View 5 Repliesi uninstalled acer empowering technology with the intention of reinstalling it afterwards. it had been laggy and closed spontaneously for a while, so i was going to download it again from acer support.
i got rid of all the components, went to the website, and downloaded it.
after installation completed it said something about WMIAcercheck.exe not working.
i tried to boot it up, and it said exception message:
and then it said sorry! not an acer system.
however, my computer is clearly an acer system.
it's an acer aspire 5100.
i neeeed acer empowering tech to hook up to the internet, it's extremely slow to do it another way.
how, when you press the "e" empowering technology button the toolbar pops up?
And when you switch on the bluetooth module, the WLAN switch, and even the FN+UpArrow and DownArrow and the little green text at the bottom of the screen comes up? Well, in my system it's not working anymore.
Last thing I remembered that happened was my Norton IS 2009 detected a virus and prompted to restart the system, and so I did, and then things started to go weird. For instance, the touchpad driver needed to be reinstalled, and then I could see that my startup items DRASTICALLY got reduced, looking at the task manager. I tried reinstalling the Empowering Technology Framework, but still it doesn't work. Any of you guys experienced issues like this?
I need "Acer Empowering Technology for windows 7 x64 extensa 5630" for my laptop.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThere was a lot of gunk pre-installed on the Acer 6292 portable I bought about 6 months ago (eNet, ePower, ePresentation, eDataSecurity management etc, etc.), running under Vista Business (now with SP1). These make boot up very slow.
It has been suggested elsewhere (specifically in microsoft.public.windows.vista.general News Group) that these are not very useful and could be got rid of. I would like a second opinion before I uninstall these.
Specifically, are these interrelated - e.g. can I uninstall some (e.g. eDataSecurity) without affecting others (e.g. eRecovery) ?
I am a bit cautions about uninstalling as the Acer did not come with a recovery (or Vista) CD, and I would have no way of going back.
acer empowering technology framework launcher has stopped working
my windows vista sp1

I just got the Aspire 1810t last night and upgraded my OS to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
I finally got all the right drivers on here and launch manager which fixed my Fn keys, however the Fn+F1 still doesn't work, that is what launches the power manager.
I'm only getting 5 hrs battery life without it, how to reinstall the epower manager and empowering technology software...
im going to clean upgrade to win 7 64 bit, after i do that i know acer do drivers for web cam ect... but can i download acer software eg Empowering Technology, Acer Arcade Deluxe ect.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi own a acer 4920, but i am interested in upgrading the utilities on my laptop and i see that they have brought out a new framework for some of the other notebooks.
is it possibly to upgrade these features on an acer aspire 4920
My Vista drive will not boot. So I went into the bios and made certain that D2DRecovery setting was enabled but I didn't see if Acer disk-disk recovery was in the bios. I also see in the bios that password enabled but I cannot change it to be unenabled.
As soon as I saw the Acer screen, I hit the ALT-F10 combination and started the recovery process. When it came to a password I did not know it and when I clicked on Hint, it told me that password but no matter how many times I typed it in in either lower case or upper case, it would not accept it. Is there some universal password I could use to restore Vista ?
The screen constantly states password incorrect. Is there such a thing as empowering technology password ?
where I can get a copy of the eMpowering software for Vista 64 bit? I've downloaded the standard edition, but I don't think that it'll work on 64 bit... Vista complains when it loads at startup..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking for acer empowering framework 2.5 as I have batteries driver for acer 5735 laptop. The window os is window 7 ultimate.
i would be delight if anyone could find the acer empowering framework 2.5.
I bought Acer Aspire 5535. I got Resource dvd with it, and on that dvd are drivers for Windows Xp, Vista 64 and Vista 32.
When I started him for the first time and try Alt + F10 nothing happens, so I decided to format HDD and put XP on it. I changed AHCI in bios (to IDE) and formated the HDD with Windows Xp. Installation of Windows Xp went just fine. It works fine and everything is ok.
I Only thing I don't have on it is EmPowering. I tried to find it on Acer website, but no way
if there's something wrong with my speakers on my newly bought 6920G. They are extremely oddly placed, at least what I think.
One of them is located to the right (below the screen as it should be). However the other one is placed more closed to the middle (below the screen) than to the left as I think it should be. This makes the sound coming from left to sound like coming from the front instead, which can't be right... Should it really be this way?
I should mention that I bought this PC from Acer with like 35-40% discount because it got sent back to Acer for repairs of the speakers actually. Did the assemble the left one incorrectly?
Check this picture. I've marked where the speakers are located with red circles.

I also wonder if here's ANY way to get the Empowering softwares to work in Windows 7 (RC1)? I can get them to START (ePower, eSettings), but they can't be used. I have them running in Vista compatibility mode already.
i have acer 8930g 644g32mn and was wondering if its fully HD. it says 1080playbak 16:9 cinematic or somat. i checked my screeen resolution and its 1680 x 945 so that means its not fully HD?
secondly i upgraded to windows 7 vie acer upgrade kit, not am having problems, when i swith my laptop off it wont shut off properly i see a blue screen for a few seconds and then it suddenly goes off, when i turn it on then i get a message like start windows normaly which appears if u just shut it off via the button. i think mavcafee is causing it, when i did a full scan it quarantined some files after that the laptop is actin a lil funny, this doesnt mean is macafee, i got malwarebytes and that did the same in fact iit messed it up completely than god i could do system recovery lol the laptop wudnt turn on.
and lastly how come acer empowering technology doesnt work any more i downloaded on it just crashes i dont think itrs compatible with win 7,
Many Acer notebook do have an Intel CPU which is VT-capable. However Acer does not enable this. The last BIOS versions doesnt give an option to switch it on.
Now Windows 7 has an XP-modus which require VT-technology the time is come for ACER to enable the VT-bit in the BIOS for the 7720 (and proberbly more).
How can we push ACER to do this?

I recently installed Windows 7, and I re-downloaded the Acer Empowering Technology off the Acer website.
I can access all the features, but the Empowering Button doesnt function anymore.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5535.
I want to enable in bios the Virtualization Technology but there is no option for that.
Is there any way to do it?
Any alternative bios?

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust got a new Acer 6530 laptop and it has SOOO much bloatware, a lot of things that i don't even need. I like how Dell had like zero bloatware. i like Acer's program that backups the whole system though. Does Vista have something like that?
Should i delete all the programs from Control Panel or is there a way for me to install a version of Vista (downloaded copy from a torrent site) and then use the key provided from the Acer laptop so I know it'll only install Vista?
my seven week old son decided to vomit across my Acer 5920 laptop yesterday.
The laptop still boots but I can't login as some of the keys are stuck.
I've downloaded the service manual but I can't seem to be able to lift the keyboard off. There are four areas to prize open just below the speaker but I can't work out how to do it - do they push in or lift up?
Do I take out the tray it's sitting in or prize up each of the keys individually?
My keyboard is not working and I need to remove it to troubleshoot. Does anyone have instructions to remove it. I had to use onscreen keyboard to type this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone got a process and/or pictures of how to remove the DVD drive from an Aspire series notebook? Most other laptops ive seen are just a slider or single screw but seemingly not that on this model.
Ive even gone as far as removing all the screws on the underside but it still doesn't loosen the drive.
I want to remove it to clean and check another model drive to see if its a drive fault or not and if there is a fault replace.
I've got this notebook with an 80 gb hard disk but need to replace it with a 120gb & despite trawling the acer support site & the internet I can't find a guide on how to remove the hard disk.
I've managed to remove the base cover with 7 screws & can see the ram; fan; hard disk etc but can't see just how to get the hard disk out?
