View 4 Replies View Relatedto replace my Compaq V6000 AMD motherboard to an Intel. i am one of the victims of Nvidia GPU failure and i need to replace my motherboard to Intel. The original motherboard part number is 443777-001. i am aware of replacing amd cpu and fan to an intel which i have it on hand. i check Hp support and there are several intel motherboard numbers available to get such as part number 434725-001 but not sure if its the right part.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that the dv6000 is one of the worst laptops but I still tried to repair it and got a new motherboard.
Initial problem: fried motherboard.
Got a refurb one off ebay now my issues is as following:
Press the on power button, fan spins for 2 seconds and computer remains on with no boot posting. Hard drive light is OFF and I can't hear the harddrive but I don't think it is the hd because I should still be able to access the bios and monitor should still light on. screen doesn't display anything. cd drive works and when I put a cd such as a windows disc you will hear it work for a couple minutes.
I tried everything from resetting the power cycle, removed the memory, harddrive, connected an external monitor, changed the little battery inside the motherboard. all power cables and ribbons are connected. keyboard won't respond though (fn light wont light on and ctrl alt delete produces nothing) ! I hate HP. after opening the computer I realzied what a piece of junk.
well since my 1-year warranty is coming to an end and the price of the warranty extension is ridiculous so I am planning on doing some upgrading on my M1530.
Now, firstly I do have the Nvidia Gefore 8400 128mb card and I do realize a lot of the 8600M cards had the faulty GPU.
But I am willing to take the risk and upgrade it, but searching ebay.com there are a lot of motherboards with all sorts of numbers.
Some are N028D, F125f, MU715, F124F and so on.
My motherboard on a Dell XPS M1530 (configuration below) does not recognize the hard disk.
I checked the hard drive and it is working well so I concluded it is the motherboard. I need advise on how much a new motherboard would cost, which motherboard I need, and whether it is worth going through a repair/replacement.
I gave the laptop (it is out of warranty, but with the cause being water damage the warranty would most probably be void anyway) to a repair shop and they want $349 to attempt a repair or $149 to replace it with a new one (this does not include the cost of a new motherboard).
I was looking for one on ebay, however I am not sure if it will be compatible with my configuration.
I would appreciate if anyone who had the same problem or experience with a similar issue can provide any input. Here is the configuration: ...
I just got a Acer One 751. It has an Atom Z520 1.33GHz CPU running at 1.24GHz.
When I'm running on battery it's not downclocking, it keeps running at 1.24Ghz. How can I downclock it?
My Samsung NC10 allows me to clock the 1.6Ghz Atom to 800MHz.
It's listed as (Two cores) in DXDiag and shows up as two separate processors under Device Manager.

if the Intel Ultimate-N 5300 Wireless Wifi Link Card will work on my Dell XPS M1530 laptop?
I currently use the Intel 4965A AGN so i have the 3 antennas connected to it, But i can't find any confirmation that the 5300 will work with the M1530. I see that it says it's for the Centrino 2 but i don't know if it's for a certain motherboard or chipset.
One of my mates has a dead M1330. I told him about the "oven" trick but his wife might hurt the both of us. It is however possible to replace the motherboard with the integrated X3100 motherboard correct?

View 10 Replies View Relatedi looked online i couldn't find an comparison between :
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor SU9400 vs Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500.
i am trying to buy my first acer computer and i am deliberate between the timeline 14" with one of this cpu .
i was wondering what would bee the different between the 2.
they have the some system bus 800mhz and the some clock speed 1.4Ghz, the only different is between 1 core or 2 .
price different would be from 579$ (staples spacial) with su3500 to 919$ (only from Canada) with su9400.
what the performance difference is between the Intel Core i7-620M and the . Intel Core i7-820QM. I always thought the quad core 820QM was faster, but on the hp website the dual core 620M is more expensive.
Is the 620M faster? And is it faster for specific things only?
I own a Dell 7520 and it has four 3.0 usb ports. However, I have discovered that one program I use does not support Intel 3.0 USB ports only USB 2.0 ports. So the only port that program will use is the Realtek USB card reader on the 7520 because that is a native 2.0 port.
According to a poster Innogen on the Intel support forum "The BIOS in my Dell Inspiron 7520 allows me to disable it so that the USB 3.0 ports revert to USB 2.0 functionality." but I can't find any such functionality in my BIOS (using version A06).

I tried uninstalling the Intel USB 3.0 drivers in WIn 7 Ultimate hoping that when I rebooted it would install USB 2.0 drivers but it simply reinstalled the USB 3.0 drivers.
I would really like to get this program working on my computer and while I am not happy about losing USB 3.0 functionality I can live with it until the vendor gets its act together and starts to support Intel USB 3.0.

Dell came and replaced my motherboard the other day, I was wondering if this also means that I got my GPU replaced?
I was told that my GPU was part of my motherboard by a friend.

1Gb Ram
60Gb HDD
Geforce Go 7800GTX 256mb

Windows Media Center 2005
I was playing CS:S, and all of a sudden i was getting artifacts on the display. Than the computer froze up and i had to power the laptop down manually.
I was able to restart the computer in safe mode a couple times.
But wow when i try to restart the computer, i'm getting artifacts on the Dell Splash screen. And then it would freeze up.
What do you think the issue is? At first i was thinking the GPU is the problem. But now i'm beginning to think its the motherboards.
I have recently put an M1710 LCD screen cover on my I9400, and the palmrest with the XPS logo in it.
I saw while I had my system apart my motherboard has the solder joints on it for the plugs for the LED's but no plugs for them(has them at the front for the speakers, next to the fans and next to the connection for the monitor).
Is it possible to solder the plugs on, will they work ?? I guess I will need a new BIOS for them ? anyone done it. Would appreciate any info/help. what plugs are they ?
Also is the XPS logo in the touchpad controlable ? mine isn't working at the moment (it's plugged in and was bought second hand but supposidly working ?) anyone know. I know others have done this mod.
my motherboard crashed and my harddrive has some important files, is there a way to extract the files from the hard drive with my current pc?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter some issues i had with my GPU, Dell agreed to replace both my Heatsink and Motherboard, and i wanted to ask those who have had replacements in the past; has anything changed since july 2008? (when i bought my m1530)
have they improved the heatsink, or even changed it? ( i got the aluminum one, crappy piece of engineering right there )
and im sure the GPU issues are still present, but do they run cooler now ?
im asking this because in July the "defective Nvidia GPUs" were still in the dark, and the news about them was a mere rumor...
My E6500 is having the motherboard replaced later today. Is there anything I should be aware of or that I should check out once it's done?

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe motherboard on my XPS M1330 needs replacing for the second time. First time it was replaced under warranty, but my system is now out of warranty so I'm going to replace it myself.
I phoned Dell and they're charging €400 for a replacement but I can get it cheaper if I knew the Dell part number. I have the NVIDIA 8400M GS.
From doing some research, here are some part numbers for motherboards for XPS M1330's:
PU073
GM848
CX062
D057F
K984J
How can I check my existing motherboard's part number to ensure I order the correct part?
Dell has replaced my SXPS 16s motherboard thrice in order to solve my overheating issues and some usb errors in the diagnostics and each time i have noticed that my motherboard has been downgraded.
The initial one was an A02, replaced by an A02 (new), replaced by an A01 (new), and then replaced by an A00 (refurbed).
All this hassle never solved my problems but introduced a new one - the sound latency issue. I just play a song in WMP and start browsing and the sound crackles and pops so badly that I feel like bloody throwing this thing out of the window, although I cant coz its darn expensive
Has been soo long since I post anything on this great forum! I appreciate everyone's time here, and thank you all for taking some time to help me diagnose this problem. Anyways here is the problem:
I bought a "broken" Dell M1210 from ebay. The cosmetics of the laptop looks very good: no dents, few scratch marks, and almost no blemishes. It did not came with a hard drive, only an AC adapter.
Currently, I am trying to transfer ownership to me and will be trying to buy warranty for my m1210 once the transfer is complete. My m1210 is a little more then 1 month out of warranty coverage period.
I have completely disassemble the laptop and examine the motherboard, it looks and smells new. Internally, everything is very, very clean. The motherboard model of mine is HN110, the one that has the geforce 7400gs in it.
However, the batter is bad because it holds no power. I have tried on my friend's m1210 and checked it through Dell utilities and it gave a thumbs down.
I cannot confirm if the LCD, speaker, sound card, processor, system fan, heatsink, and camera are fine, or not.
I am able to confirm the ram, wireless card, and the CD drive are perfectly functional. I have yet to test those under performance conditions.
The main problems is:
I am unable to turn on the laptop.
I have tried 5 different adapters: 2 Dell m1210, 1 E1705, 1 E1505, and 1 Targus universal adapter. All of them do not work on the laptop.
When I plugged a Dell adapter into my m1210, the AC adapter shuts off. The green light on the Dell AC Adapter shuts off.
I tried my friend's charged battery to power up my laptop;however, my m1210 still will not power on.
I have not find a way to test the circuit board on my m1210 and my friend is very, very wary of me opening up their laptop. So anything that involves me trying different parts on his laptop will be almost impossible for me to ask for, he is a noob.
does a Dell 5150 isporon have a mother board battery.
I have to keep resetting clock and date when starting up, I just had the motherboard replaced.
I recently bought the XPS M1330 from a friend and wasn't familiar with the current issues caused by the nVidia GeForce 8400M GS. Lately, I've been looking for a solution to the problem...
I was reading about the Cooper Mod in another thread and it just seems like a temporary fix...
So, I was wondering has anyone tried manually installing the Intel version of the motherboard, since it seems to have no overheating problems. Has anyone tried a different motherboard to fix the overheating?
