA has greater compatibility than anyone else and I know for a fact that the integrated graphics that will come with Arrandale are just a higher clocked 4500MHD so it will still be a lot weaker then even todays Macbook offering (9400m) which is like taking two steps back.
Would be frickin AWESOME if we could get Calpella with a variant of Arrandale without its integrated graphics core. Instead, couple it with a 40/32nm shrink of the current 9400m based on the G300 architecture.............

However, the laptop came with another graphics cards too which is I suppose called an integrated graphics card. It's name is Intel HD 4000. So basically I was on a site which told me whether my computer could run a specific game or not. I passed everything like processor speed etc. but the graphics card. It said I use Intel 4000. I checked from some other applications and those also told me that I was using Intel 4000. I want to know whether I use both graphics cards or just Intel 4000 and if that is the case how I can switch manually from Intel to AMD Radeon graphics card.

Feb 5, 2013I cannot install a driver for Intel HD Graphics 4000 on my Inspiron 7520 / i7 (Windows 8 64bit).
I downloaded the driver (11/1/2012, 9.17.10.2843.A02) [URL] .....
But I get an error message: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.".
The same driver works fine on my second Inspiron 7520 / i5 (Windows 8 64bit).
Why I'm not able to install the driver? because of different processor? i7?
