Lenovo B / G Series :: G510 - How To Activate Turbo
Sep 26, 2014
I know it's normally simple to activate the Turbo boost on the processor of all Lenovo Laptop .
There's no Intel Turbo Boost function in the BIOS (i have not tried to update the BIOS, not to loose the warranty). There' are no installed software on the laptop or the task manager. As my processor is a new series 4, I can't neither setup the Intel processor tool to check if i'm actually already at the top capacity of the processor's frequency.
My retailer says that the G510 laptop has a turbo boost (max. 3.4GHz) on its I7-4700MQ (2.4GHz normal frequency). Here's the link of my retailer's product's description: [URL] .....
I bought a new G510 Lenovo Laptop but I cant quite use the dedicated amd vga. Everytime I install the given amd drivers from lenovo's official page and I check the Device Manager in windows 8 I see that the only enabled graphic card is the integrated Intel HD 4600. I tried to install the Intel drivers first but I get a error message that says that the computer does not meet the minimum requierments for installing that software.
I am going to install a SSD in my G510 and would like to know if it is possible to create a recovery DVD as my usb has only 100gb remaining and a full system back-up takes 288gb
My Lenovo Easy Camera has stopped working. First I tried updating drivers from Device Mananger but it said my drivers are up to date then I tried installing the new drivers manually from lenovo's website but no gain.
OS = Windows 8.1 driver version = 6.2.9200.10240 driver provider = Realtek
I newly purchased G510 which came with Intel HD Graphics 4600... I'm using Windows 7, 32bit OS as my business application works only on 32 bit.....Since i have configured for 32 bit i see RAM availability is showing 2.6GB....I know to show 4GB i need to install 64bit OS..My question is, can i disable graphics option in BIOS so my RAM gets more space...If so, how to do it in BIOS and is it safe?
I bought a new Lenovo G510 laptop. I downloaded Windows 8.1 from Microsoft DreamSpark, and burned ISO image on a DVD disc. When I try to install it on my laptop, I receive an error (it might be wrong translated):
Load Driver
A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB, or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.
Note: If the installation media for Windows in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.
I already tried changing the following options in BIOS but no effect: Configuration tab -> SATA Controller Mode from AHCI to Compatible Boot tab -> Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy Support Boot tab -> Boot Priority from UEFI First to Legacy First Also, I tried to insert CD with drivers which was in the box, but - of course - no appropiate drivers were found.
What happened? How am I supposed to install a Windows 8.1? What should I try?
I bought a Lenovo G510 notebook, I installed Win7 PRO 64bit. Everything is working fine except the video card, wich is AMD Radeon R5 M230. In the control panel/device manager: the video card not working code 43.installed a lot of drivers, but nothing work. I tried to install the intel video driver but its not working either, during the installation I get a message: my computer not have the minimum configuration to install this driver. ???
Every driver I use, I get from the Lenovos official page for G510 notebooks.
The notebook configuration is: Intel Core I5 4200M, CPU 2,50GH 4GB Ram WIN7 64bit Service Pack 1 AMD Radeom R5 M230 VGA
Because G510 wasn't really Windows 7 compatible, I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1. But after the upgrade, there's no more Bluetooth. When I run Bluetooth setup from drivers DVD, it doesn't install because it can't find required device. Also at tjhe Device Manager, it doesn't show anything related to Bluetooth.
What happened to Bluetooth and how can I get it back?
I have a Lenovo G510 and Windows 8.1. I can´t use keyboard and mouse at the same time. When i typing the mousepad locks. I guess this is a feature but I wan´t it turned off but I don´t know how to do that.
I have tested with the drivers for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, listed here: [URL] ....
I then even tried with installing the driver for Windows 8 from: [URL] ....
But when I got through the installation process the "installation program" says the driver couldn´t be installed.
I tried with the advice in this thread: [URL] ....
but I have synaptics 7.5 and not 7.4. I also tried fixing with the register but didn´t find the entry PalmKms. I did do find other entries with Palm.
I see this as a major problem since it makes me completely unable to use any program that require simultaneously use of the keyboard and mouse. Therefore I guess that must be a solution for this?
I have a problem with driver installation on my G510 notebook with Windows 7. I've installed all drivers, and only two had left: "Unknown Device" and "PCI Simple Communications Device". After installing the Intel Power Management Engine, the "Unknown Device" had disappear (installed successful), but second one is still not installed. VendorID (8086) and DeviceID (8C3A) suggests, that this is Intel Power Management, but this driver is already installed.
I tried to install different versions of this driver (even for Win8), but nothing changed.
My laptop at frst 3 drives on it. One around 1TB and the other two each 1GB. It had one key recovery functionality. I formatted, deleted and then created one big drive and then spilt that into three drives.
Now I want the one key recovert back along side those 2 drives which each was 1GB.
I've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification "This utility can not be used on this machine". Since there are no "orphan" audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts. How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?
I'm trying to set up the laptop to use an external monitor via HDMI. I tried a setting but it didn't work. However the laptop screen went blank and now I can't undo the changes.
On reboot, the screen works until the Window splash screen then it goes blank as the computer continues to boot up. Booting into safe mode works, but I can't access the graphics card properties from there.
Tried unplugging the HDMI cable, but doesn't work.
How can I bring back the default display settings without doing a hard reset? (It's not my own computer)....
I have a recently gotten my Lenovo g510, with a synaptics touchpad. My problem is that when I write, I can't move my pointer at the same time. It's like when I type my touchpad gets disabled, and when I stop the typing it enables again. I've seen some places that it's just to turn of/on palmcheck? But I can't find it in my settings. It looks like my menu is more up to date than the others, and therefore they have more detailed menus, but mine is pretty simple.
I will add a picture of my menu, when I go to my mouse settings, and then the settings for the synaptics.
Link to image ...
This is the picture most of the people refere to, but I don't have that menu ...
From time to time, nearly every day lately, my computer will get an alert in the system tray that the SATA drive is disconnected. It will then freeze and not come back. I have to restart the computer and then I get a blue screen that says "INVALID BOOT DEVICE". Windows will then send me in to the system recovery screen where my only option really is to do a system refresh. I have also tried the Lenovo One Key Recovery. At this point the computer is like having a new copy of Windows on it.
Lenovo support says this is a software issue and my "warranty" doesn't cover it. The computer is only 5 months old and has had this problem for 2 months.
The computer will work for a short time, sometimes up to a week and will do it again. Lately I'm having to do this nearly every day, sometimes twice a day. I've tried updating the drivers, not updating the drivers (after a refresh), doing all the windows updates or not doing any updates at all and the results seem to be the same no matter what.
I have the lenovo ideapad G510 and i get an error message when i trying to backup my system. the message is "current system can not support backup". why it doesn't work?
i have lenovo G510.i have enabled the Intel Virtual Technology is enabled from BIOS but when i installled Intel Processor Identification Utility shows Status as NO instead of YES. I have upgrades the BIOS 3.09 latest one so far but still same problem
I just bought Lenovo G510 Laptop with Intel HD 4600 and Radeon 8750M. Everything fine exept the fact it doesn't switches GPUs when I play games. I tried everything. I set it the max performence when pluged in to AC and I set it to use max performance when playing games. Nothing works, the games show that the Intel GPU is working and the Radeon not. I have the latest drivers from Lenovo, I searched over the internet, nothing works. I just cant get the 8750M to work.
Took this from an Notebook review on Notebookcheck(dot)net:
"It is comprised of the integrated Radeon R5 Kaveri graphics core and the dedicated Radeon R5 M230 GPU. The GPUs operate in a so-called Crossfire array, i.e. both cores can perform the calculation of displayed images. This process is, for example, used in computer games. Only the integrated GPU is used for routine tasks and in battery mode"
i've managed to finally install Windows on the Laptop.
But unfortunately he's pretty slow, even with the 4GB added memory.
When i bought it, it was said it had 4x 1,8Ghz CPU speed which could go on up to 3Ghz.
Also this dual Graphics solution is somewhy worse than the desktop Computers is, even though the Desktop computer has way worse components. It's said that the normal usage of the computer only requires the graphic processors of the GPU. however there is a graphic card with dedicated memory which should be activated whenever requirement on higher performance applications / games is needed.
Till now, my G510 with Win7 64 bit worked perfectly but after going into flight mode and coming back, it no longer recognizes any internet sources, wired or wireless.
Windows troubleshooter says I need to 'turn on wireless capability'. I don't see a wireless hardware switch anywhere on the laptop, fn+f5 does nothing and in the panel for the flightmode, only bluetooth appears (which I can also activate). The device manger says all of the network devices are working normally. I tried reinstalling the latest drivers from Lenovo, but that didn't do anything either. The Windows Mobility Center says that the wireless is turned off, but the 'turn wireless on' button is greyed out and is not able to be clicked.
In an earlier post, it was suggested to check if in "services.msc" the "WLAN AutoConfig" function is activated which is in my case true. WIFI is also activated in the BIOS.
Last thing I tried, was to bring with windows recovery the system back into a state where everything worked fine but also that did not work.
I havea serious problem with my G510 i7 4700MQ.When i plug the power adapter the cpu frequency is set 798 Mhz.When i UNplug the power adapter i can reach maximum 2.4 Ghz.Obvisously i cannot get turbo 3.4Ghz at all.Graphics adapter frequency is also drops to 200 Mhz when i plug the power adapter. is it a buggy notebook? My bios version is 3.05 and i know that the newer version is 3.09 but bios update is only available in Windows 8. I've got windows 7 intel processor diagnostic tool shows FAILED when accessing cpu frequency.
I have z500 model laptop. I've just reinstalled windows using flash drive. But I installed a pro version and I need to activate it using my OEM Windows license. How can I do this?
who knows how can i activate the backlight keyboard for my W540... I have download all the drivers but the backlight just doesn't lit up under anykind of lighting environments.
I've been looking for a way to activate and capture and image from the integrated camera from the command line. Anyway to do that? I have a W530 with 64-bit Windows 7.
i have bought HP Pavilion dv6-1390ev two weeks ago it's my 1st notebook [url] very good and i love it my main problem is that the notebook comes with lots of programs and apps installed and it makes the notebook slow .. so i decided to install clean fresh windows 7 home premium it's the same version that comes with the notebook .. my problem is i can't activate windows 7 with the windows serial on the back of the notebook .. my 2nd question is, to which Owners' lounges i belong?
I got HP Pavilion g6 series Notebook, and am trying to pair up with a bluetooth device.I can connect to the device via my iPhone alright.Problem is that I do not know if my laptop supports bluetooth, and if it does how to activate it.I went to Control PanelHardware and SoundDevices and Printers and tried add a device - no good. I tried searching it up in the networks - no good.
