On my Pavilion dv6, a file (mobogenie/nengenie.dll) belonging to the Windows 7 system has been blocked by the anti virus/malware programn due to malware infection of this file. That is as it should be. However, pc peformance has been decreased (resources run out after 1 hrs use, lagging) as a result. What do I do? Do I have to recover Windows 7 or have clean up of my hard disc, and how?

I also followed the steps for recovery, but failed. How? I put window DVD and restart it, after performing the initial steps, On the Install screen I click "Recovery option". I got the message the I have Window 7 Installed. After clicking next, it says that the window resovery option is not compatable with window. What to do in this case. I install this window in my home country now i am in China, where every window product is in Chinese. Second I have much more research data any i do not wish clean format in any case.
I just purchased a new Pavilion m7-1015dx Laptop and need to make the System Recovery Discs ... (which I realize restores the Laptop to factory default).. btw, I've already created the System Repair Disc.
However, I read an article about creating a System Backup Image that allows you to Recovery EVERYTHING if lost, all your installed programs, etc.
First Question ::: if I do the System Backup IMAGE ... Do I still need to create the System Recovery disc's (mfg's default) also??
The Second Question ::: If I create the System Recovery discs do I still need that Recovery Partition ??
I am really really wanting to partition my C: drive ... it's huge plus I hate seeing storage folders intermingled with system folders .. Currently using a Symbol/Character to separate them.
As of now, I can't partition the C:drive as all partitions are used.. max is 4 and I've got 4 .... C:drive, System Partition, HPTools Partition, and Recovery Partition.

I can access all the features, but the Empowering Button doesnt function anymore.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5535.
I have an acer M3 581T which I bought about a year ago. Now, windows crashed and said there was a file missing. I am no longer able to boot up the system, I've tried the erecovery (alt f10) but it just proceeds and says it's not able to boot. I have no recovery cd/usb at hand. It is of my understanding that this ultrabook has two harddrives. One SSD on which the operating system is installed and one HDD with the other files on.What do I do to make it work again? I do not care if all my files are lost.

Luckily, I knew the Shutdown -a command, so I could stop it. The dell is also running alot slower, so its not looking good. I only want to do a reformat as a LAST resort, but if everyone agrees i need it, i will.

Neither through Alt+F10 nor through eRecovery am I able to get around a Notice with the following "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". There is only one option of this notice, that is to ok it and then the current Windows 7 Home Premium OS starts and I am not able to get out of this viscous circle. The OS works and is completely set up, so I do not understand what am I prompted to do. I see a number of postings out there, but no solution. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a HP Pavilion DV7, Product Number : LW174UA#ABA, from my friend and decided to install a new operating system onto it. My buddy didn't tell me much about what was wrong with it, other than it ran a little slow. I figured that it was cheap enough and I could easily throw Windows 7 x64 on it, instead of using Windows 8.1 x64 which he had installed on it a while ago, and use it as sort of a backup to my desktop.
I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Professional x64 on it and when the installation was complete I noticed I could not access the internet nor use the usb drives. I went into device manager and discovered that a handful of decives had the warning yellow triangle explanation symbol next to them. I quickly looked at the problem and noticed most of them had Error Code 28. This told me that I will need to install the drivers for the parts.
Okay, that shouldn't be too difficult. I found the WiFi driver and installed it. The issue was solved (temporarily) and I could access the internet.
After searching through forums I found out that my usb problem can be many different issues. I then came to the conclusion that a service pack update (since I could not find any usb drivers) should fix the issue. Nope, the usb drivers still have not been properly installed. On top of that, the internet now truns on and off. I will have access for a few seconds and then my computer tells me that I do not have any conntections.
I already went to the HP drivers site and installed most of the drivers. Things like the finger print scanner I am not too concerned with at this time so I skipped over those.

I've read some other posts on this forum that the way to unlock it is to post the "halt code" given when 3 passwords have failed, in my case that code is: 51019908
Also, how does one even end up in this state, I've never seen this kind of lockdown before?

Then it switches of the whole Laptop! I think it is a OS problem.
