i have a trouble on my new clean install laptop.i got every single driver on windows 7 home basic working normal except the wifi problem.i don't have a cable connection, i use modem for the replacement as well.

My wife and I each have new ZBook 17s that work fine on our wireless network. How do I force them to use our wired network via CAT5 cable connection? There is a button that turns off the wireless, but that doesn't seem to do anything except turn the wireless off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a proud owner of a DELL xps M1730 laptop. Recently I experienced using my laptop on my television screen (LG). However, recently something went wrong. When I try to establish the HDMI connection my laptop won't change it's screen to the television screen.
It changes the resolution on the laptop screen and that's it. When my friend get's here with his xps m1730 it does work for him.
I tried connect a screen trough the DELL quickset but nothing I do seems to help and it is hard to find information on the web concerning this issue. Maybe it is a very easy procedure and I misschanged some of the settings....

I am trying to install a Dell TrueMobile 375 Bluetooth module in my Latitude E6420. I have read the instructions in the E6420 Service Manual but it is not obvious where the other end of the cable on the 375 Bluetooth module plugs into the motherboard. The images provided in the Service Manual are of no luck, as they only show where the module goes, not where the cable on the module plugs into a corresponding socket.

I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.
I have a HP G60-519WM laptop. The wireless connection is off. It tells me to "Use the switch on the front side of the computer, or function keys if available to enable wireless capability on this computer. I cannot find that switch or button anywhere. I'm not sure how it was turned off as it is not my laptop. One day it worked the next day it didn't.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the HP G72 Notebook PC and it operates on the windows 7 home premium 64-bit operating system. I was once able to get on my internet without any issues. I changed my carrier to uverse and was still able to connect for a week or two and then one day my computer says that no internet connection is found. Other computers connect just fine except mine's. I made sure that the wireless key was engaged and it was.
I then tried to restore my computer to an earlier date in hopes that whatever happened would be reversed. The system wouldn't allow it and wouldn't complete the request. Now When trouble shooting i also get the following message. "an error occurred while loading the troubleshooter: An unexpected error has occurred. the troubleshooting wizard can't continue." The only thing that I remember doing before this problem occurred was changing from google internet surfing to explore. It work for a short time thereafter and then stopped.
I purchased an HP ENVY dv6 Notebook from Costco today, running Windows 8, an Atheros AR9485 adapter, and connecting to a Belkin Surf N300 Wireless N Router - Model# F7D6301 v3.
My problem is, in the past 6-7 hours of usage, I've lost connection 3 separate times. The first two times was fairly brief, lasting only a few minutes. I closed out the Internet Explorer Application, and upon reopening it and attempting to connect again, worked fine. The last occurrence, however, lasted 15-20 minutes and finally resulted in me just hard wiring it in.
I'm brand new to HP computers, and Windows 8 all together, so I'm not sure where to start first. I've searched around the web, and on the forums here, but haven't found a fix.
I use the wireless router daily (hard wired) for my Xbox 360, and rarely, if ever, has issues connecting.
My HP Pavilion 14e016tx (win 7, 64-bit, ralink rt3290 802.11) just won't detect any WiFi connections. Sometimes it does detect but when I try to connect, it always show the failure message ("windows was unable to connect to xxxxx".

I keep losing WiFi connection. And yesterday I had to do a restore as WiFi completely disappeared from my computer. It just was no longer there. If happens again do I hv to restore again? What is the reason with losing/dropping WiFi connection.
As above I keep losing internet connection on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and often have to turn off to get it back. I have had the laptop for over a year now and have had this problem from day one. Often there are no connections to be seen at all. I can be on a site fine one minuete then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking dissconnect then reconnect will resolve the issue. But most of the time I have to switch off, leave it off for a few mins then reboot. This does not always work so I have to do it again.
As above, I have had this issue from day one. When I got it home there were no connections to be seen. I took it streight back to PC World they switched it on and connections were there. When I got home, switched on others were there but not my own. After switching off and on again mine was there. After that it was okay for a week or so then I started getting the problems I have now. My son sitting about three feet away from me on his lap top has no problems at all so I know it is the laptop and not my router. Also my wifes, my son's and my phone are on the internet through the router when this goes off. Now and then it will be okay for a couple of days but most of the time it goes off several times a day.
I have recently started to lose my internet connection intermitently When I go to internet connections list my network is not there and if I just wait sometimes 10 mins and sometimes an hour poof it shows up.At the same time this happens I check my phone and tablet and they are both connected to my network as well as my hp wireless printer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received a dual band Time Warner Cable router that I want to wirelessly connect with my HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that I had for 2 and a half years now. The laptop has no trouble seeing and connecting to the 2.4 Ghz band, but does not even see 5Ghz. I tried playing around with the router settings, but had no luck this far. I believe that it should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure. Whether I need to update my drivers or anything for it to be able to connect to 5G? Or perhaps purchase a new network card or adapter? Or am I out of luck connecting it to 5G?

Usually it will not connect to my wifi or will only connect for a few minutes and then say 'limited' and then not connect at all. I did the full windows updates for the computer. I updated the drivers for the wifi adapter. I updated the firmware to my router. I also uninstalled norton. None of these have worked, still will not connect or will connect and drop within a few minutes. My system information is as follows:

I have two ipads, two iphones, an xbox, a windows phone, two toshiba laptops, and one hp pavillion DM3 that are able to connect and maintain wifi connection with no problem (not all connected at the some time necessarily-it is not an overloading problem). The network is running fine, i just cannot figure out what the problem is with this HP Envy.
I just got my new HP ENVY laptop. Product Name: m6-k025dx. It runs on Windows 8 64-bit. I am experiencing sudden, frequent loss of my Wifi connection. When it gets disconnected I don't even get the Connect To slider (which slides from the right side of the screen and shows the list of networks) on clicking the network button at bottom right corner of the screen. I need to restart my laptop to get connected again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose it again.
editing the Power Plan to maximum performance and unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" but nothing seems to work.
The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. I have also updated the driver and turned off Bluetooth and ethernet
I have an HP Envy 17-j053ea Notebook running Windows 8.1 64bit. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 network adapter. I am guessing from other posts that this adapter can't handle Windows 8.1 which is why I am continuously losing my wifi connection (other devices not running Windows 8.1 are fine).
