I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6154tx laptop. My current version of BIOS installed is Hewlett-Packard F.1B, 05/10/11.I wanted to check if my BIOS is up to date, and if there was a newer version of BIOS available.
So I went to the HP Support page for laptops (URL...) and chose Pavilion Notebooks > Models dv4000 to dv6999 > dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC series > Matching products outside the United States.
But alas, I could not find my laptop's model listed there. There's dv6150tx and then it jumps to dv6161ea, but no dv6154tx. Is there any other way I can update my laptop's BIOS?
I am having 2 issues with my Sony vpcs111fm laptop. I am running the latest drivers. windows 7 ultimate x64. 4gigs ram
Random audio stutter. all apps do it. even if I have it just sitting there playing an mp3 and nothing else.
boot up sound does it.
mpc-hc does it.
foobar2000 does it.
I would like to extend my latop VPCS111FM to 8 gb of Ram (heavy user of VMware), i can't find any manual for this machine (only a basic quick install came with it and no more is available on the website) - What are the exact specs 4gb ddr3 204 pins but is it 1333 i think probably 1066 ? pc38500? - I open the 2 screws of the memory location but the cover seems stuck, is there any trick to remove it?

I bought this laptop for about 2 and a half years and I got the extended warranty for 3 years. After I bought it about 3-4 months after I have called and asked for the BIOS password but they stalled and stalled and stalled and I never obtained it. Now I call again to ask for the BIOS password w/ all the information they are acquiring like receipt etc. Now they say that my warranty has expired. Are they not supposed to give all information of the laptop to the customer that purchased their products? I need the BIOS to reformat my OS..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a copy of BIOS R0083N0 that I was about to flash my SZ with, but after deciding to take the plunge after a month of diliberation, it gives the informative error message: WBFLASH - Cannot read the system information.
I have spent this evening trying to find a copy of it from Sony's website but it has remained elusive. The URL I have is [url] and I thought that there was a link from there. Unfortunatly, Bablefish refuses to translate the URL nor the text when copied and pasted into it:- This might be a problem with my laptop and not Bablefish.

Now when I go to turn it on it gets power but does not post..Is there a way I can reset it back to the default..?? why does sony offer a driver that bricks your motherboard?

As a "side effect" some customers noticed that Sony has officially enabled the option of VT in BIOS settings!
This is quite unbelievable according to the usual style of Sony. Maybe it is because of the pressure from XP mode in the upcoming Windows 7.
Unfortunately the BIOS update still does not give SLIC 2.1 so to activate Windows 7 we still need SLIC 2.1 from Lenovo or other brands.
I'm trying to find info on an aspire... Not the model # itself as that is not the problem, but the sub model#...
The model is Acer Aspire 8930G, but the sub model # is 6963 and that is where my research seems to go dry... Does anyone have info on this sub model #?
Also i might ask is how user friendly is the 8930G for upgrades as for the processor and video? The current processor is the T5800 with the 9600m nvidia... Would it make sense to upgrade and what is the potential of this 8930G with the T5800?

I have a SONY VIAO VGN-SZ433N_B. I'm constantly reminded that there are new updates for my lap top, but when I try to install I am told 'VAIO Update 4.0 is required. VAIO Update (Ver. 4.0 and above) is required on your VAIO Notebook.'
So I installed Sony Update 4.0.0.08240 but still it isnt recognised. I have even tried to uninstall the previous Update module and then re install without success. I keep getting the same message, indicating that the Viao Update 4 I have isnt being recognised.
1. Screen comes on with colored lines and black and white splotches
2. Attached external monitor and it shows no signal.
3. Used Fn key an F7 key, it did not transfer to external.
Any new vaio with new specs comin up ? anybody knows ?

When I go to watch Lost on Hulu it plays fine in small screen. When I go to full screen it is fine until I pause it. Then when I resume play the picture is choppy. Then to get rid of choppy play I must either exit the site and relog in or if I hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete then close Ctrl-Alt-Delete it will resume normal play until I hit pause again. I have had it back to BB for the problem but they dont know what is causing it. I cannot exchange it for another because the new products are coming out in a few weeks and this one is no longer available. I really like this one and I cannot believe this is a major issue. I really dont want to exchange this unit I would rather have it repaired even if I have to do it myself.
