I would like to know if the HDMI port on my B570 laptop is an input or an output port. I would like to use my laptop to play games from my ps3 three system so that the tv can be used by another member of my family.

I buy this wonderful notebook with win 8.1 , all works fine, but... the hdmi port seems is not working... nothing appens when i plug the hdmi cable... the tv doesn't recognize the pc... i don't think is a broken port, i think some driver or bios misconfiguration... I bought my lenovo G460 with nvidia M310 (with hdmi) this year and have not been able to get the hdmi port to work.
I have two lcd displays one in our lab and another one at home (LG 2361V-PF) which have hdmi connections in the back.
In the beginning I was able to get my notebook to work on the display in our office. However, now both displays (work+home) are not working.
I have tried to reinstall latest nvidia drivers as of 2010-11-02 (ver. 8.16.11.8990) from lenovo, completely restore Operating system and tried different hdmi cables.
I have even tried to use original drivers and also downgrade that to a lower version all with no luck.
I have even taken my LG LCD display to the LG After Service Warranty office and have found no issues wrong with the Monitor itself.
I am sure I have taken all the trouble-shooting methods into consideration so a simple question is... Is the hdmi port defective?
I am thinking of getting the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM external monitor and use it with my y510p Lenovo laptop. My question is: Is there any way to get the 2560x1440 resolution out of the monitor using only VGA or HDMI port of this laptop?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy lenovo B570 is 1month old, when i turn it on it hangs before the user account appears.. its stucked and just saying "Please wait" then i need to turn it off and turn on and on again till it works. Then sometimes when i shut down its also stucked on "Shutting down" I already tried reformatting and its still the same.

I tried installing several versions from the lenovo download site but i either get "No Matched Wireless or nothing depending on which one I try to install.

On CONTROL panel i select SOUND.
I do not have the HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the playback window and select Show Disabled Device and Show Disconnected Device. And still it didnt show the HDMI output. :/
Under Playback It shows only Speakers and Headphones. (Still after selecting Shoe disabled device and Disconnected Device). Under recording Stereomix and microphone.
What would fix this? Its my laptop missing any file/ program or driver? Or is there problem with audio card or display card?

After running my B570 (1068) with an extended display, the unit went into hibernation. On wake-up the laptop screen is indecipherable garbage. The second display will run to show BIOS startup but then reverts to the built-in screen - which is illegible. Toggling the F3 key does not get a good screen.
I read another post suggesting this is a hardware failure. What parts have failed?
I bought this computer which is running 7win64 to update my T60 which I use with my home TV, a samsung digital running at 1360x768 resolution. The computer's native resolution is 1920x1080. I bought an hdmi adapter for the displayport from lenovo when I ordered the computer. Initially, the display works and at first it ran long enough to get everything set for a nice crisp display that fits the screen perfectly. The sound is there too, and is passed on to my receiver by the TV. Very nice. But then it begins to blink off until it doesn't work at all (the sound is cut off too). Lately it won't stay on long enough to review settings.
All updates are in place, both from microsoft and from lenovo. This has Intel 4600 graphics built in, and intel has graphics drivers available, but won't install them because of the lenovo supplied drivers.
I can't get any support from lenovo support because another device is involved.
I read online of some early users who had this problem with a docking station and i guess the problem was resolved with an updated driver.
I have an issue when using the HDMI port.With the Yoga 3 in Laptop mode, when I plug in the HDMI port, the screen flips 180 degrees and then flips back when I unplug it.It also flips back correctly when I close the lid.Is there a setting that I need to change to prevent this from happening?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo y510p and have a really annoying problem with it's USB 3 ports. Everytime I try to connect a smartphone(android) it will initially detect it but just seconds after it just disconnects it and then connects it back again, it just a never ending cycle. As a result I can't copy files. The ports work well with other flash drives and even my external hard drive. It's just the smartphones that are affected. I have used 3 smartphones already all different models and they all exhibit the same behavior on both the usb 3 ports. But the smartphones worked fine when used with other computers.

When connected to an airport extreme via the same modem, it connects to the internet but speeds are drastically low. when I hardwire connect a mac to the modem, it's blazing fast.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with the OneLink dock and the ethernet port. Initially it was working but after a BIOS update it now always gives me "Unknowns USB device".
I just got my hands on a i7 X1 Carbon 2 and a OneLink Pro dock and at first it all worked out as it should.
After a while the "System update" prompted me that there were updates I let it run, including an updateof BIOS from 1.06 to 1.07. Now I can no longer get it to work.
Whenever i plug it in i know get: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
The SuperSpeed link to the USB device keeps going to an error state Compliance. If the device is removable, remove the device and then disable/enable from device manager to recover.
I even did a full system restore and started from the beginning...
I have a X230 (model 2357G) with a type 4338 dock. I'm currently running dual 1920x108 monitors via the dual DVI ports in the dock. But I wonder if the dual Displayports in the dock can handle something with a higher resolution like dual 3840x2160 monitors ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an HDMI port. While the port was hooked to my AV receiver, I hit a few buttons on the receiver and somehow disabled the HDMI port on the Dell.
I cannot figure out how to reactivate the HDMI port. I know this is what happened--cable, receiver, balance of computer is all fine. Somehow, the received "talked" to the Dell and turned off or disabled the HDMI port or its driver, is my best guess.
Anyone else's HDMI port break on them? I barely used it.. I've had the XPS M1530 since late March/early April but when I tried to hook up my surround sound today it did not work. I tried using different cables, different port on the receiver, and tried directly with my HDTV but my computer does nothing. I updated the audio drivers and flashed the bios, but no luck. Pretty sure HDMI port broke. What a piece of garbage.
After my lid randomly cracking when I closed it less than a month ago and now this.. I can see how this computer will definitely break by the time my 3 yr warranty ends. Good job, Dell. Could they even replace the HDMI port on the machine or would they have to put in an entire new motherboard?
Bought a 5920G yesterday, when I plug the hdmi cable into the HDMI out port on my laptop into my HDTV it simply makes my laptop screen go blank and the tv (set to HDMI channel) does not pick anything up andjust says 'no signal'

I'm trying to connect my dv7t with the geforce 9600m to my hdtv via hdmi but the tv isn't picking up the signal. With my old dv9000, it recognized it right away and I didnt have to do anything. I can't check my control panel when I connect it because the laptop screen goes off and nothing else happens. I have dox's latest customized drivers if that matters.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Lenovo ... so I was trying to get some games running on my big screen with my lenovo y50 laptop which I should have set to always use the 860m dedicated card. But when I'm running a second display it defaults to using the Intel 4600 chip, obviously not great for running games. I've tried looking every where in the Nvidia control panel and Intels control panel but can't find anything to fix this issue. That HDMI port is the only display port on the laptop as well.

I am trying to get 2560x1440 graphics to be broadcast to my external monitor over HDMI
When I try to create a custom resolution in the Graphics Control Panel one of three things happens.
1. I get a message saying that the resolution I am trying to create isn't possible
2. I create the custom resolution, however when I try to adjust it in the Screen Resolution menu Windows tells me that it can't broadcast the resolution.
3. The resolution broadcasts, but it is terrible quality, and looks like it is vibrating.
*Note: I had this setup previously, but I had to reinstall Windows recently, downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7, and now I can't get it to work.
I just ordered an M4400 from the outlet, and in the Accessories page during the order there was no option to buy a DisplayPort to XXX Adapter for $15 like there is when you are buying a new one...
I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to find one after the fact, but now that I'm looking the only DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Dell has to order is $59.99 !! Any ideas one where to get one closer to $15?
I have heard numerous comments stating that individuals are only getting Stereo Sound from their HDMI port but then other comments explaining that yes, indeed, it supports Dolby Digital....5.1 Audio etc.
The HDMI port is 1.2 which allows for a PCM 8 audio stream signal.
I have a receiver that allows for internal 7.1/5.1 Audio streams (all of the latest codecs can be decoded and processed) with HDMI output/input connections.
Will I be able to send a 5.1 PCM Audio stream to my AV Receiver and thereby utilizing the full range of audio?

It comes with nVidia 7200 Go video card. Theoritically, nVidia video card could come with HDMI, but not always the case. So..how do I know if mine has one? I am actually looking for eSata port since I want to purchase an external HD for backup purpose.
