Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510p / Get 2560x1440 Resolution Out Of Monitor Using Only VGA Or HDMI Port

I am thinking of getting the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM external monitor and use it with my y510p Lenovo laptop. My question is: Is there any way to get the 2560x1440 resolution out of the monitor using only VGA or HDMI port of this laptop?

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y580 - How To Get 2560x1440 Resolution Over HDMI

May 24, 2014

Computer: Lenovo Y580
External Monitor: ASUS PB278q
Intel Adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Driver Version:
I am trying to get 2560x1440 graphics to be broadcast to my external monitor over HDMI
When I try to create a custom resolution in the Graphics Control Panel one of three things happens.

1. I get a message saying that the resolution I am trying to create isn't possible

2. I create the custom resolution, however when I try to adjust it in the Screen Resolution menu Windows tells me that it can't broadcast the resolution.

3. The resolution broadcasts, but it is terrible quality, and looks like it is vibrating.
*Note: I had this setup previously, but I had to reinstall Windows recently, downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7, and now I can't get it to work.

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510P HDMI Quality Output - Not Optimal Screen Resolution For Primary Display

Jan 1, 2015

I have a problem with hdmi output to my TV screen.

I have Y510P (i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz,  Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

& NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M, Win 8.1 64-bit(6.3 build 9600), all with latest drivers )

My TV is Panasonic TH-L32B6. When I connect my laptop to TV it shows me awful picture quality and notification that “this is not optimal screen resolution for the primary display. The optimal res. Is 1280x720”. But with 1280x720 it’s still awful. It works fine just with 1024x768 res. I have no such a problem with my other TV LG 47LS570Y. How can i fix picture quality with higher resolution? I tried another OS like Ubuntu and a couple of hdmi cables…(see attachment)

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510p USB 3 Port Always Disconnects Smartphone?

Sep 28, 2013

I have a Lenovo y510p and have a really annoying problem with it's USB 3 ports. Everytime I try to connect a smartphone(android) it will initially detect it but just seconds after it just disconnects it and then connects it back again, it just a never ending cycle. As a result I can't copy files. The ports work well with other flash drives and even my external hard drive. It's just the smartphones that are affected. I have used 3 smartphones already all different models and they all exhibit the same behavior on both the usb 3 ports. But the smartphones worked fine when used with other computers.

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510P Image Doesn't Fit In Second Screen Using HDMI

Dec 14, 2013

I have the Y510P with Windos 8.1, latest graphic drivers. I'm connecting it to my HD TV via HDMI and the image doesn't fit well in my TV, it's a little zoomed in. I've been searching for a solution in all the menus from Intel's HD 4600, nVIDIA's Control Panel, Windows scaling... NOTHING works. I have another laptop and it has an option that scales the image and the TV shows what is supposed to show.
How can I solve that and fit what I see in my laptop's screen in the second screen (TV)?

My laptop: Lenovo Y510p, Intel Quad-Core i7-4700MQ up to 3.4GHz, Intel HD Graphics 4600, nVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 2GB GDDR5, 8GB RAM, 15.6" Full HD, 1TB 5400rpm HDD + 24GB SSD M.2 (cache), Intel Wireless-N 7260, 72Wh

Lenovo B / G Series :: HDMI Port Not Working On G460 Win7-64bit

Nov 17, 2010

I bought my lenovo G460 with nvidia M310 (with hdmi) this year and have not been able to get the hdmi port to work.
I have two lcd displays one in our lab and another one at home (LG 2361V-PF) which have hdmi connections in the back.

In the beginning I was able to get my notebook to work on the display in our office. However, now both displays (work+home) are not working.
I have tried to reinstall latest nvidia drivers as of 2010-11-02 (ver. from lenovo, completely restore Operating system and tried different hdmi cables.
I have even tried to use original drivers and also downgrade that to a lower version all with no luck.
I have even taken my LG LCD display to the LG After Service Warranty office and have found no issues wrong with the Monitor itself.
I am sure I have taken all the trouble-shooting methods into consideration so a simple question is... Is the hdmi port defective?

The maximum resolution i can get is 1920x1080? When i change over to a Display port cable i can achieve the full 2560 x 1600 resolution? Is there something i need to do in addition to achieve the full 2560x1600 resolution with the DVI-D dual link cable? I want to be able to connect 2 laptops to the one monitor and only have 1 display port input so i need to be able to use the DVI cable on the 2nd machine while still achieving 2560x1600 resolution.

The display card (Nvidia NVS 5400M) is using 333.02 driver, that is the latest recommended. How to enable higher resolution?

Do I get higher resolution with using the displayport insted of DVI port?

Lenovo T400 / T500 :: Display Port Blinks Off When Connected To Hdmi

Jan 22, 2015

I bought this computer which is running 7win64 to update my T60 which I use with my home TV, a samsung digital running at 1360x768 resolution. The computer's native resolution is 1920x1080.  I bought an hdmi adapter for the displayport from lenovo when I ordered the computer. Initially, the display works and at first it ran long enough to get everything set for a nice crisp display that fits the screen perfectly.  The sound is there too, and is passed on to my receiver by the TV.  Very nice.  But then it begins to blink off until it doesn't work at all (the sound is cut off too).  Lately it won't stay on long enough to review settings.

All updates are in place, both from microsoft and from lenovo.  This has Intel 4600 graphics built in, and intel has graphics drivers available, but won't install them because of the lenovo supplied drivers.

I can't get any support from lenovo support because another device is involved.

I read online of some early users who had this problem with a docking station and i guess the problem was resolved with an updated driver.
