I recently installed Windows 7, and I re-downloaded the Acer Empowering Technology off the Acer website.
I can access all the features, but the Empowering Button doesnt function anymore.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5535.
I have a Pavilion G6 that won't start at all when the power button is pushed. I've tried it on battery only, and with the power cord plugged in. Yet nothing.
Here is what I see: When the power cord is plugged in, the power LED next to the port is white. I press the power button and it momentarily flashes white (and the F12 LED flashes). Nothing else happens. No other LEDs lite, and the screen remains black.
DIagnostic steps followed:
1. Battery was removed, and unit unplugged. Power button held for 30 seconds, and plugged back in. Nothing.
2. Battery removed and unit plugged into the wall. Power button pushed and nothing.
3. Tried a different power cord, different battery .. nothing
4. Removed the RAM boards, power button pushed .. nothing
5. Removed the hard drive (RAM still uninstalled), power button pushed .. nothing
I have an acer M3 581T which I bought about a year ago. Now, windows crashed and said there was a file missing. I am no longer able to boot up the system, I've tried the erecovery (alt f10) but it just proceeds and says it's not able to boot. I have no recovery cd/usb at hand. It is of my understanding that this ultrabook has two harddrives. One SSD on which the operating system is installed and one HDD with the other files on.What do I do to make it work again? I do not care if all my files are lost.

That is as it should be. However, pc peformance has been decreased (resources run out after 1 hrs use, lagging) as a result. What do I do? Do I have to recover Windows 7 or have clean up of my hard disc, and how?

secondly i upgraded to windows 7 vie acer upgrade kit, not am having problems, when i swith my laptop off it wont shut off properly i see a blue screen for a few seconds and then it suddenly goes off, when i turn it on then i get a message like start windows normaly which appears if u just shut it off via the button. i think mavcafee is causing it, when i did a full scan it quarantined some files after that the laptop is actin a lil funny, this doesnt mean is macafee, i got malwarebytes and that did the same in fact iit messed it up completely than god i could do system recovery lol the laptop wudnt turn on.
and lastly how come acer empowering technology doesnt work any more i downloaded on it just crashes i dont think itrs compatible with win 7,
While attempting a recovery with a copy of the recovery partition as provided by Lenovo, I receive: "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer".
I have both the Lenovo recovery partition on the HDD that came inside the laptop (15.56GB, PBR_DRV) and a copy of it on an external USB HDD (booted from it!). Why can't the recovery software find it?
Where is that "System Image"?

I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 5935G and downloaded and installed all drivers from the Acer website. I currently am experiencing the following probs:
1. The Acer PowerSmart Button is not working (cannot find drivers / application to make it work)
2. Cannot switch from the onboard video card (Intel) and the "discrete" one which is an ATI Radeon Mobility 4570 HD
- Both video cards are installed

I used the official Windows USB installer to make a bootable USB of the ISO file. It booted fine, but after selecting the install option, I recieved a error that said "Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. I have an Aspire E15 running Windows 8.1 Pro. I want to encrypt the hard drive with BitLocker, but first I have to initialize the TPM chip. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Vista drive will not boot. So I went into the bios and made certain that D2DRecovery setting was enabled but I didn't see if Acer disk-disk recovery was in the bios. I also see in the bios that password enabled but I cannot change it to be unenabled.
As soon as I saw the Acer screen, I hit the ALT-F10 combination and started the recovery process. When it came to a password I did not know it and when I clicked on Hint, it told me that password but no matter how many times I typed it in in either lower case or upper case, it would not accept it. Is there some universal password I could use to restore Vista ?
The screen constantly states password incorrect. Is there such a thing as empowering technology password ?

i got rid of all the components, went to the website, and downloaded it.
after installation completed it said something about WMIAcercheck.exe not working.
i tried to boot it up, and it said exception message:

however, my computer is clearly an acer system.

I bought Acer Aspire 5535. I got Resource dvd with it, and on that dvd are drivers for Windows Xp, Vista 64 and Vista 32.
When I started him for the first time and try Alt + F10 nothing happens, so I decided to format HDD and put XP on it. I changed AHCI in bios (to IDE) and formated the HDD with Windows Xp. Installation of Windows Xp went just fine. It works fine and everything is ok.
I Only thing I don't have on it is EmPowering. I tried to find it on Acer website, but no way
how to remove the Empowering Technology application from windows start up programs? I tried configuring it from msconfig to no avail.

Last thing I remembered that happened was my Norton IS 2009 detected a virus and prompted to restart the system, and so I did, and then things started to go weird. For instance, the touchpad driver needed to be reinstalled, and then I could see that my startup items DRASTICALLY got reduced, looking at the task manager. I tried reinstalling the Empowering Technology Framework, but still it doesn't work. Any of you guys experienced issues like this?
The hard drive on my Aspire 5745 was replaced (same size 640 GB) when I install Windows, it hangs on the Windows logo as its swirling and about to start. I have checked in the BIOS to disable UEFI boot but unable to see this option.

I'm now on a ethernet connection. Opening network connection, there's no wifi adapter icon. I've tried installing the driver, but mid install I get this message "The driver files you wish to remove will not be removed as the corresponding card is not installed". I don't know what this means, but when I finish the install, the wireless connection is still not shown in network connections, and the driver doesnt show on device manager. What else can I try?

if there's something wrong with my speakers on my newly bought 6920G. They are extremely oddly placed, at least what I think.
One of them is located to the right (below the screen as it should be). However the other one is placed more closed to the middle (below the screen) than to the left as I think it should be. This makes the sound coming from left to sound like coming from the front instead, which can't be right... Should it really be this way?
I should mention that I bought this PC from Acer with like 35-40% discount because it got sent back to Acer for repairs of the speakers actually. Did the assemble the left one incorrectly?

I also wonder if here's ANY way to get the Empowering softwares to work in Windows 7 (RC1)? I can get them to START (ePower, eSettings), but they can't be used. I have them running in Vista compatibility mode already.
