I think it is possible somehow, but I don't know how. I reduced brightness to zero using Fn key + End key, but it's not enough, I want to make screen darker, because my eyes get tired.
I m having an HP pavilion G62016-TX with Windows7 ultimate with 64 bit version,Purchased on Nov'2012.
Recently my PC crashed and when it was reinstalled with all drivers from HP FTP i am having below problems.
When i am adjusting my brightness , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.
When i am adjusting my sound , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.
I updated the BIOS to 2.26 a while ago and ever since then there's no on-screen indication of caps lock on/off, screen brightness or volume when I change it. Since it seemed to be affected by BIOS, I updated again to 2.27 just now, but the problem persists. I needed to update the Hotkeys Feature Integration by downloading the utility thingy from this page. Probably wasn't a BIOS thing after all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Pavilion dv6-6173cl laptop. It's been working fine until recently, when I left it on overnight to finish downloading a huge file. When I tried to adjust the brightness the next morning, I couldn't (though it was still at full brightness like I always keep it). So I thought, "why not reboot it?" I rebooted and now the display is the dimmest it can get with no way of adjusting the brightness using the brightness keys, control panel, or otherwise.
This has happened before. When it did, I did a factory reset on it and it fixed the problem. However, although there is no absolutely critical data on there and I can always make a backup, I prefer to not have to go through all that if it's avoidable. I have an external display that HP asked me to connect it to to see if it was a hardware or software issue. The external display was at full brightness, so when they asked me to ship it in I did a factory reset and that solved the problem. And now it's back.
Suddenly I can't change my screen brightness with f2 and f3, and neither in control panel. Is there a new driver I need to install ? My product number is > G6S71UA#ABA

So I noticed having hopped on my FE790 (3-years old) with Hi-Color technology that the contrast is SOOOOOO much better than on my FW465.
The colors on me FE790 look so much more vibrant and it was rather painful to look at the same picture of a multicolored flower on the FW with the FE790 right by its side.
I decided to use the Catalyst Control Ceneter from ATI to try to tweak the settings
I cannot adjust the brightness of my display using the Fn keys or the Control Panel... I have already had to replace my battery once... I need to be able to adjust the brightness in order save my battery life!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently bought an HP Probook430 and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and I don't seem to be able to change the display brightness, using the fn button+f9/f10 (although volume settings are changed in the same method smoothly).
Although the brightness settings don't seem to change, this bar does appear when pressing fn+f9/f10. What should I do in order to make the display brightness settings changable?
I am not able any longer to change the brigntness of the display via the known keys if the light sensor is deactivated.
If the light sensor is activated I can adjust the brightness but I do not like the sensor.
I can change the brightness without the sensor when I am in the BIOS and during windows is booting.
My system: Precision M4500 with Windows 7 Professional X64
.
The problem also occours with a fresh and pure Windows 7 Installation ..
Everything had been fine until I did some updates, can't remember if this occurred after a video driver update or a BIOS update.
But now the display brightness maxes out at about half. When I hit Fn + up arrow, it starts off at about half and the little meter does go up (the sunshine puts on his shades), but the display brightness doesn't change at all.
I tried everything I could but am not able to adjust the brightness of my laptop (i.e. HP 250 G2 Notebook).
