i have a new Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 (i5 Full HD with Nvidia Graphic Card). I bought it on 7th October 2014 and everything was fine under Windows 8.1 N Pro x64. But today when i started my notebook, i had a black screen for a few seconds and then it stuck in a reboot loop.
1. i press the power button
2. black screen for a few seconds
3. reboot and back to step 2.
i tried already the lenovo button, but this results in the same problem as above. I also tried to boot into bios by pressing every F1...F12 key and also Fn+F1...F12 key. And last but not least i tried to boot from Disk (Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and 64-bit, Windows 8 x64, Windows 8.1 N Pro x64 and Debian latest stable) but it didn't work, too.
My Laptop is Lenovo G460, I have no problem with it till about a few days ago, my problem is every time I boot my laptop, I got blackscreen between Lenovo Logo --> windows logon, it's took about 2/3 minutes with cursor appeared at the very top left corner which is really make me mad . And every time I shutdown my laptop, I faced a long time shutdown, after my screen off, my keyboard and mouse still on...after about 5-10 seconds then it's all completly off.
I try to figured out what's happened with my laptop, then I change my boot option (F2)
I changed Sata Controller from AHCI to Sata Controller Compatible, and now every thing is works! no more black screen, and not only that, now lenovo logo is just faster, but the problem is still happen, when windows logo going to appeared I got blue screen error (BSOD) then the laptop was restarted by it self.
I try to redownloaded and reinstalled the drivers for my Windows 7 64 bit, here are the following that I redownloaded and reinstalled :
Chipset Driver Intel Matrix storage Intel Rapid Store Intel Sata Controller Turbo Boost
I tried to update my y510p to windows 8.1 twice now. But when the installation finishes i get a black screen with a cursor. I tried to boot in safe mode to install the right drivers, but it wont let me. It automaticaly boots and restore the previous version of windows.
So I'm wondering if i should take some precautions before i update to win8.1 (Like instaling the win8.1 display drivers?)
Maybe a better question is if I sould at all update to windows 8.1?
I purchased a Y580 a while back, and I am not getting black bars on the monitor (shown below). At first it seemed to be there randomly. But now it is on constantly. Opening or closing the screen at different angles does not change it. If I connect an external monitor, it has no issues. I can also see the black bar when windows is booting up as well. And it shows when I am in BIOS.
Recently I purchased a u410 and it has been running great for a few weeks but this morning instead of waking up from hibernation like normal it seems to be stuck in a loop of displaying the lenovo logo then a blank screen with a few seconds on each. This has been running continuously for hours while I try to run down battery in an attempt to reset. I have no bios access during the loop and it will not boot to any usb media. I am now wondering what I should do since it already has data migrated from my old machine and don't exactly want to start over. Is there anything that can be done other than returning it or sending it to lenovo support?
So I've had this laptop for a while and it has been working well for a few months but last time when I went to turn it on, all my files were deleted.
All my programs were still there, but images, documents and other files are all gone.
This happens whenever I turn my laptop off and turn it back on, when I put it to sleep and wake it up, my things are still there. I have Windows 8 and I'm fairly new to Windows 8...
when i changed the option "intel virtual technology" to enabled in the bios configuration section, my laptop started at 3.2 ghz on battery, then i changed the power option from "high performance" to "power saving" mode, it was redused to 0.77, then i changed back to performance mode,it speeded up till max. it seamed problem was solved.
i am not sure what intel virtual technology is doing or related to this issue, but it's worked for me.meh, after 3 restarts it's stuck at 0.77 again, i think we definetly need a bios update. After a quick search, i ve found that "intel virtual technology" doesn't related to this issue, and it' NOT THE SOLUTION. problem still exists.
Also, just fyi, some other brands of devices faced this issue over the inernet and all solved by bios update or board replacement. This post was move to the top of the page to assist Lenovo with an escalation.
I am new here and to Lenovo products. The IdeaPad Z510 has Core i7 quad core processor which supports upto 32GB of RAM. Can I upgrade the the current 8 GB to either 16 GB or 32 GB? Or it's 8GB max?
The specific model is Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 (59-398016)
Recently I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Z510, model name 20287, MO: YB03120328. According to the specification from my reseller (Dutch webshop [URL] and the Lenovo box it was shipped in, this laptop should have a 1000GB hard disk + 8 GB solid state memory (SSD) for caching. My problem is that I am not sure if the 8 GB SSD is working.
The SSD does not show as a drive in "My Computer", it does not show in Window's Disk Management utility (see Figure 1), Intel's Rapid Storage Technology does not show the possibility of using the SSD to accelerate performance (see Figure 2) and when running ExpressCache (with the command "eccmd.exe -info") the program tells me "HFS Volume is not mounted" and "ECCmd exited with error 0x10df (4319)".
All these clues lead me to believe that in fact no 8 GB SSD is installed, or if it is, that it is not working properly. Any additional ways of testing I could use to confirm it is or is not working?
Lenovo G560 - Issue with won't boot and black screen after HDD upgrade.
What happen: My laptop was working fine, no blue screen issue, no funny business at all. I bought a new SSD Intel 120 GB and thought it would be good to replace the HDD. I shutdown and disconnected the power adapter, waited a couple of minutes and removed the battery. I opened up the back case and replaced the HDD. And put all the screws back and put the battery back in.
Problem: The very first time I turned the power on, nothing happens besides a black screen. I pressed the dvd drive it works and opens up and closes. I waited for about 30 mins and still has blac screen. When I mean black screen, no bios menu, no logo, just a black screen with the fan sound on.
I have tried these:
1. Unplugged everything - battery, adapter, and pressed the power on button for about 60 seconds, nothing, the laptop turns on with the LED display on for both on and battery LED's. But nothing but black screen, no sound of windows loading just the fan and black screen.
2. I tried putting back my old 2.5" and nothing but black screen.
I usually just leave my laptop on overnight, and it just goes to sleep/hibernation mode then. But when i went to go turn on my laptop, you can see the lights on my laptop turn on but the screen stayed black.
What could have possibly happened?/what can i do to fix it
I have a new Lenovo Z50-75 with FreeDOS - I made a Windows 8.1 installation, and all went fine.
After installing the around 70 updates - at one point it reboots and I get a black screen, right after shortly seeing the Lenovo Logo ( entering BIOS works ).
It is not booting Windows at all - I can not enter Safe Mode therefore, and I do not get any cursor.
The behaviour is reproduceable, done this 2 times. Also when it hangs in the black screen, the van get reall busy, lound and the notebook gets hot.
I recently upgrade my Ideapad S10 to 2 megs, which I understand it is capable of recognizing. When I turn it on however, I only get a black screen. Some forum posts suggest that updating the BIOS might be necessary, but the only BIOS update I can find is for Windows XP, and I am running Windows 7.
I purchased Z510 recently with 1 TB hard disk. The problem is that it came with only 2 partitions :
a) Windows (C) - 891 GB
b) Drivers (D) - 25 GB
When asked with the support, I was told that if I make new partitions my warranty will void. and if anything bad happens on the software part I have to pay for that to fix it.
It is very difficult to work on a system with only above partitions.
I have a brand new z510 notebook, and I need to do a clean install of windows 8.1. Problem is that I can't seem to boot from CD or USB. I have entered the bios, and although the DVD rom drive works, and it shown correctly in BIOS, it does NOT allow me to add it to the boot list. Also, there is an option called 'Boot From USB' I enable that, and still the USB boot does not show up in the boot list. The only thing I have in the boot list is the 'Windows Boot Manager' and it lists the name of my drive.
I thought that maybe secure boot was the issue, but I tried disabling this, and is still doesn't let me do what I want. I just paid $800 for a top of the line laptop, and I can't even boot from a cdrom. Every computer I have had since the 1980s have allowed me to do just that without trouble.
I downloaded the Energy Management from the below link:
[URL]
I'm using win 8.1 x64, after successful installation, this app is running in background and i see that in the Task Manager but i can't see Energy Management User Interface to change battery mode and limit battery charging.
I bought my lenovo Ideapad Z510 about 1.5 months ago. Since a week the laptop stops spontaneously. At a certain moment the laptop stops and is completely off. The first time I immeditely checked if anything was hot, but the latop felt only just a little warmer than my hand.
I noticed that it occurs more often when it is on the AC adapter, but also when running on battery. I checked the temparature with 'speedfan' and the HD0 was about 39 degrees and the 4 cores where about 30 degrees.
I bought lenovo z510 recently and liked its performance. But from last few days am facing issue when windows 8.1 boots .ie., when i power on my laptop i see "lenovo log" for more than 15 minutes and sometimes windows doesnt start at all. I have to restart few times manually with power button to see the windows screen.
Initially i thought it is due to windows update, but even after I turned off update, am facing same issue. My laptop is hardly a month old and it is very frustrating to see this happening .
Btw my mobo, cpu, memory i believe were all replaced last time i took it in with this issue... Still getting it consistently:
Random Black Screens and Random Sleeping: [URL] ...
Black Screen: [URL] ...
I thought before maybe its Bluetooth related as sometimes when screen would turn black and then come back, I would get a 'Bluetooth Device Not Discoverable'. So turned off Bluetooth in the BIOS, but still having display/sleep issues.
I removed hte Lenovo Power Manager/PM Driver, and turned off sleeping in the Windows power settings (in every setting including if Low Battery Action).
I got an ideapad y560 0646 with i7 and radeon 5730 without switchable graphics. After starting, the windows logo appears and afterwards just a black screen. No windows logon. Starting with standard vga drivers is possible. I am currently running windows 7 prof 64 bit. I remember that i installed windows 7 prof 32 bit in november 2011 and after installing the graphic drivers from lenovo homepage i faced the same issue.
So I continued using windows 7 64 bit. i think there was a windows update which caused the issues for windows 7 64 bit. I installed the latest drivers but this didnt work. i think this is no hardware issue because ubuntu is running fine. i would like to try the old drivers which came with the y560 on cd. unfortunately i cant find the cd.
Does some have the old driver cd and could upload the drivers or name the file of the driver so i can download it from the web?
I installed windows 8.1 pro with WMC on my lenovo z510 laptop and installed energy management driver from laptop's drivers dvd. After I installed LEM (lenovo energy management) i started the gauge reset process for my laptop.
After some hours i saw nothing is happening so i made a mistake and cancelled gauge reset in the management software and after that when i restarted my laptop my battery icon says PLUGGED IN CHARGING but it just remians on 0% !!!!!
Problem solved by for example uninstall and reinstalling MICROSOFT ACPI. but notice that i reinstalled my windows 8.1 ! i changed in to windows 7 ! again changed it to windows 8.1 !!!
I updated the energy management software ! nothing happened !
Then try to restart to BIOS menu and from there restore BIOS defaults ! but i couldn't enter BIOS from any ways ! from pressing F1 ! from the way based on windows 8.1 and UEFI frimware settings (somthing like that) ! from none of them i could enter the BIOS!
So now my battery is still facing the problem !you know that it's not easy to unattatch and reattatch z510 battery that is internal ! so at last i must say that i've checked a lot of ways and now my battery is still having problem !
I have a lenovo z510 and i have one issue... when is plugged, it's very fast. when i unplug, everything is laggy. even when i scroll down on my facebook page, is very laggy. if i plug it in, it's very smooth and works perfect. I don't wanna mention if i wanna play assasins creed without being plugged in... is very laggy. I'm running windows 8.1 and all drivers are downloaded from lenovo website driver support... I've tried to change the profile.
On battery mode to run everything on maximum performance... but it doesn't work. same problem. I don't care if the battery runs out faster. i just want it to run fast when is on battery mode.
I have a 3000 N200 0769 with a black line running vertical in the middle and the monitor is fuzzy. How can I tell if its the LCD screen itself or the cable. The unit is almost 4 years old.
I bought this computer on Jan. 1st and so far I love it, however, a few days ago I noticed that everytime I connect or disconnect my charger the screen goes black for a few seconds. It's not the worse problem however it is extremely annoying! I tried checking both the intel graphics settings and power management settings to see if an adjudtment would work but it has not.
