What difference in temperetures and performance could I expect?
I have a Presario V6000 and i love it, but just recently ive started to get vertical lines on my LCD. so far there are 4 groups, maybe 3-4 pixles wide that run the length of the monitor. I've priced out new monitors at around $100, but my concern is: is it the LCD going bad or is it the signal cable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq Presario V6700 Notebook, with Realtek high-def audio running OS Vista Home premium.
I purchaced in July 08 and no problems at all with it until Feb 09.
In Feb my sound stopped working from the internal speakers. I tried updating and reinstalling drivers for the sound (used correct drivers from Compaq website) and it still didn't work so I have just used the headphones in the past two months.
I am now in a situation where I need the internal speakers to work, so I have tried updating/reinstalling the drivers again and no go. After doing some more research I have tried doing a system restore to before the issue began in Feb and still no sound.
I then did a complete restore back to scratch so I had a fresh new OS and STILL no sound from internal speakers.
I'm trying to help my ex GF out here with her laptop and playing WoW on it.
for starters, her system is as follows:
Vista Home Premium 32-bit
2gb DDRII 667 ( 2x 1gb )
MK-36 2ghz 512k L2 single coe
Geforce Go 6150 ( default vista drivers via win update )
I know she plays the new expansion with all the updates but don't ask me what that all is cause I treat WoW like the plague so Idk.
The problem she says she's having is lines or missing textures in certain areas. At first I thoguth it might be a lack of ram or bad ram as she had the orig 2x 512mb modules so I got her the 2gb kit and she said it made the machine faster but didn't fix the glitches.
My friend has a dv9000 laptop, and gpu on motherboard is dead, so he has to replace whole motherboard. I was looking through ebay and i found one silly thing, i can see that some motherboards are used for DV6000 series and also for dv9000. For instance 441534-001 motherboard can be replaced and used on bought laptops. So my question is are all motherboards replacable or just few of them as one mentioned above? We were thinking of buying one with intel cpu, cause now he has AMD.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a dv9000 about two years ago and recently the motherboard died. Since I'm not exactly rich at the moment I haven't bought a new laptop, but instead my father gave me his dv6286 because choose to upgrade.
But the geforce 7200 in the dv6268 isn’t any good for gaming, so I though if it was possible to take my geforce 7600 from the dv9000 and put it in the dv6286.

I have been given a laptop to fix.hp pavilion dv2000 when i turn it on the power comes on. But the screen remains black. I have no idea what the problem is as of yet.. Don't know if its screen issues or hardware issues i dont get any beeps or anything. I took out the ram used one stick no luck. So i open it up a bit the power strip bar with the LED the wire was cut. So that was getting no power. All wires for the screen/mirco webcam were plugged in. Went to turn on the laptop and walked away. A minute or two later come back and laptop is not past the BIOS, and a screen talking about a laptop being ran until the battery drained last time it was on. I didn't get a chance to finish reading the screen because the laptop restarted. Nothing shows up on the screen after the restart. I was running off the AC adapter when this happened.
Situation now is pressing the power button causes the power button, media quick play bar. Power notification light , light above mouse pad and the wireless slider to light up. If the AC adapter is plugged in the charge light will light as well.
I also hear a fan and i think the HDD. The HDD light doesn't light though. Nothing will show on the screen. stays black. I have tried powering it with AC adapter only, charged battery only, and with a charged battery and AC adapter.
what type of memory is compatible with my girlfriend's hp dv2000 laptop?

The 5400 is just the max speed it runs at, so it would be ok if it wast the 5300 like the stock hp has?
hp pavilion dv600. when u press the power button it will sometimes restart three times before displaying the hp start up logo and sometime it starts fine it does the same thing even if the hdd is out or cd drive is out or if the battery is out or if the RAM is out?

problems:
no wireless, hard time starting up, sound crashes, system freezes when updating things(can only use for 30min before it crashes), can only start it when it's cooled off, usually just restarts itself when the hd light doesn't come on(you know[power][charging][reading hd])
The no wireless and sound crashes were my first problems, then the system melted down. I bought it used off craigslist Christmas 2008 and any warranty time was long gone when it crashed Halloween 2009.
i have an hp pavilion dv9000 that keeps crashing. most of the time when i move it from my lap and reach under the left side (hard drive cover) i get a mild shock through holes in cover.
View 5 Replies View RelatedBasic problem, laptop gets so hot at times it can cause burn marks. While playing WoW, ill get 60+ FPS then as soon as it heats up, yes im using a cooling pad, it then drops to 15 FPS and will run at that for the entire time im playing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhile playing WoW the FPS is from 15-65. When it cools off, ill get a great FPS and can play it fine but it will quickly heat up and drop for 20-30 minutes at a time. Right now im using a cooling pad but it doesnt help much at all except to give me that 45-60 FPS time for about 5 minutes. The bottom gets so hot at times it can literally burn my skin, I have a couple of marks to prove it.

Initial problem: fried motherboard.
Got a refurb one off ebay now my issues is as following:
Press the on power button, fan spins for 2 seconds and computer remains on with no boot posting. Hard drive light is OFF and I can't hear the harddrive but I don't think it is the hd because I should still be able to access the bios and monitor should still light on. screen doesn't display anything. cd drive works and when I put a cd such as a windows disc you will hear it work for a couple minutes.
I tried everything from resetting the power cycle, removed the memory, harddrive, connected an external monitor, changed the little battery inside the motherboard. all power cables and ribbons are connected. keyboard won't respond though (fn light wont light on and ctrl alt delete produces nothing) ! I hate HP. after opening the computer I realzied what a piece of junk.
a disassembly guide for the compaq v6000? I think I need to clean it out...

It's a 2 year old Compaq Presario V6000TX CTO Notebook PC (GQ362AV). There is no visible sign of damage anywhere on the exterior of the laptop or battery. I custom ordered my laptop direct from compaq and luckly I did not get the bad battery.
Bought an usb enclosure for the HD.. currently backing it up to my other external HD via my dad's computer..
From what I've read these heatsinks are notorious for causing a gap and overheating the chip..
which new 15 inches laptop replaces compaq v6000 I am not talking about HP dv6000 I know both are same but different cpu and graphic card.

P/N RG380UA#ABA.I downloaded and ran all of the drivers that were listed for it.There are at least 10 items in the device manager with no drivers.Neither the wireless or the Ethernet are working so I can’t get online.Can I get more drivers?
