HP Pavilion Dv9000 OS/Software :: System Running Vista Keeps On Crashing
Apr 27, 2014
My Hp pavilion dv9000 is running Windows vista and I normaly keep the laptop in hibernation mode and when I turn it back on it does it normal stuff then it doesn't go to the login screen and it goes to the home screen but doesn't show anything. Then it switches of the whole Laptop! I think it is a OS problem.
i have an hp pavilion dv9000 that keeps crashing. most of the time when i move it from my lap and reach under the left side (hard drive cover) i get a mild shock through holes in cover.
HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC 15-n004TX. It came with ubuntu. 1 GB Radeon grphics card. I reinstalled ubuntu 14.04 formatted disk completely.
After installation, when rebooted, it gives error: "The system is running in low graphics mode. Your screen, graphics card and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself."
And then runs in character user interface, and does not detect usb, so i can't install drivers.
I have tried installing ubuntu 12.04 also. I have tried installing in legacy mode. I have tried OEM Manufacturer mode.
In all the cases same thing happens. I want to use my computer.
MY laptop is a HP Pavillion dv5 1223TX, I was having issues so I did a factory reset via recovery manager, I have installed as many Windows updates as it has allowed, I am trying to download software that I was using before reset, like iTunes, Java etc, but I keep getting an error 'The windows installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed' I have tried various downloads to rectify this but to no avail.
I have a Pavilion dv7t laptop running Vista. One of the main reasons I bought this was to do audio work in Sony Acid Music and Sony Sound Forge. Well, lo and behold, I can't hear my mic input. I can record audio in using the mic input, but I can't monitor the input as I am using it to know whether it is too loud, too quiet, I am too close to the mic, too far away, etc.
I have done a lot of research on this via google searches and have found that most people solved this (on other laptops or other computers running Vista) by changing the input monitor setting (to enable it) within the windows registry. I dug all through various locations in my reg files and can't find anything on an HP Pavilion dv7t running Vista that corresponds with an input monitor setting.
This is a huge source of frustration. If anyone can let me know how to enable this, I would appreciate it. It's not a matter of right clicking on the speaker in the windows tray and changing anything on playback devices or recording devices. I have tried every possible combination of that and it doesn't work. This is something that needs to be fixed at a root level.
Why HP or Microsoft has this set as a default setting so you can't even monitor your input volume is beyond me.
I was just checking my wife's older HP Pavilion dv9628nr running Vista Home Premium with 2 HDD's. I didn't even know it had 2 HDD's. I opened the case to make sure.
Below is a screenshot of Disk Management for this system. I have some questions:
I am using a dv9000 with vista ultimate sp2 and a speedtouch 330 (rubbish i know)... I have got the speedtouch working, using the new vista drivers, and can get the max connection speed available to me. However, this is only when the laptop is unplugged...
As soon as i plug the laptop in, the connection dies and I have to reconnect. And... when I reconnect with the laptop plugged in I only get a third of my availably connection speed? This leads me to think that there is something up with the usb ports on the dv9000 and that the laptop is not powering them properly when its plugged in...
The Windows Vista OS on my dv9000 Laptop has been shut down by Microsoft citing an expired Licence. This is preinstalled OS by HP. How can I get my OS reinstated without buying a new one?
I have a HP Pavilion dv5 laptop which is just over a year oldand seems to have developed a serious display problem since I bought it.
I have only started using the HDMI port on this model since around october and notice I often get a terrible bug when using it.
i can be watching somethin gon a monitor via hdmi or simply have something connected to it and at random the screens (laptop and external) flicker on and off. I get the popup speech bubble style error in the taskbar saying a "Device Driver has Stopped Working"
Sometimes it recovers but most of the time the screen crashes as does any audio or anything else playing and a scattered mixed up mess of a screen gets locked into view. The only thing i can do then is restart the device.

I dont know how or what driver I need to replace or how to fix this.

HP Pavilion dv7-6175us notebook pc, Windows 7 64 bit I haven't made any major changes, no new software or hardware installed (just the usual gazillion updates for every **bleep** program and operating system) I have tried uninstalling and re-installing HP support assistant several times, but still keep getting the same error message, something about HPSA.exe encountering a fatal error, yadda yadda yadda, end of the world everyone run screaming into the streets.
i have notebook dv9000 and works so fine and then today i try to turn on notebook and just show me the led power and then after a few sec turn off every thing.
I bought new HP Pavilion 17-f001sm Notebook PC (Windows 8.1 x64), it worked perfectly for 3 days, and 4th day it crashed randomly while i was watching some video, from then it constantly crashes.
Sometimes its black or blue screen, sometimes it just freezes or restars itself, and once i got ''KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOTHANDLED'' message. Also my Dics usage was 80%-100% until i deleted McAfee.
All drivers are ''up to date'', have 2 coolers under it so it constantly low temperature, McAfee didn't registered any viruses, even tried to reboot it but it continued to crash.
Basic problem, laptop gets so hot at times it can cause burn marks. While playing WoW, ill get 60+ FPS then as soon as it heats up, yes im using a cooling pad, it then drops to 15 FPS and will run at that for the entire time im playing.
While playing WoW the FPS is from 15-65. When it cools off, ill get a great FPS and can play it fine but it will quickly heat up and drop for 20-30 minutes at a time. Right now im using a cooling pad but it doesnt help much at all except to give me that 45-60 FPS time for about 5 minutes. The bottom gets so hot at times it can literally burn my skin, I have a couple of marks to prove it.
My Pavilion dv9000 screen is black. I know the graphics card is faulty, what are my options to get this replaced. If I purchase and replace the motherboard will I get this same problem later down the road.
I have the DV9000 series Laptop. It is the DV9235NR model (but not the DV9200 series...shows DV9000 on the bottom).
Anyways...I decided to try to upgrade the interal wireless G with a wireless N card that is from HP. It has the HP part number and everything. When I put the card in, this error comes up. I read that the bios doesn't recongnize the card. I took the card out, booted up to Windows with my old wireless card, put the computer in sleep mode, took out the old card and put the new card in. Works perfect. I know the card it good.
How can I make the new card work without having to do this? I heard about a bios hack. How is this done? Could I modify the Wifi card also? I did update to the newest bios on my laptop (dated 2008) and that didn't work. How about a bios from another series laptop?
HP has identified a hardware issue with certain HP Pavilion dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 and Compaq Presario V3000/V6000 series notebook Read more at their site[url]
I had put the link in another thread; But i didnt include the series numbers of those affected.I ran the #'s in this sites search engine and came up nill .So now its "out there",.
On my Pavilion dv6, a file (mobogenie/nengenie.dll) belonging to the Windows 7 system has been blocked by the anti virus/malware programn due to malware infection of this file. That is as it should be. However, pc peformance has been decreased (resources run out after 1 hrs use, lagging) as a result. What do I do? Do I have to recover Windows 7 or have clean up of my hard disc, and how?
I have a Lenovo P580 that I put a Samsung Evo 840 SSD in. The system seems to always run hot, the fan runs high and I'm not sure why.
Right now the at 205 degrees, the moterhboard at 209 degrees, and the SSD at 133 degrees.
I leave the laptop on most of te time, but during the night when t is idel, it still runs hot and the fan runs loud. I'm using anywhere between 60-100% of my CPU, and the major programs sucking resources are MS Security Essentials, OneDrive, and CrashPlan.
I do have an external hard drive attached for extra data storage. Is the system jacked up? The laptop sits on a desk all day, so there is no issues with exhaust.
how many people are running Windows 7 and/or Windows Vista on their MBP?
How's the performance of Windows on MBP through bootcamp? Any compatibility issue? I have a few software for PC (i.e.: Nikon Capture NX2, Lightroom, Photoshop CS4, etc.,) and would prefer to run it on Windows w/o having to rebuy it.
Mainly would use the laptop for those purposes, but MBP has that cool factor vs PC laptops heehhe
I might use it occasionally for games (i.e. WOW). Ofcourse surfing the internet on OSX is not an issue.
so i have a hp 3125 base model notebook and want to install win 7 x64 in uefi file system to have ipv6 connectivity Butler dont know how to make my usb show up in boot manager menú while legacy disabled, as well as the security boot thing
Thinking about getting a 15" MBP for the great hardware design and ability to still run whatever OS I choose. Not an Apple "fanboy," so to speak, but I appreciate the design (and ~7-hour battery life).
Unless I can get Evernote up and running the way I like, I'll need to use Microsoft OneNote quite a bit. My question is this -- given that I've never worked with OS virtualization / VMs before, just how seamless is VirtualBox running any given Windows operating system with Office running inside of that? Would my OneNote notebooks just be saved somewhere in my home directory in OS X, readily accessible for backups and the like?
It still did not solve the issues with my USB ports. I have noticed that the exclamation mark is no longer there but still all my USB ports are still not working.
I was just wondering if any of you have had any experiance with this. I feel the need to upgrade, as i have 4gb of ram and the ati graphics card, which means on 32bit, i can't use all my ram .....
I have been playing Crysis on my laptop and it ran fine under XP with medium settings. After upgrading to Vista 32 and continuing my game it's running like a turd.
I come out from the Core section to where you are on the mountain covered in snow and the performance is so bad that it's virtually unplayable.
Anyone else had any issues? I need to know what the best drivers are to use and also the best setting in Crysis to get the most out of the game.
I've been trying to get Vista Ultimate to run on my laptop for a while now, and every time I install using a clean installation, it runs painfully slow. If i have more than one window open its not even worth using. So I always run back to XP and I'll be honest in saying that I'm quite bored with it.
how to make it run better with Aero?
My Laptop's Specs Are Brand: Acer Extensa 4220 CPU: Intel Celeron CPU 560 - 2.13GHz RAM: 1GB DDR2 Graphics: Moblie Intel GMA X3100
My cpu temps at idle according to HWMonitor are 70c for vista and in ubuntu using gkrellm they are around 60c.....why are they so hot? its on a wood surface + underclocked to 1v....
I'm trying to upgrade my friend's laptop's BIOS from A06. Using the latest BIOS upgrade A32, the utility says 'Running on an unsupported system. I thinks it's looking for the vendor ID to be 'Dell Computer Corporation' instead of 'PHEONIX TECHNOLOGIES INC.'
Tried using the '/forceit' option without any success.
