it appears my windows 7 32bit thinkpad x200 has question marks at bluetooth adapters in device manager.
I have installed the drivers that are available on the website of lenovo producer, but no change is observable.
The device seems to work well, that is share and access files with android smartphone, and use android's internet, but when it comes to sharing internet with the smartphone, there is no transmission. I wonder if broken drivers could be the cause.
Just upgraded from Windows 8.1 preview to Windows 8.1... since then my display doesn't look right at all. Resolution seems to be set to 1920x1080... which I belive is correct.
But text, icons and windows seem bigger than they were before.
Also the display is lacking sharpness around text. Do I need to upgrade some drivers or something?
I have a problem which does not persist on another machine with windows 7.
Lenovo connects to the internet with this modem, but then after sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes after half an hour, the modem loses conncetion, although its dedicated application does not indicate lost connection.
Thinkpad x200, Windows 7 Does not connect to Internet, does not show list of available WiFi points.
Windows Diagnostics says everything is ok except "Wireless capability is turned off" Pushing the little switch on the left side of the Thinkpad to green does not change anything.
What can I do?
Month ago x200 works well. I leave it on table for a mont and do not use it at all. But now, x200 turns on only with inserted AC adapter charger. It does not turn on with only inserted battery (without AC adapter charger), just nothing happend when I press power button.
But battery charges and program "Thinkpad Power Manager" detects battery and it's charge. Battery is ok (tested on another X200 and works well).
I have a X200 with a Intel GS45 graphic card, which should use 256mb of the systems RAM.So far I only had 2gb of RAM, but recently I upgraded to another 4gb.Now the system says that it uses 2,96gb of ram, and the graphic card is listed with 1024mb of RAM.
The system I use is WinXP SP3 32bit. Why is so much asigned to graphic card? Is there an option to change the amount that is used by the graphic card? I don't think that the graphic card is using that extra RAM anyway.I read that it could work to add /pae to the boot.ini, but this didn't change anything.
My X200 (three or four years old) has a new battery (few months only) and has never had any power issue. Suddenly since last week it will not operate without the power supply plug in. Battery is showing 100% and condition excellent, but the second I remove/unpower the power supply plug, the system crashes. On restart with power supply attached, the battery indicator shows 1%! It then gradually creeps up to 4% and after maybe 5 mins it leaps back up to 100%.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy X200 laptop appears to have a mistake in its keyboard. When the machine is starting up, I see the following message right after the Bios screen:
Error
0210
Stuck key 5D
Press F1 to setup
And also when I am using it, the computer sometimes show the thing like when we click on right button of the mice, even I do not touch the laptop.
When I replace other keyboard ( from other X200), the laptop work perfectly.
I have just switched to Windows 7 Pro and it is already driving me crazy. I use a Lenovo X200 with my Ultrabase. I connect the notebook to an external display via DisplayPort. The Intel GM45 Graphics Driver crashes about twice a minute when the Notebook is docked and connected to the external screen. Than all screens become black and afterwards a message pops up, that says "Intel Graphics Accelerator for XP (R) stopped responding and has recovered". Sometimes the notebook crashes and reboots. That gets really annoying and I haven't found a solution. Bios Version is 3.20. I loaded the latest Intel Graphics Driver from the Lenovo Webpage (8.15.10.2302) with Windows 7 SP1 (all updates installed). When I use a standard windows driver and not the Intel driver the external display flickers black every minute once. The newest Intel driver (from the Intel Website) does not work, since it says that it is not released for my notebook.
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy laptop's lcd screen died 1 month after guarantee expiry. Since original LCD replacement screens are crazy expensive, I bought physically compatible lcd screen, that supports same resolution.
But I cannot get any higher resolution as 1024x768 (I've used 1400x1050 on original). I suspect there is a problem with drivers - my screen is recognized as plug and play monitor, but settings won't offer me any higher screen resolution.
I have the thinkpad w540

videocard:
nvidia quadro k2100m
Where, where! does it tell me the maximum resolution of an external display using the displayport.
I have connected a Dell U2713HM to my W530 using mini-DP->HDMI adapter (type2-ps8402a) and then a HDMI cable.
Most i can select is 1920x1080, but the U2713HM has de capacity to run 2560x1440
I recently bought this dell monitor and am trying to connect via a mini displayport to Dual link DVI adapter to a Dual Link DVI cable to the monitor.
Cant see an option for increasing resolution past 1080p.
Have upgraded Intel 4000 dispay driver and installed the U2713HM driver.
Does the x1 carbon (3443CTO) support 1440p?
I am to be the lucky owner of an X1 Carbon soon. There is one thing that I can't find the answer for in the documentation and spec sheets:
- what is the maximum resolution that the mini displayport can handle?
The display that I'm looking to buy is running 2560 x 1080.
I have a X230 (model 2357G) with a type 4338 dock. I'm currently running dual 1920x108 monitors via the dual DVI ports in the dock. But I wonder if the dual Displayports in the dock can handle something with a higher resolution like dual 3840x2160 monitors ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a W540 and connected to my Dell u3011 30" monitor. I used the Dual Link DVI-D cable that came with the monitor and plugged it into my Ultra Dock. The maximum resolution i can get is 1920x1080? When i change over to a Display port cable i can achieve the full 2560 x 1600 resolution? Is there something i need to do in addition to achieve the full 2560x1600 resolution with the DVI-D dual link cable? I want to be able to connect 2 laptops to the one monitor and only have 1 display port input so i need to be able to use the DVI cable on the 2nd machine while still achieving 2560x1600 resolution.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo x200 tablet PC (Stylus Only Version) - and recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
The OS install went perfectly...Once installed, I did all the Systems Updates for Windows 7, including all the updates for Lenovo using System Update 4.01.....However, I have an issue that I cannot seem to figure out...
PROBLEM # 1 The biggest issue I now face is, whenever I put the Digitized Pen next to the Tablet Screen within 2 seconds I get the 'Blue Screen of Death'....and it automatically Reboots....This ONLY happens when I touch the Pen to the screen....
I uninstalled the 'Wacom Drivers' - within the Device Manager, which i assume were installed by the system update(s)....After, uninstalling the issue of the 'Blue Screen' from happening when the pen touches the screen is gone.....However, I have no way of being able to use the Pen...it does not show any cursor or inking....Is there a specific DRIVER that I should be installing on my own to make this work properly - without getting the 'Blue Screen of Death' each time?....
PROBLEM # 2 My Second issue, which is suddenly occured after day 2 of installing updates is the Lenovo System Update 4.01 -- Suddenly, after working on day 1 - now, whenever i try to 'Check New Updates' i get a popup that says "An error was detected with the Package catalog for your system on the System Update Server. Please contact the Support Center".
I have a x60s (t2400, 2gb ram) as a spare laptop (also just because i really like it).i know there are more models and that the cpu is solderd onto the mainboard. if i want a t7200 cpu, can i then just replace the entire mainboard? or does that later model have diffrent cooling wich my t2400 doesnt have?
secondly i hearred the discussion about 2 or 4gbs of ram. if i insert 4gb ram, then i just get 3 a 3.5 gb? and will an t7200 allow me to have more ram?and last is more an software issue; i use fingerprint to logon to windows 7 (home premium). is there a way i can set windows to only use fingerprint log on? (so you cant select other logon options).
I'm having a bit of a strange problem with my Thinkpad X201.
I've been running Windows 7 Pro on it for almost a year without any problems at all, but the SSD I installed developed a fault and had to be replaced. I have the original Win 7 Pro DVD and have installed it from scratch on the new SSD but a few problems have come up.
W7 couldn't find any drivers for the network card or wireless card, and without a network connection it couldn't go online to find any - luckily I was able to download a network card driver via my desktop pc which I then installed on the X201, and when the Windows updates were downloaded and installed, the wireless also started working too.
However, the on-screen displays for the volume, brightness and Caps Lock functions don't work and neither does the Fn-F5 for wireless and Bluetooth.
I spent all of yesterday evening hunting various forums and downloading numerous drivers etc, but I still can't get the OSD to work.
I've tried Lenovo's System Update which downloaded some things and have also tried using the Intel video drivers etc but am totally lost now as to what to do next.
I know that the OSDs do work as they were all working perfectly on the original W7 install, I just don't know what the problem is now with this clean install.
I have a Lenovo SL410, model 2842. The video card in my machine is Mobile Intel R 4 Series Chipset Family.
Just got a new 23" monitor which recommends resolution setting 1920x1080. I quickly learned that this resolution cannot be achieved with the VGA cable (highest was 1366x768), so I switched to an HDMI cable. When I first booted up the computer after connecting them, it was perfect. Icons were rearranged, but that's no big deal. About an hour later, I had to reboot for another reason, now it's behaving just like it did with the VGA cable. Samsung support says I need to update video card drivers, but I checked that (via the windows interface), and it says I am current. Now I can't get to display with 1920x1080 resolution again.
Since it displayed the higher resolution briefly, I imagine it must be possible to configure the settings so it will stay that way.
I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit on my Thinkpad X200s. What is the absolute more ram usable and recognized by the laptop?
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust received my x240 - everything is working as expected. However, I keep getting a notification to activate my windows?
It came preloaded with windows 8 and is currently activated - but states that it will expire in November. Whenever I try and activate it I receive this..
Did a clean boot and updated everything but still occurs.
I am trying to install windows 8 from the 3 disks that came with the X1 Carbon. There is no DVD drive and we have no external disk drive, so I need to create a bootable USB for this. The laptop came with windows 7 on it.
It is easy to use DISKPART to ready the USB as a bootable device, but how to I take the data from the 3 DVDs and put it onto the USB so that it works? The first one only has drivers but the OS install is split onto two disks. I referred to a KB article but it was talking about autorun files that are not present on these DVDs.
The DVDs I have are labeled as
(1) Applications and Drivers Recovery Disk,
(2) OS Recovery Disk Windows 8 Pro [Disk 1 of 2], and (2) OS Recovery Disk Windows 8 Pro [Disk 2 of 2].
I just got a few weeks used thinkpad x230 which has w7 professional. I am thinking of an upgrade to w8.1 but not sure what to expect after the upgrade.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe bought 12 X240 pc's and installed a Windows 7 64bit OS on them. We are having problems on several laptop (5 so far) that they freeze several times a day. The mouse icon changes in the processing icon, you can still move your mouse but can't click anything or even press ctrl + alt + del. Have to long press the power key to get them to power off.
I already read that there were problems with the fingerprint reader software, uninstalled it but still having the problems (fingerprint reader is disabled in BIOS). Also upgraded the fingerprint reader software to the latest version on another pc, but same problem.
Ran solution center on one of the PC's, didn't find any problems. Ran system update and updated all to the latest version. Also tried to change the power settings to Performance mode in windows. But problem keeps coming back.
I tried installing the latest Intel graphics driver, but it fails to start stating that you need a version from the manufacturer. No error messages in the windows event logs.
X240 model is 20AL00C1MB.
Some texts look blurry on some windows. I have attached a picture to show you what I mean. If you see "Device Manager" window, the text is blurry. On the other "System" window, the text is just fine.

I have S430, bios 2.58 I decided to upgrade my HDD to SSD and install clean Windows on it.
I've downloaded Windows 7 ISO from [URL] ....
Then I have loaded it into Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool
Prepared with that app bootable DVD and flash
First I tryied to install Windows from usb, installer runs and asked me for CDDVD drivers. I sat up USB3.0 to disabled, then in browser window I can see my flash, but the message about drivers remains..
Also I copyed USB3 driver from [URL] ... to another flash and tryed to give them instead of CD-DVD drivers, but they are shown as "not compatible"
Next i tryied with DVD, but I can't even load installer - DVD begin to roll, but then shows me "choose boot device" dialog. Secure boot is OFF, UEFI tryied both Legacy Only and UEFI only....
