I have a dv6880se for about a year, excellent notebook, but Im experiencing the following problem:
First the specs:
O.S.: Windows 7 Ultimate
Nvidia drivers: 185.20 WHQL (already tried a lot of versions)
TV model: LCD Samsung 32 pol - ln32a550
GeForce 8400M GS
Working HDMI cable
HDMI ports tried: All of them, even renaming the AV port on TV settings to PC
- dv6880se detect TV correctly, but my TV keeps showing "No Signal", greying out the correct AV input (tried all the AV inputs), no matter what I do, pressing fn+f4, booting notebook with HDMI cable plugued, etc..
- If I plug my wifes Dell notebook with the same cable and TV everything works fine, AV input turn white and a very sharp image is displayed, as it should;
The weird thing:
- Since Ive "booted" the TV with the Dell notebook and it got signal, if I switch the cable to dv6880se the HDMI works fine, but if TV is turned off and on again, channel or current AV is changed the "No Signal" TV message is back...
Well, it dont seems to be a hardware fault in any component (dv6880se, TV, HDMI cable).
Anyone has seen this problem? Any dv6880se with this issue? Any tips on working driver version?
I've been having some problems hooking up my girlfriend's dv5 to our TV. It no longer plays audio over the HDMI connection.
I mostly use VLC player to play HD content and at first it worked, with some tweaking. I had to disable and enable the audio track in VLC and then it would play through the TV. Now, it no longer works. In the audio control panel, or whatever its called (Vista), it says the HDMI device is enabled, but nothing seems to be using it.
I have a friend that knows zilch about computers (I'm nearly right there with him)...and he wants to buy an LCD monitor but doesn't know which one to buy.
Before choosing a monitor, we decided we needed to know the output resolution of his HDMI connection correct?
I'm not sure about how I'm to go finding this....
He has an HP Pavilioin dv6 notebook...model number FY848AV. It seems to be a CTO...and I'm having a hardtime finding info.
How do I connect my laptop to my HD TV with a HDMI cable? I've tried all the suggested routes, checked the TV and cable, but still get a blank screen. Are there updates or drivers I need to install?
brand new hp pavilion 17e135nr window 8.1 tv is brand new 50inch visio.i know the cable is good (new) because my ps 3 works just fine so i unplugged the ps3 and hooked to the laptop to play a movie i down loaded and i selected HDMI 2 where the cable is hooked to on my tv, i get no input on the tv. so i win p and selected duplicate screen and i get nothing, no error messages , the movie starts and plays just fine on the laptop but tv says no input.. i didn't try to select second screen only it should play on both screens, I dont think the HDMI port is working at all.
When I first used the laptop sound would sometimes come through the HDMI to the TV. Now it never does. When I look at playback devices there is no HDMI playback, but only "Speaker/HP". I have gone into the DTS audio panel, which also only lists one playback device. I have also right clicked in playback devices to show all disabled or disconnected devices and there aren't any others.
Laptop speakers or speakers plugged into the jack work fine. The video on the HDMI connection also works fine.
So far I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and also uninstalled the realtek audio driver and installed the latest driver from HP's website.
None of this has caused sound to work through the HDMI or even an HDMI playback device to appear.
I have a laptop HP Pavilion g7. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHzGraphics Unit 1: AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series Graphics Unit 2:Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000All the driver has been updated weekenden-
My problem is that I do not get the picture up when I connect it to my Panasonic TV, both during display settings and sound can see my TV, but there No picture, have tried all display settings that are possible?but it works without problems on 32 "and 40" TV but not at 46 smart TV and my 50 "TV
I recently noticed my Pavilion dv7 entertainment notebook won't play sound through the tv anymore. The picture is on the tv but sound is running through the laptop speakers? I never had a problem with this until now. When i open up the sound options, the ATI HDMI output says it's not connected and so it wont let me select it, but it is connected?
I'm trying to connect my Pavilion dv6 to my HDTV using an HDMI cable. I'm getting video, but not audio from the TV speakers. The problem started after I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I had no problems with HDMI with windows Vista.
I've tried updating/reinstalling the audio drivers from HP's website, but it doesn't work. I've also tried going to the control panel and changing the playback device, but the HDMI audio device icon no longer appears in the playback devices dialogue box. The only playback devices are Speakers and Dual Headphones, Independent Dual Headphones, and SPDIF (Digital Out Via HP Dock.)
Why is the HDMI device not shown in the playback dialogue box?
So for a while now I've been using my laptop while it's plugged into my tv. But the parts of the screen are cut off (the top, left, right and bottom, which doesn't make sense since there is no reason to cut off all sides) I've seen guides telling you how to disable the overscan in the video card settings or in regedit but the thing is, I HAVE NO VIDEO CARD. The guides online assume you have one, but I don't my laptop is as plain as it gets. How can I disable the overscan (if possible)?
I have searched through my tv's settings but have found nohting even remotely related to overscan settings.I have a hp pavilion 15-n221sa running windows 8.1 and I'm trying to get the display to work on a samsung le46b650 tv.
I'm having an issue displaying a picture properly on my Vizio 720p 26" LCD via HDMI. No matter what resolution, the desktop extends beyond the border of the screen as my mouse will move past it into the area I can't see, and the screen doesn't scroll like it normally would in windows when the resolution is set too high. The NVIDIA control panel can't even get the 720p option to display properly.
My HP HDX 16 is connected via HDMI cable to my receiver. It output's video to my HDTV but audio comes out of my laptop. I want the audio to come out of my home theatre system.
when i connect my DV5T to my PANASONIC and LG tv via HDMI it show nothing, i open nvidia control panel, and no extra display is shown, so i have to unplug/plug the hdmi cord several times before the tv is listed....
I currently own a dv5-1235dx. The native resolution for this laptop is 1280x800. However, when I connect the HDMI cable to my laptop, the maximum resolution my display settings will allow is 1024x768. This makes it look awful on the TV, stretching a 4:3 display across a 16:9 screen.
I got Windows 7 ultimate installed on my laptop (did a clean install). I am trying to get output from my HDMI port to the TV but when I plug the cable in my laptop screen goes black and there is nothing showing on the tv.
I had nvidias latest driver, but it made my DV9774 fan run erratic most times. It came on for a second and off for 30 seconds, just while I was browsing the net. It was odd. It also ran full speed for a few minutes after boot, when it was clap cold.
So I went back to the older driver for now and the fan is fine.
The issue is, with nvidias latest driver that I removed there was a handy feature in the nvidia GeForce control panel in Display Properties that had big arrows on screen on my TV and sliders to resize the desktop so you can see the taskbars and start button, and nothing went off the edge.
Now with the older driver package that feature is gone....of course now when watching stuff via HDMI on my widecreen HDTV stuff goes off the edges and can't click on anything at the bottom, etc.
Is there an app or even anything from nvidia I can get to do the same thing, without installing the latest driver that caused my fan to do what it liked? If it was the driver at fault, it might have been anything in that whole latest pack I got from nvidia before, that made the fan act up.
I'm trying to connect my dv7t with the geforce 9600m to my hdtv via hdmi but the tv isn't picking up the signal. With my old dv9000, it recognized it right away and I didnt have to do anything. I can't check my control panel when I connect it because the laptop screen goes off and nothing else happens. I have dox's latest customized drivers if that matters.
I am just now getting around to using my DV5t that I purchased back in January. The system is still configured *exactly* as shipped from the factory.
One of the first things I wanted to do was to test its ability to play DVDs, etc when I am on the road, so I hooked it up to a 32" LCD TV via an HDMI cable. The display was recognized just fine, and I configured dual view with the LCD TV as the second monitor.
When I dropped a DVD in and fired up Windows Media Player and HP Quick Play, I realized that I needed to tell it to use the speakers on the TV instead of the internal speakers.
But when I went into the Sound control panel to make the change, the device "NVIDIA HDMI Output - NVIDIA HDMI Audio" showed as 'Not Plugged In' and the device only appeared when "show disconnected devices" was checked..........
After upgrade to 8.1 HDMI port didn't work. Followed instructions to correct BIOS and graphice driver; HDMI works - however Silverlight no longer working with DMS.
Get error 6036 in Silverlight which is Graphics device's driver certificate is invalid
Have checked graphics driver and is all up to date
Machine is HP Pavilion 11 x2 Graphics driver version 10.18.10.3366
I went to connect my wife's M1330 HDMI to my Sharp Aquos and nothing happens. I even tried the detect function and FN+8 and still nothing.
I tried every option in every control panel.
If I hook it up to a monitor hdmi to DVI, it works.
If I hook it up to the TV, it doesn't unless....I press FN+8 while vista is booting. Then I see vista booting on the TV. Once vista loads, it default back to the laptop screen and I can't choose to output to the TV.
Arrgghh
I even tried to update to a new intel graphics driver but stupid laptop says when I run the exe that it's not allowed or is unkown or something or if i manually upgrade the driver, it says i have the latest driver, which i don't.
Anyone have any insight to how to get HDMI working on this laptop?
I'm trying to decide between a HP 6930p (14.1") or 8530p (15.4"). I would prefer a 14 inch laptop. However, the 6930p only has a VGA port; the 8530p has an HDMI port. Probably 50% of the time its in use, it will be connected to a 24 inch display (a Dell 2408wfp).
I am concerned about the difference in picture quality between the VGA versus the digital connection? In practice, how much difference am I likely to notice? I will be using it mainly for office type work.
The port worked when i got the computer, its been two weeks now and when i plug in the hdmi cable into the port nothing happens. It doesnt show up on the tv and now im stumped,
I have a dv6500t computer. I recently bought a 23" lcd monitor (HP w2338h) to go with it. I was using the vga cable that came with it, which works perfectly fine. I then bought a link depot hdmi cable to use to connect my monitor. The cable works fine, but when I restart my computer (with the hdmi cable still plugged in) my computer brings up the blue screen that says my computer was shut down to prevent further damage. But when I take the hdmi cable out, this screen doesn't pop up and shut my computer off. Why does the hdmi cable do this?
I've been sitting here for hours trying to figure out how to get my tv to work with my hdmi port on my dv6700. No matter what I do the computer doesn't detect the tv, so I can't set it as a second monitor.
I've updated the nvidia drivers to no avail, I can't think of what else to try.
How can I get the exact resolution of 1360x768 (720p) in my HP dv2700 using the HDMI cabel? I currently have the 179.48 drivers installed and I couldnt figure a way to get a 1360x768 !? I tried using customs resolution but it wont work, the TV (samsung) keeps giving me a 1920x1080 which is not the native resolution.
I also own a desktop with an Nvidia 8800gt graphics card and it recognizes the 1360x768 resolution immediately, I dont why this is happening since both the laptop and desktop use similar drivers?
It comes with nVidia 7200 Go video card. Theoritically, nVidia video card could come with HDMI, but not always the case. So..how do I know if mine has one? I am actually looking for eSata port since I want to purchase an external HD for backup purpose.
I got my dv6500t with an 8400GS card to output to my 1080p HDTV but the problem is that the image that displays on the TV is only 90% of the full image as shown on my laptop.
This is via HDMI.
I'd like the images on both laptop and HDTV to match perfectly and I've tried every combination of resolution between the TV and the laptop yet I always get the same result: a fully displayed desktop on my laptop and a cropped desktop on my HDTV.
