HP Pavilion Dv6000 OS/Software :: Can't Get More Drivers?
Sep 14, 2014
I reloaded Windows XP in this HP Pavilion dv6000..Windows XP Media center edition 2005. P/N RG380UA#ABA.I downloaded and ran all of the drivers that were listed for it.There are at least 10 items in the device manager with no drivers.Neither the wireless or the Ethernet are working so I can’t get online. Can I get more drivers? Can I buy the original software package?
hp pavilion dv600. when u press the power button it will sometimes restart three times before displaying the hp start up logo and sometime it starts fine it does the same thing even if the hdd is out or cd drive is out or if the battery is out or if the RAM is out?
problems: no wireless, hard time starting up, sound crashes, system freezes when updating things(can only use for 30min before it crashes), can only start it when it's cooled off, usually just restarts itself when the hd light doesn't come on(you know[power][charging][reading hd])
The no wireless and sound crashes were my first problems, then the system melted down. I bought it used off craigslist Christmas 2008 and any warranty time was long gone when it crashed Halloween 2009.
I know I can add 1G more RAM to my HP dv6000 laptop which Currently has 1 gig RAM to give a total of 2 G. But since I upgraded the operating system from Vista to Windows 7 with SP1 64 bit , 1.6 ghz, can I add even more to achieve a total of 3 G or 4 G?  It looks like the limiting factor is the 1.6 ghz speed.
I have an older HP Pavilion DV6000 with 4GB RAM (upgraded from 2GB RAM).   However, only 2.69GB are useable.  It was suggested that I upgrade the BIOS and turn on memory "remapping".   The OS is Win7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.  l'm having a problem finding the right BIOS to upgrade.  Currently the BIOS version is F.3D Processor is: AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80Ghz Product ID: 00359-062-3478866-85570  My new software needs more RAM to run.
I know that the dv6000 is one of the worst laptops but I still tried to repair it and got a new motherboard.
Initial problem: fried motherboard.
Got a refurb one off ebay now my issues is as following:
Press the on power button, fan spins for 2 seconds and computer remains on with no boot posting. Hard drive light is OFF and I can't hear the harddrive but I don't think it is the hd because I should still be able to access the bios and monitor should still light on. screen doesn't display anything. cd drive works and when I put a cd such as a windows disc you will hear it work for a couple minutes.
I tried everything from resetting the power cycle, removed the memory, harddrive, connected an external monitor, changed the little battery inside the motherboard. all power cables and ribbons are connected. keyboard won't respond though (fn light wont light on and ctrl alt delete produces nothing) ! I hate HP. after opening the computer I realzied what a piece of junk.
HP has identified a hardware issue with certain HP Pavilion dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 and Compaq Presario V3000/V6000 series notebook Read more at their site[url]
I had put the link in another thread; But i didnt include the series numbers of those affected.I ran the #'s in this sites search engine and came up nill .So now its "out there",.
My computer freezes all the time. Everytime i turn it on it runs about 5-10 min and then it freezes. The screen is not black and I can still move the mouse but I can't press on any icons or do anything. I have tried to scan the computer for virus and run other test, but usually the computer freezes before it is done.
After playing a game my screen remained stretched, horizontally stretched out. Normally my screen went back to normal after closing the game(Rollercoaster Tycoon 3), but this time it somehow got stuck or something. I checked the resolution: it's 1024x768 like it always was, so that's not the problem. When I "print screen", the image is just normal on other computers, so I think it may be the driver? Do I have to download NVIDIA Driver? I tried that, but it says the driver is not compatible with my hardware.
I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 notebook with a hard drive that is partitioned. Â One partition contains the recovery program, which will install Windows XP should I ever need it to do so. Â I have recently installed Windows 7 on the other partition, and believe it would make sense to install Windows 7 on the recovery partition, so that if it is ever needed, it would reinstall Windows 7 rather than Windows XP. Â How can I accomplish this?
I recently bought this laptop from a friend and it has a bios lock I tried different codes off the site but now it says system disabled with this code [09310] ... I don't know what to do.
My laptop shows me a blank screen after the windows bar loading screen. It did an automatic test on my hard drive to fix files, but when I restarted, it still would keep doing this test. I've tried to use a Windows Vista Upgrade/Recovery, but there is no backup and it keeps giving me an error on all types of restoration. I have just tried the Hard Disk Self Test and it says that there is an error #1 - 04 Fail. From what I've read in the forums, I will likely have to replace the hard drive, but how to recover the files from the old drive and what kind of drive I need to replace.
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and run Windows Visa Home Edition.I wanted to restore my laptop to its factory settings but the Recovery Manager wouldn't work. When I clicked on it it would just restart the computer without anything else happening. I then right clicked on the computer >manage> disk manager and made the recovery partition active. When I rebooted the computer it began showing:Bootmgr is missingPress Ctrl+Alt+DeleteWhich of course leads back to the same message after te computer reboots. I can't access F8 key. Only F10 (Bios) works. I don't have a recovery or installation CD as it didn't come with the laptop when I purchased it.Is there anyway I can change the active partition back to the C drive, this disabling the recovery partition? I read that it was possible to access disk manager from cmd prompt window, but I don't know how to access it since the F8 key won't work (makes just a bipping noise when pressed)?I am also out of the country so can't mail my laptop to HP to have it fixed.
I am trying to do a Facotry Image Recovery with a CD and  the system has been stuck at 74% with 13 minutes remaining for over an hour now. I have a Pavilion DV6000 with Vista Home Premium.
I am so tired of receiving Low Disk Space on recovery (D). I have done everything it asked. Empty Recycle Bin which is EMPTY. I am not a computer wizard but it seems unfair that I have pay over $150.00 year to correct this problem once a year. I have checked a lot of places and it just keeps telling me the same thing. That doesn't work. Â I did just install a HP wireless printer 3052A Â Â HP Pavilion dv6000 Windows Vista (home version)
Just reformatted my friend's old HP Pavilion ze2000. Installed windows XP professional onto it. However, running into some problems with the driver installation.
I've been using this site: [url] in order to download drivers.
However, some of them do not work with her laptop!
The wireless card and synaptics touchpad drivers work fine.
The processor, display and audio drivers are NOT working.
I'm troubled because the graphics driver on the website is intel, but there's an AMD processor inside her laptop, I do not understand why the driver is made by intel but the processor is AMD. Unless it's a mistake on the HP website?
Once the audio driver installs, it just states the result as FAILURE. Not much other information provided here.
I Upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 7, but the site only provides drivers for windows 8/8.1. Â I tried looking at the device manager, but it doesn't specify which type of USB 3.0 it uses. Â
I recently reinstalled windows 7 (64 bit) on my pavilion dv6-6135dx.Problem is the system can't find drivers for the PCI device, SM Bus Controller, and two USB controllers. The yellow exclamation sign shows up next to them in device manager.Out of the 4 USB ports I have, only the two on the right side work.  Hardware Ids: PCI Device: PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_358D103C&REV_01PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_358D103CPCIVEN_10EC &DEV_5209&CC_FF0000PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00
I've just had to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my HP Pavilion DV6 6024TX notebook.  I've installed all the Recommended and Optional Windows updates and everything is working *except* the SM Bus Controller and USB Controller - which are both showing yellow exclamation marks in the device manager.  I've looked at the forums and it's clear I need to install some new drivers, but I'm not 100% sure *which* drivers to install.  I know this model contains *both* an AMD Radeon 6770M graphics accelerator *and* onboard Intel HD graphics - and it's meant to be switchable between the two, depending on the power profile it's using.  I've looked for the latest drivers on the AMD website and they *don't* support switchable graphics - see:
[URL]  This AMD support article refers me back to the HP site for the best drivers:[URL]  So, I've looked at the HP driver download page for this model, and there are a few options: [URL]
I downgraded my OS to Windows 7 (64-bit) from Windows 8. Here is a pic of the drivers I am having trouble finding. Windows can not seem to find them when I select Update Drivers. Â HP Pavilion G6 Notebook PN: C2N64US#ABA MN: G6-2211NR (G6-2200 series I beleive) OS: Windows 7 64-bit
I can't find the drivers for my laptop HP Pavilion g6-2337sr for Windows 7. What drivers will be OK for it? I mean, what types or names, how can I find them?
I have HP Pavilion G6-2301ax recently i upgraded from windows 8 to windows 8.1 and there is no proper drivers for graphics and Wi-Fi.So can you update the drivers which is fully supported. The games never used to lag in windows 8 but it is stuttering in windows 8.1. Can you update to latest catalyst version for this laptop?
i have an unknown devices in my device manager on my laptop The laptop is hp pavilion 17-F100NM,K1Q19EA Â 1. device hardware id:USBVID_0BDA&PID_B001&REV_0200 2. device hardware id:ACPIVEN_HPQ&DEV_6001
