HP Pavilion Dv6000 OS/Software :: Bios Update For Windows 7
Sep 14, 2014
I have an older HP Pavilion DV6000 with 4GB RAM (upgraded from 2GB RAM). However, only 2.69GB are useable. It was suggested that I upgrade the BIOS and turn on memory "remapping". The OS is Win7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.
l'm having a problem finding the right BIOS to upgrade.
Currently the BIOS version is F.3D
Processor is: AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80Ghz
Product ID: 00359-062-3478866-85570
I recently bought this laptop from a friend and it has a bios lock I tried different codes off the site but now it says system disabled with this code [09310] ... I don't know what to do.
I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 notebook with a hard drive that is partitioned. One partition contains the recovery program, which will install Windows XP should I ever need it to do so. I have recently installed Windows 7 on the other partition, and believe it would make sense to install Windows 7 on the recovery partition, so that if it is ever needed, it would reinstall Windows 7 rather than Windows XP. How can I accomplish this?
My laptop shows me a blank screen after the windows bar loading screen. It did an automatic test on my hard drive to fix files, but when I restarted, it still would keep doing this test. I've tried to use a Windows Vista Upgrade/Recovery, but there is no backup and it keeps giving me an error on all types of restoration. I have just tried the Hard Disk Self Test and it says that there is an error #1 - 04 Fail. From what I've read in the forums, I will likely have to replace the hard drive, but how to recover the files from the old drive and what kind of drive I need to replace.
I have an HP Pavilion dm4 that I bought last summer, but I'm not sure which model #s specifically comes after that.
I just updated my HP BIOS and now I am not getting any sound from the speakers or through headphones, this has happened before though I admittedly cannot remember what the solution was.
BTW I downloaded the bios of dv6880ev. Why the heck is the laptop model dv6700 and service tag is dv6880ev?!!?!
I start the laptop up and it freezes at the HP logo screen. Only the ESC key works (Press <ESC> to enable startup message) if i press it fast enough and if i push the F10(BIOS SETUP) key it just hangs at "Please Wait"

How it started: I updated the bios of my Laptop from Version F.57 to F.58(Latest). After the laptop shutdown, I immediatly turned it back on. Maybe its because i didn't give it a few seconds to power on by itself?
What I already tried:
-Removing CMOS, ram, HDD wait half an hour and power on again. -This guide which does not work because HDD is formatted: Recovering the notebook BIOS using a key press combination -The Phoenix tool procedure found here
How to use the HP BIOS update (uefi) utility
What I want to try but don't know how!
-Creating a new partition on the hard disk(HP_TOOLS) to trick the system that I have the old BIOS and maybe recover using the WIN+B combination?
I have a hp pavilion dv5-1170ei and it had problems with the audio and the quick launch buttons after upgrading to Win 7. I decided to update the bios because that was the only thing that i had not updated. Now the computer is frozen with the BIOS update still running. I once had the same problem with a dv5-1199ei and it worked fine after upgrading the BIOS. By the way i upgraded from Vista Home premium to Win 7 Ultimate.
I have a Pavilion dv6-1050us and prior to updating the bios as recommended by HP my charger would show both in the taskbar as the battery was charging and it was plugged in as well as on the led on the front left of the notebook. Since the update of the bios the charging icon in the taskbar no longer shows and the led light that shows the battery is charging no longer lights up. I know there is power going to the battery because the battery shows 100% remaining and will only discharge after I unplug the power supply. Is there a way to restore the bios to the previous verion even though the bios was flashed by the program HP uses? My antivirus program will not do it's weekly scan when the system thinks it's running on battery power. I must manually start the scan myself.
I need to update my Pavilion laptop BIOS. I try to update by downloading driver (SP50879) but when I run this package, on Insyde Flash v4.0.0 form, I have an error : CE file Size input error! my windows is 8.1 64bit.
System: HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr Notebook PC Product#: FR922UAR#AB System Board Id: 30F7 BIOS Version (before update): F.12 OS: Windows 7
I tried to upgrade the BIOS to F.55 which was provided by HP. After successfull installation of new BIOS windows shutdown properly. I start the PC again, HP Logo appears, and then nothing happen. The OS does not load or boot at all.
I also tried to boot using Windows 98 Second Edition CD (to load DOS) but this also did not work.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6154tx laptop. My current version of BIOS installed is Hewlett-Packard F.1B, 05/10/11.I wanted to check if my BIOS is up to date, and if there was a newer version of BIOS available.
So I went to the HP Support page for laptops (URL...) and chose Pavilion Notebooks > Models dv4000 to dv6999 > dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC series > Matching products outside the United States.
But alas, I could not find my laptop's model listed there. There's dv6150tx and then it jumps to dv6161ea, but no dv6154tx. Is there any other way I can update my laptop's BIOS?
How to update recent versions of BIOS using USB? I checked MANY pages regarding this. But they all refer to BIOS distributed in different formats, and does not work for me.
The BIOS file, sp66897.exe (latest version, F.39) and sp60266.exe (previous version known to work, F.34) , contain the following files 01837.fdFlsHook.exe FlsHookDll.dllFWUpdLcl.exeInsydeFlash.exeiscflash.dlliscflash.sysiscflashx64.sysplatform.inixerces-c_2_7.dll
There is no .BIN for .SIG files.I copied all files to USB drive, renamed the drive HP_TOOLS, plug into the Notebook, and copy 01837.fd to all different names appeared in other pages, plug in the USB and power on with Windows Key + B down. End result was a black screen and blinking Caps Lock LED.
Is it possible to update recent BIOS from USB? Or can I update in Ubuntu / WinPE or other bootable device? I took the notebook to repair in HP service center. Because I needed to use the harddisk (formatted with GPT), I requested to removed the harddisk and HP engineer did so. After repair, the notebook said something like 'no bootable device ...'. It's found that the BIOS was DOWNGRADED to F.17 (originally F.34), which did not support GPT.
Therefore, I need to update the BIOS and any method requiring local harddisk is not usable. The harddisk quick test could run in BIOS. This means the hardware is OK. But the notebook does not know how to boot from the disk.
I have a Lenovo Z500 notebook and I would like to know if is it safe to run 1.21 BIOS update for Windows 8 on Windows 8.1 64bit? I have a problem with Fn keys and in my current BIOS (1.10) there are no option for it.
I want to upgrade my BIOS, but there is no update available for bios in windows 8.1.. My Bios version is 1.18, I want to update because i read somewhere that if your fan make noise make sure you have updated BIOS :A.. I want to know if I can install "BIOS update for win 8" in my lenovo t410 with windows 8.1..

Simply put I went to update the bios on my notebook as I have previously without incident. Well this time the update downloaded, installed and powered down Windows Vista 64bit SP1. After that nothing! The power lights come on but that is it. No HP Screen, No MSFT Screen no nothing. I honestly think this is a bios update caused by HP's own update.
I have a Pavilion dv7-6b78us laptop running Windows 7 64 bit, and am unable to run windows update.
First I was getting HP Connection Manager error messages. All the message said was to check the event view to see the problem. Which, as a lay person, did not tell me what the problem was. Then I noticed that I was not getting any windows updates on this PC when my other PC was. After doing some research, I uninstalled HP Connection Manager, but this did not fix my windows update problem. I have tried running Windows Update manually from Administrative Tools but it will not start. The error message pointed to a service named Background Intelligence Transfer Service which was not running. I tried to manually start that as well and got the following message:
"Windows could not start the Background Intelligent Transfer Service on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code -2147014790."
Updated pc to Windows 8.1 today and now have no sound at all and the pc says no headphones or speakers are plugged in and detection finds no problem and also the AMD 'properties' say sevice is working properly (I have no back drivers to revert back to liste)

I am using hp 15d017tu notebook .This notebook comes with free dos but i install it to windows 8 pro, now I wanna install windows 8.1 pro in my notebook to update my windows update Is it possible?
Today, somebody (without my permission) updated my laptop from windows 8.0 to 8.1. Later I found out that this person didn't make the, according to the HP supportpage, necessary preparations. HP warns that my laptop now can get problems, like a blank screen, loss of internet connectivity and disabled hardwaredevices. I bought my laptop about 1 year ago. It's a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC 64-bit.
my question is, it is safe to update the BIOS from inside the Windows 8? I am ask because in the past my previous laptop, burned the motherboard of the laptop, because the bios update through the windows it was failed.
After updating to brand new BIOS from Jan. 19th I cannot boot anymore into Windows 8.1 - always get INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Tried to repair using a Windows 8.1 USB Stick, no success. Even downgrading to 1.08 did not work as well!
I have an HP Pavilion g6. I can't update to windows 8.1 after download it by windows store, it reboot pc and after that give me this error: 0xC1900101 - 0x20020017.
My Bluetooth is not working since I update to Windows 8.1. I tried everything. Not working. Driver error. I test through a driver scanner. It days I needed Ralink Bluetooth PCIe Adapter version 2.9.27.0 .. Where can I get it?
Yesterday, I saw on the Lenovo System Update app, that I had couple critical and optional updates. These were the updates:
WER Patch Lenovo Comm Utility Lenovo Power Management Driver ThinkPad Power Manager Intel WLAN Driver BIOS 2.60.1.14
There were couple updates on the Windows Side. I ran all of them in one session so I can't really say if windows messed up something or the System Update is responsible but since yesterday I can no longer shutdown my x230t i7 Win 7 Pro. I closes the desktop and then it gets to the screen where you'll see a spinning wheel and the words "Shutting Down":
But it will hang there forever and never actually shuts down. I have to press and hold down power button to shutdown.
hp pavilion dv600. when u press the power button it will sometimes restart three times before displaying the hp start up logo and sometime it starts fine it does the same thing even if the hdd is out or cd drive is out or if the battery is out or if the RAM is out?
I recently Upgraded my Laptop to windows 8.1. Before i was using Windows 8, in that i used Bluetooth to send files. But after upgrading to windows 8.1 Bluetooth is not working at all.
