Nov 20, 2014I got a Compaq Presario CQ57-400SO I want to install with Windows XP instead of Windows 7, which is included. I've got two questions now since I've hit some bumps.
1. Is there any, at all, driver support for Windows XP to get a hold of?
2. How am I supose to boot from USB (my DVD-ROM is broken)?
+ Have converted my Windows XP installation disc to USB.
- I've tried changing the boot order, and no, the USB isn't marked with ! so it should work.
- I've tried pressing F9 which gets me to the Boot Option Menu. But once I press the USB drive it just goes straight to Windows (the pre-installed).

Jun 24, 2014i have a compaq presario CQ42 . today i has disassembling my laptop and applying thermal paste on cpu and gpu . so , the problem is when i play games about 5min or 10min my laptop suddenly go on sleep and shutdown itself then i try to restart it and after that i get this message"The system bios has detected your notebook PC was placed in hibernation to avoid overheating .The system is now operating normally and your data should remain intact. Overheating may occur if the cooling vents are blocked or the operating temperature exceed the specification. The notebook PC should return to normal operation once the situation is resolved.
